Alan Pauls is an Argentinian author of the following novels
El pasado
Historia Del Llanto
Wasabi
El factor Borges
Historia del Pelo
La Vida Descalzo
Temas lentos
Historia del dinero
El pudor del pornógrafo

(Note that the last title, The Pornographer's Shame is not in the GR database—as is Pauls.)

Pauls appears in the anthology Excesos Del Cuerpo and edited Cómo Se Escribe El Diario Íntimo.

Only The Past has been translated into English, in 2007, after taking the Spanish-speaking world by storm. That novel was translated by Nick Caistor and published by Vintage, who calls it "a complex and multi-layered tale of love gone bad – passion, obsession, sex and cocaine, all in excess" – evoking classics like Nabokov and Proust, as well as contemporaries such as Philip Roth and Martin Amis.

The Past is not listed in the GR database. The only user review on Amazon is on their UK site and is a "so-so" assessment (Amazon has not yet reached the point of homogeneity to allow user reviews show up on a different country's site)

Pauls has also done some screenwriting (one of which was an adaptation of The Past).

I'd like to read his book on Borges—most of the STAR ratings for that one are 4 or above.
