My Naughty Wishes  Review . . .

I was able to read this as a whole instead of it being a serial. Even though I don't mind the idea of serials I find I like reading them as a whole and now that they are fully released everyone can have the same experiences.  Since I got it as a whole I'm reviewing it as a whole.

"Being Dominant or submissive can be an orientation, like being gay and straight."

I LOVE the way it was set up within each part.  Sam, Geoff and Chris are all best friends and roommates but they are also in love with each other but how do you pick just one?  Sam knows she wants both of them but how does she convince the other two to get on board.  Since Sam is more submissive in nature and Geoff is the true dominant.  In the first part, it's about Sam getting Geoff on board as he's the key to this triad.  With Chris out of town Sam and Geoff start to explore each other waiting for Chris to return.

"Geoff, you know the reason BDSM gets such a bad rep?  It's extremely hard to explain in a politically correct way just how intense and right a healthy power exchange feels to the people involved in it. . . ."

In the second part it's now convincing Chris that this trio is what will work and this part is focused more on Chris and Sam with Geoff in the wings.  Chris is reluctant at first but so in love with Sam that he wants to make it work.  However, he's not sure how Geoff fits in this equation especially with his deep secret feelings for his best friend.

In the third part with now Sam away is about Chris and Geoff.  This part is essential if they are going to work.  Chris was a tough nut to crack but once he gives in sparks fly.  However with one dominant, and one submissive where does Chris fit in?   I have to admit that this was my favorite part of the series.  There was just something so beautiful when Chris and Geoff are together.

"I want you both to know I'm yours," he murmured.  "Every part of me.  If I could figure out a way to brand it on my heart and soul, I would.  You can destroy me with nothing but a word.  It fucking scares me like nothing else, and it makes me happier than I've ever been in my life."

Now in the fourth part we get to have all of them together.  This is where they figure out the fine details but here is also where Sam got a bit annoying to me.  I was loving every part of this until then.  I know she was concerned but instead of talking to the others, which is key within a triad.  Instead she just kept fretting about it until Geoff spanked it out of her.  And then her insecurities, don't even get me started.  More often than not lately heroine's insecurities are driving me batty.

This series is a spin off series from the Naughty Bits series but it can be read as a standalone.  It's erotic and beautiful.  Joey W. Hill has such a skill at writing erotica.  If you love this genre and have never read Joey W. Hill then now is the time.  So, far everything that I have ever read from her has been great.  I did love the concept of this book and I loved how the series was set up with each part broken into separate but very important parts.  The chemistry was through the roof, yowza!  It was a fun, passionate, erotica yet beautiful story about love.

Review for Naughty Wishes 1-4 by Joey W. Hill

I’m reviewing all four parts of the Naughty Wishes series by Joey W. Hill in this one review, so please keep that in mind. I will keep details vague to prevent any major spoilers.

Samantha, Geoff, and Chris are roommates. They’ve formed a close bond and have become a unit. The truth of things is that their is an attraction that runs deep between the three of them. This book follows their journey as they stumble through the growing pains of transforming their platonic friendships into lovers. The added complication is that they all love each other and have the desire to keep their unit whole.

I absolutely love this series. Samantha is so giving and loving. Tired of dropping subtle hints to Geoff and Chris, she took matters into her own hands and left Geoff no doubt what she wanted from him. It took a lot courage and I completely respect her for that. She’s a strong character, especially taking on the strong personalities of the two men she loves and helping them to not only claim their love for her, but also their need for each other.

Geoff, holy dominant Batman! Talk about hot, hot, hot. He’s a strong character and demands submission from Samantha — which she is more than happy to give. He understands what a gift it is and cherishes her like he should. The hiccup is that he also wants submission from Chris who has a desire to submit, but can’t get over the hang up that it’ll make him seem weak. Watching Geoff tread the rough waters of both parts of their triad and grow as not only a dominant, but a man and lover made it impossible not to fall in love with him.

Then we have Chris who is a bit of a question mark. Finding where he fit into their three-way love wasn’t as simple. He had a hard time wrapping his head around Samantha’s need for full submission to Geoff, not to mention wrapping his head around his own hidden desires to submit to Geoff’s will. I think watching him go through this journey was the most fulfilling. He had the most growing to do as a character and the author wrote his character in a way that you could feel every single emotion he had throughout the book.

The polyamorous relationship that these three characters share is beautiful. There is a perfect balance of push and pull during the story and each novella leaves you in a place where you can’t wait to dig into the next. Four Stars for storyline and Five Drenched Panties.

Reader Beware: This book may cause spontaneous combustion! The smut is phenomenal and you’ll be a melted puddle of lust with each one. Types of scenes: M/F, M/M, M/F/M, F/M/M.

This review is for the entire four-part NAUGHTY WISHES series. The story starts off with a bang as Samantha, who is in love with both of her male roommates, begins exploring how to take the ménage a trois from fantasy to reality. I was anxious to see how Joey Hill (whose writing I really enjoy) would explore the emotional aspects of this relationship, and the first two installments were compelling and hot as hell. By part three, however, the extensive love scenes had become repetitious. Worse, I just was never convinced that all three were equally in love with one another. Rather, I felt like Sam and Chris were in love with one another, and domme Geoff just wanted Chris but had to take Sam as part of the package. What started for me as a five-star delight dropped to about three stars.

Ms. Hill’s writing doesn’t hold me in thrall like it used to - I think her writing style of slow, deep introspection about the subtleties of BDSM relationships is wonderful for people new to the concepts. I do still enjoy her writing though. This is a good serial, and it was satisfying to watch the trio find their way together. I really liked that this was not a menage with the two men only pleasing the woman, instead it was a true triad, with all three mixing it up.

This isn't really my review of Naughty Wishes Part IV, but my thoughts about all parts.

A few months ago, after Knight Nostalgia: A Knights of the Board Room Anthology reminded me of how much I love reading BDSM romances penned by Joey W. Hill, I just had to read something else she wrote. Naughty Wishes was the logical choice. After all, I had read the first novella way back in 2015, and for whatever reason hadn't read the rest. It was a lapse on my part I was finally going to rectify.

I started with Part II, thinking I remembered enough from the first part not to get lost. Wrong! So I went back to Body to refresh my memory. Aaaand.... this time around I wasn't so into it. I've left the rating and the review I wrote back when I first read it, but now it would be three stars, the same rating I gave to the rest of the novellas. Three stars is far from being a bad thing — it means I liked it — but I am used to giving Joey W. Hill's works a higher rating than that. I expected to like this series more than I did is what I'm saying. I certainly expected it would be a much quicker read. I can't blame real life for the amount of time it took me to read these four novellas. No, real life can't be blamed in this case, but I think I've figured out what can.

Geoff, Chris, and Samantha had been friends for years, and for years they'd all wanted to be more than friends, none of them daring to take the leap in fear of spoiling the friendship they shared. Sam was the one to make the first step to change that. That happened in Part I: Body. In each part these characters were figuring out their relationship: in the first part, it was Sam and Geoff, in the second, Sam and Chris, the third was focused on Geoff and Chris, and the last one was about the three of them together. Figuring out how to make a relationship work is something I've rightfully come to expect from Ms. Hill's romance books. That is what they are about — two (or more) people learning how to be together described in great detail. I know not to expect a plot with lots of twists and turns, and I didn't expect it or want it when I started Naughty Wishes again. However, that changed at some point while I was reading it. I got an itch for a book with twists and turns, and this one couldn't scratch it.

Another thing is that Geoff, Sam, and Chris were all BDSM newbies, so they were not only figuring out how to make a functional relationship, but also learning the BDSM ropes. The whole situation was an unknown territory for them. They had to tread carefully, I know, and good for them. It would just seem that at this point I would prefer to read a BDSM romance with characters or at least one character who's had experience in the world. That's why whenever Logan, Troy, and Madison appeared, they would steal the show.

Overall, I liked Naughty Wishes, but I did not enjoy it as much or read it as quickly as I thought I would, and I've explained why that was, but there was something else. I felt like something was missing in that relationship Geoff, Sam, and Chris were building. I just couldn't put my finger on it... I can't put my finger on it...

Soul, the fourth installment in Joey Hill’s Naughty Wishes serial picks up where part three ended. Samantha, Geoff, and Chris must now learn to navigate the waters of a mutual menage relationship. Geoff and Chris have now gotten some alone time to feel out how their sexuality works. Adding Sam into the mix was bound to be explosive and Joey delivers on all fronts. It’s safe to say that Soul has the most down and dirty sex compared to the other parts. You get every sexual permutation that a m/m/f menage can bring, but all with the underlying emotion that this author does so well. We also get to see this threesome “get out” a bit as an entity, which was entertaining and realistic. I appreciated that this story isn’t tied in a bow at the end. I’m starting to find the “ultra epilogue” a little bit played out. I don’t need to know every little future detail, how many babies they had, etc. I like that while there is a definite HEA, it’s more at the earlier stages of the relationship. Maybe Ms. Hill has more in store for us regarding this couple in the future? Will we see them at parties? I hope so. Chris and Geoff have a very unique relationship, not quite Dom/sub, but not without some level of power exchange. For me, it was the hottest part of the story and I’d love to read more scenes with them. This was a very rewarding serial and not so complex that I couldn’t remember the plot points when it came time to pick up the next installment. Joey Hill continues to be one of my top BDSM authors and I always look forward to what she has coming next.

This review is for all 4 parts of this story. I just couldn't differentiate between them as I read them back to back and they're all one story. Samantha and her 2 roommates, Geoff and Chris, take a journey that leads them to a polyamorous relationship. Sam is submissive and Geoff is dominant. Geoff and Chris have been friends since childhood and Chris knows of his friend's dominance. When friendship moves toward more for these three, each needs to grow and confront their own demons and insecurities. This journey spoke deeply to me about honesty and truth in relationships and how these three find what works for them in a world that doesn't always approve or condone. I love how real she writes their emotions and behaviors. I highly recommend this wonderfully moving series.

Another installment with Geoff, Chris and Sam, with, I suppose, all the indications of settling into a loving triad.

Yes, they have to overcome some difficulties, not least the snide aggression from a group of guys who think Sam is a 'whore' for being with 2 guys, and that the 2 guys are also f*cking each other. True, obviously, but the encounter is realistically bigoted enough to make one think PROPERLY of people who may be in this kind of relationship in Real Life, and how they have to deal.

Otherwise, skillful writing as usual; HOT in all the right places; and leaves one (usually me) with a silly grin for the HEA.

As all of Joey W. Hill's books and series, I hate seeing them end. This is has been difficult to finish, as the emotions become so heavy and thick with this trio as they find their path, as they hold their hope for a future, as their needs and desires to explore and fulfill grow and spread, as each find how they fit with the relationship. Hill weaves characters like no other, revealing the emotions, the inner conflicts, and allowing them to unwind as the story builds. Hill draws in her readers and makes us truly feel. If you are a fan of Tiffany Reisz, and haven't tried Joey W. Hill, there are parallels and both authors are truly brilliant at delivering their characters.

Soul is the perfect conclusion to the Naughty Wishes serial! Everything I was looking for happened and more. Geoff, Chris, and Samantha are perfect for one another, and I loved watching them figure it out.

All the tangled threads come together perfectly, and damn, there are some HOT moments in Soul - throughout the whole serial really. This trio is enticing and makes sparks fly.

Joey W. Hill is quickly becoming a favorite author of mine, as everything I read by her is awesome. Naughty Wishes is no exception to this rule.

Yummie, yummie ending of the Naughty Wishes Novels! Couldn't wish the ending any better, than it did in Part IV: Soul. The trinity romance blooms for the three roommates that have loved each other for years, and found their heart, soul, and true love in each others arms, soul, and heart. Only Joey W. Hill can bring the love out of three different souls into one soul. For each person found their place, took it in hand, and ran with it. Incredible. Naughty Wishes Novels are amazing, overwhelming, and tenderhearted.

This was a great book. I fell in love with the characters in this book from the start. Sam with her spunk Chris being calm and protective and Geoff is so dominant. They made the perfect triangle. Each being what the other needed. Please if you have not read this four part series you are definitely missing out on a great series. Joey is one of those authors that knows how to pull you into her wonderful worlds and you do not want to leave.

Naughty Wishes Part IV: Soul brings this series to an emotional ending. In previous installments Samantha, Geoff, and Chris brought their friendship and love for each other to the next level. Now they have to learn what that means and how to keep their blossoming relationships moving forward. This is erotic romance at its finest. Yes there is smoking hot sex but what really does it for me is the emotional interactions and growth between the characters. Nobody does it better than Joey W. Hill.

Part 4 of this series is all about Geoff, Sam and Chris reaching their full potential in a loving polyamorous D/s relationship. Sam's submissive needs are being fulfilled by both her men. Chris has finally accepted Geoff's need to top him. Geoff realuzes his Dominant need to care for the two people he treasures most in this world.

I love this series and the characters evolved as their stories developed.

Happy to get to the conclusion of Sam, Geoff and Chris's story! It's been a long time coming (pardon the pun) seeing the three of them adjust to how they feel about each other, including each of the individual couples as they work their way to an HEA. Steamy, compelling and emotional, it's been a wild ride and definitely worth the read!
