Jesse Winthrope is a self-made millionaire who has quickly risen from his own humble beginnings. Rocketed high into the upper echelons after the invention of his high efficiency Winthrope Steam Engine, Jesse is poised to take on the Western Frontier, starting in the city of Diablo.
Jenny Boone is from a hard-working farming family, living off the land far from the city and its technological marvels. However, circumstances beyond Jenny’s control force her into the clutches of a highly judgmental population.
Going to work in one of Winthrope’s factories, the two find each other and along with it a love that crosses both finances and prejudices.
Can their feelings for each other survive, or will society get the best of them, dousing the fire in their hearts?
In the beginning, Golden worked the standard corporate rat race, completed college for a Chemical Engineering Degree, and began a small photography company on the side. Since then, and the growth of the FuriousFotog brand, Golden became an internationally published modeling/fitness photographer and eventually began working as a book cover model.
Having been in the industry for at least six years, he has interfaced and networked with countless authors and other clients. As part of his work as a photographer, he worked with them to create book cover images - now numbering over 550 at the beginning of 2018.
Learning the ins and out of the book world, along with being an avid reader and storyteller himself, Golden finally decided to write and publish his first book, Homeward Bound, in 2016.
While this was interesting and I was captivated by what I read I can truly say that this book is not for me. I am one of many who feels this way as you can see to what the other reviewees have written.
Was I sucked into the story? Yes and no. I thought that the MC would have met earlier on in the book but they didn’t and when they did it was way past the 52 % mark. I was also under the impression that it would only be based around Jesse and Jenny but there are several POV that we get to see in the book. This obviously adds to the story yet it isn’t what I wanted. This is where I’m torn where I thought that it added additional layers to the book but where it was also something I personally wasn’t interested in.
The mind of the author is creative, offering in-depth characters with a world filled with raiders, barren lands, robots, and huge difference in societal classes. There is action, suspense with some banter that I liked now I love steampunk and I’ve read quite a few books in this genre but this book just wasn’t for me. It could be that the paranormal aspect was missing that adds for me more spice to a book.
There was just not enough romance in the book and the character meet far too late in the book that I lost interest. This is just ONE opinion of many and is to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Jesse was thrown into the family business at such a young age. He lives a lavish lifestyle, is insanely smart, and handsome but one thing he is lacking in his life is love.
Jenny is starting over in a new place and she meets Jesse as she is a worker in his factory. I liked these two as a couple because they were complete opposites of each other. This shows how you can find love in the most unexpected places including different social status.
Frost, I always seem to have soft spot for the bad boys and in my opinion he is just misunderstood. I'm hoping he will be able to redeem himself as the series continues.
Did I mention we get bots in this book?! I wasn't sure what to expect with the bots but I was not disappointed at all with the addition to the story!
As a huge fan of Czermak's Journeymen series I was excited and intrigued to see he was coming out with a Steampunk Romance Series. Honestly going in I had no idea what to expect. I've never read the Steampunk genre before, heck I didn't even know it existed until now. What I do know is that I was very impressed and I'm now hooked on the genre. I encourage everyone to take a chance and have a open mind when it comes to this book. This story had twist, turns, action, deceit and my favorite romance. Czermak has such a way with his words and storytelling. Whenever he creates a story he makes you feel like you are right alongside with the characters. His description to detail is like no other!! It was like having a movie playing out in my head the whole time I was reading. This story is told in several points of views but it's not overwhelming and I loved being inside each character's head and getting their backstory. I'm very excited to see where this series is headed and what Czermak will think of next! Well done!!
Soooo this isn't a genre I normally read. But I will have to say it was pretty good. This was my first Golden book and his writing style is very good and his descriptions of everything going on in the book was really cool. I felt like I could really see what was going on, in my head..lol Hope that makes since..lol Truthfully, I felt like the vision I would see was like the movie Wild, Wild West...lol It really was cool and made the book more interesting to read.
This book was about Jesse and Jenny...and Sex Bots!!!
There was instant chemistry and their love will be tested by people who don't feel this relationship should go on. Are you intrigued??? You should be!! And did I mention Sex Bots...you have to read the book to find out what that is all about!!! lol
I have to say that The Steam Tycoon is my favorite book by Golden so far. This was my first book in this genre and it was fantastic.
The Steam Tycoon is well written and full of action and suspense. The plot is very unique and creative and as with all of Golden’s books, the descriptive writing makes everything so real. The scenes and characters play out in your head, adding to the story. You feel like you are there and picture it all as it unfolds. It was all a lot of fun!!
We have a cast of characters that are well developed and loveable. From Jenny to Jesse to Aero to Aftershock, they are all great additions to the story. I will say Aftershock is my favorite. Of course we have the bad guy we all love to hate, Frost, because what’s a good story with a villain.
I’m not one to put the faces and things on covers and teasers to the story. That said, in this case, all the time and effort that Golden put into the visuals for this book and series definitely added to the reading experience. Things like the googles, hat and attire that I’ve seen definitely brought the steam punk idea to life in my head.
A fabulous start to a new series! You won’t be disappointed!! I cannot wait for the next book!!
What a wild and crazy ride. Amazingly descriptive characters and locations you feel like you're drawn into the world. Tons of action. Great story line. I did get lost a little bit but will for sure be reading the rest of the series.
Confession: I love anything to do with the steampunk culture, so when the opportunity arose to read Golden Czermak’s The Steam Tycoon, I grabbed that brass ring!
It is four hundred years after the Great Burning — a time when the depletion of fossil fuels lead to the collapse of civilization, bringing about death and disease — and the world now relies on the power of water as its source of energy. Both good and evil factions within the cities of the supercontinent, Eaugen, are on a constant search for technology that will enhance their methods of producing a sustainable power source.
Jesse Winthrope is at the helm of Winthrope, Ltd., one such energy producer. A young and noble soul, Jesse inherits Winthrope, Ltd, after the murder of his father, Maximilian. Headquartered in the city of Diablo, Jesse’s company is the proprietary manufacturer of steam capsules, as well as the prized WHESE (Winthrope High Efficiency Steam Engine). Young Jesse sees the good in the elevation of all citizens, not just the elite. He has distain for the repression of a people based upon their situation in life.
Across town, Lucas Frost, owner of Frost Industries, represents the greed and evil faction that has no use for the downtrodden. An abusive tyrant, Lucas has longed to be rid of Jesse, along with Jesse’s moral code. Lucas has coveted Winthrope’s technology and waits for the day he can claim it as his own. In order to do that, he needs to rid the world of Jesse Winthrope.
Golden Czermak’s The Steam Tycoon is the first entry of his new Steam Tycoon Series, and I loved it. More science fiction than romance, Czermak has incorporated the tenets of steampunk philosophy and culture into a suspenseful and imaginative story. While rife with heroes and villains, the main character of the story was, for me, all the great steampunk! We have steam propelled weapons, goggles that allow sight through clouds, flying ornithopters, bowlers and corsets! We have bots for pleasure and bots for work, holotubes for communication, cogs and gears for currency! And let’s not leave out the camelos and lutrines! Czermak’s detail in the construction of his steam society is fantastic, and his characters all serve to enhance the author’s steampunk universe. Heroic Jesse Winthrope stands true to his beliefs, and for that, he gains the love of Jenny Boone — a woman who society would label lower class, therefore an unworthy match for him. Again, the author holding true to steampunk philosophy regarding the necessity of rebellion fueled by class repression.
I could go on and on about the details and characters in The Steam Tycoon, but if you’re unsure about the whole steampunk culture, think of this story as a bit of Jules Verne meets The Wild, Wild West — it’s an adventure, a romance, a fast-moving ride through the steampunk universe. Hitch a ride on an ornithopter and enjoy!
Golden Czermak’s The Steam Tycoon contains scenes of graphic violence and sex, and is for mature audiences.
It took me longer than expected to read this book. This is not a book I flew through since Steampunk is a new genre to me. I actually cross referenced because of the historical aspects involved. You are thrown back in time where steam tycoons fought to be better than the next. From the authentic description of clothing to the outer and poorer areas of big cities this book has a historical edge I really fell in love with. I really appreciated the footnotes on some of the words used in this book because they help to get a better understanding of what is going on within the story. The mix of past, present and future is perfectly integrated, especially with the robots. Aero is a futuristic version of robot with programmed tasks but also a human side that can express feelings and thoughts. To me Aero is an extremely important character in this book because he is yet loyal to his ruthless owner but sees the destruction his master is causing and is willing to break that bond to fight for the better cause. Him and Aftershock form a bond that brings past and future together effortlessly where they stand side by side fighting for a better tomorrow for everybody. Aero and Aftershock have quickly become my favorite characters in this book. The book is built on the relationship of Jenny, a women from the poor area of the Gulch, and Jesse, a steam tycoon that is well respected by citizens but hated by fellow steam tycoon Frost. When their battle comes head to head this book takes on a level of suspense that keeps you glued to the pages. This book has it all...historical aspects, greed, power, murder, love and hate. Golden Czermak's visions really come to life in this book and you are easily transformed into a world where the past meets present meets future. This is a must have book in every book lovers library and a great start to a new series.
This was my first time reading a book in this genre. I really didn't know what to expect to be honest. What I got was a CREATIVE MASTERPIECE and one hell of a thrilling ride. Golden has a way of drawing a picture that transports you right in the middle of his books. Golden didn't disappoint being a newbie to this genre he made it so easy to visualize the city, clothing, well everything.
As I turned each page the suspense of what was going to happen had me on the edge of my seat. Just waiting to see what Jesse, Frost, Jenny, Aero and Aftershock would being facing. This book was absolutely intriguing full of everything you would ever want while reading. The Steam Tycoon has love, heartbreak, hot sex, betrayal, action and some pretty amazing life changing adventures
A little about these characters Jesse Winthrope and Lucas Frost are bitter rivals and this rivalry has some explosive interactions. Jesse is a caring compassionate but so strong character, Frost is the complete opposite he only cares about winning and destroying Jesse and anyone who gets in his way. Then you have Jenny who is a woman who has had so many losses you would think she would be broken and beat down. She is what I would call a rebel who isn't afraid of what life is going to throw at her next. Jenny is a survivor. Aero is a sexbot that's all I will say about him. Aftershock is the badass he takes no prisoners.
I'm giving The Steam Tycoon five stars which I don't think is enough. I will be reading more books in this genre. Author Golden Czermak truly is a creative genius. With his stories we get a glimpse into what is going on in the beautiful mind. I highly recommend The Steam Tycoon and I'm impatiently wait for the next book. This book is a standalone within a series.
If you have read Author Golden Czermak before I recommend you check out his work.
The Steam Tycoon is the first book in Golden Czermak’s Steam Tycoon series and I was blown away by the amount of research and dedication that Golden put in this book to make it as amazing as it was. I really love this era and this is the first book written in the “steampunk” era that I have wanted to finish the series. This book was uniquely written with such detail you could actually close your eyes and picture yourself standing next to the characters, so hats off to your sir! The other thing that made this book stand out to me is that it is not written directly from the characters POVs throughout; most of the book is almost like a narration of the story so it made it much easier, in my opinion, to follow along with all of the different characters. With all that being said, the only thing that really bothered me was that I wish Jesse and Jenny could have met sooner and that we could have seen more of their relationship develop. I understand that the romance aspect was not the point of this story but I just feel like there should have been more. I also understand that this book was the set up for the rest of the series and I cannot wait to read more of this creative, unique and amazing world. I really hope that Aftershock and Aero appear in the rest of the series because I can’t wait to see where that goes… All of this being said, I highly recommend that you get started with this series now so that you are all set when the next books come out. If you like books that are different than the norm, books that have something new to offer, books full of mystery, deception, secrets, loyalty and finding the light at the end of the tunnel; than get going and one-click this book now.
Creative, descriptive, thrilling, suspenseful and totally spellbound with Steam Tycoon. Let me just begin with, I've never read any of this genre before. Even with the teasers, I thought to myself, how can Golden Czermack pull this off? And I can tell you with no uncertainty, he blew it out of the park.
Jesse Winthrope is a millionaire who well known in Diablo. He's is an Inventor. He's savvy in technology. He's humble and wants his town to flourish. But he feels that his life is missing that special someone. Jenny Boone is from a farm town but in a blink of an eye, she's left with nothing. She's strong, tough and courageous. With outside help, she survives the trek to Diablo. And when she sees Jesse, she was enchanted from the beginning. Jenny sees the good in Jesse and how kind he is to everyone. But when the two come together, they become one. The love is strong.
Not everyone likes Winthrope. A lot of rivalry, hate and jealousy. Enter Lucas Frost. Without giving any spoilers away, the two have known each other for a long time. And friends they are not. Frost is totally different from Winthrope. He will stop at nothing to overcome and to beat him. With Lucas's creation of a sexbot, Aero watches and he sees something that troublesome. And knows that he has to intervene.
"I dream of the day humanity can put aside its petty differences in mutual support for each other".
Throughout Steam Tycoon, we are introduced to several characters. I cannot wait till we see the next story in this series. I was completely blown away!!!
Golden Czermak takes you through this steampunk tale with a cast of colorful characters on both sides of the moral compass. Jesse Winthrope is the noble hero of this story… He wishes to better the world through the development of steam technology that will benefit all levels of society. Of course his rival, Lucas Frost, disagrees with how Jesse thinks and lives. Mr. Czermak does a superb job of embedding within the story real struggles that exist in our culture for so many people. Harsh prejudices and rifts between the social classes, as well as greed and lust for power all bring the sad reality that humanity doesn’t learn from its mistakes into this story. While I enjoy this author's talent for his use of descriptive language, at times I felt there were so many names and details that I had to go back through story to clarify things. For most of the book, it is as if you're reading two parallel stories that don’t converge until the second half of the book. Jesse's part of the story was filled with details and interactions that I believe are designed to guide the reader through the world that is created in this story and will serve as building blocks for future books. However, the parts of the story that take you on the journey of Jenny Boone and Aftershock were the more enjoyable pieces of the book. I did feel a bit rushed once all the major players meet toward the end of the book because that is when the pace of the story quickens. At the conclusion of The Steam Tycoon I felt that I wanted to know the characters a bit more and I am looking forward to the next part of this story.
This was a new genre for me but I have read other books by Golden so figured....let's give it a shot.
Now I'm not sure what I expected but this, it dragged at moments and others it felt it flew by too quickly.
Jesse and Jenny, I liked their character and what they wanted for their lives. Dreaming of overcoming the class difference so that everyone could enjoy the wealth and riches of their hard work. Both suffer tragedy at young ages and you can see how that impacts them as adults.
Frost is Jesse's business rival and an all out nasty man. Not just because of his psychotic obsession with a one of a kind sex-bot he built to look like his lost love that he never really had.
Aero is the sex-bot who it turns out is more human than some humans. He understands love, compassion, and knows clearly what is the right thing to do. He also realizes that the "life" he has with Frost is not life but just an endless form of torture and abuse.
Aftershock...the banished ex-leader of a band of raiders. His secret yearnings and longings told to the wrong person have led him to be shunned by all. Except our rag tag bunch....Jesse, Jenny, and Aero.
There are other side characters that make for some fun conversations. There are lessons all over the story. That even as we hit our goals remember to bring up others with us. Every person deserves love and respect. And the ever important, never judge a book by it's cover.
Now with the way the book ended I am interested in seeing if this journey will continue and how these characters will once again interact with one another now the "bad guy" is dead....but he wasn't working alone was he???
This was one breath-taking, epic adventure that held me captive from the very first page. I love when a book sucks me in so completely that I feel like I'm actually living the action, and that's exactly how I felt whilst reading this amazing tale. If I could choose any single book to see play out on the big screen it would be this one.
The characters are all well-developed - some loveable, the others not so much; while the descriptive landscapes are so well written, again it felt like I was right there next to the characters as they trudged through the dusty wastelands, or elbowed their way through the busy markets of Diablo.
Usually, I'm able to latch onto one particular character who stands out above all the others, but Jenny, Jesse, Aftershock and even Aero, each hold a equally large part of my heart. Jenny for her feistiness, Jesse for his humility and gentlemanly ways, Aftershock, well, he was just a force to be reckoned with - and he was all tatted sexiness, so yeah - Aero for his courage.
But, this book wasn't just an action-packed, thrill-ride. I took away so much from it - about kindness, tolerance and acceptance. There was something very profound that Aero mentioned about how he dreams of the day humanity can put away their petty differences, and how bots are better at it than their creators, and that?! That was Golden **no pun intended** :) !
It was such a pleasure being able to step into this world. Thank you General G for creating this masterpiece. I look forward to reading more from these characters and going on more amazing adventures.
Out of the most unusual books I have read, this one is it. Taking place in a time and place unknown to me and a genre I have not read before, but this Author has my attention from his other books, so I had to take a peek at this story also. The story took me from Jesse Winthrope who is a self made millionaire who rose from his humble beginnings into the high and upper echelons after the invention of his high efficiency steam engine. And he is also ready to take on the Western Frontier and the start is the city of Diablo. Jenny Boone is from a hard-working farming family, living off the land far from the city and its technological marvels. But as always there is a twist and things beyond Jenny's control force her into a highly judgmental population. She finds herself working in one of Jesse factories and as fate would have it, they do find each other, with a love that transcends both finances and prejudices. Along their story one has to wonder if their love and feelings will survive. A great story that took me to places unknown to me and entertained me to no end. If you want to find out what happens to the twp of them and to others that are great characters in the story read it, well worth it, thank you Golden for another great story.

Now this author really has my attention. He got me with another genre but when I seen he was trying his hand at steampunk novel I really sat up. My eccentric tastes I found out a few years ago was actually a shoe in with what is called steampunk with since then discovering some good series and novels. Now this author takes me to this world I love with his characters. He also hits it with the things that generate in this world example being gears and steam. If you are not a lover I do believe this one will either convert you or dissuade you when there is not a interest. Since I did not really go into this one expecting it to be a big in romance but wanted more of the genre it is written in I was not disappointed. It does have a bit of it with the characters Jesse and Jenny but that is not all what you get from this. Chemistry is there that is enough to build the steam needed to heat up this one. He also has a element in this one not thought of but have seen in a different compacity in stage shows for this genre. He will take you along on this journey not letting you go but sinking you in there with how he has written it. It was not hard for me to escape there either liking this stuff too. I hope to see more from him with this also.
Holy Hannah I LOVED this book! I am relatively new to the Steampunk genre and this book was so amazing. It made me wish all the rest were out in the series. I was immediately drawn into the world that author Golden Czermak has created. He takes his time in setting up this Steampunk world and it is quite fascinating. This Steampunk romance is full of twists, turns, love and betrayal.
Wild West and romance are quite entertwined in the Sci-fi Steampunk world that Jesse Winthrop and Jenny Boone live in. This story is the epitome of the steampunk genre, encompassing the rebellion that is necessary because of the repression of people. Even the villian, Frost is somewhat likeable to me. I mean I do love a good bad boy! The steampunk elements are everywhere...from the gears being used as money, the steam powered weapons and even the sexbots. Yup...sexbots. Steamy! The other characters like Aftershock and Aero add even more to the novel and I was so on the edge of my seat that I could not stop reading.
If you are new to the Steampunk genre like I am, do not fear. Golden Czermak has made it so easy to see and follow that you will not want to put this one down. I cannot wait to read more of his books! Pick this one up now!
I have read and loved all of this authors other books so reading this one was a no brainer. The steam punk genre was new to me, it took me a minute to get the time period and lifestyle right in my head. The detailed descriptions of architecture and technology helped and soon I was in the story, I was fascinated but it was when Jenny entered that I was hooked. I liked her right off! She had so much spunk and sass! I would have loved to see more of Jenny and Jesse's love story but that is just me I am a hopeless romantic. It was so far in the book when they finally met and we didn't see much together time but what we did see was fun and sweet. I am just greedy! Altough we did get a bit of Frost's unusual romance. And that was, well interesting?? The Fued between Frost and Jesse kept the story interesting all the way to the action packed end. By far my favorite part of this book was the description of the characters, their clothes and their surroundings. Golden painted pictures with words and I could easily see everything of that era. The ending leads me to believe there will be more and I will be watching for it.
I was really excited about getting my hands on this book as I've never read any books in the steampunk genre before. After all is said and done, I think Golden Czermak did a great job. This book is complex but not so much that it is hard to understand. We were introduced to quite a few characters though the main characters are Jesse and Jenny. Jesse had to grow up rather quickly due to unfortunate events. However, those events didn't make him jaded. He still ended up with a good heart, wanting to help those less fortunate than he. Jenny doesn't back down from anything. She didn't let anyone take advantage of her though it seemed as she had to fight to keep things that way after every turn. I think that Jesse and Jenny had just enough in common to really click. I also loved the friendship Jenny had with Aftershock. It was definitely unconventional but you could tell that they truly bonded in the short time they spent with each other. I thought the story was flowed well. There were a few slow moments but it wasn't so bad that I lost interest in where the story was going. Golden has created a world that is truly unique and I look forward to reading more in this series.
It take a strong writer to release a story with multiple POV's, it take a strong writer to make sure it all makes sense, it takes a strong writer not to go bat Sh@@ Crazy while writing the story. For Golden Czermak he is that writer and I was so impressed with this story.
The Steam Tycoon is set in an era that has always been one of those back to the future moments. Jesse Winthrope has everything a man in that era wants. Riches, looks, smarts, and to know when he feels that the town should go back to the way it was. When his rival starts to heat things up it's time to look at all the alternatives. Jess has always been missing something and he finds it in Jenny Boone a woman who is strong willed and comes from another town. Their relationship is new when things go for the worst.
However insert an outsider and a bot and this story becomes extremely steamy. Told from all sides of town with intrigue, drama, murder, and sex. Hang on to your Gears, because this story is going to take you for a ride.
The details and inner workings of this story are mind blowing! Cogs and gears, tubes and steam with a Victorian feel, makes this a story worth looking into past the cover. Once again you are dropped into a world that is so vast in characters and cultures you honestly need to read slowly to soak up every detail Golden throws at you. I liked that Jesse and Jenny didn't play a game of cat and mouse when it came to expressing their feelings for each other. That can get old and borning and with them being of two different worlds/backgrounds, that made them more appealing both together and separately. Then theres Frost, always trying to top Jesse, nothing wrong with business compition, but when he's tested too far with demands and expectations, you never know when he's going to finally snap and do the unthinkable. The action, the political cruptness, danger and new beginnings are what make this story very well rounded and fun to read!
Ok so this was a totally different genre for me to read. However, I wanted to read and see where this author was going to take me. I was NOT disappointed!!
The two lead characters Jessie & Jenny were two people that I could relate to for the fact they were both struggling to move past the huge tragedies they were dealt but at different ages. However both of them have had to struggle for different reasons.
This book was filled with suspense from the very beginning. As a reader I was waiting to see what was going to happen next and I was never sure what was going to happen next.
The other characters in this book were honestly some that I was shocked to be drawn to ..... especially Frost. I am still not sure why I was finding myself cheering for him in the story, but I was time after time. While he was the one that kept going up against Jessie for years. These two men have been fighting against each other turn after turn for everything they have and what they want.
This is the first book I've read by this author and overall really enjoyed and plan an reading the next book in the series. This book has a scifi feel to it, and is a little outside the box of what I normally read. This book shows Golden as a master of descriptive text; however, it may be a little too descriptive. I sometimes got so lost in the description that I would have to go back and re-read a few pages because I felt like I might have missed something, and 99% of the time that was the case. With already knowing that this is the start of a new series for him, it's obvious that he is setting the stage with this book. You'll be introduced to a lot of characters (some who make it, some who don't) and I feel like I might need a companion book to help keep things straight or I might need to re-read and take notes. There is a lot of development of various relationships occurring that will probably ebb and flow throughout the series.
Golden's words and descriptions drew me in and wove me through this amazing steampunk world he has created. He created a movie real of the characters and the story in my head. I would picture all of the characters, cities, and technology that he was creating.
I like to read steampunk books but find at times the language they use can be a little confusing but that isn't the case with The Steam Tycoon. He made it easy to put yourself in the world with all of the characters. He also made it a breeze to love some of the characters and hate others. I loved the story and all of the creativity and emotion in it. I can't wait for more.
OMG! As someone who has never cared for anything steam punk all I can say is I'VE BEEN CONVERTED! I feel as if I was sucked into a world where everything I know just doesn't exist. I want to live in this book. Like pack my bags and just move into it and never come back!
Once again Golden Czermak has went above and beyond, not just with character development and story line, he's managed to create a whole new world of wonders. From new and interesting places and animals to sex robots, this story is full of surprises.
Weather you're familiar with his writing or he's new to you, this is one story you do not want to miss out on.
Golden Czermak always leaves me wanting more...he is outstanding! I didn't know what to expect in a steampunk novel but I loved it! "The Steam Tycoon," was amazing it totally took me to another world. I could imagine the cities how they were with the poor and rich, even with the bots being used. The poor fending for the least bit of scrap they can find. Things running and tended to by bots things ran by steam. Two companies fighting for rights for control. One is Jesse Winthrope a man wanting to help the little man and the other is Frost a evil guy trying to control everything and does not care for anyone.
An amazing journey filled with love, greed and enterprise! This book gripped my attention from the very beginning and wouldn't let go!
It was masterfully written with strong characters and wonderful descriptions that basically dropped the reader right in the middle of situations alongside its characters! I feel as if I went through an emotional rollercoaster....feeling Jenny's loss then love found, Jesse's hopes for a better future for all, Lucas' greed and jealousy, Aero's conflicts and Aftershock's need to break free from stereotyping.
Not my first steampunk themed book, but definitely one of my favorites!
Wow!!!!! I was absolutely blown away by this book! I've never read anything like this and it was amazing!! Golden goes into great detail with this story. It all felt so real and made me feel like I was right there with the Jesse. Golden's creativity is through the roof amazeballs!! There is so much going on in this book; suspense, passion, love, the list just keeps on. It really is everything you can possibly want all wrapped into a book. Job well done!! I can't wait for the next book in the series!!!
OMG I loved The Steam Tycoon. It had everything, a well thought out world, love, romance, action, and adventure. I can't wait for the next one in the series. Czermak has built such a rich environment you can't help but see it play out like a movie in your head. I just loved and connected with every character. Aero, Jenny, Aftershock, Jesse, Pyrofly, Duncan, Evelyn, and Marcus all hold special little places in my heart now.
