BEFORE you read my review.. please please please note that I had zero intentions of reading this book if I wasn't left with a WTFOOL happen moment at the end of book 1... I would have never read this book..Now that is not to say that this book wasn't good or wouldn't be good to other readers... I just have zero interest in reading about other characters then the ones in the first book (Paige and Bobby).. it's very rare that I read secondary books where the main characters from the first book are not at the forefront... Yes it's odd.. but hey that's me... so with all that being said...

The book was okay.. I wasn't into because I really didn't get into the Marcus and Rita story in the beginning.. I wasn't invested. Now did I want to know what the hell was the problem and why was everyone tip toeing around the elephant in the room during book 1.. sure but it didn't nag me enough to really want to read about it. I would have been just fine with only Bobby and Paige and again if book one would have ended with the norm HEA I wouldn't have bothered with this one (This is seriously a case of.. "it's not you it's me) Now I will say if you loved or really enjoyed this Marcus character during book 1 then you will be in for a treat book 2... and you will really enjoy the whole backstory and the outcome in this book... again don't take my review as anything other than a reader who just wanted the completion of Paige and Bobby story.

Signing off... It's not you.. it's really me.

Another great read by this author. I loved Marcus and I frankly did not think Rita deserved him. She was the one who messed up and make them waste 5 years of their lives for no good reason. I did not like Rita much I found her to be childish and a very selfish person. Marcus was loving and always there for her and was running to protect her and making sure she was taken care of.

Still worth a read but not my favourite story by this author.

5 Star Kindle Unlimited Read

I expected this installment to begin where boon one left off. However,to my shock, the story back up well into the first book, only revealing the story behind Rita and Marcus and tenuous relationship.

UPDATE
Yes, I love this world so much that when I finally made it through my massive amounts of email and noticed new releases... I had to start from the beginning. As a woman, I love these alpha in control men that will do anything to protect their families and the women they love. But I also love these strong woman who stand beside their men, not behind!

Just Okay

Not sure why, but it was harder for me to connect with this book. Part of it may be the fact that a lot of characters are introduced in this book so I had a hard time remembering the cast of characters and how they are all related. I also didn't connect at an emotional level with the hero and heroine, particularly not with Rita. For half of the book she got on my nerves, I thought she was so immature. The long separations Rita and Marcus endured didn't really make sense to me. Rita seemed to be too young to be in the security business. I guess I didn't like this book as much because plot seemed less plausible

I'm not usually a fan of books that have flashbacks, but the flashbacks really worked for this book. I loved the tension between Rita and Marcus. They had so much love for each other, but so many obstacles and secrets keeping them apart. I did feel this family held way too many secrets and if they only communicated better, most of their problems would be nonexistent. The craziness at the end was a little over the top and I couldn't quite figure out how it fit into Rita and Marcus' story. It fit more with the first book in the series as far as conclusions go. Overall, I thought this was a pretty good book. I connected with the characters. There was good pacing as well. It was a page turner and I can't wait to read Nate and Pam's story.

I LOVE Blue Saffire, but this book was NOT it. I can't remember a main character as vexing and cringe worthy as this female. I tried and tried to read this vi but had to skip parts because the lack of maturity just dragged on and on and on and on. I'm glad I fell in love with Blue Saffire before reading this book.

Wow

Okay, loved the book, my only problem with the first and this one is the female lead being to strong. At least with the first she realized she was wrong and stepped up, in this one she realized she was wrong and still continued with her mess...Great book but frustrating.

Rita is a runner, but Marcus always catches his prey

One of my biggest issues with this book is that Rita is a runner.

When she was younger I understood that. But now that she's older she's still running. So much so that I kept saying "come on girl get it together!"

But Marcus is determined to have her and the minute it was announce that her engagement is over. He drop everything and I do mean everything and went after his true love.

AND SHE STILL RAN. 🤦🏽🤦🏽 * Face to Palm*
SMH.

There story of how they met is so worth reading. I really enjoy and love the face that Blue Saffire has her books like this. Especially if the two main characters has a past together, and it starts off young. She doesn't skip over it. But instead touch based on it so you get a real feeling of the history between them.

I really like this book and since I read book 3 before this one. I'm now onto the next book hopefully it will be about Marie and Jasper.

What a roller coaster ride

Some women have to realize that one can lead a horse to water but you just can't make them drink. The Mairettie men know who they want and they are patient enough to wait for them, even if it kills them to wait. Marcus called himself doing the right thing by waiting until Rita got older because of their age difference. The only reason why he was with Julia was because he heard about Rita's engagement to another man after she ran away to Italy. Julia just tried too hard. Marcus was not feeling her at all. He bided his time and waited for Rita to come to her senses. Just when everything was fitting into place and James and Minnie's matchmaking was successful, all hell broke loose from another woman scorned by a Mairettie man. Some women just can't take being rejected.

The Mairettie and Briggs family are a tight-knit and loving group. Just don't cross them or hurt anyone in their circle. I can see James and Minnie playing matchmaker with Nate and Pam.

Absolutely Awesome

Blue Saffire always have a wonderful way to plot a series! There is a alpha male and a beautiful lady heroine. This story is of Marcus and Rita. This the continued story of the Mairettie and Briggs families which we know from Bobby and Paige story in Legally Bound. Rita is Nate's younger sister. Which starts with all of them meeting at vacation on the island. There is lots of drama and romance. Secrets are unveiled, betrayal and lies are all in the mixed which makes it i oh so good to read because of the writing. This makes me so sorry it took so long to get to Blue Saffire but I am so happy I finally started to binge on her books. My Kindle have never made me so happy to read. I really enjoy this series,

Marcus and Rita's story was nice enough. I liked them as couple but as individuals they kind of got on my nerves. Their whole many separations were for childish reasons. Marcus seemed a bit cold to me. I felt he could have went to Rita but he was all up in his silly feelings. And, Rita, although young she irritated me. The ending made up for the middle but the Bad Guys were just meh for me. Loved seeing Bobby and Paige and I just purchased Nate and Pam and the Book 5.0 - 5.4. I previously read this series out of order so I've already ready Wyatt, Noah, Uri and NicNic. I absolutely loved NicNic and Reese's book and Uri and Val.

Yasss, yassss, OMG!

So I read these out of order, yes I did that. Then I had to go back and read what I missed, I kept bypassing this one ☝🏽 I let reading the reviews detour me ( Rita running) that will not happen again. Marcus was everything!!! His love for Rita, yes she was young and foolish but the way Blue put this together… It irritates me with the lack communication that ppl have in life but that’s just it…LIFE. We all have those moments right. I love all the characters in this series, the alpha males, the head strong women, the parents who still get their freak on. Awesome work Blue!!!!

Ya Knew It was gonna be Good

I knew this would be a great follow up to Legally Bound. Poor Marcus it looked like he was never going to catch a break. I knew Rita and he would eventually be together, but Jeez Louise, so much misinterpretation and stubbornness.
I have to admit, the first time I read this book, I made the obvious mistakes with the culprits. But that's because these books are so well written and expertly leads you to where the Author want to have you misdirected.
Loving this return down this series, I'm picking up things I totally missed the first time.

Awesomsauce

This book here, will have you pulling at your lace front. I guess after reading this series for the second time. I can honestly say that, I’m a huge fan of the Mariette and Briggs Clan.
Marcus and Rita are the epitome of second chance rule. When you read this book you’ll know what I’m saying.

I’m so looking forward to reading Nate’s story ALL over again.

Any opinions expressed within this review are solely and uniquely made by me and I am happily leaving this review.

Marcus and Rita

This was a great read but Rita was irking my nerves a little bit. She was just to childish at times. Marcus had told her and showed her how much he loved her and it wasn't enough. She wanted him to chase her down also. I'm glad Julia took her L and went on about her business cause she really wasn't for Marcus. What surprised me tho is who really kidnapped the boys. Julia was my number one suspect. I see I was wrong. I'm glad they got the boys back and everyone is happy..... Well almost everyone.💗💗

Love the Mariettie Family

After reading Bobby and Paige's story, I could not wait to jump into Marcus and Rita's. As happy as I am the two of them finally got their stuff together, I can't help but to admit that Rita was wearing me out. I know she was young and had some maturing to do, but my goodness the running away, the games and her not being able to make up her mind. In the end angst was all worth it. Really great series so far.

I wanted to like this book. I really did but the couple itself was a no for me. They were dating when she was eighteen and he was in his early 20s. A huge no. They had literally no chemistry at all, nor were they a believable couple. All the heroine did was cry all the time. The villain of this story was as bland as white bread. I want to like this author's work, but I just don't think it will happen for me. It was so poorly written as well. Not even the smut could save it.

4 instead of 5

I have to admit it took me a little longer to finish this one because Rita's constant running and games go on my last nerve. So 4 instead of 5 stars. But I kept at it and finished the book. I hope Pam and Nate don't go through that because I'm excited for their story.

I started of order and now I'm back tracking from the beginning. I already read 3 of the Brothers Black and love them so here I am and I'm not disappointed.

Just AHHH

So much happened! I am soo happy for Marcus and Rita! I was getting pissed off though, with her being so childish. Like go back and get your man!! Ahhh! I am loving all the love displayed with the brothers and their wives and children. I am hoping to see something happen with Nate and Pamela. There’s 4 books left, so I’m sure it has to happen in one of them, right?! Such an amazing book and story!

Legally bound to against the law

This is the third time I have read this book and each time it seems to get better. The characters seem to walk off the page the romance the love scenes the mystery all rolled into one fantastic book. Blue Saffire you are an awesome story teller, keep writing these wonderful stories. Because right now I am one of your biggest fans.

Great Read Continues

The drama and action continues with Marcus & Rita and everyone else. I’m really enjoying this series all the love and compassion that’s share through the family & friends. One complaint someone should have beat Whitney butt, she deserves that whipping. I will happily read this series over & over

.

This was so fucking stupid. It was disgusting at first this huge age gap. I see that Marcus really tried to wait but Rita really was young and immature as her age showed. She definitely needed time to grow up and that bullshit she pulled being fake engaged was ridiculous. She was fucking stupid and so was Marcus. I'm really hating the beginning of this series.

Great story

These leading ladies, first Paige, and now Rita. She certainly took being stubborn and immature to the next level. But still, the Mairette men still loved them. So happy for Marcus.

Alright...
This read was alright for the most. The age difference in the beginning was a bit much. I hope the other reads have characters that don't know each other. These move quickly but it takes away from the story when we can't get into the characters because they already know each other.

Fantastic

You did it again! I was rooting for Rita and Marcus the whole time. I love how you made Marcus such a stand up guy in wanting to wait until Rita was 21. This man loved her forever. That damn Whitney bat shit crazy glad she didn’t harm the babies. #1 Fan

Good book

Marcus and Rita were a great couple and they had so much love for each other. Whitney was truly a basket case and should be handled accordingly. I hated how these two waited so long to get their feelings told to one another. Can't wait to read about Nate and Pam.
