Our commitment to supporting the armed forces goes beyond our work. It’s deeply rooted in our employees’ personal connections and experiences with many of them having family connections, served themselves or being reservists. Our employees recently had the opportunity to volunteer their time at The Poppy Factory, making wreaths to honour those who served in the armed forces. With each carefully created wreath came heartfelt stories about what volunteering means to our employees. Discover their stories on YouTube 🌺 http://baes.co/F92V50TWEbB

Our work is a national endeavour that delivers defence and security capabilities as well as building communities. We develop people with technical skills that support permanent employment. By joining forces with partners in Department for Education, universities like University of Cumbria and with charities like The King's Trust and Movement to Work we can do so much more in tackling socio-economic inequality together. Last week, at our site in Barrow-In-Furness we convened a panel of experts to discuss this important topic and launch our approach to driving social mobility. Hosted by Anastacia Jamfrey, we heard from our Group Human Resources Director Tania Gandamihardja, Michelle Scrogham MP for Barrow and Furness, Jonathan Townsend CEO of The King's Trust, Julie Mennell DL, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cumbria and Sareena Bains, CEO of Movement to Work. With decades of experience in helping people and communities grow and prosper we hope publishing the practical steps we take are of value to others.
