Currently I am watching 'fracture' which came in HBO about a couple of months ago, a very crisp crime mystery with taut courtroom scenes - it is the battle of wits between the old murderer ( a rich and successful man who has supposedly murdered his infidel young trophy wife) and a young but cocky attorney who looks as if he is in his teens. I am savoring the movie at present, though I dont know how I will feel about it once I finish watching.
i just watched american beauty.
Its all about dysfunctional families and how ,the image some people project or try to show the world ,is not really what or who they really are.
there was no good guy or bad guy in this movie... everybody portrayed a different shade of grey!

so far I havent read Harry Potter or watched the movies though I have the complete book set and all the earlier movies. I am eagerly waiting for my son to grow up a bit so that both of us can read and watch together.
finally saw Promos of Rakht Charitra on tv! for once i think Vivek Oberoi kinda looks nice :)
have seen harry potter-7 Ist part........nd have read it too its an amazing movie with amazing location nd cinematography....a must watch...waiting 4 2nd part in july....
Hazel, I feel Vivek Oberoi always looks good in such tough guy roles!
Isha, Seen it already? how did u find it? am waiting for tmrw afternoon!
They should have released the second part within a few months of releasing the first.
I saw Dear John today. i knew it was based on a Nicholas Sparks book of the same title, but avoided watching it for a while thinking it'll have a sad ending n not the "happily ever after" I'm usually fond of. I was wrong of course, but still it wasn't a great watch.
Channing Tatum was good at the character he portrayed and a little twist in the story was nice. only thing is it didnt interest me enough for me to want to read the book now

I saw social network today!
loved it!
loved it!
finally completed 'Fracture' and loved it. I enjoy Anthony Hopkins movies; the new actor (or isn't he?) Ryan Gosling was impressive as a young attorney. I would recommend it for all 'court room drama' fans
Talking of court room dramas, the first ones that come to my mind are "Kramer vs Kramer" and "My Cousin Vinny"! Apart from that i have "A few good men" and "12 angry men" still waiting to be watched! Will add "Fracture" to the list
Yes man was in store for me to watch today since i had nothing better to do.
nice movie about this guy Carl Allen (jim carrey) who leads a really boring life until he makes a covenant with him self at a seminar, to say yes to every opportunity that befalls him....
Finally saw Jim carrey in a role that didnt make him look like a mental hospital break out. The only other movie that i thought he was good in was Bruce Almighty.

I just tortured myself with "i love you man"
Any of you all who actually like the movie plz dont read ahead!
This is not a movie most girls will enjoy,
I actually liked Paul Rudd before seeing this movie. Here he has just acted so so gay! All through the movie i thought the climax was going to be him ending his engagement and moving in with "sidney". All the humour was based on awkward moments and didnt really strike a chord with me.
Highlight of the movie: some of the songs that i kinda liked, but other than that a lot of it actually grossed me out especially the projectile vomit scene:(
in short:- ugh!

'Meet the parents' - really funny moments with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. I dont know who the female lead is. Yesterday for a change both of us (husband and me) watched it together. Usually both of us become free at different times and our tastes drastically differ - he into action movies and news channels and my interest being humor/mystery/crime and reality/foodie channels.
the eye!
ok this is seriously a movie for ppl like me who have a very low resistance to scary films... It bordered on being scary and kept me entertained enough for me to know what happens in the end.
Im not going to say its a great watch but nice enough:)

The Ugly Truth wow...nice movie.Infact a very nice movie. If I start my compliment session, I am surely the moderator will have to delete my post because it'll be too long & too boring :P
I guess I have already written something about The Knowing so I better not repeat myself...
Has anybody seen V for Vendetta??
@Hazel hey I found The Social Network similar to Guru, a hindi movie starring Abhishek and Aishwarya..did you find it similar too??
wow!!I managed an exceptionally long post without even describing my favorite movie properly!!
Don't ask me to talk about it, please! (too difficult for me but trust me, very good movie)
In this last period I look only horror movies because of my son, he is "in trip" with such movies. I am so scared but mamma makes also this for his puppy.

thanks, Hazel. Will surely pass on this message to Gautham. Nowadays he has deserted goodreads for other pursuits (playing incessant computer games, watching kids channels, reading GK books and playing with his gang of friends)

Curiosity: also in english the title is V for Vendetta? Because "vendetta" is an italian word, ti means vengeance.
vendetta is used in English too.
I have read thriller series starting with A for Alibi by Sue Grafton, have reached till R is for Ricochet. I wonder whether it is a movie version of Sue Grafton novels. will check it out on the net later on

@Akansha ditto except that my sister watches movies on my pc and I watch them on her laptop..
@ meenakshi..... ummm i dunno how u found social network n guru similar... except that they both made it BIG!!
Mario Puzo introduced many Italian words into common place English, with Godfather & other novels.. :)
@Hazel its like both of them are accused of something but they come out clean with their witty answers..btw did u like Guru??
Ohk.. from that angle n to some extent... they both didnt make it big by being sqeaky clean.. so yeah in that way both movies are similar :)
and INCEPTION?
both of them are great thrillers! especially Inception! the concepts of both of them are fantabulous coupled with mint action and great plot!
**** THE BLIND SIDE****
wow! oh wow! i loved the movie!
its about a "white" family that opens their home to a coloured boy and change his life forever.
Not sure but i think its based on a real life story!!!
