This series will feature the Hellhounds who hide in the human world as the Devil Dogs MC. These men/hounds are all huge, alpha men who live life just a little bit on the wild side. When the hounds were created, they weren’t given emotions. But if or when they find their true mate, their emotions will emerge. I do want to warn you that this story is dark and quite twisted. It might have even been a bit too dark for me. Maybe I’m just losing my ability to handle some of the things that happened in this book which is most likely the case. But I know when I close my eyes tonight to sleep, I’ll still be seeing a couple of these scenes behind my eyes.

Relic is a six hundred year old, immortal Hellhound. In his world, six hundred isn’t that old. There were so many others in his club that were much older and deserved to find their mates before him. But fate had other plans. And when he was asked to accompany his female friend into a shop in a bad part of town, he was completely overwhelmed when he saw her, the shop owner. A little five foot tall thing with fiery red hair and he knew his world would never be the same again.
Fern Honeycutt had been hurt by those that were supposed to care for her. When she was seven years old, she was sold to someone who was so evil that there are simply no words. Eventually, though, many years later, she escaped. For five years she’s been free. Fern is part witch and part demon but the demon part of her is the strongest. She runs a little shop in a demon section of town. It was on a day that a regular customer of hers came in with a Hellhound protector and suddenly her world turned upside down.
Relic couldn’t stay away from Fern, even if he wanted to, which he doesn’t. He’ll insinuate himself into her life in any way possible until he can convince her to trust him enough to accept him as her mate. But she’s nowhere near that point yet. So he’ll just pose as her protector. These two have quite a path they must travel before things will work out for them but you need to discover that for yourself when you read this. I can honestly say that once you start, you won’t be able to put it down. I’ve really been looking forward to reading about these hounds. But as I said, this might have been just a bit over my boundaries of what I can handle. One thing is for certain, though, you can’t help but love these men. They are so over the top protective of their females. Relic will go to the ends of the earth for his mate, whether she wants him to or not. So buckle up everyone, and get ready for Relic and Fern.

Ancient Desire is book five in the Forgotten Brotherhood series by N.J. Walters. I adore this series and even more, I adore the covers of the books! This book was just a little bit different than the others in that it seemed a little more light hearted. The banter between our two main characters made me smile. But there is also plenty of steam and suspense as the brotherhood tries to again defend a brother from an enemy.
“Something or someone was waking. Trouble was coming.”
Lucius, is a drakon, half dragon, half human. He is four thousand years old. He was part of the Forgotten Brotherhood, a band of paranormal assassins that only kill the worst of the worst in the paranormal world. But three hundred years ago, he had given up and went into a deep sleep which he shouldn’t have been able to be woken up from. But then “she” came into the cave.
Raine Carson was a university teacher of myths and legends. When she is contacted about receiving a grant and told about a beautiful dragon statue deep in a cave, she can’t wait to document it. But things didn’t go as planned and she finds herself trapped in the cave with a dragon that isn’t a statue at all!
Raine had no idea that the subjects she taught her students about were real. That the myths she read about in her books walked among them! She was both terrified and intrigued with this beautiful dragon she found herself trapped with. And Lucius doesn’t know what to make of this woman who should be cowering in the corner but instead is confronting him. Who brought these two together? And why? Now it is his job to keep her safe.
Both Lucius and Raine feel the pull to each other and it doesn’t take them long to give in to it. But they also need to figure out who is after them. They don’t know who to trust including Lucius’s friends in the Brotherhood. Do they still stand behind him or are they against him?
“He’d lay waste to the world to keep her safe.”
Keeping Raine safe is a full time job since time and time again she literally throws herself into the middle of things when Lucius tells her to stay back. And every time, he falls deeper for her. And Raine can’t imagine what this sexy man/drakon sees in her, an accident prone teacher.
This really was fun. Raine was so brave and definitely kept Lucius on his toes, or claws, whichever form he was in! And poor Lucius definitely can’t seem to control his protectiveness over Raine, even when confronting the angry archangel Gabriel. Raine and Lucius seem to have plenty of enemies but as they fight to stay alive, their bond strengthens.
We didn’t get to see as many of the other characters in this book except Maccus and Morrigan. Also Sven from the previous book makes an appearance and a new character, Rivka. Could this be a hint at what might be to come in the future? If so, I’m all in! I also want to mention that if you enjoy meeting Lucius, Ms. Walters has another entire series in the drakon world that I loved, Blood of the Drakon.
“I have seen the seven wonders of the ancient world. You are the eighth. No, you are the wonder of wonders.”

I first Because You Rejected Me is book one in the brand new series, Shifter Grove Rogue Wolves by Blake Wolfe. This is my first book by this author. I first noticed the cover of this one while I was scrolling. It’s no secret that cowboy hats are a weakness of mine! So I decided this was a great place to finally jump in.
Matt is twenty years old and is about as low as a person could get. After catching him in bed with the Alpha of his pack’s son, he was told to leave, he no longer had a pack. And his family cut him out of their lives as well. He was given a business card with the name of a hotel in Shifter Grove, Michigan so that’s where he decided he needed to go. Where else was he to go with no money, barely more than the clothes on his back and no car.
Ace has been in Shifter Grove for around ten years. After suffering a similar experience of his own, he got himself on his feet, bought a small piece of land to farm on and build himself a cabin. He keeps to himself, keeping his heart locked down. Until he walked into Sam’s hotel kitchen and there “HE” was. The word “mate” just fell right out of his mouth, scaring the young man like crazy.
This was a really sweet story of second chances. Not second chances with each other but a second chance at life, at finding happiness. It’s pretty steamy too so get your fan set up and ready to go! Both of these men so deserved to finally find true love, to find someone they could trust. I loved the found family all the residents have formed. But, perhaps not everyone is thrilled that Matt is starting over somewhere else?
I got through this pretty quickly and love the world this author has created. I love the idea of this little town where rogues can go to find a safe environment. The next book in the series will be their friend Andy’s book in Losing My Rejection.

Protecting the Gray Wolf is book two in the Lone Wolf Legacy series by N.J. Walters. When I read the first book in this series, Taming the White Wolf, I fell madly in love with this world and these characters. I have been so excited to meet the Gray wolf and the woman who was destined to be his mate, and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait to tell you a little bit about it.
Kade Alvarez knew as soon as he made his first transition to a wolf at age fifteen that he wasn’t like other wolves. He was one of the fabled Lone Wolves, a wolf that would have no pack, no family, and would spend his immortal existence roaming the world, acting as both judge and executioner of rogue wolves who senselessly kill, putting both other wolves and humans in danger. Kade is now about one hundred years old. He’s been drawn to New York, to an art studio, although he doesn’t know why. Until he sees her.
Historically there has always only been one lone wolf in existence at a time. But now there are three, one white, one gray, and one black. They operate alone, in the shadows. They have never met, but they know of each other. But now, someone is hunting them, someone wants their immortality.
Luna West is twenty four years old and lives in New York. She works at an art gallery and in her own time, she sketches and paints. They are having a showing when “he” walks in. She is drawn to him from the start. But why? Little did she know the importance this stranger would play in her future.
“They’d been drawn together by forces outside their control, but what simmered between them went beyond magic.”
Luna and Kade would soon realize that Luna was but a pawn in a years in the making plan to capture him. But, as they spend time together, their bond strengthens and they are determined to defeat the evil forces at work against the lone wolves.
This was another suspenseful but still sweet and swoony story that kept me on the edge of my seat. There were more than one times that I just couldn’t see how they were going to get out of their current predicament. I just finished reading this and am ALREADY so excited for the last book, the black wolf’s book. I have a feeling that book is going to be epic!

This is a Wolf’s Midlife Christmas is book eight in the Shifter Nation: Marked over Forty series by Meg Ripley. This is my first book by this author. This is a sweet, sexy, holiday wolf shifter romance with a touch of suspense.
Tiffany Fairmount is forty eight years old, owns and runs her own cafe, First Light Cafe, and also has guardianship of her twin, two year old grandchildren, Sam and Sophie. They are adorable by the way!! Between the kids and the cafe, Tiffany is exhausted. Add in the stress of the holidays and she’s barely getting through the days. When her friend convinces her to get a baby sitter and go out to hear her favorite rock band who is performing at a local club, she decides she deserves this night out. With a few drinks, she decides to try crowd surfing and we’ll just say it didn’t turn out the way she hoped it would. But it would also be the moment that changed her life.
Declan Ridgefield is forty five years old and is the lead singer for the world famous rock band, Wildwood. They are home for a short break and are doing a local concert when he finds her, the one person he had given up on ever finding, his fated mate.
Declan and Tiffany’s lives couldn’t be more different. Tiffany is forever tied to their town and Declan’s life is on the road. How can they ever make it work? To find your mate is a dream but it’s a dream Tiffany is convinced can’t work out. Her priorities have to be the kids and her business.
This was a fairly quick read and I enjoyed it. Tiffany had so much on her shoulders. And I liked these two together. They just had to figure out how to make it work. The little bit of suspense added just enough to keep me turning the pages. This can definitely be enjoyed as a stand alone. I haven’t read any of the other books and had no problem jumping in.

Helena Quade is half human and half shifter. She lives with her father on the pack ranch, the Quade ranch. Helena’s mother is a human. Her pack has no tolerance for human/wolf mates. Her alpha who is her grandfather, forbids it. Still, his own son married a human but she was made to be so unwelcome that she lives elsewhere by herself.
Helena has dreams of proving her worth to her grandfather and working her way up the ladder at the ranch. She is practically running the ranch now. She takes care of everything, giving the male members of the pack the freedom to play. But her grandfather won’t have it. He has never treated Helena respectfully and now he is literally firing her. Their pack is traveling to the VonBrandt’s ranch in Somewhere, Texas for the wolf run and her grandfather has issued an order. Find a mate by the end of the weekend!

Ash Carmichael is almost thirty years old. He spent his youth raising his younger sister but now he is a thrill seeker. He rarely spends time in Somewhere with his sister but is trotting off all over the place finding new adventures. But a broken ankle has grounded him for an extended period of time. So he’s home, at least for now. While sitting in the local bar he noticed her as soon as she came in. She was beautiful. This is just what he needed, a beautiful woman to spend the night with, to forget that he is stuck here until his ankle heals.

Ash and Helena shared a night filled with passion and so much more. They talked, they laughed, and they shared an intense connection neither of them expected. But this was a one night stand. Ash had no idea that Helena was more than just a human woman. That on the night of the full moon, she shifted into a beautiful wolf and ran. So when Ash was asleep, Helena had to force herself to leave. To go back to the VonBrandt’s ranch to prepare for the run. And to try to find her true mate. But try as she might, there was no spark with any of the other shifters. Nothing. All she could think about was Ash. And when she started to experience pain that Ash was feeling, the truth hit her. Ash was her fated match. A human! This would never work. Her grandfather would never permit it. There had to be a way to stop it!
When Ash awakens and discovers Helena gone, he knows he has to find her. That this wasn’t a one night stand at all. It was so much more. But he never did get her phone number. How will he find her?

I did enjoy this book. I love going back to Somewhere, Texas and visiting the VonBrandts. Both Ash and Helena definitely had pasts to overcome. Ash with the loss of his childhood and Helena with the perception of human/shifter matches because of her grandfather. Neither of them was prepared for what happened when they met but Fate had a plan for them. All they have to do is to trust that Fate will work everything out.
“The one time she’d let go of her lists and planners and organization…he’d been there waiting. Fate had been waiting.”

I just did finish the last page of this book and I can’t even think of how to tell you how amazing this book was! In true N.J. Devlin Moore is somewhere around one hundred years old. He knew as soon as he had his first transition at age fifteen that he was no ordinary wolf. He was the White Wolf. A wolf destined to live his life alone, no pack, no family, no mate. His job was to travel the world, eliminating rogue wolves that were a threat! Devlin feels the pull to New York City, and there encounters not only a rogue, but also a human woman whose eyes look strikingly like his.
Zoe Galvani is a graphic artist living in her tiny apartment in New York City. Zoe is also a loner. She doesn’t date or have any real friendships. But she’s proud of her business and the life she has built in the big city. Her life is structured and quiet. Until the day she is literally rescued from death by a gigantic man. A man she should have felt afraid of but somehow felt safe with. A man whose eyes looked just like hers. A man who was going to change her life.
“Something about her called to him on a primal level that would not be denied.”
Zoe soon learned that the world was nothing like she thought it was. That humans weren’t the only beings inhabiting it. That werewolves were real. And that somehow she had become a target in some unknown person’s game. One thing she does know, though, is that no matter what Devlin is, wolf or man, he won’t hurt her. He will keep her safe. And that they are stronger together than apart.
“Her reality had been shaken to the core and turned upside down. Nothing was certain or steady. Nothing but Devlin.”
I’ve read a bunch of N.J.’s books now and still, every time, I am bowled over! She just jumps right in from the start, grabs ahold of the reader, and keeps us on the edge until that final page. I couldn’t help but to fall so in love with these two. And I was right there with them as they fought both to survive and to find happiness together. There are two other wolves that are the same as Devlin. Now that Devlin has found his mate, we’ll be on to one of the others to see what new adventure awaits. I am so excited to see what comes next!

Unavoidable Truth is book three in the Fated Mates series by Jess Bryant. This can be easily read as a stand alone. There are some events that have previously happened that leads up to this book but I was easily brought up to date and didn’t feel lost at all. This is a MM, fated mates, very slow burn, shifter romance.
Darius Moreno is the head enforcer of the Moirae Pack. His job is to protect his alpha who is also his friend, Michael. Darius doesn’t have any family but Michael and the pack are his family and he would gladly give his life for his alpha’s if it was required.
Leo DeLuca was meant to be the alpha of the neighboring pack, the Crescent Pack. But a crazed wolf killed his father, who was the alpha, and kidnapped his three sisters. Leo needs help to take his pack back and rescue his sisters so he goes to Michael and the Moirae Pack for their assistance.
There couldn’t have been a more inconvenient time for it to happen but as soon as Leo stepped out of the car at Michael’s lodge, he knew. The man, the enforcer Darius, standing on the front porch, was his fated mate. Darius knew it immediately as well. But his life has revolved around protecting Michael and their pack and he never thought that would change. Now was not the time for this. They had to rescue the DeLuca sisters and get Leo’s pack back.
Both Leo and Darius know there is no way to avoid fate. But Darius wants to wait, to put off the mating until he is ready. He never anticipated this happening and needs time to adjust. What he doesn’t realize is that fighting against it only hurts them both.
“Fate had sent him an angel”
I love fated mates romance but didn’t expect this to be quite as slow burn as it was. I was expecting something a little faster. Even though I did understand Darius’s need for time. This had a surprisingly sweet ending and at the end, I did truly feel the love between these two. The next book is Leo’s sister Maya’s book in Unmistakable Mate.

I have been loving this series since the first book and was looking forward to Desi’s book. The military brother who finally came home.
Master Sergeant Desi Mitchell, U.S. Marine Corp, has come home. After years of being separated from his family he is ready to finally settle down. After watching his brothers fall in love and seeing Dax’s twins born, he wants that for himself, a wife and children. But on his own terms. His dad is pressuring him to be a part of the family construction business but he wants to start his own security company.

Kora Meredith is an author very well known for her thrillers. Her first book was made in to a successful movie. Kora thought she was living the life in Los Angeles when she was randomly targeted in a home invasion. Ever since then, she has suffered from PTSD and suffers from panic attacks. Kora has moved to Estes Park for what she plans as a two year change of scenery. She plans to open a children’s book store in an old historic building with much past history.
The first time Desi and Kora met, they both felt it, a strange electrical connection. Then Kora started experiencing the dreams of Desi, things she couldn’t know since they had never met. Desi is sure that Kora is his mate. But the last thing that Kora wants is any type of relationship. She has nothing to offer. Some days she can’t even force herself to leave the house. So she is dedicated to keeping Desi in the friend zone.
At the same time, a national treasure hunt has come to town, causing all sorts of havoc. Some of it somehow connected to Kora’s new book store. No matter the nature of their relationship, Desi will keep Kora safe. It’s what he has to do. He can only hope that in time, she’ll accept him in the way he has already accepted her.
I really enjoyed this one. I believe it’s a bit more of a slow burn than the other two. For some reason, I couldn’t fall in love with Kora as much as I wanted to. I felt so bad for Desi with the pressure from his dad and also Kora’s rejection. This was fast paced and fun and I did love getting to know these two. I’m so excited for the next book in the series, Wild in The Woods. It will be Fox Mitchell’s book who is Desi’s friend. I can’t wait to meet Lulu, the woman who he won’t be able to resist!

Walking in a Witchy Wonderland is book #3.5 in the Stay a Spell series by Juliette Cross. This was a super fun, super sexy group of five short stories featuring our favorite Savoie Sisters over the Christmas holiday.
“This was my safe place. My heaven on earth. My Christmas wish come true.”
Bewitch You A Merry Christmas features Evie and Mateo and of course, Mateo’s inner wolf, Alpha. Evie needs to remove a hex from a customer but of course, wants to find out who and why the hex was put on him so it won’t happen again. But all Mateo (and Alpha) want is to get their Evie alone. Since this was our first couple, it’s been awhile since I read this one and I loved revisiting them and seeing how much these two love each other.
Rockin’ Around The Hexmas Tree features Isadora and Devraj. At their family gift exchange, a particular ornament makes the rounds and ends up with Izzy and Dev. This ornament makes for some fun sexy times between these two whose sexy times didn’t really need a boost. This was so much fun.
Jingle Bell Jock might be my favorite of the five stories. This one features our favorite bartender, JJ and his best friend, Charlie. On New Years Eve someone is putting the moves on Charlie. Charlie has been secretly in love with his best friend, JJ but has given up that he will ever feel the same way. Maybe it’s time he finally moves on. But JJ has his own moment when he realizes he doesn’t want his best friend seeing another man. He wants him for himself.
You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grim featured Livvy and Gareth Blackwater who is a Grim. This was a little sneak peak into a couple that hasn’t had a book yet and I loved it. The Grims are so mysterious and I can’t wait to get to know Gareth better.
Jingle Spells featured Nico and Violet. This was probably the sweetest of the five stories. Nico and Violet are spending the evening babysitting Nico and Evie’s triplets! Yes, I said triplets. It’s a challenging night but these two did great with these three little ones. And seeing each other in the caregiver role definitely sets off their maternal feelings. Maybe it’s time for them to start working on their own family? Or, just have some fun practicing!
All five of these stories made me smile so big. I love this series and revisiting everyone made me so excited for the next book, Always Practice Safe Hex. I’m pretty sure I know who it will be about but we’ll just have to wait to be sure!
Sweeter Than Honey is book two in the Estes Park Shifters series by Liz Paffel. I loved the first book in this series, Bear in a Bakery. But me being Sweeter Than Honey is book two in the Estes Park Shifters series by Liz Paffel. I loved the first book in this series, Bear in a Bakery. But me being me, I got distracted by something else and didn’t grab this when it came out. Well, I finally did and it was fantastic. This is Jett’s book.
Jett Mitchell is Dax’s brother from the first book. Jett lost his wife and daughter three years ago in an accident and he has never moved on from his grief. He spends more time than he should in his bear form, roaming the woods, to escape his grief instead of dealing with it. Jett lives in his home up on the mountain raising honey bees and some organic vegetables.

Cara Neal lives in Kansas City. She built her jewelry making business from scratch, winning the Entrepreneur of the Year award. A little too much celebrating led to a one night stand. Now she is faced with the results of that night, a baby on the way. But when Cara goes in search of the baby’s father to tell him, things don’t go as planned and Cara is forced to flee, leaving everything behind.
Cara ends up in Estes, Colorado and literally runs into Jett. He’s grumbly and broody and the hottest thing Cara has ever seen. She needs help and even though Jett wants nothing to do with anything but his bees up on his mountain, he just can’t seem to say no. He may not be able to offer Cara anything but protection but he would keep her safe.
“I guess that says a lot about your personality, huh? Nothing else can stand to be around you but a swarm of insects that’ll sting you when you get sassy.”
Try as they might to keep their feelings from growing, they do. But Jett is determined that he can’t be anything to Cara but a protector.
“Maybe this Estes Park pack would protect her from rogue shifters. But who was going to protect her from Jett?”

First, all of the covers for this series are amazing. It’s what first drew me to the first book. I love every one of them. Jett and Cara were wonderful. Both were at a point in their lives where they needed to let their pasts go and move forward. They were just what each other needed to help that process along. But there is danger lurking and Jett has to keep Cara safe long enough to figure out what he wants to do. Now I’m ready for the next book in the series, A Bear in a Bookstore, which is Jett and Dax’s brother, Desi’s book. I can’t wait to get started.

Witches Get Stitches is book three in the Stay a Spell series by Juliette Cross. This is Violet and Nico’s book and I can’t wait for you to meet them.
Violet Savoie is one of the six Savoie sisters, and is also the twin sister of Clara. Violet is a witch, a Divine Seer. She’s been working in her family’s bar, The Cauldron, for years now trying to save up money for her dream, to start her own tattoo parlor. Violet and Nico first meet on a New Years Eve when she is in Austin. Their encounter is short and hot. Violet has no interest in relationships, especially not with this sexy werewolf. She was certainly shocked when a year later, Nico shows up in her own city of New Orleans, on stage at the very bar she works at.

Nico Cruz is a werewolf who was part of a pack in Austin. Nico knew he needed to get out of Austin, that he needed to separate himself from the pack. When he met the bewitching Violet, she gave him the reason he needed for leaving. He knew right away that Violet was important to him. She might run, but he would follow her. He and his wolf wanted Violet and he would wait for as long as it took for her to figure out what they could be together.

Violet and Nico become friends, and then business partners when Violet opens her own tattoo shop, Empress Ink. Violet wants to do more than just to express her art on people’s bodies. She wants to use her tattoo gift to help supernaturals, to combine her magic and her art to especially help werewolves who struggle to control their wolf side. Violet has been struggling with her attraction to Nico since he stepped foot in New Orleans. Now they are business partners, so even though she knows Nico is also attracted to her, she keeps him in the friend zone. But she isn’t sure how much longer she’s going to be able to deny this chemistry that has been sizzling between them.
I swear, Nico is the most patient man I’ve ever seen. His feelings for Violet are so strong and true, that he’ll wait as long as it takes for her to come to him. For her to realize the possibility of what they can be. But just when they are finally making progress, his old pack from Austin shows up, and it seems like they want to stir up trouble. You haven’t seen anything until you see how a werewolf reacts to someone touching his woman!

Did I say that Nico plays guitar and sings? Did I say that he was walking and talking sex on a stick and he would do anything and everything for Violet? This man/werewolf waited a long time for her to figure things out. He might have finally helped her along a little bit in the end but wow! How could I not love this guy?!

This was a fun addition to this series. I loved seeing more of Evie and Mateo together as well as Izzy and Devraj. We also got to know Livvy and Clara better. How about Violet’s bow tie wearing rooster, Fred? We also get to know a little bit more about the Grims, another kind of supernatural that lives in their community. They are so mysterious but I suspect in coming books, we’ll get to know one particular one of them even better. I’m not sure who it will focus on but the next book in the series, book four, will be Always Practice Safe Hex. I can’t wait to find out more!

Bearly Married is book #0.5 in the Shift series by Zoe Ashwood. This is my very first book by Zoe.
Alexandre Thibault is a bear shifter. He has been forced to become alpha of his clan after the disappearance of his sister and the inability of his father to take care of things. But his job is full of challenges with disappearing finances and so much that needs doing. His cousin is challenging him for leadership so Alexandre needs to find a wife to strengthen his position and she needs to be a pureblood shifter. This doesn’t leave him many choices. He’s down to his last possibility which is how he came to be on Christine’s family’s doorstep.
Christine Bergeron is also a bear shifter. After growing up under the controlling thumb of her father, she needs to get away. If the only way to do that is through an arranged marriage, she’ll risk it. When she met Alexandre, though, her hopes blossomed. He was not only handsome, he seemed like a good man. Not to mention that he seemed as attracted to her as she was to him.
As Christine transitions to life in Alexandre’s clan, their relationship strengthens. But, she is also trying to find her place here, to finally spread the wings that her father kept restrained. Being the clan’s alpha’s wife, though, can also be dangerous. Not everyone is happy with Alexandre’s position and will do whatever it takes to achieve their own goals.

This was a great introduction to this series! The writing pulled me in. The author quickly made me care for these two characters. It was surprisingly suspenseful as well, something I didn’t expect. I enjoyed this very much and look forward to checking out more of this series.
