The Earthwrecker is an enormous rail mounted super-heavy artillery gun based on the Earthshaker.[1a]

Description

Installed in a subterranean complex equipped with a complete underground rail system[1a] the Earthwrecker is self-propelled by use of a heavy steel locomotive and manoeuvres on an U-shaped rail track[1d] to firing vents carved into the complex.[1a] The artillery gun itself is build to withstand a pressure of several hundred tonnes through support of an arachnid grid of gas valves, shock dispersal coils and cathedral column-sized pistons.[1d] Featuring a barrel sixty metres long[1d] that fires eight-ton[1a] or thirty-ton[1c] rocket-propelled[1a] hypervelocity shells[1b] carrying a fission charge[1d] capable of producing a horizon-filling mushroom cloud and tsunami-like tidal waves on impact.[1b] The artillery gun is loaded by a crane system[1d] and has a range of hundreds of kilometres.[1c] The shells are stored dozens deep in ten metre tall coned ammunition silos where they are transported six at a time by use of an enormous multi-tonne locomotive.[1d] The muzzle flare-cloud produced after the process of firing is bigger than the underground complex itself and the resulting gas and smoke ejecta blots out the sun for several minutes.[1c]

History

On Solo-Baston the Earthwrecker was positioned on the mainland equidistant to the western seaboard and eastern peninsula. Its underground complex was positioned in the Kalinga Curtain and was mostly hand-dug by an eighty thousand-strong local workforce, spanned thirty-five square kilometres, sported hundreds of anti-air raid structures and was guarded by six thousand PDF troops. It was one of the first targets captured by insurgent forces and was used to deny Imperial attempts to land on the mainland by causing thousands of Imperial casualties during the early stages of the War on Solo-Baston. The Earthwrecker was also used to sink six Argo-Nauticals.[1a] After the sinking of the seventh Argo-Nautical[1b] the artillery gun was assaulted and destroyed by the 31st Riverine Amphibious.[1d]
