Motor Image Pilipinas, the exclusive distributor of Subaru in the country is electrifying its compact crossover, the Crosstrek for 2026.
The Crosstrek e-Boxer uses an electrified 2.0-liter Boxer engine that offers real-world fuel efficiency improvements. The engine and motor outputs remain at 156 horsepower and 196 Nm of torque, however, the 17 horsepower (12.3 kW), 65 Nm electric motor means take off and light-load driving can be done using electric power alone. A 0.57 kWh lithium-ion battery replaces the spare tire in the cargo hold.
Like the internal combustion engine Crosstrek (which will be eventually phased out), the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid also features an Active Torque Split AWD system, Subaru Intelligent Drive, and Dual Function X-Mode.
In terms of features, the Crosstrek e-Boxer has automatic steering responsive LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and expanded roof rails with a “mountain range” motif. It comes in two new colors: Citron Yellow and Sand Dune Pearl.
Inside, it has a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, a 11.6-inch full HD touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power sliding glass sunroof, and a 10-watt wireless device charger.
Naturally, it also receives Subaru’s advanced EyeSight ADAS system (EyeSight 4.0) enhanced for 2026 with Emergency Driving Stop System which can bring the Crosstrek e-Boxer to a complete stop if it detects a prolonged period without steering input, indicating a potential emergency. This is on top of functions such as adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane centering control, and lane departure prevention.
The Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer is priced at P 1,998,000 and is now available for orders at all authorized Subaru dealerships nationwide.
HP & torque output is too small for the price. The HRV e-HEV is the better value in between the two, at a lower price.
