Sam (archieleach9) | 205 comments Read one of the following selections from the moderators and previous challenge winners.

Sam - The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet
Krista - Dracula
Kiri (1st Place) - Kitchen
Coralie (2nd Place) - Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden World of Islamic Women
Rhea (3rd Place) - Titus Groan

Cassandra Could I possibly switch my book? I don't think that abridgment is any good and I don't think anyone would actually read the 1500 page version. Especially since it's hard to get.

My second favorite book that I read this summer was Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake.

Krista (kacey14) | 1037 comments Yep, we can do that. You'll probably have more folks selecting the new title as part of the Group Reads. :-)

I'm going to let Sam make the actual change on the Group Reads section of the site.

Yes!!

Caity (adivineeternity) Wow! At least three of these sound interesting to me, and the other two are probably interesting and I just don't know enough about them. But it's now an excuse to read Dracula.

ETA: Not gonna lie, I had a few heart attacks when I initially saw this task because I was spazzing out and thinking "no way I can finish all five of those! I've never even heard of four of them!"

Then I realized I was being dumb and I got to pick.

Elizabeth (Alaska) | 14069 comments I just got back from our NEW local bookstore with The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. Excited for this one.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 2568 comments I don't find any of these really appealing. I have already read Dracula and wasn't that crazy about it. I think I will go with Nine Parts of Desire.

Donna Jo Atwood | 15 comments I read Nine Parts of Desire: The Hidden World of Islamic Women several years ago and found it to be a thought-provoking book. It was a peek into a vastly different culture for me.

Juniper (jooniperd) | 102 comments Woo-hoo. I started The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet and I am loving it! Great selection, Sam.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) | 2568 comments Okay, the kids in the reading class I am in at school are reading Dracula. Could I use that book as my group read since we are doing the book as a group?

Krista (kacey14) | 1037 comments Yes, "Dracula" is one of the titles that can be read for the RwS Fall Challenge Group Read task. Read away! :-)
