Duped into signing up for a single car check with carchecker.com who's google listing falsely identifies them as Car Vertical (£5.95).

24hrs later, I was sleeved to a debit from my account for £39.95 by checkmycar.io

Reported to my bank as fraud, who are refunding the payment and have cancelled my
Debit card, as it is now compromised.

For the benefit of others you can report fraudulent payments to your bank up to 8 months in arrears (well at least you can with Natwest).

Thieves - Thankfully noticed the checkmycar2 statement on my bank account. The absolute thieving B**t***s had taken out 5 months worth of £39+. Called my bank to stop payments and opening up a dispute. This lot need shutting down. Now.

Scammers. Will lure you in with a one off payment and then continue to debit your account a day later around £40 saying it was a subscription you signed for.
Check reviews beforehand stating the same thing.

Do not use under any circumstance absolute scam company
You go for one off check and then the charge monthly 39.90 and continue to charge whether you use carcheck or not. Not mad clear on website and simple terms a scam. Anyone on forum had any success recovering funds from this fraudulent company?

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
They make out you're going to be charged a one off payment of £5.90 but after a month, they take £39.50 from the same account you use.
They have no legal right to do this but try to cover their contracted small print once you've made your one off payment.
If you contact them, they dispute the refund and state they've cancelled your subscription.
How can I have a subscription if I did not even have an account with them! I had to make an account just to dispute the payment.
I have taken it up with my bank now but I am appalled.

Like everyone is saying you pay £5.99 for one check.....then as you chose this option you have automaticly set up a direct debit of £39.90 which gets taken out with out you noing......so phone them up and cancel also stop payments from bank.Im waiting to see if they refund my £39.90.....Robbing ???ASTARDS

This outfit are based in Dublin. I used this company after also using car vertical. I paid £5.95 to check a vehicle's history. The vehicle check came through via email, and I was happy.
Three days later I got a scam warning from my Nationwide banking app informing me they'd tried to take £39.90 for a subscription to something.
They didn't succeed thanks to Nationwide. Avoid them like the plague !

Beware - this company promotes their ads above Car Vertical so that you can find yourself using them when you didn't intend to. But that's not all - they then then pass your details to another company that tries to take a monthly subscription of £39.95. Its a 'barely legal' practice and demonstrates that they have no concern for their customers. Avoid. Avoid Avoid

Avoid, avoid, avoid. You pay £5.95 and then 3 days later they take £39.90. Called them up and they cancelled the so called "subscription" is had to cancel within 48 hours, which is what they claim the £39.90 was for. In this day and time, companies like these should not exist, clearly a scamming few conditions in the T&C etc. Good riddens!

Can’t give zero stars unfortunately. Absolute scammers and avoid like the plague. It is a subscription scam do not give them your details. Fortunately my bank have blocked these scammers. When you ring them they lie I spoke to someone called Alda. Do not go anywhere near these fraudulent scammers. Reported to Action Fraud

Mr O’Neill, you’re a naughty boy advertising as Carvertical through google ads. It’d be a shame if you weren’t able to function any longer as a business. Anyone reading this, go back to google, type in carvertical, click the report ad function on this scammers advert and report as a scam. Once google takes the ads down and remove the ability to pay for his scam to be on top of Google. He won’t be making money anymore. Mr O’Neill, you’re probably going to have a laugh at making money scamming people, but take this as a nice F U which will hopefully stop you in your tracks for a while.

Be careful of the company because it signs you up for a subscription without you even knowing - check all the other reviews on here. However, Rayna in customer services was brilliant when I called to complain. She was calm - when I most certainly wasn’t! - and processed my refund right away. Professional and efficient.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID I paid £5.95 to check a vehicle's history. The vehicle check came through via email, and I was happy.
