I really enjoyed reading Benji and Starlings story! Well written, lovable characters, romantic, steamy, witty and some angst! Xavi was adorable and so sweet! Love the babies!!! I was sad to see their story end! This one was a wonderful addition to BA's Cozy Cowboys! I loved it and I can't wait for the next book! I read an advanced copy of this book and this is my unbiased review!

4/5 Sterling does not get off on the right foot in this one, sweeping in and planning to buy Benji off so he can get his nephew. It’s compounded when he meets Benji accidentally and hides who he really is. However, I thought the story did a good job of just skirting the line of totally unacceptable. Sterling wasn’t actually planning to hide who he was, the situation got complicated. He’s coming for Xavi because he’s family and he wants the best for him. And once he realises that Benji *is* the best and he likes him … he pauses to take stock.

I appreciated that there were real consequences to his lying for that Benji does understand extenuating circumstances. Xavi is adorable, Geoff and Carson definitely need their own book, and the animals are awesome. I liked how neither Benji nor Sterling expected any of this, but they try to figure out their connection and navigate it despite the complications.

The reality tv subplot is a little unexpected but a good reminder of some of the drawbacks of being extremely wealthy. It gets resolved a bit quickly, but I didn’t actually want to be mired in that situation, so I was okay with it. I’d rather spend time with the adorable goats and dogs and horses. ;) It definitely feels like Sterling, Benji, and Xavi ended up where they’re meant to be.

I received an ARC from GRR. This is my honest review.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

Sterling Jordan heads to Durango, Colorado to find his sister’s baby. Then he meets his nephew’s adoptive father, Benjamin Collier. He is definitely not what he expected. He doesn’t tell Ben who he is and why’s he here. There’s a blizzard in Durango, so Sterling is stuck here. When storm passes he makes up some lame excuse as to why he remains there. He knows he messed up and it will take more that a simple apology, to get a second chance with Benji.

When Benji finds out that Sterling is a billionaire cowboy he’s furious and rightly so. Benji was injured by an IED during his service in the army, and he is now working as a pediatric nurse. His army friend got pregnant with unwanted baby and Benji was happy to adopt a little guy, Xavi. So he is very protective of Xavi. He will let Sterling to get to know his nephew, but he will not let him go with him. I loved the chemistry and passion between Benji and Sterling. They were made for each other.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a MM, billionaire, cowboy, single dad romance then you’re going to love it.

So amazing!

This book is sweet and wonderful and I loved it! The story of Sterling and Ben is full of love, laughter, crazy weather, great friends and family and is an absolute must read! They meet when Sterling heads to town after finding out that Ben has adopted his sister’s baby. He has every intention of bringing the baby back home to the family ranch but he isn’t prepared for Ben. The two hit it off immediately and things are going really well between the two of them. Sterling is rethinking his whole plan and means to tell Ben the truth and when he does, things don’t go well. He will beg for another chance and Ben will finally give him that chance. It is wonderful to see how their relationship develops and how much Xavi, Ben’s son, loves Sterling. There are some people that will interfere will the way things are going and Sterling will need to bring Ben and Xavi home to the family ranch. Ben will have some misgivings but eventually, will realize just what Sterling means to him and how much Sterling truly loves him and when he does, they will all get a wonderful happily ever after.

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

“Silver Buckle Linings” by B.A. Tortuga is part of the ‘BA’s Cozy Cowboys’ series and features nurse Ben Collier who has to deal with his beloved new baby boy plus a mysterious and attractive stranger who he rescues from a thundersnow storm. It turns out the newcomer has an ulterior motive that isn’t revealed until Ben starts to fall for him, but their nascent relationship may not survive the revelations that start coming fast and furious.

This delicious adult contemporary gay romance centers around family. I love that these two men bond over a child that one already loves unconditionally and the other loves sight unseen. There is some family drama in the background and a weird stalking issue, but the primary focus is on the baby, family (both blood related and not), and animals…so many fun animals. This is a heartwarming read with a few mysteries that are left unsolved but a nice twist on some tropes. I hope to see some of these characters in future stories and I intend to look for other books in this series since I’m definitely in the mood for more “awwww” moments!

This is another very enjoyable feel-good story from the Cozy Cowboys series. Sterling is a very wealthy ex-rodeo rancher who has a sister who has ghosted the family. While using a private detective to at least keep some tabs on her, he learns that she has had a baby that she gave up for adoption. He decide that, since this is his nephew, he wants to try to gain custody.

When he meets his nephew's adoptee father, Sterling quickly learns that Ben is actually an outstanding father. He decides to come clean and let Ben know that he is his son's uncle. At the same time, both men have been feeling a strong attraction to each other that has nothing to do with anything else. This book is low-angst with supportive friends and family, some outside issues to face, lots of passion, and a beautiful forever love.

When an "I'm always right" billionaire cowboy is taught the error of his ways by the sweetest war vet & single dad ever, can true love not be far behind? Stirling Jordan messed up from the very beginning -- setting out to take his runaway sister's baby from the caring man who legally adopted the little boy, not telling said man the whole truth when Benji literally pulled his frozen butt out of a snow drift during a blizzard, and then making up a stupid excuse for why he remains in Durango after the storm clears. But in his favor is the fact that he knows he messed up and that it takes more than just words to apologize and deserve a second chance. He works hard to make amends. He doesn't take a second chance at being a part of Benji and Xavi's lives lightly. His character growth is wonderful, but it never pushes beyond the boundaries of believable.

Benji is a true saint. Injured by an IED while in the army, he is now a pediatric nurse and a single father to the little son of his army buddy from a pregnancy she never wanted. He was thrilled to adopt Xavi, and though exhausted, he loves his life. When he learns of Stirling's deception, he is rightfully angry but still doesn't completely close his heart off when he sees the lengths the cowboy goes to in order to correct his mistakes. His loving and warm attitude is a goal to strive for.

The secondary characters are also crucial to the story, which makes it so much fun. Geoff is the best friend and PA everyone hopes for - competent and full of sassy, fun energy. He never sits still! Add Stirling's cousin and chief of security, Carson, to the mix, and the flirty bickering is unstoppable. Benji's mom is a woman on a mission to protect her grandbaby, and Stirling's bossy billionaire father had better not get in her way. Readers will be left itching to read more about these characters.

This was a fantastic addition to B A Tortuga's Cozy Cowboys series.

Recommended for fans of Taylor Rylan's Men of Crooked Bend series, the works of Alexis Hall, and anything by Rory Maxwell.

Benji and Xavi stole the show!

I cannot exclaim enough how much I adored Benji. He was the sweetest, kindest guy and the way he loved Xavi with all his heart made me melt. I’ll admit, Sterling was a bit meh in my eyes. I didn’t love his attitude or the way he went about things although he did grow in me. He’s definitely a flawed character but I guess I felt compared to BA’s usual style he didn’t earn his forgiveness in my eyes. He was making headway, but there just wasn’t enough grovelling and honestly if he hadn’t had such a bad attitude to start with then he wouldn’t have needed to grovel. I will say though, his love for family was a redeeming feature and the fact that he could recognise that Benji was an awesome guy won him points. For me though, the absolute star of this was Benji and has pure love for his Xavi. It made a point that Sterling really needed to learn which was that family isn’t about blood, it’s about love and commitment and action. It’s about showing the people you love that you value them, not just claiming it by default because of genes. I’m glad Benji is happy and whilst I think a whole lot more grovelling was deserved I do think there’s a genuine HEA for them. I guess that’s the point, the people you love will never be perfect but as long as they try they hopefully will be perfect for you.

I just couldn't get into this story. The main problem was Sterling. He was a very obnoxious character who thought he was right because he had money. I'm sure he got better as the story progressed but wasn't interested in finding out.

Good story with a twist or two.

I can't thank BA for her stories. These are meant to be reread when you need an uplift. Ben is a single parent but he doesn't know that Sienna is not an only child. Nor does he know of her brother. Sterling is adamant about taking Xavi from been until he meets him in an unusual way. The you can figure out.

Sterling billionaire and Ben with a baby.... makes a terrific story !

* Sterling Jordan, tall, dark, and handsome with broad shoulders, is an ex-rodeo man, owns a ranch in Aspen, where he finds out his missing sister, Sierra, had a baby boy and put it up for adoption. Then he is on his way to western Colorado.
* Benjamin/Ben Collier, 31, ( on cover ) a blue-eyed blonde, hunky cowboy, is a scarred ex-Army military man, and is an RN, Registered Nurse, owns his small ranch where he's raising his 14 month old adopted son, Xavier/Xavi. He has horses, Llamas, goats and chickens. Ben knew Sierra from the Army, and she went to him to have her baby adopted.

Sterling gets stuck in a thunder snow, where he swerves and gets a flat. He's helped by the man he come to find. Ben brings him home to his ranch and Sterling helps with chores, gets to know Ben and Xavier, but keeps his knowledge a secret.

We see lots of talks, chores, diapers and coziness.
The two men take advantage of their proximity and true attraction to have a night of sexy times that's hot and satisfying.

Soon Sterling must spill his story and Ben gets his hackles up. Even longer conversations follow, and both calm down, trying to get along, go to an Escape Room fun night, a Train ride, dinners, hanging out and have more sexy time. Sterling does some important things in town, he's so giving and nice.

Later we get chaos when the media and TV folks go too far with invasive photos and stalking. Sterling's security team jump into immediate action. No harm will come to Ben and Xavier.

Carson and Geoff are taking charge and all are moved to the Aspen ranch. Ben meets the family, including the big man, Papa, Silver's Dad.

While things are being handled, Ben and Sterling find tome to talk more, use the "L" word and make plans.

This is another wonderful tale by this amazing author. I've read every book! Is it feasible?, probably not, but it IS entertaining as it could be !

It's fun and heartwarming, and I recommend it highly.
ENJOY !

I really enjoyed this. The premise is excellent and the perfect way to infuse some fun drama into Benji and Sterling’s romance. When he learns his estranged sister’s newborn son has been adopted by her friend and former Army buddy, Sterling’s is set on bringing baby Xavi back into the family. I appreciated that Sterling is a rarity, a BA Tortuga character who is not immediately lovable. One of my favorite things about this author is how lovely and endearing the characters are, so Sterling was a nice surprise. He eventually does have that charming and lovable center, but the Sterling we first meet is arrogant, entitled, and quite willing to concoct a complicated string of lies to get what he wants. He makes quite the mess of it too, jumping in without a plan. The fact that Benji is lovely and Xavi is adored and well cared for does at least make him pause and definitely throws a wrench into his plans. I do think Benji let him off the hook a bit too easily, but I was all for getting the romance going in earnest. I loved Benji and Sterling’s easy chemistry, so the tension over Benji discovering Sterling’s identity really kept me turning the pages. If I’m being picky, the reality show side plot felt like a bit of unnecessary drama that never really went anywhere interesting, it just wasn’t my favorite. But, there is a lot to love about Benji and Sterling’s story. I liked Sterling’s character arc, Benji and Xavi are crazy sweet, and Benji’s mom is a force. I thought the side characters were particularly strong, adding so much personality to the story - Geoff and Carson were definitely a highlight for me.

Another good book in the Cozy Cowboys world from BA Tortuga! I gotta say, I wasn't a fan of Sterling to start with, thinking he can wade into this guy's life and just take his son from him by force or with money but nothing prepared him for Benji. And then seeing him with his son, Xavi, who is also Sterling's nephew, raises the stakes even more.
There is a good chemistry between the two MC's but it takes a man of good character to forgive what Sterling planned, and Benji is definitely that. Heart full of love for his newborn son, animals whose welfare is extremely important to him, and a close relationship with his mum. What's not to love for Sterling? Benji is a man far bigger than I would be but then Sterling pays his dues and is determined to go forward anyway that Benji lets them, with full honesty and sharing anything about his life. It's sweet to read as they grow closer and then they have an intense connection when it's just the two of them.
Carson and Geoff are hilarious together. Sterling's right hand men really need their own story together to see what comes of that. Xavi is just the most adorable little thing and the Benji's mum has no problem going full out mamma bear when needed. What brings the drama to the story is how utterly unbelievable those in reality TV are, thinking they are owed something or will just take it for themselves. I would have liked the outcome of that a little more resolved, otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I wanted to like this book but unfortunately it wasn’t for me. Sterling starts off on hiding the truth which ok I sort of understand, he wants to get to know Benji and how he behaves with xavi. What I don’t understand was why he wanted the baby so badly he was willing to buy out Benji, it felt icky to me. He has no experience with babies why would he assume he’s the better choice? just cause of his financial status? Then when he meets Benji and realizes he’s actually a good person (surprise there are actually good adoptive parents out there 🙄) he decides to extend on his lying. He rents a room in local motel instead of staying at his nice hotel room, buying an old truck, and having his bodyguard rent an air bnb, just so he can appear as a “regular” guy and not a billionaire rancher. Then there’s the added “suspense” of photographers stalking them because of a reality show ?! 🤷🏻‍♀️ It was unnecessary and didn’t really make any sense. The resolve for this situation happens off page and then they decide where they'll live and then bam.. the end. Felt like the end came out of nowhere. Also the sister just ditched her family for no reason not letting them know she’s alive and then ditches Benji her friend and ghosts everyone. In my opinion she’s selfish and doesn’t deserve sterling, benji, and xavi.

4 "Sterling" stars!

When Benji (Ben) finds a stranded Sterling, who's rental vehicle has run off the snowy back road, he takes the freezing stranger back to his modest ranch to warm up and call for help.

Little does Ben know the true reason why Sterling is in Durango, Colorado. Or the stranger's financial status. But when Sterling finally confesses his true reason for being in Ben's town, Ben is furious and immediately ceases all contact with the deceitful man.

But Ben cannot deny his attraction to the handsome Sterling (and Sterling his feelings for Ben) and gives him a second chance to get to know him and his baby, Xavier (Xavi).

What ensues is a touching, tumultuous relationship that tests both men's connections and families.

Written with magnificent world building, wonderful supporting characters (particularly Carson and Geoff) and confounding trouble that seems to follow them, this book was a delight to read.

I would have rated it higher, but numerous editing errors and the oft times strange manner the two men spoke (like cowboys do, I gather), I was forced to tame my rating. If not for these two exceptions, I would have happily filled out 5 stars. Still, I highly recommend this entertaining story to other readers.

I loved this sweet, low angst book!

Benji is a single gay man who decided to help his friend from the military out by adopting her baby. He has always wanted children and she was not able to keep this baby. Perfect situation right?!
Not so, if the baby’s uncle, Sterling, has anything to say about it. He travels to where Benji and Xavi live, determined to bring the baby back home with him, in spite of the fact that Benji is Xavi’s legal, adoptive father.

On his way to find Benji, he has an accident and Benji is the one who saves him. Benji is sweet and caring and offers Sterling to stay with them while the storm passes. Benji finds Sterling hot but is not quite certain if Sterling is interested or not to start out with.
Sterling n the other hand figures out quite quickly that Xavi is his nephew, but fails to tell Benji about it.
Once Benji finds out he is quite upset, understandably!
It takes Sterling putting some serious effort into getting back in Benji’s “good book”, but they finally get a HEA.

This is a sweet and low angst book for anyone who likes hot cowboys, single dads and cute babies.

This book is simply perfection! it is the perfect summer read and no one does cowboy love stories like this author. This is another one that hooked me from page one, and I read in one sitting. I love how both Sterling and Ben are written as strong men, both knowing what they want, and both realizing compromise will be necessary as they develop feelings for one another. I love the angst (that when Sterling show up he is not completely honest about who he is with Ben) that happens when Ben learns the truth--that Sterling has come to town to take his son (Sterling sister's baby that Ben has adopted) which Ben in no way is gonna let happen. A story full of love, heart warming moments, forgiveness, laughter and all the feels. Love how Sterling has to make up for his lie of omission and love that Ben allows him to do that so they can find love. Another great book that illustrate all can define family any way they want. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.

I love this author’s books. They’re feel good, and warm and fuzzy. I love the importance of family in this story, and how Sterling and Ben, not only fall in love, but learn to navigate the good and not so good aspects of their shared world.

I loved the scenes with them and Xavi. They’re very sweet, yet don’t shy away from the reality of raising a baby either. I love how Ben is an empathic caring man, yet speaks his mind when he needs to, s very protective of his son, and his background as a veteran shines through too.

I love how Sterling, despite initially determined to raise Xavi as part of his family, realises his error immediately, and tells Ben the truth as soon as he’s able. I thought Ben’s reaction was realistic, and I love how they start over to build a strong friendship and relationship.

Carson and Geoff are wonderful. I love their banter. They totally need their own book!

I liked how everyone works together against an outside threat.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4.25 stars

I liked how Sterling worked to earn Benji’s respect after the big reveal and broken trust happened. These are both good guys, and they deserve a loving relationship. Sterling would like nothing more than to date Benji and maybe see if their sizzling attraction continues to intrigue him. Meanwhile, Benji’s super hurt that Sterling infiltrated his home with bad intentions, and even more suspicious about the Jordan family and their empire, since Sierra made such a great effort to hide herself away from them. It takes time and patience for both men to get connected again, helped by Benji and Xavier decamping to Sterling’s secure compound when the press gets involved.

Right off the bat Sterling's attitude about an unknown man adopting his sister's baby gives off bad vibes but the reader just has to get past this to find out Sterling's turn-around adjustment when he finally meets Ben and sees just how much Ben loves baby Xavi; for Ben is devoted to Xavi as if he was Xavi's natural father. The secondary characters of Carson and Geoff added just the right amount of loyalty as Sterling's aids and hilarity as wisecracking sidekicks with an undertone of mutual attraction. There was a touch of villainous treachery but was dealt with in a business-like directness. My one regret was how the character of Sterling's sister Sierra (Xavi's natural mother) wasn't expanded on. All in all, though, an enjoyable read for this reviewer. This is my honest and voluntary opinion.

I love this authors books and this one did not disappoint. Sterling, who has hired a private investigator, found out that his sister had a baby and that they were adopted. When he went to try to buy out the adoptive father, he gets into an accident due to the weather. When he is rescued and brought to that person’s house, he finds out that he was saved by the adoptive father. Benji is friends with the baby’s mother who signed away her parental rights to Xavi. Everything is going well with Sterling, but when Ben finds out who he is, he gets very upset and tells him to go. This is the start of Sterling realizing that Ben is much better at being a father than he would. It is also about giving someone a second chance to redeem themselves. Loved the storyline, great world building with chemistry and heat between the characters. Cannot wait to read more from the author.

What a sweet, emotion-filled story! Each character brought a little extra charm, a little more with every turn of the page. It did have a rather slow beginning but it was enough to grasp my attention. And, I don’t know about anyone else but I love a good cowboy story and BA definitely delivered! And, we were left dangling with anticipation for Geoff and Carson 🥹

For my second time reading this author my thoughts are somewhat torn. I was a little disappointed with the start, but apparently it was enough to capture my attention because I kept coming back. I think I was hoping Sierra would call but I guess she was really gone. Xavi was lucky to have such a genuine person adopt him, though, and his uncle fell for said man. I really hope there’s an update when he gets a little older, though!!

Ben's old Army buddy, Sierra is pregnant and doesn't want to be a mother. She knows Ben has been saving for a surrogate and offers the baby to Ben. Sterling learns his older sister Sierra has had a baby which she put up for adoption. Sterling is a Jordan and means something in Colorado. Sterling believes everyone has a price. He will go to Durango and find out what Ben's price.
Things don't go quite according to plan. He gets a defective rental pick up, has a blowout landing him in the ditch, only to be rescued by Ben. Cue the mandatory snowstorm and subsequent power outage.
stranded together Sterling finds he quite likes Ben. Now Sterling has a major problem, a reality show wants Sterling on it and will stop at nothing to get him. How can he protect Ben and Xavi from the paps without losing Ben when he learns of Sterlings original plan.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Sterling, Benji, and baby Xavi. The situation was realistic, the chemistry between the two was off the charts, Sterling’s security guy Carson and PA Geoff played off each other so well, Mama was a typical mamma bear, and Brodie took to the grampa role like a duck to water. Loved how everyone interacted, Benji and Sterling found their compromise, and everyone was on their way to a HEA. The story flowed, all the characters were interesting and relatable, and the story kept my interest from page 1 to the end. I do think Sterling should have bought Benji one of those rockers as a peace offering. I hope there is a book for Carson and Geoff as it should be pretty entertaining. I find BA’s cowboy books to be very interesting and entertaining, with a believable story to tell.

This baby has two men who want to love and care for him. Benji adopted him and wants to raise him and give him a good home. Sterling finds out that his estranged sister had a child and he wants to bring him home and provide for him. When he gets to where the baby is living with Benji he changes tactics to get the lay of the land and to get to know Benji. He did not announce right away what his relationship to the child was which was not great. Xavier is a loved child. It takes Benji and Sterling a while to work through the mistrust not being upfront stirred in Benji. But they do work things out and work through other complications to provide a committed family for this child. It was easy to like both men.

This is such a lovely and heartwarming tale. We follow the journey of a veteran who has transitioned into a registered nurse and is now a devoted single dad. He crosses paths with a billionaire rancher on a mission to find his sister's baby, and the chemistry between them is nothing short of explosive.

The author weaves an incredible life story for these characters, capturing their challenges, growth, and the blossoming of their unexpected romance. The narrative is rich with emotion, making it impossible not to root for their happiness.

This beautifully crafted story is a testament to love, resilience, and the magic that happens when two worlds collide.

Sterling digs himself a big hole at the beginning of this story— he’s so sure he’s right that he does a lot wrong, and I loved that he had to earn his second chance. Character growth, chemistry, connection, a little angst, a few twists (not sure about the reality tv subplot, but it definitely adds a few extra layers) all add up to an interesting read overall, and there are some dynamic supporting characters to go with our two leads. Benji is basically a saint, Sterling is a lot of things but grows more likable as the story goes on—if the blurb appeals, well worth a try.

This story is about Sterling finding out that his sister had a baby and planning to go get him to make sure he had access to all the wealth that his family has. What he didn't plan on was that Benji, the baby's adopted father, would be such a good Dad and be someone that turns him on. I love BA's cowboys, but other than a baby this is more of the same. The same story gets old. Also, the tension that came from a crime remained unresolved at the end. It also didn't have nearly enough heat for a story like this (which she tends to do when children are involved). Overall, it wasn't her best, but still a very good read!

BA Tortuga has done it again! This a fabulous story that is expertly well-written, has great characters, and a captivating and compelling storyline. The pages kept turning by themselves and before I knew it, disappointingly, it was the end. I was completely drawn in all the way to the end. Benji and Sterling make an adorable couple and are doting parents to baby Xavier. I totally recommend it!

Sweet and wonderful, I loved it! Sterling meets Ben after discovering Ben has adopted his sister's baby. Initially intending to bring the baby back to the family ranch, Sterling is surprised by his immediate connection with Ben. Their relationship blossoms until Sterling's revelation threatens their happiness. After pleading for another chance, Sterling proves his love, especially to Ben's son, Xavi. Challenges arise, but Sterling ultimately brings Ben and Xavi to his family ranch, where Ben realizes their love is genuine. Their journey culminates in a heartwarming happily ever after.
