Ironically, to me it romanticize the love that God has for His creation and the love Jesus has for His Fathers creation. The love that The Creator and The Savior have is a selfless love.
The Creator God gave all His love to His creation only asking for the same love in return. How can "we" as people get all His love and service and not want to return the same devotion, love, and service. If your husband or wife gives alk of himself to you through love, devotion, and service... Would you not want to do the same in return? How can "we" as a people receive so much love, devotion, and service from Our Creator and not want to return the same selfless love?
The Savior Jesus, manifest into man though the Breath of the Creator spent His entire time on Earth devoted to The Creator and to His brothers and sisters. Jesus took a lifetime getting to know The Father. The Jesus took the love, devotion, and service He learned from His Father and due to the love He was taught, shared that love with "us" going one step further teaching of unconstitutional love and forgiveness. Again, I have to ask; How can "we" as a people receive so much love, devotion, service, teaching, and forgiveness from Our Savior and not want to return the same selfless love?
The Trinity, for me is hard to understand and even harder to explain. But for me, my best and most recent understanding is like The Creator remained The Creator, but cloned Himself as human and spoke that clone into existence in the faithful virgin womb so that the sin of the world would not touch The Creator made flesh to be born.
When reading and listening to Jesus finale days as flesh and bone upon the Earth, was obviously gut wrenching hard on Him. Knowing what harsh punishment He was to face due to harden hearts of The Creators creation that He selflessly loved was about to put Him through.
Yes, He is the clone of The Creator but He is His own flesh. "Us" as normal humans facing the same punishment would be beyond terrified, shaking in our skin, and would run and hide from what was to come. Yet, Our Savior, took it all for "Us". Did he cry out to The Creator? Yes. But, what He did not do, was give up on "Us". At any moment Our Savior could have called on The Creator to take Him away from the torment He was insuring. He could have ask to be taken from the cross and the sting of death. The Savior did none of that. He took on the sin and punishment of man so "we" would not have to. Not any other flesh would be able to take on that much pain and sorrow. It makes one think and reflect on their own life.
How could you not want to devote yourself to such a great never ending love?...more
