As a former teacher, I loved how the modules built upon each other and offered a lot of various opportunities to practice. And, when you couldn't get it right, there was always help available. I really enjoyed reading the feedback on each exam question - it really helped me learn. Finally, having modules to read, videos to watch, labs to practice several times offered a broad variety of teaching methods to address various learning styles, as well as offering a multitude of various products that we made from scratch and could potentially use with our families and friends.

The course was amazing. The notes, videos, and practical examples were awesome. I loved that it was online and flexible. The staff were very helpful and responded quite quickly. Their whole approach was nurturing, supportive, and wanting students to succeed. I was well supported, guided, and loved it every step of the way. This course was something that I had been wanting to do for sometime. I finally gathered the courage to do it. I have had some personal challenges where It became my medicine, that helped give me the hope and encouragement I needed. 1.Misrepresentation of Student Support and Educational Delivery

Lack of Direct Faculty Access: The school markets an environment of comprehensive student support. However, it lacks standard academic resources found in online higher education, such as weekly live office hours or dedicated instructor interaction.

2. Delayed and Unpredictable Communication:

Support is restricted entirely to asynchronous email. Response times are unpredictable, significantly delaying student progress.

3. Deflective Pedagogy:

Academic assistance is frequently withheld. When clarification is requested, support staff routinely redirect students back to the existing course content under the assumption of inadequate study, rather than addressing the specific gap in student understanding.

4. Deficient Feedback Mechanisms Leading to Unnecessary Financial Loss

Failure to Validate Ingredients: During formulation reviews, coursework feedback fails to identify non-compliant (non-natural) ingredients submitted by the student.

5.Compounded Material Costs:

When you study at an organic cosmetic school like Formula Botanica, the school expects you to use 100% natural ingredients. If you accidentally buy a non-natural ingredient, you are stuck with the bill. You cannot use it, you cannot return it, and you have to spend more money on a replacement plus extra shipping. To make matters worse, most natural cosmetic ingredients have a very short shelf life. They go bad and expire in one year or less. If you need to take a one-year break from your studies, you cannot just pick up where you left off. When you come back, your oils, emulsifiers, and preservatives will be expired. You will have to throw them away and buy everything all over again.

6. Undisclosed Conflicts of Interest:

The school actively promotes specific ingredient suppliers. Because students must repeatedly buy replacement materials due to poor feedback, a conflict of interest arises if the school profits from affiliate commissions or financial partnerships with those suppliers.

7. Functional Reduction of Course Access Lifespan
Inflated Expiration Timelines:

While courses are marketed with a 2-year access expiration date, the actionable time available to the student is drastically shorter due to email delays.

8. Compounded Delays:

The combination of delayed response times, inadequate instructional feedback, and the time required to re-order and ship alternative ingredients makes it functionally impossible to finish the curriculum within the advertised period.

8. This course requires a massive time commitment, so think twice before buying.

They are claiming that my account is not genuine because I did not use my full name. However, you will likely begin to experience issues with the course after the initial 30-day period.

What stood out most was how organized and methodical Formula Botanica is. The videos, video notes, and course materials were structured in a way that was genuinely enjoyable and easy to absorb, and the teaching technique made complex formulation concepts easy to follow. Although I wasn't able to attend every live session, the ones I did join were constructive and valuable, and I got the best out of them. Overall, the quality and consistency of the teaching approach is something Formula Botanica is clearly doing very well.

I have just completed the Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation and I am genuinely very happy with the experience.

Before starting the course, there were several topics I thought I already understood quite well, but throughout the Diploma I realised there was still so much more to learn. The course is very complete and covers not only formulation techniques and ingredients, but also pH, preservation, safety, essential oil calculations, stability, labelling and branding.

I especially enjoyed the practical side of the course and the final assignment, which really brought everything together and challenged me to think more critically as a formulator. The tutor feedback was detailed, constructive and encouraging, and the student resources and community were also very helpful.

I finished the Diploma feeling much more confident, organised and capable of researching and making formulation decisions for myself. I enjoyed it so much that I am continuing my studies with Formula Botanica and I am already looking forward to starting the Advanced Diploma.
