Norman
Finding that one, right person seems impossible for me. Not only am I stupidly awkward around omegas, but I live in the middle of a tiny, remote town where I spend my days keeping an eye on our national park. The most exciting folks I meet are deer and raccoon. Despite what the matchmaking agency said, I can’t imagine anyone who would want to live here, especially not the beautiful young man they’ve supposedly found for me.
But when Bentley comes to visit, he actually seems to like it here; he brightens my cabin with his unwavering positivity and shining eyes. Even my dog is in love with him. Is there a chance he’ll stay? Forever?

Bentley
My friends think I’m crazy, but I want a picket fence and kids before thirty, and I’m tired of trying to find that in a hectic, unfriendly city. Then the matchmaking agency sends me pics of Norman Hardy—a conservation officer at a northern national park and my chest fills with butterflies. Nearly two thousand miles is a long way to go for a blind date, but he’s supposed to be the man of my of course I’m going.
My host is sweet and kind, his cabin in the mountains is breathtaking, and the quirky inhabitants of Quack Lake welcome me with open arms, except Norman acts nervous and awkward around me. If I want something more than a friendly visit, I guess I’m going to have to take the first step.

Perfect Match Agency is a multi-author gay romance series. The stories are non-shifter omegaverse with high heat and low angst. Male pregnancy is possible in the world. Each book is a standalone with a new couple and a satisfying happily ever after. Faraway Match is the fourth book in the series. It features a shy, lonely alpha and a sunshine omega who’ll bring him happiness.

Faraway Match is the fourth book in the Perfect Match series. This one is by Roe Horvat. I think this is my favorite cover of the series. Maybe because I was smitten with the place Norman lived and the cover shows the beautiful scenery. Including the hero on the cover!!!

Norman Hardy is a conservation officer. He lives in a beautiful log cabin and spends his days with his German Shepherd hiking the trails of the state park he oversees. He loves the life he leads. He loves the peace and quiet. But he’s lonely. He wants a mate, he wants children. There is a tiny town where he can get groceries and visit his friends. But life here is so different than in a city. It’s a life not many would appreciate. So Norman chose to go to the Perfect Match Agency to try to find his own perfect match.

Bentley Knowles is twenty eight years old. He lives in the city but the crowds, the subways, the impersonal nature of everyday life is weighing him down. Bentley also wants to fall in love, to have children. He has dated but nothing felt right. So he went to the Perfect Match Agency for his match. When the match he is given is two thousand miles away, Bentley doesn’t hesitate. It’s a long way to go for a date with a man you’ve never met in person. But he has to believe in the agency. If this is his perfect match, he’s not going to pass up what could be the best thing to ever happen to him.

I loved Norman’s little community. His friends were quirky and hilarious. I adored his dog. Norman was quiet and shy to Bentley’s outgoing sunshiny personality. And I have to give Bentley so much credit. It was such a brave thing to do, to pack a suitcase and travel so far away to meet Norman. And even after he got there, he was always so up-beat. So ready for a new adventure, no matter the weather or whatever else was thrown at them. He was perfect for Norman.

This was a sweet, steamy alpha/omega romance that I really enjoyed. The ending was wonderful. Now, I can’t wait to read the next book, Second Match, by Wendy Rathbone.

“Between making me come and making me swoon, he made me laugh. Could anyone blame me for falling head over heels?”

Faraway Match is the fourth book in the multi-author series Perfect Match Agency and Roe’s second entry.

We have Norman, an Alpha and conservation officer in a beautifully scenic region near the Canadian border. He loves his home, dog Pretzel, and his work but has been feeling lonely, wanting to find the perfect Omega, his mate. He signed up for Perfect Match Agency in the hopes of connecting with someone he could start a family and share his life with.

Bentley wants to find his perfect Alpha. After refusing an engagement to a wealthy socialite Alpha he just wants to find someone he can create a quiet and simple life with. He gets notified that they have found a match that is over 90%, but he lives over 2000 miles away.

Farway Match is my favourite of the series so far. It was a quick, sweet, no angst, and erotic story of two soul mates who find each other.

I’ve said this before, but I just adore the Alphas that Roe writes. Norman was such a gentle giant type. Total lumberjack outdoorsy man. He was so wholesome, sweet, and considerate, and just wanted to make Bentley’s visit the best experience possible despite mother nature having her own plans. I loved how emotional he got because of how much he was falling for Bentley and worried that he might lose him.

They have an instant connection but take their time mainly on Norman’s end, as he is a bit reserved and doesn’t want to make a move yet. Bentley however, lets him know that he’s ready and wants their growing relationship to take the next step. It’s all fast-paced still since it’s a shorter book, but when you also meet your perfect match, it’s no surprise.

Bentley’s erotic dirty talk, the intense emotional, sensual sex scenes and the swoony romance were lovely to read. I loved how Norman (once he becomes more confident) was sexually forward and all Alpha but also so caring. As with Roe’s omegaverse stories, the spice was at 100. I especially enjoyed the rimming scenes.

“Norman licked me out, kissed and tongue-fucked me while stroking my cock with his huge, rough hand. Soon, I gave him what he wanted. I twitched with the orgasm, and Norman sucked on my rim, drinking my slick out of me.”

“You’re my Alpha. Want your cum in my womb. Only yours. Fuck it open and breed me....Your cum. I’ll go into heat just for you. Fuck me every day. Make me go into heat and fuck my womb.”

The heat scenes were shorter and towards the end, but we got pregnancy and a birthing scene in the epilogue which I loved. The side characters were all great! I loved Cary and Gigi.

Overall I enjoyed Faraway Match it was a delightful omegaverse read. I can go on and on about Roe's writing and his omegaverse stories forever. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and excited for Gigi's story.

Norman is a shy, slightly awkward bear of an alpha most at home in nature, hoping against hope he can find an omega who wants a quiet life in a cabin at the edge of a forest.

Bentley is a cheerful, confident omega completely done with big city life. He falls for the idyllic small town, Norm's homey log house, and, most of all, Norman himself, who's gentle and dependable.

I liked that there is some real conversations and solid relationship development before the men get down and dirty.

And I absolutely loved Pretzel the dog and how important he is to the story.

I hate it when authors neglect the dog after the first couple scenes, like the dog sort of hovers in the background like a cute but forgotten accessory.

That's not the case here. Bentley is a properly loved and present.

Roe for the win again!

who would’ve thought that a roe book without a heat would be boring? probably me, but i didn’t think it could happen.

listen, i’m going to be honest, i think we’re all here for the raunchy heat sex. if you aren’t, i truly don’t know why you read those books. but i digress. i’m not saying that there isn’t any smut, but but it’s definitely not like his other books.

i did appreciate norman, but when you take away what should’ve been the focus, aka the erotic part, you end up with a book lacking in plot and character development. i usually overlook those in roe’s books because it’s definitely not the focus of the book.

i also liked the end, but it’s definitely not enough.

The Perfect Match Agency uses pheromone and personality tests to find it's clients the perfect match.

In Faraway Match, the agency have matched Norman and Bentley.

The results came in, and it was official; Norman Hardy was the single most lovable man in the world.

Norman is a conservation officer based in a remote town in the north. He's shy around omegas. He's a gentle giant bear and downright adorable. He's lonely and a bad experience with an ex has left him disbelieving that anyone would want to move to his remote town to live with him and his dog.

Bentley lives in a big city, but he doesn't enjoy the hustle and bustle like his roommates and friends do. And it's not until he visits Norman that he realises just how jaded his is with city life. They really are a perfect match, but they still have to work through their issues to get there.

Horvat does a wonderful job of weaving in those important relationship development moments with some scorching hot smut!

“Dick report! Dick report! Dick report!” he chanted while I burst out laughing.

Note for future me: you've read and loved all published books by Roe Horvat that aren't omegaverse. Now stop. It doesn't make sense to try again and again yet another omegaverse book, just because Roe Horvat wrote them, hoping to finally love those, too.

Loved:
◇ Norman - a gentle giant, caring, tender, and a bit shy
◇ Bentley - sweet and confident Omega, surprisingly good at dirty talk
◇ Cuddles and getting to know each other
◇ Likable secondary characters
◇ Pretzel, the dog - adorable and affectionate
◇ Sexy times. There were not as many of those as usual - it was sort of a slow burn for Roe Horvat, but it worked for me here

⚠️ LOTS OF FLUIDS

If you’ve read RH before ya’know what you’re in for. 😉

This was filthy and fluffy. ♥︎
TINY bit of angst that was resolved very quickly by COMMUNICATION.
Great small town vibes!

Just a sweet story about a perfect match coming together. ☺️

. . . . . .
Why not 5 stars?

Personally, I’m always wishing for more sweet moments to balance out the sex. I know what I’m getting with this author and it’s SEX SEX SEX but the way that the stories are written make the characters have so much tenderness towards each other while still maintaining all that omegaverse goodness that I can’t stay away. Roe Horvat is really in a league of their own, since I love the characters I’ll always come back for more, even if I have to skim a few spicy scenes along the way. ◡̈

Let’s talk about the angst. I’m someone that doesn’t like angst in the relationship unless it’s done to magnify feelings and it’s done right. Here, when Bentley is going back home for a conference and Norman still hasn’t asked him to stay, I thought we were gonna get the typical lack of communication with each assuming the worst of each other and Bentley flying back home thinking Norman didn’t want him. That’s no what happens ! They communicate ! And it’s great! But I wanted them to suffer a little bit while apart ? I would’ve liked more texts and interactions during their week apart. Norman being worried Bentley wouldn’t actually return and Bentley’s phone dying and his flight being super delayed so it looks like he’s not coming back but when he gets to the cabin we get this big explosion of emotion, love and relief at being back together. ( Yes, I’m extra 💅🏻)

This was a little TOO PERFECT, even for me. But hands down my favorite couple of all this author’s works I’ve read. 🥰

. . . . .
This was my first time with MPREG where the birth AND nursing was on page. I think I’ve gotten over the initial shock of male pregnancy but the male breast feeding was new and a little weird for me, I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. 🤔

Anyway, if that’s not your thing, don’t worry it’s a very short part of the epilogue.

. . . .

Honorable mentions:
Pretzel 🥨 🐕
Bentley’s friends
Norman’s friends / town locals

My ratings always reflect my enjoyment of the story.

Take one awkward Alpha named Norman, a conservation officer in a tiny little town close to the Canadian border, and one confident but sweet omega called Bentley who'd love to escape the big city life for a quieter existence, and combine the two with nosy, but well-meaning people in said tiny little town, sweeping vistas and forests, and you get Faraway Match.

Very enjoyable quick read, with immediate attraction but not immediate bedroom antics. This actually allowed the romance to take center stage. And yes, there's sexy times, which this author writes so well, but that's not all he wrote here.

So far, probably my favorite from this series.

EEE I loved this book! I love a shy alpha, and Norman is just so endearing. And I love Pretzel. Norman is worried that he won't find an omega with how isolating and mundane his job is. He reaches out to the Perfect Match agency and they find him a mate - only, one that lives nearly 2000 miles away.

Bentley was so sweet, really a - ahem - perfect match! for Norman lol. I loved the chemistry between these two. As usual, Roe can write a perfect blend of romance with eroticism, explicit scenes and then boom - schmoopy romance! And I love it. Honestly, Roe doesn't write a bad book!

No drama, some fun friends from both of them, and high heat make this a great entry into this series. Now write me more dragons, Roe! :D

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In fairness I bought this in a spell of insomnia, wary but wanting something new to read.

A/O verse. I've read some fanfics but honestly I don't get it. I don't get mpreg.
I'm distracted wondering if women exist in this world.

The couple are very cute. Their friends and neighbours are fun.
Didn't see Norman's supposed inability to talk to people, seems to do ok.

I quit at 53% and it's very much 'not you it's me' messy 'slick' fests don't appeal. I may skim through but unlikely.

Pretzel is a good doggo though, I love when dog characters are present and stay present, rather than introduced then forgotten.

It’s no secret I love everything this author writes. EVERYTHING!
This story was hugely enthralling, I read it in one sit, plastered on the pages.

The concept is so smart. A Perfect Match Agency combines all the information and finds the perfect match. For omega Bentley, he has to travel far, but he wants to try, what if he finds the love of his life?
When he arrived, in the middle of nowhere, a gentle big bearded Alpha and his lovely dog Pretzel, welcomes him in their humble cabin.
The alpha is everything he hoped for and more, the nature is breathtaking and Bentley is where he should be.

Norman is anxious, who would want to live here with him in a cabin far from everything, and certainly such an adorable sparkling omega from the big city?

Well… watch them, they are breathtaking, get swooned by all the endearing and arousing pages.

Goosebumps, so much intense sex, and moving love!

It’s Roe omegaverse. Which isn’t my thing but Roe writes the sweetest couples and I was duped by Martina’s review. Based on her review, I thought this one would be light on the sex. It wasn’t. Past 50%, the entire focus was sex, having sex, thinking about sex, talking about sex, friends talking about sex. And yeah, that’s Roe’s omegaverse, very sex centric. Which is fine, but I was so supremely bored. Unlike Martina, I liked the first 50%, I liked the plot. But she’s right, past 50% the story lacks plot and character development because they spent the entire time living and breathing and thinking about sex. So neither of us enjoyed the book but for completely opposite reasons 😆🤣

It doesn’t look like this one is listed as erotica and I didn’t strike me as erotica despite the heavy focus on sex. I guess I expected something closer to Roe’s earlier romance focused m/m rather than their erotica. It falls somewhere in between.

No rating because I should have known better and I skimmed a lot. Up to 50% I’d give it a solid 3 stars. Past that, I simply didn’t enjoy it 🤷🏻‍♀️

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

Faraway Match is the fourth book in the multi-author Perfect Match Agency series. The series features standalone stories all set in the same world and featuring the Perfect Match dating service. However, while tied together by set up and the basic world building, the stories are all standalones and so far don’t seem to contain any overlapping characters (though that appears to change in book 5).

I have read two of the books in the series so far, including Horvat’s Cautious Match, and both had similar starts with the couples matching and almost immediately falling into heat/rut that led to intense sex. So the omegaverse tropes were pretty front and center and the sex happened almost immediately. This story takes a different approach in that Norman and Bentley spend time getting to know each other and, while things ultimately get very hot between them, the actual omega heat comes way later in the book.

Read Jay’s review in its entirety here.

The good
+ Bentley daring to go on a blind date 2000 miles away
+ The honesty in their communication
    + Pretzel
    + Hiking together
+ Bentley's genuine enjoyment for a more rural setting
    + Their sexual compatibility
    + Low angst
+ Bentley getting along with the villagers
+ Norman gathering his courage to ask Bentley to stay

The neutral
o This book was about 60% sex. Not really my preference, but not a surprise either with this author
o I know both characters wanted to start a family sooner rather than later, and I believe that they mentioned it on their profiles as well. But they didn't really talk about that or other plans for the future before deciding whether Bentley would stay

The bad
    - I didn't like Bentley's friends. Bentley used the matchmaking agency because he was looking for a genuine connection, yet his friends kept acting like he traveled 2000 miles for a hookup. They even acted like Bentley was being ridiculous when he expressed his desire to stay. And that one friend kept acting offended that Bentley hadn't accepted his ex's marriage proposal, as if he had any say in who Bentley was going to marry

Quotes
    "Why the name Pretzel?"
"Cary thought a German Shepherd needed a German name, but it was the only German word he knew."

This book delivered exactly what was promised. It was sweet and had low angst, and I just enjoyed reading this. Maybe a bit too much sex for my liking, but at least the reader can rest assured that the characters have chemistry. Would recommend.

The tropes say it all as does the fact it was written by Roe Horvat. Sweet, emotional horniness fated mates <3 Also is there anything better than a doggo who is loved and incorporated into the story naturally? :)

Quotes
"Norman looked amazing if bearded lumberjacks were your type - and they were mine.

"Norman was adorable, his dog was adorable, his cabin was just amazing, and he was quite possibly my dream man. His home smelled like him combined with the clean scent of wood. I inhaled slowly and sighed. Wow again. I found Norman sexy as hell with his wide shoulders, cuddly belly, those jeans, checkered flannel, and that beard..." (p. 43)

NSFW infos:
- younger omega (blue-golden eyes, curly dark hair, birthmark on his cheek, 28)
- older lumberjack alpha
- lots of cockwarming
- no heat but that doesn't keep them from fucking excessively
- spoonfucking
- teasing with fisting and sleeping filled but not shown on page
- strict top/bottom

Ahh, the build-up was sweet and deliciously sexy. This author can write a romance for sure. I skimmed over all of the Omega parts and it was still good. I have to pay closer attention before buying. My aversion to all things male pregnancy is well documented. 🤣

I DNFd this one due to it being so boring I kinda forgot I was reading it. All I can remember about it is that both MCs have pushy awful inappropriate close friends who are meant to be amusing maybe?

I have read and enjoyed most of Horvat’s books. This multi-author match series has so far been consistently forgettable. I’m done.

This was a sweet and romantic story about an omega who travels cross country to meet am alpha he was matched with through an online dating service.

I honk this was one of the sweetest and most heartwarming book of Roe’s that I’ve ever read, Norman and Bentley were just the embodiments of couple perfection and don’t even get me started on the bundle of cuteness overload know as pretzel. As with the other books of the series our Alpha( Norman) and our Omega( Bentley) have sought the scientific matching of the Perfect Match Agency only to find out that they are two thousand miles away from one another. Norman is a sweet and quiet teddy bear of an Alpha, a conservation officer living a quiet wilderness filled live with his dog Pretzel in Quack Lake. Bentley is an Urban living book translator who is looking for something outside of the glittery facade of the city’s dating scene. Bentley soon finds that a tender love, rainy days, and a dog named Pretzle may be everything that he ever dreamed of.

Sweet and funny with just enough hot moments. This is a book that just fills you with warmth and love……like hot chocolate in the form of a book.

I think this marks the end of Roe Horvat being an auto-preorder for me. There was so little character development and plot that I ended up skipping around to confirm this just wasn't for me. Trouble was such a big win for me, but this and the other book in this series were huge disappointments. I'm hoping this is just a temporary blip :(

I enjoyed this! Definitely glad I was warned this was not going to be the 80% smut and 20% plot with heat sex because I was able to manage my expectations. This is probably as slow build as Roe will ever get, but it was still great. There was still substantial amount of sexy times between the sweet and awkward Alpha Norman and his sweet but dirty omega Bentley.

I enjoyed getting to know Bentley and Norman and watching them fall for each other. I also really liked Bentley’s friends Gigi and Skye, and would love to get stories with them. I also loved the charming small town of Quack Lake and would love another story with its quirky people.

Norman and Bentley were so sweet together. I loved every second of this book. Roe certainly does omegaverse right and I never get tired of it.

Poor Norman didn't think he'd ever find the perfect omega. And even when he did, he almost thought it was too good to be true. Bentley was exactly what Norman needed. He was sweet, sensitive to Norman and his past and had the filthiest mouth around. These two were so incredibly compatible. There was little to no angst here, just two people falling in love beautifully.

We get a nice little scene of Bentley's heat, but that's not what the whole book was about and I really enjoyed that. This was just about Norman and Bentely getting to know each other on a deeper level and deciding if they wanted a life together.

The side characters were delightful and didn't overwhelm the story and I have to say, Pretzel stole the scene several times in the best way. Honestly, this book was like a breath of fresh air for me. Five stars I'm happy to give.
