One day she gave notice at her job on a Friday morning. On Sunday afternoon, she received a tentative acceptance for her first erotic romance novel and life would never be the same.

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Taming the White Wolf is the first book in the brand new series, Lone Wolf Legacy, by N.J. Walters. Wow! Just Wow! I just did finish the last page of this book and I can’t even think of how to tell you how amazing this book was! In true N.J. Walters fashion, she kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. And just look at the cover! I could stare at it all day long!

Devlin Moore is somewhere around one hundred years old. He knew as soon as he had his first transition at age fifteen that he was no ordinary wolf. He was the White Wolf. A wolf destined to live his life alone, no pack, no family, no mate. His job was to travel the world, eliminating rogue wolves that were a threat! Devlin feels the pull to New York City, and there encounters not only a rogue, but also a human woman whose eyes look strikingly like his.

Zoe Galvani is a graphic artist living in her tiny apartment in New York City. Zoe is also a loner. She doesn’t date or have any real friendships. But she’s proud of her business and the life she has built in the big city. Her life is structured and quiet. Until the day she is literally rescued from death by a gigantic man. A man she should have felt afraid of but somehow felt safe with. A man whose eyes looked just like hers. A man who was going to change her life.

“Something about her called to him on a primal level that would not be denied.”

Zoe soon learned that the world was nothing like she thought it was. That humans weren’t the only beings inhabiting it. That werewolves were real. And that somehow she had become a target in some unknown person’s game. One thing she does know, though, is that no matter what Devlin is, wolf or man, he won’t hurt her. He will keep her safe. And that they are stronger together than apart.

“Her reality had been shaken to the core and turned upside down. Nothing was certain or steady. Nothing but Devlin.”

I’ve read a bunch of N.J.’s books now and still, every time, I am bowled over! She just jumps right in from the start, grabs ahold of the reader, and keeps us on the edge until that final page. I couldn’t help but to fall so in love with these two. And I was right there with them as they fought both to survive and to find happiness together. There are two other wolves that are the same as Devlin. Now that Devlin has found his mate, we’ll be on to one of the others to see what new adventure awaits. I am so excited to see what comes next!

“Eternity isn’t long enough to spend with you.”

As the white wolf, Devlin leads a very lonely existence. He's an immortal, the one responsible for taking out rogue wolves, and he is either feared or challenged at every turn. When Zoe, a human whose coloring is too close to his to be a coincidence, is thrust into his path, Devlin soon learns that magic is at play and life as he knows it will never be the same.

I loved how authentic these characters felt, despite the otherworldly circumstances. They knew they were manipulated by magic, but trusted their hearts and their feelings. They fought for and protected each other. The love developed quickly, but in a way that seemed organic to the high intensity of the situation that bound them together.

As part of the worldbuilding for this story, Devlin reveals that there is usually only one lone immortal wolf. However, when he was 'borne', two others joined him—one black and one grey. There seems to be some inherent mistrust between them, but I'm hoping that changes, especially as the series continues.

All I know is that I'm thankful for the happy for now ending, but eager to get my hands on the books to come.

Fabulous paranormal romance is pretty much guaranteed with this author as she writes about characters you want to cheer for usually in almost impossible situations. This is the first of a trilogy about three ultimate Werewolf enforcers although admittedly there's usually only one but clearly things change !
Devlin is used to being a lone wolf and never trusting others, not even his brothers in arms as it were but a chance encounter with a lonely human female finds him battling his instincts as someone seems determined to harm Zoe. Zoe didn't believe in woo woo magic but when confronted with a huge white wolf who turns into a very sexy male maybe it's time to start believing well, if she can live that long !
It's always a joy to read this authors work and her characters truly entertain. Perhaps the romance is a little rushed but as it sets up for even more goodness when we finally get to meet the Black and indeed the Grey Wolf I'm not complaining. I particularly enjoyed the reason why Zoe felt like an outsider but obviously my lips are sealed. A fun, sexy read that fans of paranormal romance will enjoy and as usual the cover art is gorgeous !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Devlin is a lone wolf who hunts rogue werewolves who break the pack laws. He knows his destiny to be alone so he can do the job fate has given him. He's supposed to be the only one of his kind until he dies and another will take his place, but there are two others just like him. So when he meets Zoe and he feels things for her that he shouldn't feel, he knows there must be some kind of magic at work. Because there are other things out of place like two other lone wolves, these feelings he has for the human and the fact that she is a little different makes him believe other things are at work.

Devlin and Zoe talk a few times and he thinks that she might be some kind of trap to try and kill him but he's not sure how so he reaches out to one of the other lone wolves who is surprised to hear from him but I have a feeling that in the future these lone wolves will be working together because they are connected and no one else can understand what they are going through.

Devlin tries to tell Zoe that werewolves exist and she might be in danger but she thinks he's crazy and doesn't believe anything he's saying. But when danger comes looking for Zoe and finds her, it's Devlin that comes to her rescue and keeps her safe. She has no choice but to believe werewolves exist after what she sees.

I felt so bad for Devlin after hearing about his first shift and how he was treated, how alone he's been his entire life since then. It was heartbreaking. I can only imagine that it's the same for the other two lone wolves and that is just sad.

Watching these two get closer as the danger just gets worse and worse, was fun because neither one of them knew if they could trust the other. These two have a connection but they don't know where it comes from until they find out who is behind all the danger coming at them. It was fun to finally find out what and who was coming after them and why. I'm really looking forward to the next book now.

Disclosure: I received an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

As most friends here who have known me for longer than say… a minute, notice that I love fantasy and paranormal books! And, books with shifters (especially big strong ones) are katnip to me. I can’t even count the number of shifter-centered books I’ve read since my original Twilight days (yes, they were your days as well, don’t try to deny it. ;).

And THAT’S why this specific book didn’t rate higher. IF I had not read so many shifter romances, I would have probably loved this book. But because I have, this story seemed pretty generic and like so many others I’ve already read. There was nothing bad with the book. It’s a bit basic but it is an entertaining story. It just doesn’t have anything that makes it stand out amidst the others. *shrugs*

SO… if you’ve read hundreds of books like this - it won’t be anything special. IF you are new or not long in this genre, I would recommend this one to give you a very primary understanding of what a basic shifter romance is.

Taming the White Wolf is the first in a new paranormal romance series by N.J. Walters. I knew I was in for a treat when I was offered the book. N.J. Walters writes such immersive and unique stories with compelling characters, vivid world-building, and swoon-worthy romances! This was no exception. It’s an exciting and fast-paced story with a ton of action and suspense as Zoe and Devlin find themselves in the middle of a villainous plot. The world is really interesting, too, with shifters, magic, mages, and so much more.

Rejected by those who should love them most, Zoe and Devlin both live lonely lives. Devlin is one of three immortal wolf shifters who live solitary lives outside of the packs. He is a judge, jury, and executioner for the shifters, and he lives a solitary and lonely existence. Zoe is a human who was given up by her biological parents and raised in foster care. She has some acquaintances but no real friends or family. The first couple of times she runs into Devlin, Zoe worries he is a stalker, but she also feels strangely safe with him. They are such well-developed characters, and they’re so easy to root for.

Zoe is strong, and I love how she faces challenges head-on, even though she’s been thrust into the paranormal world and is totally out of her element. And Devlin is super protective and fierce but also so tender and thoughtful. The pair has amazing chemistry, and their romance is intense and steamy! I think it feels even more intense because of the high-stakes, deadly danger they’re put in and the fact that they’re fated mates. However, their connection is questioned when they learn that there’s a possibility magic may have influenced their bond. I’m curious to see how this concept plays out in future books in the series.

I thought this was an entertaining start to Walters’s new series, and I’m eager to read the next book, especially because it seems like there’s going to be an over-arching plot, and there are questions that need answers and villains that need catching. Plus, it will probably focus on one of the other wolf shifters, and they both sound really intriguing.

Thanks to Entangled Publishing for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.

Taming the White Wolf kicks off a new series for Walters. It explores the lore of the lone wolf, used by packs to kill rogues. Except, there are 3 lone wolves in this story. I'm guessing future books will feature the other 2 lone wolves.

Devlin is the white wolf and finds himself in New York City hunting a rogue who has marked a human. But, unexpectedly, he feels a strong connection to this woman, even though lone wolves never mate. Zoe is a bit of a loner herself-no family, no real friends. She feels the connection too, but as a human, accepting the idea that werewolves are real and so is magic-its all a bit much. Plus, now they are trying to kill her.

The story builds the world since it is book one. Mages are trying to steal the immortality of the lone wolves. The wolves must figure out how to stop it, but also understand why, for the first time ever, there are 3 of them instead of just one. I found the story interesting and I enjoyed the characters. I do plan to continue the series because I want to see how everything pans out. I have always enjoyed NJ Walter's wolf books, and this one met my expectations!

Taming the White Wolf by N.J. Walters is a paranormal romance that covers everything a reader may be looking for in a shifter, fated-mates novel. The story follows Devlin Moore, named the White Wolf, after becoming the enforcer and hunter of rogue wolves. By having the mark of the White Wolf, Devlin lives an immortal and extremely lonely life. Brought to New York City by instinct, Devlin encounters Zoe Galvani who shares the same distinct color eyes. Zoe is a graphic artist and designer, living in a small apartment and struggling to make connections with the outside world. Zoe is quickly thrust into Devlin’s life and both must quickly decide how to confront the individuals that are hunting them.

Walters has written an engaging, fast-paced story with all my favorite shifter romance plot points while creating an original storyline. The While Wolf has drama, magic, action, and heartwarming connection. I would have loved to have a longer build up of romance between the characters and more character development throughout the book, however, Walters does a good job for those readers who enjoy instant love. I find the world building interesting and would love to see more details of it in the next book.

Taming the White Wolf is perfect for readers who are addicted to protective main characters and sweet romance. The novel balances intimate romance, sweet connections, and suspense. I would recommend reading Taming the White Wolf to these fans.

Thank you to N.J. Walters, Entangled Publishing, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Taming the White Wolf is the first book in N.J. Walters brand new series, Lone Wolf Legacy and it certainly captures the reader’s attention from the very beginning. This is a story of solitude and devastating impact of loneliness, rejection, and fear. I liked the flow of the storyline, and the characters were likeable and endearing. I look forward to the next in this series.

N.J. Walters has a way of writing that immediately pulls you into the story. No slow introductions, or a lot of character development. And although this can easily be confusing or a bit to much, in N.J. Walters books I always seem to enjoy the fast pace. And from the start I definitely enjoyed this book.

‘Taming The White Wolf’ is a new world, and between everything that is happening with the two main characters we learn a bit more about the setting and the creatures that life there. I loved the paranormal aspect of the Wolves. Wolves always have this mystical feeling to them in my opinion and I enjoyed reading about Devlin and his white wolf. Despite the fast pace of the story I understood Devlin’s story and I loved how he found Zoe after many years of being alone.

The romance between Devlin and Zoe was very fun and I definitely enjoyed reading about their strong connection. Sure they moved pretty damn quickly for two people with trust issues.. but who cares when they have such chemistry?! I could have easily read a lot more about these two. And I’m really curious about the other two wolves that share Devlin’s fate.

‘Taming The White Wolf’ was a very fun and entertaining read. I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you love werewolf fantasy, fated-mates, and insta-love tropes; then this book is right up your alley! I enjoy a good “lone wolf” story who finds a strong-willed, witty mate, and that’s exactly what you’ll get with Taming the White Wolf.

This was an easy, quick read with a slower pace in the first half to two-thirds of the story due to worldbuilding. The first in a three-book series, N.J. Walters integrates ancient werewolf lore into the modern world, creating a sinister air at the possibility of supernatural beings roaming amongst us at any given time.

I so look forward to the continuation of Devlin Moore and Zoe Galvani’s saga and cannot wait to see what happens with the additional characters in the rest of this series!

Taming the White Wolf is the first book in a 3 books series, which caught my attention from the first page. Devlin is the only White Wolf on the planet and has a lonely existence. His life changes when he meets Zoe, who has almost the same coloring in hair and eyes as Devlin. They will understand later that their meeting was meant to happen.

I loved the author's writing style, character development, and world-building. It was very easy to read and you kept on turning the page. Everything was developing pretty quickly, so you could say it´s a high-paced paranormal romance. Yet the main characters have enough time to get to know and learn about each other.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Devlin is a White Wolf. His job is to police the werewolf society. It’s a thankless and lonely job. He is the only Lone Wolf that will do this job until his death (then another will be appointed and then the legend will go on) but Devlin isn’t the only Lone Wolf! There is also a Grey and a Black wolf out there! Devlin has never met them, doesn’t even know their names! But he’s aware of them and tracks where they are when possible!

Zoe is a whizz on the laptop, her hours and her time is to do with as she pleases. Being her own boss affords Zoe the luxury of being late/absent minded and working on her own. Was this the cause of being in the foster care system? Is this why she had no real friends ? (The one true friend is a total user in my opinion) Even so Zoe tries not to be too down on herself and her life!

Being saved by a handsome stranger (she almost got run over by a car) is ok, it’s great in fact…. Being stalked by said stranger and almost kissed is probably not so great. Being stalked as she walks home, definitely not great! But she didn’t really feel unsafe with him! Poor Zoe, she thinks she’s going a little crazy!!
And then when Devlin’s world crashes into Zoe’s world, all bets are off! She’s gone crazy… how in the world can there be Shifters/Mages and Magic? It doesn’t exist, it can’t be real! Can it?

I did like that Zoe never really wimped out, damsel in distress? Nope not Zoe. She might chat to herself (who doesn’t) but she never gives up (she even manages to help Devlin once or twice)

Devlin can’t help the way he is, it’s his job to protect… But this fragile human female has him tied in knots! His inner wolf keeps shouting MINE! That doesn’t help at all! Power hungry Alpha wolves just want to make his life difficult, the Mages are after something (is it to do with the legacy?) and all Devlin can think of is how he can kiss this stubborn female again!!

I did like both of the main characters. I loved Zoe’s quirkiness, the fact she chatted to herself (something I do a lot) had me smiling. Her willingness to help other at the cost of her own safety had me cheering through the book. Like most males in books “I don’t need help” soon turns into “I need you” I like the fact he won’t listen to his inner wolf (well not at first)

I won’t lie, I was hoping we would see a dark Angel or a large surly dragon (these are characters from a previous series) but being told this was a different series, so no visits from them did take a while to sink in. But that’s not to say I don’t love this new trilogy/series. It’s a fast paced book. Full of action and adventure.

So can Devlin work out why the legacy/legend of one Lone Wolf at a time has come undone? Can Zoe really be a help? Or will she be a total hindrance? What are the Mages up to? And are Devlin and Zoe the start of something bigger?

A highly recommend read. And I’ll be grabbing the next one as soon as it’s written.

I'm not the biggest fan of werewolf books, but I really like this author's Forgotten Brotherhood series, so of course I requested it. And I'm glad I did. I really enjoyed this. The characters worked for me and I liked the whole idea of there being a lone wolf that acts as judge and executioner for his kind.

Devlin is the white wolf and one of three lone wolves in the world. Something that has never happened before. A lone wolf is selected upon their first change when the previous lone wolf has died...and they are completely shunned and feared by their people pretty much right away. They also have this internal voice of a sort that points them in the right direction of their next target. Devlin's leads him to New York where he has a brief encounter with a human that will change his whole world.

Zoe doesn't have much, but she's proud of what she does because she has worked hard for it. After finishing her most recent job, she's out getting some air when she almost gets hit by a car. Despite the way he acts, after Devlin pulls her back to safety, she can't believe how she immediately finds him attractive. And even after he walks away from her, she can't stop thinking about him.

These two run into each other again at a club and Devlin is powerless to stop himself from following her even though his target is somewhere close. Things become much more complicated when he finds out that Zoe has been marked my the rouge werewolf and realizes that it's most likely because of him. Usually he would use that to his advantage, but he can't stand to see anything happen to Zoe. Despite the overwhelming attraction she feels towards Devlin, Zoe tries to fight it. Especially when he starts talking about werewolves and magic being real, because obviously he's just crazy. Until things happen to her that she just can't ignore anymore.

These two end up on the run together while Devlin tries to figure out his next step. It has become obvious that a wolf is working with a mage, who are supposed to be their absolute enemies, and he needs to figure out why and who. Fortunately, Zoe does stop fighting her attraction to him and jumps in head first to help him, refusing to be left behind.

The ending was good. It was obvious from the beginning what these two were to each other and what was going to happen, but it went down in a good way. Plus . With two more books, it's obvious that the bad guys get away. But we do learn a lot from them about their goals and what they had done in the past to get what they want. With Devlin finally deciding to trust the other lone wolves, I had kind of expected that the one would have been there by the end. He wasn't but I'm sure they'll meet up at the start of the next book. And I'm quite looking forward to it.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

This was my first N.J. Walter's book, and it will not be my last, I have seen her other books all over the place when looking into paranormal romance, but I never took a chance on one and now I will be reading more.

I am a sucker for paranormal romances with wolves in them and this one did not disappoint at all. The plot was just what I wanted in paranormal romance, it had action, romance, drama and of course “she is mine”. I thought the lone wolf was something new, I know other authors might have written something like this, but this was my first one and I loved the plot, and I cannot wait to see what the next book will bring. The characters are what really did it for me though.

Devlin, oh I just want to wrap you up in my arms and hug you so tight and not let go. Devlin is a lone wolf, who is used to being alone. He doesn’t know how to handle feelings or to understand how a lone wolf can have feelings for someone else, when he was told his whole life that he cannot have relationships with anyone because of his job. Oh yeah and being a lone wolf means that he hunts and kills rouge wolves. I enjoyed getting to see his character development through the book and to see that he did indeed have a different side to him, I loved watching him take care of Zoe and making sure that she was okay and not worried or scared. I just loved Devlin. Zoe was a great MFC, she is strong but at the same time insecure about things. I liked that she was not right away trusting Devlin but made him prove to her over time that he was not there to hurt her or anything. I loved that she was okay with the idea that magic is real and that things are not what they seem. I like that they both helped each other heal from their past trauma. I thought Zoe was easy to relate to, I know that I have talked out loud to myself a few times, so it was nice seeing a character that I could relate to too. However, I enjoyed seeing the danger come closer and closer and watching them both learn if they could trust each other.

I really cannot wait to read the next books, as well as going back to read her other books. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal romances, with great characters, action and of course fated mates.

I want to thank NetGalley and Entangled for the opportunity to review this book.

Taming the White Wolf is a wickedly tantalizing edge of your seat thrilling adventure. With never a dull moment in sight, we are graced with slowly peeling away the many layers of our dangerous hero. Just when we think we know what is happening, we find ourselves thrust into a dark and deadly world of the unimaginable and unforgivable. You will never be the same but neither will the new world you now inhabit.

Zoe has finally made it. She has a place she calls her own, a job she enjoy and is good at, and a friend she enjoys spending time with. What could be better? Devlin has completed one job just in time to begin another. However there is nothing typical about this one. In fact, he knows that something isn't right, but he can't stop the momentum of events. All he can do it hold on to what he knows he must do and pray for a good ending. All the while he doesn't know what to make of Zoe. Is she truly as innocent as she seems, or is she just a really good actress who will be the means of his final destruction?

Zoe is just as lonely and lost as Deviln is which makes anything between them twice as difficult to start as normal. With both desperate to believe the other, trust is an illusive gift they just don't give to people. Watching these two hope and try and wish literally shredded my heart. It speaks to how we all long to be able to trust another enough to give them our heart and risk being torn to shreds. The only thing in turn we hope for is unconditional love and acceptance. It may seem like such a small thing, but in reality it's everything.

N. J. Walters is truly a genius of the paranormal world. She has written such life changing fiction that has transformed my heart over and over again. She never fails to create such comelling and extraordinary characters who capture my attention and leave me in awe of their beauty and heart. Nothing is ever what it seems in her many worlds. Instead always expect the unexpected and don't balk when the incomprehensible beast is nothing more then a man in pain looking for love and acceptance.

This is the first book in a brand new series-The Lone Wolf series. The lone wolf answers to no alpha or pack. From his first transformation, he knows his to be both judge and executioner for rogue werewolves. Welcome to the spellbinding first book in New York Times bestselling author N.J. Walters intense new werewolf series. White wolf Devlin Moore has spent nearly the last century following his hunting rogue werewolves. His fate is to be the only one of his kind—hardened, feared, and brutally ruthless. Only now, Devlin’s not alone. There are two others . And if that wasn’t unsettling enough, Devlin is drawn to New York City for what appears to be a human… As far as Devlin can tell, vibrant artist Zoe Galvani is no threat. But there’s something about her— from her unusual eyes that look similar to the same shocking hue as his own, to his growing need to mark her as his that suggests magical forces may be at play. Now there’s no escaping each other, or the attraction that grows stronger by the second. But no one, especially a human woman, should have this effect on a lone wolf. And just when he’s sure that having her could be his undoing…the truth steps out of the shadows.

I really enjoyed this book. The beginning starts off slightly slow for me, which is the only reason that I knocked it down to 4 stars. Devlin is a man (and wolf) that has been alone for so long that he doesn't even realize how truly lonely he is. Not until he meets Zoe. And then everything for him changes. I loved how even though these two are two different species, they are more alike than anyone could have seen. And because they can understand each other and how their pasts shaped them, it made them perfect for each other. Once you get past the slower beginning, you will be hooked. And definitely want to know more about how the main antagonist comes to be. I can't wait for the next story and to learn more about the other lone wolves!

As the White Wolf, Devlin Moore’s job for the last century has been the justice bringer for werewolves. It is his job to take out those who break the rules going rogue, or who for whatever wolf reason, need to be ended. His job is brutal filled with hunting rogues and dispensing death as well always being an outcast until called to duty and even then, no one wants him to stick around after the work is done. Unusually, for the first time ever, there are two other wolves doing his same duty: one grey and the other black.

Devlin encounters Zoe Galvani whom he saves twice from dire circumstances knowing this is no coincidence since Zoe bears his unusual white eye color. Zoe is strangely drawn to her literal white knight; she knows there is something different about him and their odd connection. Zoe has spent most of her life alone as well without family or close friends. As attracted as she is to Devlin, Zoe knows there is something not quite right about this big brute of a man.

When crazy things start happening and Zoe is confronted with that fact that not only does magic exist in the world, but so do werewolves, she finds herself unable to turn away from Devlin. Someone trying to manipulate Devlin for nefarious purposes is working behind the scenes in order to steal something precious. Despite Devlin’s near century living a lone wolf life, for the first time he needs someone else and that person is Zoe.

This story is the first in the Lone Wolf Legacy series. It has all the enjoyable elements of paranormal romance with magic, mayhem, and folks who would do evil in the name of having it all. The main characters are appealing, and it is clear their story line will continue as Devlin seeks to form an alliance with the other two of his kind to combat the malevolent ones stalking them.

Shifters? Check. Action? Check. Romance? You bet and of the shifter variety ;).

If you enjoy shifter romances, this one is a good one to pick up. It takes a bit of a different spin on shifters/packs, fated mates and magic. We are used to seeing whole packs, alphas and betas, but N.J Walters offers us a human exception to the rule. With a medium burn plot, some spicy scenes and lots of action, it was easy to enjoy. Overall, a bit of a rollercoaster ride in a number of ways.

2 individuals living seemingly lonely lives. Devlin, a lone shifter with his own unique circumstances is the enforcer and executioner of his kind. Then Zoe, the freelance graphic artist from New York, has a chance encounter with Devlin, not once but twice.

When the fates or maybe something more unnerving seems to intervene into their lives, secrets are revealed, paths are changed and their lives are certainly flipped.

Devlin begins to question everything he has ever known about his kind and beliefs and Zoe is forced into acknowledging not everything is folklore and stories.

When forced to stay together, for their own survival, Devlin and Zoe are catapulted into a series of unexpected events, they have to figure out how to navigate, for the first time, with someone else, regardless of all the odds stacked against them. Not only that, but it seems like every turn they make, there always seems to be another challenge ahead of them.

Taming the White Wolf is the first in a trilogy written by N.J Walters and will be published July 24, 2023!

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled for sending me this ARC to read and review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A new to me author, and I’ll be checking out more of her books! This one’s definitely on the insta-love-y side (at least it’s very quick because the book is short, but there’s also a magic/mates component to it that makes it work in terms of attraction, and they do learn a bit about each other before the confessions), but I didn’t mind it. Insta-love can work for me sometimes! I think in this one, Devlin and Zoe are just really sweet together and complement each other so well that it works. The way they bring companionship to each other after having led such lonely lives up until they meet made my heart all soft. The overarching plot is also something that keeps you intrigued because you know the bad guys have been playing the long game, but you don’t know exactly what they plotted until you get to the evil villain monologue part haha. Devlin being so lonely for so long as one of the lone wolves made me so sad; with Zoe in his life, he felt so much joy and hope for the future and I got kinda teary-eyed about it. Zoe’s his ray of sunshine, and she’s a smartass sometimes but not annoying. She makes honest mistakes but is always trying to carry her own weight so that she and Devlin can be a good team.

Also, because of the bad guys (and also at Zoe’s suggestion), Devlin’s teaming up with the other two lone wolves (I’m excited!) and is gonna help them out too. The lore and the setup in this world with the lone wolves is a new concept to me, too, and it makes for some fun as they have three for the first time and can actually work together if they so choose. I hope they get closer and form their own pack of sorts, or at least become friends. (I feel like with Zoe there, they’re gonna have to become friends haha.)

Danger, excitement and swoony love

The mistrust. The machinations. The sexual tension. The anticipation. The coincidences. The undeniable draw. The growls. The feels. I loved it all. Devlin and Zoe’s fated mates, suspenseful romance grabbed me from the very first word and kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end and then I still wanted more. The story will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions. Devlin is the immortal White Wolf, a lone wolf shifter who hunts and kills rogue wolves at the request of pack alphas. There are two other lone wolves in addition to him. Zoe is a graphic designer living in NYC. She has no family and lives a small but good life. They first meet when Devlin saves her from getting run over by a car. But when they keep running into each other it becomes apparent that there is something larger at play. While running and fighting for their lives and trying to solve the mystery of who is pulling the strings, there is a lot of past baggage for both of them to unpack to get to their HEA. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and a captivating storyline as shown in sweet moments, steamy scenes, dangerous situations, evil actors, henchmen, fated mates, painful pasts, magic, pack dynamics, and laughs. I am excited to read more books in this series.

Devlin is the White Wolf, one of three elite werewolf warriors who police the rogues among their kind. He has been on his own for almost a century, travelling the world and removing threats. But he's another kind of anomaly because there should only ever be one Lone Wolf - so what suddenly changed to have three at the same time?

Zoe has also been alone a long time. A former foster system kid, she has acquaintances but no real friends. When she bumps into Devlin a few times, she wonders if he's some unstable stalker but weirdly he makes her feel safe. But when Devlin's paranormal world crashes into Zoe's staid, boring life, she's going to have to learn on the lam!

Mages, Magic and power hungry Alphas are messing with Devlin and Zoe's lives. They are so in sync from the start, they make a great team. Zoe may know mothing of Werewolves but she is no damsel in distress. She may be out of her element but she mucks in and isn't afraid to wade in to protect Devlin. Devlin thinks he's this big, scary, killing machine but Zoe sees beyond that façade to the lonely, caring male beneath.

They realise that they have both been manipulated by outside forces but they don't let that push them apart, if anything it makes them a tighter knit team.

I'm really looking forward to the other Lone Wolves stories now!

Taming the White Wolf
N.J. Walters
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Devlin Moore the White Wolf has spent nearly the last century hunting down rogue werewolves as he is both judge, jury, and executioner for them. There is only one white wolf. He is ruthless and thus feared by other wolves. Only now, he's no longer alone. There are two other wolves. He has been drawn to New York City for what appears to be a human of all things. From what Devlin can tell this human Zoe Galvani is no threat to him. But there is something about her. She has unusual eyes that look just like his own shocking hue. He also has a growing need to mark her as his own which is odd as well. This suggests that magical forces must be at play. Now there is no escaping each other, or their growing attraction which seems to be getting stronger and stronger by the minute. The thing is no one and especially a human woman, should have this effect on a lone wolf. Thats when the truth comes out and it's not pretty.

Wow just wow. N. J. Walters is the queen of paranormal. I devoured this fantastic book as if it were my last meal. This couple was phenomenal together. Devlin is the strong wolf who can take and give, but Zoe now she was the perfect human match for him. Everytime you thought it couldn't get any better it did. If you enjoy paranormal books, then this one is a must read. I can't wait to see what Ms. Walters has for us next.

Long lived Devlin Moore’s been on his own since his first shift at 15 and received the traits and legacy of the legendary white wolf, fated to be the packless, solitary handler of rogue wolf problems. But there are impossibly three of them and all are hearing rumors of a mage intent on capturing one to tap into and mimic their immortality. Done with his last assignment, Devlin’s ready to take a vacay but is notified he needs to take care of a rogue in New York.

Hunting the rogue, Devlin is pulled toward human graphic artist Zoe Galvani and realizes, she’s been marked by the rogue. Devlin’s surprised he’s drawn for a different reason, like drawn to Zoe as in fated. As Devlin and Zoe try to stay ahead of/away from a flurry of rogues a mage steps up her magic to make Zoe more irresistible to Devlin and him more vulnerable. Zoe believes she’s the reason they keep being found but can’t leave though she tries. Devlin and Zoe try teamwork.

This reader enjoyed the series foundation offering from a new to me author. Pluses included pre-explained subtle differences in the world that kept it different from the usual shifter romance, the clearly drawn leads had good chemistry and stayed true throughout, the plot was fun and any holes were tiny enough to ignore, overlook or not notice.

I am absolutely smitten with NJ Walters werewolves. So addicted to all of her werewolf books, and this one is no exception. I devoured this book the first day I got it, couldn’t stop reading it…and didn’t want to stop reading it.

Werewolves, mages and humans, oh my. This book had a lot going on, fast paced from the first chapter, all the way to the end. Devlin is what they call a lone wolf in the werewolf world, and normally there is only one, hence the lone wolf, but when he turned, there were 2 others that turned as well, making three in the world at the same time. Lone wolves are the bringer of justice in the werewolf world, hunting down rogue werewolves. Lone wolves are bigger, stronger, and let’s not forget they are immortal as well. I know, I know they are total badasses. He is hunting down a rogue when he runs into Zoe, and saves her. Then he coincidentally runs into her again later. This starts them on their fast paced addicting journey, with all the twists, and the undeniable chemistry between them that they can’t fight.

Safe read, with mates. Great storyline that will leave you wanting more…nowish. This was an addicting book, and I can’t wait to read more of the lone wolves.

The first book in a new paranormal trilogy I couldn't resist
And it turned out to be a story not to be missed!
Eighty-five years ago three lone wolves first shifted
To become judge and executioner, they're especially gifted.

The lone wolves are white, black and grey
With hair and eyes that match they say.
The three are loners, never meeting each other,
But maybe fate has other plans for them to discover?

Devlin is the white wolf's name
Hunting rogue wolves is his game.
So why does he feel the need to go out of his way
To New York City today?

Whilst there he meets Zoe Galvani who is human it is true
So why is he pulled to her, what should he do?
It seems she's being targeted by a rogue but now
He can't believe she's his mate - how?

As magic, mystery and danger entwine
Maybe their fate is something divine?
Finding out what forces are at play
Will have them working together night and day.

A story packed with romance, drama and more
As the two discover what fate has in store.
A brilliant, well paced read that kept me reading
So now the next books in the series are what I'm needing!

For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.
