What’s your dirty little secret? Mine involves a handsome stranger. It began in a darkened hallway. This man’s touch had me coming undone. Not only is he tall, smart, and gorgeous, he left me wanting more. He haunts my fantasies until I read about him: Senator Bennett Stone. Armed with his name, I dig for the truth. Stone is from Atlanta and he's wealthy. A billionaire. He’s rumored to be the next vice president. Tasting forbidden fruit, I can’t settle for the cloying secrecy of my family. Or their plans for me as a pawn who’ll live in a gilded cage where women are expected to look beautiful and keep silent. I have to act fast. Thanks to a connection, Stone is my new boss. He’s my ticket to freedom — if he doesn’t fire me on the spot when I reintroduce myself... Xavia Stillman Kennedy.
Bennett ~ When I arrive in Boston, my newest staffer isn’t a stranger. We’ve met, and she’s the woman I can’t get out of my head. Yet, as Xavia and I rocket across the city, she tries to convince me our history shouldn’t matter. That’s a joke because I fully intend to pick up right where we left off. Crossing the line with Xavia is risky, but that doesn’t curb my hunger to own her.
She’s a dynasty princess. My family ties are deeply buried. Xavia houses explosive secrets. I’m headed for the Oval Office. Last stop on my campaign trail, and I’m rolling the dice. Getting dirty isn’t a question. It’s the answer.

Release Date - JULY 10, 2024 I’m so excited I received an ARC of Susan’s latest release! This steamy romance follows Xavia Stillman Kennedy, a 24-year-old from a politically connected banking family, and Senator Bennett Stone, a 36-year-old wealthy billionaire rumored to be the next vice president. Xavia isn’t sure what she wants to do with her life, but she knows she wants to distance herself from the expectations of her traditional, prying grandparents. As Xavia puts it - she “refuse[s] to remain housed in the land of boring pastels and pearls.” With the help of her best friend, Jon - a journalist in DC, she takes an internship with Senator Stone. But Xavia and Stone have met before (technically 😌). While they didn’t exchange names, Xavia and Stone shared a steamy moment during a night out in New York several months ago, and their attraction only continues when they reconnect on the first day of Xavia’s internship - as intern and boss. My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 ⭐️s This book is written in my fav — dual first person POVs 💕I loved Xavia’s strong POV. She’s intelligent and sassy and wants to forge her own connections, without using her well known family name. She refuses to fall in line with her family’s traditional expectations and doesn’t like being told what to do — driving Stone, our alpha MMC, absolutely wild. While I loved the spice in this book, I found myself craving more plot development. It’s implied that both Xavia and Stone have dark family secrets, and I wish we got a bigger glimpse into their pasts. I want to know more about each of them. Further, while Xavia and Stone quickly find they can’t tear themselves away from each other, I feel we’re still very much in the lust zone. Fortunately, this is only book one of THREE, with the next two books coming soon. I’m hopeful Xavia and Stone’s secrets start to unravel as their story continues, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we see their lust turn to love ❤️🔥 🔥 Dark Workplace Romance 🔥 Age Gap (12 Years) 🔥 BDSM 🔥 Political Intrigue 🔥 Grey Alpha MMC 🔥 Secret Romance
I had really high hopes for this book. I'll be totally honest; this book is a little- smidge bit- outside my wheelhouse. But with the tropes, the blurb etc., I had high hopes. Ugh, I don't usually write a review to complain about a book, but this is the reason for the three stars from me and I can't ignore it.
Were the intimate scenes hot. Yes. Would I read it again, or pick up a second book? Sorry but No.
Here are the tropes at play: 🔥Dark Workplace Romance - (I don't feel like this was dark) 🔥Political Mogul Boss VS Intern Age Gap (12 years) 🔥Secret Society (Dom/Sub Club) 🔥Grey Alpha MMC
The writing itself was very telling. What I mean by this is the author tells you what they -the character's- feel instead of conveying it in a less obvious way utilizing inference or adding emotional texture to a scene. This in general is not a writing style that I enjoy, if you don't mind it you will probably like this book just fine. But to me, it feels really dumbed down. Make me FEEL IT, don't state it.
And secondarily, where is the plot everyone else was talking about? It's missing. I feel like the blurb had more instore for the plot than what actually happened in the book. This book takes place over a brief weekend. It reads as if someone took a preexisting book-that was probably pretty lengthy- randomly selected a scene and chopped it in half. So, you get the first part of an incomplete story and about the time that I thought, "okay, we are getting somewhere", the book ended, and we never left the station. You could cut fluff, that doesn't pertain to the story line and get there in one book. Save another book for another member of his club.
The pacing was fine, you start out in kind of an electrifying scene between the MFC and MMC. You get all this talk about how the MFC needs a way out from her well-connected Nantucket political family. But you never find out why. Her cousin makes an appearance and it's a less-than-ideal exchange, and you do find out why they don't have a stellar relationship, but what does that have to do with the rest of the story line? There were a lot of dots, but nothing connected to create a conclusive plot line. You think the plot is going towards him inducting her into his club, but then the book simply ends.
I just feel like this book has the potential to be more, it just needs polishing. I know a "dark" BDSM romance can have a strong story line, but this one needs a thorough dev edit, and copy and line edit. I'm sorry, I am all for creative expression, the author I know spent hours, days, months even, out of her life the write it and it's a fine book. She crafted it the way she saw fit, enough to publish it twice even. But I feel like she marketed it hard the second time around but didn't put that same effort into the fit and finish of the book. Ya got me!
Thank you, Author Agency, for the ARC copy. I'm sorry, I wanted to love this.
Xavia, she a bold FMC. Her life is pre-written by her family and she is all set to escape.
This book is about Political Heiress running from family's pre-written plans and a Senator aspiring to becoming Vice President, his dark desires and secrets.
I loved the she calls him "Senator charming", "Bennett Sir"... 🤤🤤
The spicy scenes are sexy and amazing. 🌶️
One night..... And boom everything changed.
With no strings attached they go their separate ways but fate has other plans for them.
X ends up as Bennett’s new intern. A primal, instant and raw connection. 🌚🌚
He brings out her true side. These two are explosive.
Seduced by the Senator was just the base and the first book and the way it ends.... I am eagerly waiting for Laid Bare!! (WHYYYYYYYY THE WAITTT 😶🙄)
Thank you so much to Susan Arden and The Author Agency for sending me a gifted ARC.
Susan Arden delivers a compelling tale that blends political intrigue, family secrets, and undeniable chemistry in *Seduced by the Senator*, the first book in the *Dirty Little Secrets* trilogy. Xavia Stillman Kennedy, our charismatic female main character (FMC), is a force to be reckoned with, and her journey toward autonomy and self-discovery is both inspiring and engaging. Xavia’s blend of vulnerability and determination captured our hearts.
Senator Bennett Stone, a morally grey yet magnetic male main character (MMC), exudes power and raw masculinity, making him an irresistible figure both in the world of politics and in the intimate scenes shared with Xavia. His depth, coupled with his evident passion, makes him a standout character.
The plot's trajectory is as tantalizing as it is unpredictable, keeping readers on their toes with every turn of the page. Susan Arden expertly weaves a narrative that maintains a fine balance between steamy romance and the high-stakes world of political maneuvers.
Speaking of steam, the spice level is commendable, a story rich in passion and intensity. Arden doesn't shy away from delving into the provocative, giving readers plenty of moments to fan themselves over. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
For fans of dark workplace romances and those who appreciate a headstrong FMC challenging societal norms, *Seduced by the Senator* is an absolute must-read. As the layers of Xavia and Bennett's past and present intermingle, readers are in for a rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected reveals.
**Conclusion:** *Seduced by the Senator* is more than just a romance; it's a gripping exploration of power, choice, and desire. With scintillating chemistry and a plot rich in drama, this book is bound to seduce its readers, leaving them eagerly awaiting the next installment in the trilogy. If you’re in the mood for a smut-heavy story filled with bold decisions and political power plays, this book promises to deliver in spades.
Thanks to the author and The Author Agency for an arc of this book!
I was totally intrigued by this book because of the blurb and the tropes. It sounded hot and intriguing! It definitely delivered on both those fronts. Basically the FMC and MMC meet at a night club and have a very steamy make-out sesh that neither can forget. Fast forward a few weeks and she’s an intern on his senator re-election campaign. Sparks fly and they can’t ignore their attraction to one another.
This book was pretty much all about the smut and the insta-lust between the MCs. I didn’t realize that it’s the first in a series, so the entirety of the book is the characters’ early interactions and the MMC convincing (seducing) the FMC into a D/s lifestyle (he owns a private BDSM club). As a result, there wasn’t much plot. It was really just the characters’ inner monologues as they interact with one another and have their first sexual encounters.
I think I could enjoy this book at face value for what it is, because ultimately it delivers on what it promises. However, I was expecting more plot, and unfortunately the writing style is not to my taste. It was too much tell and not enough show. The characters didn’t feel dynamic for me because the MMC’s entire inner monologue is planning how he’s going to get the FMC into bed, and the FMC’s entire inner monologue is how she can’t do him anymore (but then ultimately still does). Some of the dialogue felt a bit stilted and was confusing to follow at times.
Will I read the rest of the series? Probably. I’m hopeful that the plot will pick up and become more apparent. I’m curious what will happen in the rest of the series.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for a spicy and quick read with some really hot smutty scenes, then this is for you!

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️

Xavia is immediately captivated by Bennett, and when she discovers his identity as a wealthy and influential senator, her interest only deepens. Determined to escape her family's plans for her, Xavia seeks out Bennett, landing a job as his newest staffer. This bold move sets off a series of events that intertwine their lives inextricably.

Susan Arden’s portrayal of the political world is detailed and realistic, adding depth to the narrative. The political aspects of the story are well-integrated, enhancing the overall plot rather than detracting from the romance.
The characters are well-developed, with Bennett and Xavia both having distinct, strong personalities. Bennett is not just a handsome, powerful man; he’s also deeply principled and driven by a desire to make a difference. Susan Arden’s engaging writing style and the undeniable chemistry between her protagonists make this book a standout in the contemporary romance genre.
SEDUCING THE SENATOR Not a bad Read by this author Susan Arden new to me but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Ok Let’s get into this ….
While I definitely loved these two Characters and the instant lust and Attraction with the BDSM vibes going on. I felt as if there was something missing from this story .. it could be just me but.. this book started off strong with the characters first meeting then going forward I struggled a bit towards the Characters second meet up and even towards the end … the smut scene however was definitely on point, but the storyline seems to be just a little repetitive for me, maybe it’s how the POV is written to be interpreted and I’m not really familiar with it, and then ends on a cliffhanger which I could tell just from how the story was progressing.. But Hey .. I enjoy it nonetheless!
Loved the two Main Characters
Xavia Kennedy, aka XS or X is tired of doing things the way her family wants. Her life is planned out by her family and she is ready to escape. One night while out with friends she meets a sexy stranger and threw caution to the wind to have a sexy hook-up in a bar hallway. This Guy calls it a mistake, and she walked away feeling hurt, Not knowing each other identity they both could not get the hot and dirty almost have sex out of their heads.
Xavia's best friend made an offer she desperately needs, as the newest intern to non other than Senator Bennett Stone the Hook up! Bennett Stone never expects his new intern to be the girl he can't get out of his mind, and though he knows it goes against, he finds himself unable to fight his attraction to her. But Xavia and Bennett both have secrets that would be disastrous a political suicide a huge scandal if it ever got out. This is why Bennett needs Xavia to agree to his terms in order to protect them both, but will XS agree or continue fighting with him every step of the way?
Bennett Stone is sexy and alpha, I loved him right away…He is unapologetic he knows what he wants and what he needs. A true politician. He is well put together and successful he is one confident cocky Dominant Alpha. He is one of the sexy Dominant, and it was so clear why X would be so drawn to him. I liked that he was always in control, except when it came to X. Oh yes!… He found himself breaking rules constantly with her, and I loved seeing him unable to fight the pull he felt towards her. X is strong and smart, and feisty, She might be a Kennedy, but she was determined to be her own person. She gave Bennett Sass and bratty behavior when it came to control at every turn! These two really challenged each other, and I loved every minute of it. Their attraction and chemistry was instant, But I actually loved how they could verbally spar and the witty banter between them.
But listen I really hope the second one will be better than this one but all on all not a bad story.
A story about a Political Heiress running from family obligations and a Senator aspiring to becoming Vice President, his dark desires, Secrets and the one woman who could end his career in a political scandal!
This Book is for those who love Heavy smut with a bit of plot with BDSM vibes !

This stranger, who leaves an indelible mark on her fantasies, turns out to be none other than Senator Bennett Stone. BWBH Review: Xavia wants to make a name for herself without using her family’s connections in Washington D.C. When her close friend hands her the opportunity of a lifetime, an internship with a prominent senator, she jumps at the chance to establish herself in the political world. It turns out she already has a connection to her new boss, one that might make things a little difficult.
Seduced by the Senator is perfect for readers who enjoy a smut-heavy story, a dark workplace romance, and a political candidate that exudes BDE.
Thank you to Susan Arden and The Author Agency for the ARC.
Sensually steamy, packed with powerplays and intrigue at its core this contemporary politically charged romance is cleverly crafted by author, Susan Arden.
An all-consuming, undeniable passion throbs and pulses off the pages in every glance, touch and word exchanged between love interests, Xavia and Bennett. Their intense first meeting ricochets into a complex and forbidden love affair that has the potential to jeopardise Senator Bennett Stone’s run for the Vice Presidency.
Heiress, Xavia Stillman Kennedy on the other hand, inexorably drawn to the Senator cannot and will not take her eyes off the prize. In Bennett, she realises a connection she craves and the opportunity to thwart her family’s political machinations. Determined and strong-willed, Xav yearns for the freedom to strike out and carve her own path, family be damned. Bennett’s highly principled driven ambition and powerful influence are alluring and this go-getter FMC will do everything within her power to put herself back within his sight. He will not keep her at a distance.
I thoroughly enjoyed the multilayered building and backstory development of these characters. They were relatable and highly emotive, ensnaring and taking me on a whirlwind of elevated sexy times and suspense. Don’t for a minute think that this book is just about the spice. The author constructs a believable high-stakes world of politics that drives the plot just as much as the relationship itself. So if you like yourself a thrilling plot along with the romancing, then this is the read for you!
Thank you to Author Susan Arden and The Author Agency for sending me the ARC of Seducing the Senator in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are my own.
Just a warning before you dive in this book....be sure your AC is working in the chilliest of temperatures bc you and your Kindle will definitely need it!
Seduced by the Senator, seduced me and I'm eagerly waiting for the next book of the trilogy. If you ate a fun and into smut-heavy story filled with bold decisions and political power plays, this book is the bomb! It's way more than a smuty filled romance, it has to do with power exchange, desire and choises, family secrets, independence and what price one must pay to get where they want.
I loved both mcs!
Bennett Stone is sexy and grey alpha male, unapologetic, he knows what he wants and what he needs. A politician. He is well put together and a confident cocky Dominant Alpha. He is sexy as it gets, and it was so clear why Xavia would be so drawn to him. He was always in control, except when it came to Xavia, where he lose his mind and "target" and I loooooooved that.I loved that he found himself breaking rules constantly with her and bc of her, and I loved that, no matter how in control he wanted to be, he was unable to fight the pull he felt towards her or the emotions starting to build inside him. Xavia, is a strong and smart woman, feisty, full of sassy and snarky remarks. She gives as good as she gets. She was determined to be her own person, built her own life, away from her controlling and manipulative family. She gave Bennett Sass and bratty behavior when it came to control at every turn, and that drove him maaaaaaad(ly in love?!). Their witty bander is to die for, their verbal sparring exhilarating, the way they constantly challenged each other kept me captivated...And let's not forget about their ridiculous (in the best of ways)attraction and chemistry!
When I saw the title of this book and the tropes I knew I had to read it.
There are no long chapters of slow burn with push n pull tension while we get to know Xavia & Bennett it’s insta lust from the start at its finest and it’s hot all the way through 🫠😮💨🥵. This book definitely has the most kissing in any book I’ve read this year and it’s plenty woooo !
Senator Bennett is handsome and an alpha male , Xavia is strong , intelligent & beautiful and comes from a prestigious & very wealthy influential family in the world of politics & banking and when they meet they just have this instant pull to each other. That first meeting thou 😮💨🫠😶🌫️.
He is a dominant and wants her to submit to him but she is no shy kitten (He calls her Kitten 🐱) , she has a very strong personality and isn’t afraid to give it back to him as she gets more mouthy that pushes him more to want to own her and possess her more. They both need something the other can give. Pleasure, Pain & Freedom.
The cliff hanger at the end 😳 I need book 2 already as the story really picks up in the last chapters as they both have some dark secrets from their pasts and things are about to get even more interesting & darker . What secrets will be revealed what are they both hiding?
I think this book as it’s a series would be best enjoyed reading it back to back , for me book 1 I read it like a prequel & intro with loads of crumbs into the action and story coming in book 2 & 3

I received an ARC of this book All reviews and comments are in my own words and of my own views and opinions.
Wow!!! All my spice loving followers this one is for you. This was very hot yet full of secrets, intrigue and so many questions. Xavier (XS) is from a rich and famous family. She has dark secrets and we only get small hints but not fully. I am intrigued to find out. She wants to get away from her socialite family that love controlling them and their lives. She is very smart, wonderful, very sassy and Broken. I did like her character a lot. Senator Bennett Stone is part of a secret society built by his group of fellow senators. They're all Doms and own their own secret house. Due to their career this needs to stay a secret. They have plenty of rules and one look at Xavier he is losing his mind and breaking a rule at a time. He is very confident, strong, compassionate and most certainly dominant 🥵. When XS turns up as his new intern he is trying to figure out her game plan as she is from a family that don't like the Republicans. While XS is trying to work out if she is being used for her name. The little incident with her cousin, that is threatening everything she is working for was very sad 💔. I really hope he gets what he deserves. With all the odds against them, their burning passion for each other, can they really have each other without burning their career? Only bad thing about this book is that it is part of a trilogy and it ends on a cliffhanger 😭. I have no clue which way the next book will go but I'm presuming some heartbreak coming up.. This is Dom/Sub and BDSM kink. So there is breath play, edging, spanking etc.
"Best mistake I ever let go of."
"When you’re around me, it might be better if you forgo panties.”
“My ego would like to meet up with your smart little mouth."

“Ask me for what you want, and I’ll give you everything you need.”
Xavie grew up in the elite of the elite. She’s a political princess. But she has no desire to get by on her family name. She wants to do things her way. Earn her standing. She’s looking for the opposite of what her family expects. She doesn’t want cute and safe. She wants a little danger.
Bennett is a senator with high political aspirations. He has his eyes set on the White House and he’s not alone. Power. Control. Secrets. He also has a darker side. One that must be kept quiet or he can kiss his future goodbye.
One night is all it takes. Not knowing a thing about the other, just shocking chemistry. They go their separate ways but fate has other ideas. Xavie ends up as Bennett’s new intern. And yes, it’s what you’re thinking but more. A primal and raw connection. He brings out her true side. These two are explosive. Seduced by the Senator was just the introduction and I can’t wait to see them take the next step. I am DEFINITELY going to need Laid Bare!!
“When she’s my submissive, she’ll call me “Master” or “Sir” as I instruct her about her own pleasure. Her education will start with learning about self-control. A journey that begins with her kneeling before me until I’m good and ready to let her stand.”
“I hunger to hear her come all right, come all the way undone. I need to hear her shatter apart. The way I felt last night—out of control—out of my mind, and only now when I’m inside her, do I feel like I’m whole.”
“You’re different. Hell, I’m different when I’m with you.”
“Like I said before, I want you. I’m going to have you, Xavia Stillman Kennedy.” “That’s not an understanding. That’s a threat,” “It’s the truth. Unless you’d like to stop this from ever happening again.”
“Let me run this by you. We fuck. It’s out of this world. We want to fuck some more. We are going to fuck some more, and we’re going to do it for hours. Christ, for days. Every possible way. I’m going to own your mouth, your tits, your pussy, your ass, and everything in between. Does that sound more like a plan you can live with?”
Hooked from the start! I can already tell that this series is going to be incredible from just the first hundred pages or so. This is just the beginning of what is to be a spicy, political, and suspenseful journey!
Xavia Stillman Kennedy (24), yes of the famous Kennedy’s, is trying forge her own path without the use of her family name in the world of politics in Washington D.C. Before they even know each other’s true identities, she has a steamy run in with Bennett Stone (36) at a club while she out with friends. She learns of Bennet’s true identity, AKA Senator Stone potential candidate for the VP spot, it’s then she decides to apply for an intern position for his office, which of course she gets because of her name and connections.
The chemistry between Xavia and Bennett is absolutely intoxicating! Xavia is incredibly reluctant to begin a secret relationship with Bennett due to a plethora of reasons, however what her body is wants can not be ignored. Bennett breaks all of his own rules, and all loses all self control around Xavia. The spice is absolutely delicious… Bennett is a Dom looking for a Sub and he is not expecting to be so attracted to Xavia, who is incredibly strong willed and stubborn. They are a match made in heaven; their banter and the tension between the two is so captivating!
This first book sets the stage for so much to come! Looking forward to finding out what happens at The Clubhouse, how secrets that have been hinted at begin to unravel, and what Xavia and Stone’s relationship transforms into.
Thank you so much to The Author Agency and Susan Arden for the early copy! Can’t wait for Laid Bare, anxiously awaiting to see what comes next!

Chemistry. Obsession. Power. If I had to pick three words to describe this introduction into the Dirty Little Secrets world those would be it!
The attraction between Bennett and Xavia is insane and Arden makes you feel it through every word on the page. It’s immediate and all-consuming. They’re both obsessed with each other, obsessed with paving a way for themselves and that path brings them both to the same intersection. They both come from power, hold power over each other and hope to use that power to accomplish great things.
I’m so intrigued by how this story will unfold and can’t wait for the next release, Laid Bare.
Seduced By The Senator is Book 1 of Arden’s Dirty Little Secrets trilogy and does end on a cliffhanger. It’s currently included in Kindle Unlimited and also available in e-book and paperback format. The remaining installments, Laid Bare and Beautiful Betrayal, are set to release later this year.
Thank you to The Author Agency & Susan Arden for the ARC!
Wow, I don’t even know where to start with this. This is so erotic but there is also a great plot and storyline at play. It’s also not erotic in the traditional sense because we are more or less getting their internal mindset of each other and what’s happening between them, as opposed to just smut. This ends in a cliffhanger and I think this book is needed in order to understand the explosive chemistry between these two. Bennett Stone is an incredibly good looking U.S. Senator with a secret “hobby.” Xavia Stillman Kennedy is in her last year in graduate school and takes a job as his staff intern in order get experience, connections and hopefully distance herself from her controlling, power hungry family. These two first have a chance encounter weeks before in a club and only share a kiss. When she shows up as his new intern the sparks fly. But there is trouble brewing behind the scenes with her family, and he has politics and his career to deal with. This book was definitely spicy with promises of much, much more in the longer book two. I really loved this. The authors choice of sparring words, political jargon and their internal battles was off the charts great writing. I was hooked from page one and can’t wait for book two!
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
Xavia Stillman Kennedy is a twenty four year old student in Boston College. She’s granddaughter of the infamous Stillmans, and a stepdaughter to a New York Kennedy. Her mother remarried and never told Xavia who’s her father. She wants nothing to do with Stillmans and their banks. She wants to pave her own way. Her best friend, Jon, helps her get a position as an intern staffer for the Senator Bennett Stone. He doesn’t know that, but Xavia and Ben already met. Seven weeks ago they shared a heated kiss in the hallway of a club in New York.
They both couldn’t forget about each other. Stone thinks that she has ulterior motives, and she does, but he doesn’t need to know all of them. It is harder and harder to act professionally with each passing moment. Soon, they give in to their desire. I loved their chemistry and passion.
Overall I loved this book very much and can’t wait for more. If you’re looking for a boss/employee, forbidden romance then you’re going to love it.
“Around you, it’s what I hunger to do. I want to possess you. Entirely, Ms. Kennedy.”😮💨♥️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️😮💨
“Seduced by the Senator “ is a dark workplace erotic romance, Secret Society, BDSM , insta-lust , political aspects, age gap, MMC Senator Bennett Stone billionaire playboy/future Vice President, MFC Intern Xavia Kennedy, from a Influential and powerful family. It gives off major “Fifty Shades of Grey “ vibes but with more political themes.
This book did intrigued me because of the certain tropes, mostly the Secret Society ( the private BDSM club) but apparently I going have to wait to read about that because this book was mostly a intro to MFC Xavia and MMC Bennett’s forbidden relationship. It was ok I was curious, so I just kept on reading and but unfortunately it ended with them not engaged with the “Secret Society “ yet . So will I read the next book? Probably lol 😂
The sexual tension and sizzling chemistry between the two main characters was definitely there ❤️🔥😮💨 and made you wanting more!
Overall I enjoyed reading this book but I just wish it had more of what I was looking for. ♥️
I can for sure say that they felt attracted to each other in an instant. Xavia is caged and wants to get out. She craves freedom, and Bennett is her ticket. The political sphere is well and alive in this one, but what’s even more alive is the tension and surrender between them.
The way he wanted her so badly but couldn’t have her—it's electric. Both of them are in tough positions due to their backgrounds and future prospects. Bennett is demanding and has a certain presence, while Xavia makes him work for her complete surrender.
Even though their relationship started off unconventional, Xavia found something while working as an intern for Bennett: purpose. This book is all about vibes. Don’t look for a whole lot of plot, but if you’re seeking pure, unadulterated lust, then this is the one for you.
What I do want to add is that I think this book is a stepping stone for the next in the series. I want to see their relationship evolve from just lust to also love.
* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is book one and ends on a cliffhanger and I am not mad about it! Book- Seduced by the Senator (Book 1 of Dirty Little Secret Trilogy)
Senator Bennett Stone is a man who is always in control until Xavia Kennedy aka XS comes back into his life. He can't control himself whenever he is around XS. His dominant side comes out to play. He can't afford a scandal to ruin his political career but he can't afford to let her go.
Xavia Kennedy aka XS meets the senator in a dark hallway one night and they have instant attraction but then he walks away. She starts to work for his campaign and even though she has secrets she can't let her feelings for the hot senator ruin her family's reputation.
Bennett is one sexy dominant alpha. 🔥The chemistry and heat in this book is chef's kiss. 🔥
What to Expect: Age Gap ♥️Alpha Male 🤍Boss/Intern 💙Contemporary ♥️Dark Romance 🤍Edge Play 💙Enemies-to-Lovers ♥️Morally Grey MMC 🤍One Night Stand 💙Pain Play ♥️Revenge 🤍Secret Society 💙Strong FMC ♥️Touch Her and D!e 🤍Workplace Romance 💙Political Romance ♥️BDSM vibes 🤍Strong sassy FMC ♥️Billionaire romance 🤍Sex Club 💙Breathe play (hope that’s what’s called)
I absolutely cannot wait for the second book!! As I was nearing the end of the book I thought I was going to give it 3-4 stars because even though I loved it-I felt the story was too short but I’m glad I was wrong and that Xavia and Bennett are getting a second book! The cliffhanger ended perfectly as well.
The spice is also 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵
I don’t think I’ve ever read a political-ish romance book so this was a good surprise. Think 50 shades of grey but a little darker and with politics.
*as always-made sure to read the authors trigger warnings
Xavia’s character is trying to figure out her life on her own terms without her family’s intervention and involvement and Bennett is breaking the rules he has set for himself as he is climbing the political ladder and along the way they both have secrets that will have you on the edge of your seat and wanting more because not all the secrets are spoiled in this book.
A political, age gap romance with a darker spicy side that will have you wanting more.. i can not wait for book 2 because this was fantastic.
Xavia is a strong minded FMC who carrys the heavy expectations of her double surname. She doesn't want to do what her family expects, which is why her best friend jon gives her a a job offer to move closer to him in DC. Except the job involves working in close proximity with Bennett.
Bennett (Mr. Senator) has some dark tendencies with his personal life😜 but he only shows the world a calm cool exterior. He is up and coming and wanted by the current VP to join in the next campaign as the running mate.. but his lustfull encounter with a girl from a club one night has his mind scrambled. Now he must deal with the new intern and see if shes worth the work to get her up to speed .. except Xavia is not just the new Intern.
This is my first political style book and certainly has converted me to adding more into my reading list!
Congratulations Susan on a fantastic start to the series 😈
I was invested in this story for the first half of the book, enjoying the plot and characters. However, I feel that the narrative has untapped potential, with some areas requiring development. Certain scenes feel rushed, while others need additional backstory. I was particularly disappointed with the characterization of Senator Stone, who is portrayed as a powerful and dominant figure but fails to live up to this description. His inability to control his desires and tendency to be easily distracted undermine his character, and his portrayal as a DOM (dominant) feels inaccurate. He comes off as a lost puppy with his tail stuck between his legs. Furthermore, the story's pacing is hindered by time lapses that left me feeling frustrated and disconnected. Despite my initial enthusiasm, I found myself struggling to stay engaged. The conclusion implied they (FMC & MMC) have some sort of tragic trauma they will eventually bond over… which seems expected and unnecessary. 3.5 stars for me.

I was drawn to this book because of its intriguing blurb and tropes. It promised a hot and captivating read! However, I didn't realize it was the first in a trilogy until I had already started. I prefer to read duets and trilogies all at once because I'm too impatient to wait for the next instalments. 🤣🤣
The book follows Senator Bennett Stone and Xavia Kennedy after they experience a chance meeting that sparks an unfulfilled passion between them, evolving into a complicated romance marked by a boss-intern dynamic and multiple layers of prohibition. Xavia seeks to break free from her powerful family's shadow and establish her own identity.
This book is heavy on smut, with a lot of inner monologue, a writing style I generally don't enjoy. The characters felt flat, with the MMC focused solely on seduction and the FMC on resisting him. While the book delivers on its promise of steamy scenes, I was hoping for a more intriguing substantial plot.
If you're in the mood for a spicy and quick read with plenty of steamy scenes, this book might be just what you're looking for!
Tropes
Billionaire Boss/Intern Workplace Romance Age Gap (12 Years) BDSM Political Grey Alpha MMC Secret Romance Strong FMC
I have to be honest, I started and stopped this book because I couldn’t get into it at first. But I went back and finished it and am still a little conflicted. It had tropes that I love and it’s political, which I don’t think we have enough romances of. So while I loved the idea of the workplace romance, Dom/sub elements, age gap, etc, it just didn’t hit all the way with me. It was very spicy and I loved those scenes, I just didn’t really connect with the characters or story as a whole.
As always, these are my opinions and others may love this book. It’s available now on Kindle Unlimited. Thanks to the author and The Author Agency for the arc.

Susan Arden gives us intrigue, secrets, chemistry, and all the spice from start to finish in Seduced By the Senator. You'll find yourself having a hard time putting down the book to get anything else done!
Senator Bennett Stone is on the campaign trail headed for the VP nomination. He never sees Xavia Stillman Kennedy coming. Bennett and Xavia's dark and delicious connection is instant and palpable. The secrets start to unfold on both sides and tie the couple more deeply together.
Susan has done a fantastic job writing and developing this story and these characters. What a great start to a new series!
If you love dark romance, spicy secrets, and political intrigue then get this book.
Two influential people collide in this book of passion, intrigue, secrets and suspense. Senator Bennett Stone and Xavia Stillman Kennedy a chance encounter leaves passion unfulfilled between these two that turns into a Boss/intern and forbidden romance on more than one front. She is trying to get out from under her influential family and carve out her own path.
This was super spicy read with all Bennetts dirty talk and his Dom/sub mentality. It will be burning up the pages! This was not a standalone and will continue into the next book. I definitely have questions about Xavia past and some of the secrets she has. Both of them have so much to lose if things come out. Nothing remains a secret forever so it will be I treating to see how things play out. Bennett definitely has the “MINE” down where she is concerned.
While the story itself was a great plot, the execution left me a little wanting. The writing of the Dom was more inaccurate than accurate, but the source was still there so that was a plus. Author was very descriptive, I didn't doubt the setting or surroundings. Sometimes the book got a little too into the weeds for me, which made it drag a bit, but that's just not my taste, some love that! This author has a nice writing style and she gave me good entertainment. Overall it was a good book, I know many who will absolutely LOVE this! I do look forward to trying more of her writing and see if other works speak to me more, I have high hopes!
