James | 44 comments I've just seen - in our local newspaper - that His Bloody Project by Graeme Macrae Burnet has won the 2016 Fiction Book of the Year at the Saltire Literary Awards.

I haven't read it yet but it's on my list.

Thanks, Jim. I had to take a peek at your profile and see that you live in Scotland. Have you read Burnet's other novel?

I haven't read his other novel either - wondering if you have yourself? I hoping to have a go at a few Scottish crime authors in 2017. Don't just live in Scotland but in Burnet's home town. Naturally, there's been a lot of coverage in our local newspaper, especially with his nomination for the Booker.

No, I haven't read either of his novels. I would imagine you are feeling some degree of excitement to to read His Bloody Project, since you are in the midst of all the media coverage! :-)

I am really looking forward to it. Sometimes, of course, prizewinners don't live up to the hype but I'm quite positive about this one.

I read it and I thought it was well done! You would never guess it was fiction the way he wrote it. Full of atmosphere and sense of place and time.
