no, really. my MO is rating this author’s books and rating them 5 stars, then reading again after a few months and lowering it to 1, quite disgusted with myself. right now, i genuinely think that this is amazing, but don’t trust me...more

and by that i mean an amazing book, but also a good monster romance. compelling world building. great characters. wonderful love story. interesting over-arching plot. it also lacks the boredom to put you to sleep, which is something i personally enjoy.
i genuinely loved 3/4 of this. and i abso-fucking-lutely loved talon.
but, honestly, when we got to the reason of it all, it was so underwhelming that ii genuinely loved 3/4 of this. and i abso-fucking-lutely loved talon.

which is a shame because i loved almost everything else. i just needed a biiiiiit more romance...more
i have very mixed feelings about this. i want to start by saying that i enjoyed this, hence the rating, however it wasn’t what i wanted.
we met angel sei have very mixed feelings about this. i want to start by saying that i enjoyed this, hence the rating, however it wasn’t what i wanted.
we met angel several books ago and he was always described as a literal angel and the opposite of diablo. when cora started posting teasers about “little devil” i knew that i wasn’t getting the bad mafia husband only soft for angel, as i wanted, but something else. now, i am glad that i read it, however this rebranding didn’t really make sense. actually, angel acted as diablo should’ve if he wasn’t portrayed as a caricature of himself. mostly, i don’t get why angel was presented in a way for several books and he just wasn’t like that. and im not talking about an interiority that we discovered here, he really is like that.
so yeah, my experience was mostly ruined by this. i repeat, i enjoyed it, but i can’t stop thinking about the book that we’ve been teased by for years.
also, cora if you’re reading this, delete that anthony chapter. it doesn’t add anything to the story and it’s something that’s only done in fan fiction. thank you. ...more
so, we all know by now that if you ever hear on the news that a random bitch fucked an alien, that bitch better be me. however, in my hard, long alienso, we all know by now that if you ever hear on the news that a random bitch fucked an alien, that bitch better be me. however, in my hard, long alien research i’ve never stumbled upon a two dicked alien. also, said dicks are tentacled and kind of sentient. i’m pretty sure i want that one. i am not completely sold on the shark face because i am quite terrified of sharks but i might do it for science. if you do happen to encounter one, please dm me.
oh, did you want to know something about the book? what, the dicks description wasn’t enough for you? i mean, yeah, i guess i can do that.
loved, loved, loved both main characters. i genuinely wanted to hug them all the time that i wasn’t thinking about the double dicks. which, sure, it wasn’t a lot of time, but it still counts. i actually have a small little complaint, this is a little bit longer than it should be and i guess we should all thank the author for trying to limit the three repetitions. trying being the key word. i also adored the resolution of the conflict, because while the conflict was predictable, the resolution wasn’t at all.
i genuinely hope this isn’t the end of this series because i fell in love with characters in both books and i reeeeaaaaaally need their stories. please and thank you.
i read an arc and you definitely don’t have to wonder if this is my honest opinion because you couldn’t waterboard this information out of most people. so yeah. ...more
imagine a big, tired sigh. that’s what this book is.
lark, bestie, im begging you. i know that familiar is comfortable but familiar gets boring. a few imagine a big, tired sigh. that’s what this book is.
lark, bestie, im begging you. i know that familiar is comfortable but familiar gets boring. a few cameos are fun. the same characters over and over are not. i get that kidnappings/supes brawls and fights are a huge part of this world, but maybe let’s try to have a few different conflicts sometimes? everything is starting to get so repetitive. and don’t get me started on the fact that we basically already know the plot of the next book.
honestly, this is not bad. if this was the only lark taylor book i read, i would’ve genuinely enjoyed it a lot. but i can’t simply forget that it’s a repetitive mix of all her other books. i genuinely hope that she will branch out and do something different. (and this is also why i loved covenant that much.)...more

i do have one small complaint, in this series, at the very end, they randomly embrace bdsm???? what is the reason????

unfortunately, our forbidden relationship really shouldn’t have been forbidden. milo is literally 28 who the fuck should tell him who he can or can’t date??? that’s something that bothered me a lot. he should’ve been much younger for it to work. and then it would’ve been a real issue. because it ended up being almost not a problem at all, and i mean, as it should, but that’s literally the whole problem of the book???
all in all, i did enjoy this, however the age thing really bothered me.
