Nick Colter can't forget the one night he spent with Dani Sheraton. Neither can Dani - their baby's arrival is, well...imminent. But, for nine months, she's kept her pregnancy a secret from him, knowing that Nick's past has left its scars. He doesn't love her, doesn't seem capable of loving anyone. Within twenty-four hours of Nick's return, Dani finds that she's a wife and a mother. Now all she has is a lifetime to teach her new husband about love!
I love family first and foremost, which is why writing family sagas and stories that involve family is so much fun. Maybe you can tell that from my books since they always feature the warmth and joy and ridiculousness that comes from having a close-knit family.
I also love animals and have taken in rescue dogs and cats and fostered dogs for the local animal shelter.
And of course, I love writing. All I need is a functioning brain (batteries not included), a pen, and paper, and I can write anywhere. Please don’t let a conversation with me lag because my imagination takes over and I. Am. Checked. Out!

I enjoyed this book as well even though I wanted to yell at the heroine to see how awesome the hero was even if he couldn't comprehend or verbalize his feelings. When the hero comes home after months he finds the heroine Dani pregnant and he is overjoyed over the chance to have a family, since he never had one, his parents as we learn later were never there and he learnt to shut down his emotions or atleast pretend not to have them.
He had wanted (and loved) the heroine for five years and saw how badly her husband treated her, and now that he's dead, the heroine doesn't want to get married again especially to a man she believes can't give her love and is like his computer GEM.
Let me tell you the computer was hilarious as well and the hero was so wonderful and caring.
Lady, you! and this book!.... i don't have words! beyond amazing! Im in love with this book and especially Gem. I've never really been one of those sci-fi fans, yeah i really do think computers like Gem will end up taking over the world BUT no matter how scared i may be of that happening i do truly wish, i had a Gem in my life. She truly is a gem! and so is this book! and i cant tell you how glad i am to have found this amongst all the other millions of books out there. Honestly my most favorite book! =')
I suppose it was meant to be cute/sweet but honestly, the security system, the H, the h's parents... all conspired to make me wonder about the h's intelligence for remaining where she was after the death of her husband. Or, for that matter, remaining where she did when she realized her husband was a schmuck. I mean; why stay married to a guy who doesn't care? Oh. Right. Her *family*.
I actually checked the date on this to see when it was written - the family pressuring her to marry, etc., just seemed so dated.
I'm not touching on the H's parents - the absentminded geniuses who apparently left their brilliant son to his own devices. Yeah right, ok. I'm trying to figure out how it was that he wasn't included on their projects - an untapped mind and all that. Seems more likely they'd have put him to work instead of forgetting he was around.
The h claims to be emotional and labels H as unemotional like GEM, an AI security system that H created. But GEM and H were considerably more interesting and emotionally mature than h who sulks, cries and whines in the name of emotional intelligence. All 3 stars to the author for the H and GEM considering she came up with the concept and the story in the 90s more than a decade ahead of Siri.
This was a semi MOC. I LOVED LOVED LOVED the H. I want one just like him, a geeky blonde giant who is crazy for me and cares for me and wants kids with me. lol.
Gem, the computer, was the 2nd best part. Will definitely re-read sometime.
Love this book. I still have the original book with the original cover. Its my " feel good" and " pick me up" read.... I stopped counting how many times I have re-read this book!
His heart rejoices. - Nick's learned to be self-reliant to the point of squelching all feelings related to other people. His parents weren't the most attentive, more involved with their scientific pursuits than the product of their combined DNA. Maybe he was an experiment for them. Hmmm.
Dani's family is the absolute best. Super supportive, they go full steam ahead to marry her off and move her to Nick's place. She's having his baby and they couldn't be happier. Even if the marriage is at least nine months too late.
But Dani's been hurt before, and she won't stay in a loveless marriage. Not again. How will Nick convince her to stay if he can't express the feelings he's had for so long? Will he lose Dani and little Abigail forever?
A great story with two MCs determined to love their child, but leery of loving each other. MIA adds a humorous element as she frustrates both her creator Nick and her owner Dani with her AI antics. But it was sweet when she read Abbey fairy tales. Awww.

Dani and Nick have been business partners for several years, but Dani was married to the other partner. After she has been widowed for a year, Nick lets his feelings for Dani show, and they spend the night together. They are both too chicken to face each other afterward until Nick gets the feeling that he should go home from Europe. The cover gives a hint about what he finds. They have a lot to unravel before they can make a marriage work. The most unexpected thing about this book was the computer system, MIA. She has a few things to say about the marriage and the baby, and it is very funny. I'm looking forwad to the next in the series.
I really enjoyed this book, it was funny and so easy to read. The characters were quirky and came alive for me but I have to admit the really best part was having the characters from the author’s book Jinxed in this book. Stephen and Kit’s daughter cause havoc at the toy factory. When you read about it you will laugh. My favourite character is MIA the security computer, oh my! She is so funny with Dani. They are constantly fighting with each other. Nick’s character makes you want to hug him. He needs love. A wonderful book to read and enjoy. I would recommend reading this book.

From the book blurb: AND THE BRIDE WORE... MATERNITY!

One Day Bride is book 1 in the Matchmakers series and it is a sweet story that will make you chuckle and make you cry and has a few little twists and turns I did not expect.
Nick and Dani have a very interesting story that has a bit of drama and a cute little baby named Abigail. And, let’s not forget the mischievous AI security system called MIA! She is a kind of funny, a little crazy and slightly scary.
I was thoroughly entertained and I recommend reading the Matchmaker series in order as some of the characters will appear in the next books.
Dani is pregnant with Nick’s baby but he doesn’t know. What a shock when he shows up at her door. The wedding scene is hilarious. I love MIA. Really scary though, because it could easily happen. The scene at the Toy factory in also wonderful. The characters are very interesting and the storyline is great. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.
