Since early January, Zendaya has been on a hot streak of experimental looks—most notably with her hair. The first instance was during Couture Week in Paris when the superstar debuted edgy, jet-black blunt bangs at the Schiaparelli show. Shortly after, she tied all her hair back but her new bangs to show off some vampy makeup and a matching goth gown. Most recently, her experimental styling manifested in the form of a dystopian-chic dress at a Dune: Part Two event in Mexico City, but it wasn’t nearly as much of a departure from her usual look as her most recent outing.
On February 6, while still in Mexico City, Zendaya and the rest of the Dune crew—Austin Butler, Timothée Chalamet, and Florence Pugh—attended a special event promoting their soon-to-be-released blockbuster. While at the event, Zendaya kept her futuristic fashion in full swing with her ensemble. However, we were much more in awe of her new micro bob.

Though Z is no stranger to a bob—she's tried out a ‘90s bob, curly blonde bob, cherry cola flippy bob, and a classic side-parted bob, to name a few—this is by far the shortest version she's ever worn.
The new cut barely extended past the lobe of her ears, cutting off right above her jawline. The ends of her hair turned slightly inwards, almost a reverse flippy bob, adding bounce and dimension to the look. She styled the mico length in a side part, pushing all her hair behind her ear in the process. Her hair was a deeper brown shade that caught the light beautifully, also nearly exactly matching the hue of her dress.

A Bottega Veneta Design, her outfit consisted of two coordinating pieces, leaving her midriff and underboob visible. The ultra-cropped top half started with a loose-fitting turtleneck and flowed into a long-sleeve silhouette—cutting off in a curved shape and framing her body. The bottom half, on the other hand, started with a boned, structured leather corset-belt moment that fell right above her belly button. At the waist, the leather flowed into a maxi skirt of the same material as her top, with a slight train behind her. The skirt also featured a high slit, giving us a peek at her brown pointy-toed heels.
Makeup was the finishing touch. Her skin was glowing, hydrated, and sculpted with the lightest touch of blush. Her eyes popped with a thick stroke of eyeliner, creating a soft cat eye peeking out from underneate long, fluttering lashes. Satin mauve lips and sculpted brows completed the look.
