“You’re mine. Mine to break, mine to mold. Mine to torture, and mine to give pleasure.”

A Kidnapping is the second book in the Under His Heel series. It was a shorter read but so so good.

Alex gets kidnapped along with Tracht’s young nephew Johan and is brutally tortured. Tracht is enraged and works to find and save him.

I loved that we got Tracht’s POV because we see that the captain has come to really care for Alex. I love that their relationship grew to be more than just bondservant and master. Is it romantic? It depends, I think. To me, there is deep affection between them, but it’s not your standard romance for sure. Their relationship is unique, and it works for them.

“He couldn’t tell them that he’d forced that loyalty on Alex, that he’d molded Alex in such a way as to cultivate a trust between them that nobody could ever understand”

I also loved seeing how angry and worried Tracht became because it solidified how much Alex means to him and makes me wonder, as they spend more time together, would their feelings morph into something akin to love, perhaps?

“There is not a single person more important to me than you. Not one. And while I am sure you will continue getting into trouble because that is your nature, I will not tolerate you throwing yourself into danger to shield somebody who is worth less to me than dirt.”

“He used to kiss Alex because he knew it disturbed him; now he did it because he liked showing his dominance and his affection in one gesture. It didn’t matter that Alex enjoyed the kisses.”

While it seems that things progressed, Alex is still his master’s pet and bondservant, and Tracht still gets off on his humiliation, pain and tears but seeing the lengths that Tracht goes for Alex was heartwarming.

Overall this was a wonderful addition to the series and much sweeter (?) compared to the first book. I can’t wait to start the next book!

Also, the fact that Johan gets his own book is exciting! Looking forward to reading his story.

The first chapter is on her website: http://adarawolf.com/index.php/books/... and it's SO good, if you love Tracht then you've gotta read it. I can't wait for the book to come out!

Under His Heel if fantastic, if you haven't read it yet I'm urging you all to do so asap. My review is here :)

YES! The only thing wrong with Under His Heel: A Kidnapping is that it's left me impatient for MORE! More Tracht. More Alex. Please Adara Wolf, as fast as you can write it!

This one was so satisfying, and an absolute must for fans of Under His Heel. All the little things about Alex and Tracht's relationship, any little questions you might have had from UHH, are explored and expanded in this one, it was perfect!

It was hella fun to experience a bit of Alex/Tract more from Tract’s perspective. Despite the serious subject matter, I loved the dark humor in this one as well. A great addition to this story. More musings hidden in the spoiler tag...

I don't really know what to say here. I don't want to gush but this was another messed up - in the best/worst way - story in the tale of Tracht and Alex. Like the review of Under His Heel, I'm pretty sure most reviews of this book are going to be more revealing about the reviewer then about the book, at least that seems to be true of my reviews of these books.

I shouldn't love that Tracht really doesn't love kids and that he has no more finer feelings for them than he does for strangers when compared to being inconvenienced in his life with Alex in any way. But I do. I shouldn't find his self awareness in how much he mildly hates Johan for the trouble he caused Tracht and subsequently Alex. But I do. I should be appalled by that kind of psychotic thinking. But I'm not. All of his single minded focus makes how much he loves torturing Alex that much more emotional. I shouldn't find Alex's indifference and mild resentment over Johan being upset by being kidnapped so understandable for Alex. But I do. I shouldn't find it fascinating that Alex doesn't personally grow or find any kind of meaning in life other than simple survival. Ever. But I do. I should be appalled that he isn't capable of the kind of introspection it takes to grow and see the world from a different lens. But I'm not. I shouldn't accept that in many ways, just being able to respond to stimuli and being trained to respond in the ways Tracht wants is about the most growth Alex will ever actually achieve. But I do. It makes it so much more intriguing to watch.

What is Tracht going to do next to mold him into what delights Tracht?

Since most of the book is taken up with the kidnapping which shows some personality and allows some character analysis, it doesn't spend enough time at all (re)advancing the the sadistic relationship very far and I found that extremely disappointing. Additionally because there is an excerpt from Under His Heel the book ended abruptly before I was anticipating the end which makes it feel very incomplete. In this instance, sadly, the book was much too short.

Adara Wolf's writing style is mature and professional and the editing, though not perfect, is on par with non self published books. I still think this is a pseud for an established writer, which doesn't matter except that I think it will interfere in how often we get to meet up with Tracht and Alex in future books. If I'm wrong, hopefully that just means we can get more soon, I hope.

Nice short

***3.5 stars***

It was a nice short story, but it’s hard to even put it on the same level as the first book. I did like how the readers are given a bigger glance at Tracht’s sister Anna and her family. In addition, we are given a little introduction to the Nilsen gang and the segue into the next book.

In which we have hurt/comfort but the comfort is more hurt.

After the first book, I would have sold my soul to get Tracht's POV and I guess I don't have to cause ADARA HAS DELIVERED UNTO US THE GLORIOUSLY FUCKED UP THOUGHTS OF JOHANNES TRACHT.

Tracht doesn't give a fuck about anything but Alex and I don't give a fuck about anything but them.

Why am I still reading this?! I think this is just so bizarre and weird and depraved that I keep reading to see what else the author can come up with. Thankfully, it wasn't any longer.

This is short (under 100 pages), but if this is the direction the rest of the story is going in, I'm liking it. It seems like a bigger plot is starting to form alongside the exploration of Alex and Tracht's fucked up dynamics. I loved getting Tracht's POV here, and I enjoyed some of the softer thoughts he had about Alex, in his own, sadistic way.

As with the first book, please read the CW on the author's website first if you're considering reading this.

I enjoy this series but I missed the connection between Alex & Tracht in this one ... these two are dynamic together in a sadistic way !

This is a continuation of the dark master/slave tale of Alex and Tracht (what a creepy name!) story introduced in book 1, Under His Heel. In this installment, we see how Tracht is getting attached to his slave, Alex, although Tracht would be the last to realize it and it made me laugh to see Tracht’s unrecognized (by him) growing attachment to his slave, Alex.

Also it was pretty funny how much Tracht hated his family members and interaction with his sister and her children, especially his annoying nephew-namesake!

It’s rare to find a character completely dead to any sentimentality or tenderness toward children! If there have to be any children in a book, I prefer they stay in the misery or be away at boarding school. I really cannot stand manipulative cutesy shit with kids in my reading material. Adara Wolf makes no apologies for Tract’s hatred of his child-relatives. They get on his nerves. But behaves appropriately to them. Hint: Alex is punished for his Ha!

I don’t think the author was going for comedy here, but I laughed out loud and chortled a couple of times!

Yes, Tracht has got it bad! TeeHee!

This was such a great novella!

I loved getting Tracht's POV after the first book. Seeing him struggle to deal with his feelings for Alex was hilarious and adorable. His total disdain for everyone else was perfect, exactly as I imagined while reading the first book. Him and Alex are so well matched in their dislike of kids and people too, just great.

Some very touching romantic moments (consider the context lol) as well. Excited to carry on with their story!!

I love these books. In this novella Alex is kidnapped and tortured while Tracht must watch it live. Of course Tracht is horrified because someone else is torturing his beloved Alex.

It’s hard to call these books romances, but these two have developed a weird dependent relationship. This is a short novella, but it is a lead-in to the next book.

This is just a short check in with Tracht and Alex. This time, Alex ends up in trouble because he helps to save Tracht's nephew. That makes Tracht mad because he doesn't really care about his sister's kids and because someone took Alex and hurt him. Plus there's the whole thing with his sister.

I still like Alex and Tracht. I don't like Anna. She's just rude and terrible.

This was too mellow. I expected something with many teeth and a lot of juice, but it was tame. Very tame. We still don’t know who hired the kidnappers. I assumed it was in Tracht’s direct interest to find out, but I guess he was either sloppy or not as possessive as the author claims him to be or just... didn’t give crap about his family business and personal belongings? I am still hoping he pulls himself together in book three and the culprit gets what he/she deserves.

I was actually shaking by the end

At this point, I'm only hanging on because I need to see if Alex will choose to decide with Tracht after this is all over. I guess he would, but I really hope he doesn't. I hope he manages to get away and find some peace and happiness of his own.

A fantastic followup

This is on the shorter side, but stays very much in keeping with the tone of the first. It’s sort of in two parts: first, Alex’s kidnapping and Tracht’s reaction and attempts to find him, and then Alex’s subsequent reward and punishment.

There’s a part of me that sort of squirms and feels like I ought to be objecting to rather than enjoying Tracht’s sadism. He’s pretty much a sociopath - except he DOES care for Alex, and that is even clearer in this book than the last. It’s twisted, but I love it anyway. I’m hoping for more!

A perfect continuation of the first book. It is immensely gratifying to see Tracht’s POV, and to realize that his feelings for Alex go quite deep. He is still, absolutely, a sadist, but I loved seeing how much and how he thought of Alex. This book is more violent, due to the, uh kidnapping, but the relationship between Alex and Tract is a little less so, which I enjoyed.

Also, now I want to read about Tract retraining Alex. Dammit!

Loved getting Tracht’s POV in this short sequel. It had high stakes and more plot than book one and in turn gives a lot of insight into the duo’s feelings for each other. Spoiler alert, they run deep and fucked up and made me go awww but then grimace a little too.

Alex is kidnapped with Tracht's nephew Johan. Again poor Alex id treated terribly. I almost wonder why the author dislikes Alex so much to put him through so much pain. Alex is trying to be so brave and strong. But it's brutal..
Another disturbing but enthralling continuation of the relationship between Alex and Tracht. Their life is unconventional and sometimes hard to read but you find yourself turning the pages and before you know it, you've finished. If you like things on the dark side this book is for you.

The dark themes continue in this book but there is a bit of humanity. Alex has been kidnapped whilst trying to do some good. He endures a painfully torture at the hand of his kidnappers but Tracht comes to his rescue. Tracht is concerned even though he believes it because Alex is his property. He has a human side even if he is in denial about it. I enjoyed the continuation of this story.

This was a short little novella about Tracht and Alex. At this point I feel like finishing the series just because of how fucked up it is. Although I’m not sure that I should because I feel like I have no enjoyment from reading it. Think I may have to wait a little bit and read a nice little filler book before I continue this series.

URRRGGGG!!! Why do writers do that?!?! Just when it's getting good and kinky it ends. I want the details. I want to know what Tracht does to Alex in that last week in the story. Torture, torment, humiliation...I WANT MORE!!! Okay, rant over. A short but sweet continuation of the lives of Tracht and Alex. I can't help but wonder how it is that Alex feels no/0/notta/zilch empathy for other human beings? Yes, I know his past, but empathy is so inherent. I don't get a narcissistic vibe and he's not a sadist, well, maybe a revenge sadist ;) but nothing like Tracht. Google says that people who can't feel empathy are selfish and antisocial, and while Alex is both of those it feels bigger than that. Maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part. A possible redeeming factor for Alex.

I really enjoyed this short addition to Tracht and Alex. It displayed their personalities perfectly. It was sort of humorous with how ridiculous each character is in their own way..basically both of their interactions with Tracht's nephews. I wanted more time with the two MCs together but still enjoyed this story. I need more from these two!

This review is for the whole series as I binge read all four books.

Read these! You will not regret it, but clear your schedule first because you won’t want to stop reading them.

I was torn between feeling empathy for Alex and squirming with need for all the things that happened to him. But also low-key hating Tracht and also loving everything he did.

These were so deliciously dark with a very satisfying ending. All books must be read in order.

Highly recommend.

I loved this short story so much! We got to hear Tracht’s thoughts and finally get to see that he’s not a complete monster (still incredibly sadistic and evil, but not completely done for). I really need more like this from this author! It’s so rare to see a genuinely concerning yet addictive series!

This was terribly written and doesn't appear to have seen an editor. I have nothing against the dark, dub-con/non-con or extreme kink or anything like that. But this stretched much too far and I hated both characters. It was an unrealistic progression. I don't know why I kept reading... skimming, more like it... the series, but I did. Out of hope? Who knows.
