Morally Questionable #2

Morally Blasphemous

Rate this book
At seventeen, my family exiled me to a convent.

Pregnant and alone—a stain on the family name. For ten years, I did my best with the hand I was dealt. But a tragic event forced me to flee, looking for protection.

I found him. Marcello Lastra. A cold and brooding man.
Oddly appealing. Unnaturally tempting.
It was supposed to be a marriage in name only.

A simple arrangement to suit both of us. But sinister things keep happening around us, driving us closer than ever. Until the truth comes out—too late.

Marcello Lastra isn't what he seems.

I fell in love with a monster.

I’m not sure how to explain this book. It doesn’t have the usual mafia feel to it mostly because there’s a lot of horror elements in my opinion. I mean, I have read violent and dark books - but this is definitely a top contender in that category. I had to skim some very graphic violent scenes because I just couldn’t stomach them.

In regards to the plot itself - it wasn’t all that complicated or anything. I mean there are some twists - the biggest one I suspected it from the beginning so I wasn’t all that shocked really.

The MCs were good together, but I didn’t feel as if there were irrevocably each other’s soulmates - the way he was obsessed with her for such a long time - there were instances where I believed it but mostly it was a lot of tell. She was very inexperienced and hadn’t even been around other men much to say that he’s the one no matter what. She fell in love because of circumstances which is not a bad thing - but it just didn’t make me feel their connection that much.

I’m excited to read the rest of the series though.

i absolutely love, romances where introverts fall in love, its literally the best thing ever
so much tension between the mcs but both of them thinking the other doesn’t want them and loving them anyways without asking anything in return 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
what shocked the absolute hell out of me and made me love this book even more was the plot twist📈📈📈
spoilers and safety at the end

arranged marriage💍💍
mafia romance🖤
introvert mcs🥺
JP hero🦋
hero with h’s daughter>>>
traumatised hero🤧
hates touching people
and they share a heartbreakingly adorable past🫶🏼
H being the biggest marshmallow ever and then dirty talking in bed🥵🔥🔥
"You're so soaked, you're going to take me inside of you like the good girl you are."
the ballroom scene when someone almost sexually assaults the h and the ppl around blame her for being a whore just cause she’s a single mother so obviously she seduced him (eww btw) and the usually quiet hero loses his shit and just stabs the guy who’s talking shit about his wife and daughter in the eye😭🔥🔥🔥
and later blames himself for what happened to the h and falls to his knees and begs for forgiveness for not being able to protect her🫠🤍
“i’ll take care of you” energy✨✨
H has been in love with her the ENTIRE time😭🫶🏼🪐

Safety
-h and H technically each others firsts:
-the h got raped when she was young and got pregnant after which she never gets with anyone until the H
-the H’s father was a horrible, abusive, rapey, misogynist pig who would take his 14 year old son to brothels, intoxicate him and force the prostitutes on him, after some time the H himself began doing drugs to blackout during the visits to the brothels
after which he develops ptsd and gets panic attacks every time someone touches him
-H has been celibate ever since he first saw the fl (10 years ago)
-so, the mcs were actually each others first chosen ones
-no ow/om drama
-no cheating

now for the plot twist:

SPOILERS DOWN BELOW

after the mcs have gotten together (they’ve said ily and slept with each other multiple times at this point) the h one day starts receiving weird messages one of them being that the hero was actually the h’s daughter’s biological father….

is the mmc really the father yes
did he rape her? yes and no
now this is where things get complicated,
like i mentioned before the mcs shared some really cute moments 10 years ago which leads the H to fall for the fl, however the H’s dad being the asshole he is wants to get rid of any weakness his son has,
and now upon finding out that the H has fallen in love ofc he must destroy it
one day when the H comes back home, he finds the h stripped, tied and whipped
he is absolutely horrified upon seeing what his father has done and begs him to stop
it is there, that the father tells him to either rape her or watch her get raped by all his men and then get murdered
the H still begs for the h’s life and so his dad keeps a new condition if he can make him come he’ll spare the h’s life, this is a grown ass man talking to his son for fucks sake🤢🤢🤢 but still to save the h, marcello gives his father a fucking bj but before he can come the dad pushes him off and tells him that he’s sucks at giving bjs like honestly bitch what!???
now we come back to the earlier condition, the H is surrounded by the father’s men so obviously can’t do anything but still he begs on his knees for her and offers himself instead but he’s given no choice🤧🥲😭
the h was unconscious during the entire thing and then gets sent home secretly by the hero after the father’s attention wasn’t on her anymore
however the H can’t forgive himself, even after killing his father, starts self harming and almost killing himself bc of what he did to her

i honestly didn’t think it was the mmcs fault, cause he literally had no other choice
he genuinely loved the heroine and did everything he could to protect her🤍

my favourite quotes💌💌

For some people, his actions may seem too cruel, but for me they meant the world. No one's publicly stood up for me before. Marcello doesn't know it yet. But he's just become my guardian angel.

A few months ago I'd have never believed I would be able to touch another woman again. And now... I've spent the night with someone.
And she's not just anyone. This is Catalina... the woman I've dreamed about for the last ten years. The one that got away...

I want to be worthy in her eyes. Someone who she wouldn't be embarrassed of... someone she might learn to love...

"And you love me." She shoots back, arching an eyebrow, her lips twitching sheepishly. "So much it hurts." I tip her chin up with my finger, wanting to show her the sincerity in my eyes.
"There's nothing I wouldn't do for you, Lina. Tell me to die tomorrow, and I will. Tell me to live, and I'll be your servant. Forever." She blinks twice, a smile spreading on her lips. "Fine. As my servant, I command you to never stop loving me."
"Easy."
"And I want to have many, many children."
"Done."

When all you've ever known is cruelty, the one person who teaches you kindness becomes the center of your universe. You became mine, Lina. When you gave me that little bag with food, or when you tended my wounds, you made me believe there was something else in the world besides evil. You made me hope again." Even though that hope was dashed later on. She'd still shown me a different way of being, and for that she'd become my muse, my ultimate desire.

Wow, omg, wow. Is it possible to leave a review with just the one word, wow? Probably not, so I won’t try. Personally, speaking for myself, as I always express that every individual has their own taste, opinion and what they like, so, for me, this was an amazing emotional story. This was a standing ovation for me in the genre of mafia romances. As I’m reading, I’m getting the vibe of dark and Gothic background setting with old school mafia. This wasn’t just a romance story as I was so invested in the plot and the story of every character mentioned.

I have read dark romances where men are broken, but Marcello, I’ve never read anyone like him in a very long time and when I say, this man is broken, he is br.o.ken. For me, it wasn’t a turn off as the emotional aspect is what kept pulling me in. It was a good choice to have both POV in this story as you really get a sense of both characters makeup and backstory that brings everything together. Watching the metamorphosis of Marcello and Catalina was satisfying and worth the read. Catalina, I have nothing bad to say about her. She isn’t spicy, but she definitely is not weak either. These characters together were amazing to read.

This book boils down to true story telling. The best way to describe my experience, I can truly appreciate the author taking me on a journey of two parallel roads, each representing Marcello and Catalina. Once these roads intercept and becomes one, there is no going back.

Overall, this is a book that I had a hard time putting down. As much as I am crazy about this story, please take note to the author’s warning of the various triggers that are in this book. I personally don’t feel anything was done in poor taste, however, take heed to the warnings. It’s definitely an emotional ride as well so be prepared for that.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s definitely about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the stories you read. I know we all have different opinions and taste with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I'm officially a VL's fan

The fact that the books don't get the recognition it deserves makes me mad.

How are people NOT be talking about this series?

The twist and turn got me in stitches.

And ALSO THE LOYALTY.

The man was celibate for 10 years after seeing Catalina.

This is a rare fucking gem.
Especially when the plot is centred around a Mafia background.

How many mafia books have u read- and we are not talking about first meeting and all but the Hero actually MARRYING the heroine but STILL fking around with OW? 99.999% of Mafia books.

This is one of the many handful books out there that did the theme justice without resorting to useless OW shit.

Though there are like a shit ton of GORE in this book, I didn't mind, mostly because my focus was more on the couple itself, and heck even the mystery-mob story.

I felt it was executed well, at least more so than the previous story in terms of how things are more clearly addressed, and I can at LEAST trace the intertwined relationships between the characters.

This part was so sweet I had it bookmarked.

"There's nothing I wouldn't do for you, Lina. Tell me to die tomorrow, and I will. Tell me to live, and I'll be your servant. Forever."

This part BROKE ME

"You know," he tugs a hair strand behind my ear, his fingers lingering a little on the surface of my cheek. "I can't ever regret loving you. Not when you've been the brightest part of my life. In another life..." He lowers his head and swallows hard. "Maybe in another life, you'd still be you, and I'd be someone better. Someone you'd deserve. And maybe," he sniffles a sob, "maybe you'd love me a fraction of what I love you."

And this part irrevocably made my standard for men so high it can touch the sky.

I simply do not deserve you. Not now. Not like this. Not when I'm a broken man afraid to face his own demons. If what you said back there is true... that you forgive me... I want to forgive myself too. I want to become someone worthy of you. But for that, I need to help myself first. I can't in good conscience stay in your life knowing I'm a ticking bomb that may go off at any time. I can't expose you, or Claudia to that. I know I have no right to ask this, but... will you wait for me?
Forever yours, Marcello

HELLO, why can't I get my own Marcello?

Mafia trope Authors take note *Cough*Cora Reilly* Cough*
If the mafia men don't at least TRY to be worthy for the heroine, why am I bothering to read your book?
Also waiting is NOT equivalent to fking around with OW in the meantime.

Please take note from Marcello🤚

Not gonna lie, I am kinda scared to read the next book because it's about Enzo & Allegra.

Both are apparently cheating with one another, so I'm not sure how this is going to go in terms of my reading experience.

But I'm going to save my judgement until I read it.
A little excited and also a little scared pre-reading.

Please be warned that this book gets really really graphic, so if you are not comfortable with it_ I don't advise you to read it.

Till 80 percent or so, you might say, the story is dark, but not the romance. Just you wait, it is DARK AF too.

That plot twist left me beaten bruised and FUCKED OVER. Not in a million years I've would have guessed that shit.

Veronica, you are paying my therapy bills.

Marcello was just 🤌 so HOT, and my God, his past slapped me across the face, I COULD NOTTTTTT.

He was a good man, deep down. He is not like other dark romance heroes, yes he was possessive, psychotic (ripping the eye out of a man with a fork) obsessive but at the same time he was sweet, affectionate, a really good husband... aside from him being a whole killer, and another thing👀 he really is a good man.

I could never hate a man that hates being touched but he loves YOUR touch. Like, MEEE?? WDYMMMM???

Her eyes hold an expression of awe as she gazed at me. Bolstered by an unknown bravado, I take her hand in mine and let out a loud groan at the sensation. Tentatively, I wrap my fingers around hers and have to pause to regulate my breathing. It has been over a decade since I felt human contact that was not accompanied by pain. This is a new experience for me. "Lina," I rasp, attempting to convey the overwhelming emotions coursing through me, yet unable to find the words.

And yes, this was DARK. The romance was dark, their pasts were dark, Marcello's past is probably why this book was banned, I am a changed person honestly.

"Hey, you're beautiful no matter what. But I love your freckles, and I love looking at them." He lifts my chin to meet his gaze. "All one hundred thirty- nine of them." "One hundred thirty- nine...?" I blink in surprise. "How do you—" "I counted." He smiles proudly. "I've been watching you so much it's become a habit," he adds, a little self- consciously. His fingers trail softly against my skin, causing shivers to run down my spine. "Seventy- two on your left cheek," he says as he gently caresses my left side. "And sixty- two on your right cheek." I stare deeply into his eyes. "That's only one hundred thirty- four." His lips curl into a fond smile before pressing a quick kiss to the tip of my nose. "Five small ones on your nose," he whispers.

Trigger Warning!!! (Check the authors review for the details

Summary
Catalina had been exiled from her house at the age of 17 and since then has been living in a convent with her daughter, Claudia. Withstanding the cruel remarks being passed around her and biding her time until the day her brother will come and rescue both of them.

Marcello, all he wanted to do was atone for his past sins but after his brothers death he is forced back to join the hellhole he had tried so hard to leave behind. As the new head of the family he now needs to prove to everyone that he is not a weakling and just because he has been away for a few years doesn’t mean he has forgotten his upbringing.
One tragic event leads Catalina to Marcello and he is the only one at the moment who can protect her and her daughter. Can she trust Marcello with her heart or will his past sins be revealed and haunt both of them?

MARCELLOOOOOOO
Okay so let me just say that Marcello was the highlight of the book for me. Even during his lowest point I still couldn’t find myself to hate him. I was crying FOR him. That man has been through so much in his life! When things were revealed I wanted to go and kidnap Catalina on his behalf and make her forgive him instantly.

— I should have left when I had the chance after reading TWs. Gosh, why do I do this to myself all the time? 😭

I thought that this book would be okay, like dark-dark but not that dark, right? BUT IT WAS SO FUCKING DARK, PLEASE. I'm not traumatized because, duh, but everything was so dramatic and fast-paced. Like, everything was written like: he slapped me, but I am happy that I'm leaving? Where are the after-slap emotions, dear? 💀 Nvm.

WHAT YOU CAN FIND IN THIS BOOK:

🩸 Catalina simping on Marcello.
🩸 Super gross, super dark, twisted, depraved things that you've never read about.
🩸 More plot twists than an Indian soap opera.
🩸A serial killer, aka chimera storyline, that I did not understand.
🩸 Marcello constantly punishing himself, how he's a monster and sinner and he's guilty.
🩸 Marcello being a sweetie and saying please sorry more than 100 times which had me shocked.
🩸 over-dramatic bitches named as parents!
🩸A lot of backstory and detailed graphic scenes
🩸 the super dramatic and boring epilogue
🩸 Marcello doesn't like being touched but touching Catalina after some chapters!
🩸 more gore 🩸🩸🩸🩸
🩸Vlad and Assisi crumbs (I swear I read this whole book because I WANNA FUCKING START THEIRS).

— Okay, Imma be completely honest now. I seriously had zero interest in reading this, but the author suggested we do because it's not standalone! I SWEAR IT WAS THE MOST SICKENING BOOK I'VE EVER READ! You know, like, okay, you showed character depth by giving wayyyy too many graphic scenes, but why? And personally, I did not really like that super fast-paced writing much! It was like 395 pages long and with less good material!

— I swear, so much pain, torture, and abuse inflicted on each character was just too much! It doesn't (AND I'M TELLING YOU THIS IS NOT AFFECTING MY RATING). The male leads lacked chemistry.

— I'd probably leave so many spoilers because there are more than 200+ confusing twists, but well, Catalina and Marcello barely had chemistry! He supported her, and she liked him, and they kissed, had sex, and the SEX?? The most boring shit ever! 🙃 Please, I prefer enemies to lovers in these books and whatnot, but what they had was super boring. No sexual tension nothing ew!

— At the end, I was so frustrated I skipped all the torture and sex scenes, lmao, and focused on the plot, which was not shocking and boring as fuck? 🙂

About Allegra and Enzo! Tbh, I loved Enzo. He was nice to her sister, and I love him for that! Enzo and Allegra's book is most hated, lmao, from what I've seen in the reviews, and tbh they did not make a good impression on this book either! I don't give a fuck if they have a HEA and all, but what Allegra did in this book was horrible, and once again, I DON'T GIVE A FUCK IF SHE'S MENTALLY ILL. I'll probably skip their books for my mental and physical happiness! 💁🏻‍♀️

Assisi was a cutie! Vlad was cute too, tbh, but I'm super scared to read their book. Still, they were the only reason I finished this book, and while I did not like the author's writing style a lot, I'm gonna read their book too! It's like 700 pages long. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Ok

— About Raffaelo and Michele (from them I knew about this author hehe). So what Michele did was awful, but I'm waiting for his story. I don't know how he'll redeem himself! hehe

— Tbh this book had every fucking twisted thing I hated, and what Marcello did to Catalina when his father forced him was to an extreme the author could write! Like, why would you add that? 🤧💀

I wanna remove this book from my mind. I did not like it! The relationship was boring, the abuse scenes were too much and parents sucked obv? and most of all IT WAS CONFUSINSGSGGSGS! ☹️

PLS DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU EASILY GET AFFECTED BY DETAILED SCENES OF RAPE, (Ow and Heroine got raped and it's told in detail). Also child abuse is full on told in this book and every torture and the imagery is full on detail.

This review contains A LOT OF SPOILERS
!! Please read at your own discretion !!

⭐⭐⭐ ½

Overall Opinion: It's a good book, but damn, it's dark. I've rarely read a book with so many triggers. Especially the scenes about Marcello's youth are triggering.
The fact that Marcello is so "normal" with the "upbringing" he had and with the parents he had, is miraculous.
The darkest scene in the book was the rape of Lina, told from Marcello's POV. The behaviour of his father.... I really needed time to let it sink in.
But I did enjoy the book; especially the scenes between Lina and Marcello; how they slowly grow closer, how they trust each other and discover things.
I have not read the first book of the series (this book was recommended to me by a friend), but I have already bought the next one and will continue with that one.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Marcello and Catalina (Lina)'s and story; present (he is 31, she is 27) and their pasts.
Both are children of the capo of a mafia family: Lastra (Marcello) and Agosti (Catalina). Marcello is trained as their enforcer and assassin, Catalina as a daughter who can be married off to strengthen ties between two families. Marcello's childhood is downright dramatic, he flees the family, but when his brother (the current capo) dies, he must claim the place of capo. Lina is disowned by her father at 17 (after being kidnapped and raped) and lives in a convent for 10 years. When a new priest attacks her daughter, she intervenes and has to flee. Her brother (Enzo) has become the capo of the family and he takes her in again, but to protect her he must quickly find a husband (Marcello). They marry and then they get to know each other better and their trust grows (very beautiful scenes); we get to see their childhood (Marcello's story is very dark, Lina's was OK until she was raped) and there is a serial killer who has it out for them.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Marcello and Lina's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: good. I never skimmed

Instalove: Yes, they both fall in love at first sight, before they have even spoken (or remember that they have spoken before)

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Safe sex: No, but they are married, are both clean and both are open to children.

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Linguistics/Grammar OK, apart from the usual mistakes: for example: a preposition as "between" should be followed by objective pronouns (me, him, her, us) and not subjective pronouns (I, he, she, we).

MANY Triggers: including child abuse (physical and mental), child neglect, sexual abuse father-son, kidnapping, rape with conception, interrogation scenes ending in mutilation and murder, mutilation of corpses, suicide of a parent while child watches, etc.

Safety: This one is NOT SAFE for most safety gang readers. If you are a safety reader, avoid this book!

would recommend to: People with experience in reading dark books. This book is not dark, it is jet-black.

Well shit!

First lemme say, PLEASE CONSIDER THE TRIGGER WARNING!

With that out the way...this book was WHEW! I mean honestly, I didn’t know what to expect or even really what I was getting Into but boy was I pleasantly surprised! I’m a no triggers kind of girl, I can take pretty much anything and this book had it ALL! I will say, at first I was a little put off by the constant “change of scenery” like one minute i’m a 30 year old and the next i’m 8 and then i’m 15 then i’m 3 and then it’s present day but as I kept reading it all made sense! This book was everything, I read it every chance I got. I love love love Catalina and Claudia and I even love Marcelo. The hurt and the pain he’s living with on a constant AH, I ached for him! And then that two chapters to the end surprise! man oh man what a read!

I Loved This
*arc generously provided by the promo team in exchange for an honest review*

VERONICA HAS CREATED A WONDERFUL UNIVERSE OF MISCHIEF, MAYHEM & MURDEEEEEER. I‘M SORRY THAT THIS IS ALL CAPS, BUT THIS BOOK WAS ALL that ENERGY. IT‘S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FEEL FROM BOOK ONE, BUT IT WAS JUST AS ENTERTAINING AND AWESOME AS BOOK ONE IN MY EYES. PERHAPS EVEN A LITTLE BIT MORE BECAUSE SHE UPPED HER GAME. Play Gimme More by Britney and get ready for more books from Lancet! Yaaas bitches

I liked this book, but I’m glad I read this one last instead of reading it before Enzos and Vlads books. This was definitely my least favorite in the series and if I had read it first I probably wouldn’t have continued the series(so again I’m SOOO glad I read this last Bc I wouldn’t have discovered one of my new all time favorite books). I just don’t think Marcello and Linas relationship was very well developed and didn’t feel their connection. I was also MAJORLY disappointed in the role Claudia played, or should I say didn’t play. She wasn’t involved in the book literally at all and that made me so sad. There could’ve been so many scenes with Marcello and Claudia that would’ve been so good and there just weren’t any. I was also disappointed in how Lina just seemed to forget about Claudia once they moved in with Marcello, Claudia even mentions how Lina never had time for her anymore Bc she’s always with Marcello. Idk I was just looking forward to the single parent aspect of this book and it just wasn’t there at all so that disappointed me.

please note that this review will contain personal opinions at the end concerning plagiarism allegations.
And because of that this rating is for the whole series of Morally Questionable

⛔⛔Major Spoilers Ahead⛔⛔

First the review
there are 4 books in the series
Morally Corrupt 2.5 stars🌟🌟⚡
Morally Blasphemous 4.5 stars🌟🌟🌟🌟⚡
Morally Decadent 1 stars🌟
Morally Ambiguous 3 stars for Vlad but I DNFed at 50%🌟🌟🌟

which makes the whole series around 3 stars
🌟🌟🌟
What is special about these books is that they really give you the DARK MAFIA side
There is explicit detailing of how the killing, cutting , torturing and disembowelment takes place. so much gore, so much blood. Kind of the GoodFellas and the GodFather style. and to be honest, I liked this part. This is what I imagine Mafia bosses, capos and underbosses act
other books tone down the violence

so let me tell you that the characters in these books, especially the men are really, really really bad. not the morally grey we read and love. NO, THEY ARE LIKE PIT DARK BLACK HOLE THAT SUCKS EVERYTHING GOOD and they have no shame in showing it. I mean one character Enzo, pushed a rat (and in an older version of the book a python) inside his mother's Vgeygey for revenge!!! 😶😶how is that even possible I do not know heheeh 😉😄but again I enjoyed reading this part

Vlad, another deranged character, enjoys tasting his victims, he bites and sucks on their flesh
and of course these men (and one women Bianca from book 1) who put the Adam's family to shame are obsessed with their love interest.

The other thing I loved about the series is that the author is not afraid to push the boundaries with her Main leads. they are deranged, she knows it , so why not make them do the unthinkable. Marcello is forced to rape Lina at one point. Vlad does the same to Sisi (this one I hated because it was unjustifiable). Enzo forces pregnancy on Allegra.

The books are close to thrillers more than romance so personally I would categorize them as Dark Mafia Thrillers with a pinch of romance.

Now here is my issue with the books

1- they are damn long
book 1 is close to 450 page and book 3 is 700+ PAGES!!!! and it's not like the length was needed. many scenes were over prolonged, repetitive or unnecessary. you feel bored at some point and you start skimming certain chapters.
The writer must have studied biology or autopsy and wanted to show off her skill of describing in details how to cut open a person and take out all his organs.

2- The writing style is really amature. and by this, I mean that the dialogues give you the feel that children are talking not Scary Mafia bosses. There weren't any insightful lines or memorable Quotes. add to that, the timelines and plot holes are scattered here and there

3- some events made me do a double take and instead of filling me with awe, they made me laugh
- so a mafia man challenges you for your position and you choose CHESS as your weapon to drive a point that you are smart?! really!! but this same man who challenged you was the one driving you crazy for 2 years and almost had you killed. yeah, really smart!🙄😒
- you want to take revenge on you abusive mother so you open up her Hoha, put a rat🐀 inside that started eating your mother from the inside! I am really curious how you convinced the rat to push inside a Pu**y!!!!!😳
- you rape your love interest, but nothing says I am sorry like bringing her a human heart with her name carved on it!

This is the end of the reviews. What comes next is addressing the plagiarism allegations the author has issued against another author

as a person who works in the research department and oversees many dissertations and graduation papers, I know when plagiarism happens. and some of the ways to avoid this is either quote the person you took a paragraph from or you could paraphrase and rewrite with your own words.

I do not like to do this but unfortunately this author went far and beyond in slandering another Mafia Romance author and some of her followers are stalking the writer leaving one star reviews on her books which is shameful because without any legal action this is slander and defamation.

so Ms V has accused N of plagiarizing her books.
her evidence are
- one short paragraph that is supposedly similar in the idea (not word for word)
-and similarities between a certain character

Ms Veronica either did not read enough Mafia books or Dark Romances because if she (or her followers) had, they would notice that many scenes and characters are similar. and if every writer demanded the other writers to take down their books because a paragraph looks the same or a character acts the same, we'd have no Dark Romance

for example, I am an avid reader of Motorcycle club romances and in every series there are almost always, the PTSD brother who suffers in silent, the childhood traumatic man who appears funny on the outside but hides a dark demon inside, a character who enjoys torturing and so on and so on. and I dare any MC writer who doesn't have these characters in their series. so imagine the hilarious situation if one writer accuses the other of stealing ideas!

as a Mafia Romance lover, having read hundreds of books, the kidnapping of the h and tying her up to chair/pole/bed/wall then threatening the H to kill her is not a novice idea. so please get down from your high horse and smell the roses.

now let me give another example
you have the H who is brooding, his body is full of tattoos, hate to be touched by anyone, likes to cut off ppl's body parts, goes into violent episodes but only his h is able to sooth him down. again, sounds familiar? this is another accusation by Ms Veronica, but sweety this is the exact description of Tongue by K.L. Savage and I believe the book came out in 2020 while yours was in 2021, so who is stealing ideas now?

The tie her up to a chair/pole then the father threatens the H. the same scene happens in The Emperor by RuNyx. her book came out Jan 6th 2021 yours was Jan 5th 2021, don't tell me she plagiarized your idea in one day!!!!!!

an assassin in love with a detective and hides her personality from him while having a loving relationship. He is looking to capture her not knowing that the girl he loves is the one he is after. Isn't this Ms Veronica's book 1 theme? now where did I read that? oh yeah, it's the same idea of the Mindfck series by S.T. Abby which came out in 2016. tsk tsk tsk?

I am not saying that Ms V plaigarized! I am just pointing out that it's Ok to get inspired as long as you bring your own.

finally, if you are really sure of the plagiarism why didn't you take legal actions? involved the authorities? simple. you know that nothing will come out of it so your goons are doing the work for you

just be happy you are doing good as a writer and stop harassing others for things that you yourself are doing

good luck

Demands your whole attention

A second chance, slow burn, mind blowing dark romance book. It started right after and flowed smoothly from Morally Corrupt. It can be hard to enjoy this book without reading Corrupt. Can’t skim either, each word and paragraph delightfully and carefully thought of, they do give you stunning visuals that I think an Audible version might cause one to gag (if one isn’t desensitized to dark violent stories yet)
Marcello is a unique mafia boss and made man- hes got the looks and brain yet his resilience and enduring, unwavering love made him stand out amongst all other mafia bosses.
As far as the story between him and Catalina, it’s seriously f—- up, you’d wonder if that’s it, this is the end of their love, leaving one no choice but to find out how the author can weave a HEA.

I read this without reading book one. Although I could follow the story I’m hoping to go back and read book one.

I absolutely love dark stories. It’s my favourite genre and this has the wow factor for me.

If your looking for a dark and emotional read then I highly recommend this story.

reread Feb.-March 2023: still a masterpiece

5/5 stars

I absolutely love this book. I love Lina and Marcel's relationship, it was gut-wrenching and heartbreaking. I was so in love with Lina, I love her courage and Marcel's love for Lina was so heartwarming. The way that Lina is literally one of the only people that can actually touch him is just perfection. This book is just so addicting and is a masterpiece.

I’m not gonna rate this book yet. I’m still processing it. No, it was not a bad book, but it was a book where you definitely need to read the warnings.

This is the second book in the series and it was a lot better than the first book.
However, I felt it was more dark than romantic. It does cover some really dark topics so be sure to read the trigger warnings carefully!

I won this book as a ARC in a competition. What a great way to find a new author. I cant believe that this is Veronica second book. How the FUCK do authors come up with these stories.!! I am so happy I got to read this book. It's so refreshing to see new author jump right in, and write the darkest of the darkest books they can. I am someone who doesn't really reach for contemporary romance / sweet and lovely books. I liked them but I prefer taboo books, with a dark side but there isn't enough authors writing them.

I loved this book. Veronica has a brilliant mind.

This book is now in my top 5 best darkest romances.! Morally Blasphemous is on the level of Tillie Cole's darkness. If you read her Deadly Virtues series you will love Morally Blasphemous. It's dark, twisted and some of it heartbreaking but it's fantastic, the writing is great, it's a real page turner. When I was reading this my boyfriend asked me twice why I was making a funny/ strange face lol.

A little about the book. After disappearing 5 years ago, Marcello has return to the Famiglia to take over leadership as he brother has died. He has the worse past you can imagine. For him to gain respect from the Famiglia he has agreed to marry Catalina. She has spent most of her life in a convent.

Marcello is a man who has done the worse things a man can do.
Catalina is a woman who has been abandoned. She was sent away for her sins.

This is massive must read. I still need to read Morally Corrupt book 1. I'm hoping to read that soon. I'm obsessed with Vlad, Veronica has confirmed on IG that he is getting his own book. He is scary, he is a very different kind of soul.

-two damaged souls
-this book was full of triggers, i even skipped while reading some xD
-loved how they both were celibate for really good reasons
-again LOVED FREAKING VLAD! *-*
-truly hard past,jeez
-slow burn

I liked their story, it was truly sad, mostly the past.

It broke my heart what Marcello had to do most of the times.

Liked them together, and it was a slow burn ..while i liked that at the same time...i thought that something was missing, i needed more connection from them in the present...

After reading Bianca's and Adrian's where they were so OTT fully crazy in love etc, i felt that was missing in this one. It was there but not deep enough (only past wise from Marcello)and it leaked a present connection since he was so sketchy, and it left a bad taste in my mouth that he knew all along what happened to her and he didn't tell her..

Also i wished the ending was not that rushed!!!! i wanted and needed a few chapters when they get together again and i needed a confrontation with him and Claudia ASAP... like, i was so curious you know? i needed more POV's from Marcello, i missed the one's when he find Catalina again, when he find Claudia...etc.

I did love the story, but sometimes i felt like it had a flatness to it in some points.

This was definitely a difficult read......i was scandalized, grossed-out and even disgusted at times. But something about this series is addictive.....i want to know more & read more about this mentally unstable (certifiably insane) characters more.
Let's see what Enzo has to offer!!

Read this book in one sitting... This shit was trash but hella interesting somehow. (?!?!?!?)

I have no idea what rating to give this book to be very honest with you guys. (update: 2 stars)

Was it bad? YES. Was it fucked? HELL YEAH. Did I somehow enjoy it? Yes. (the MMC had a good-ass excuse as to why he did what he did and I respect him for his choice although the whole book was utterly fucked.)

Do I recommend this book? No, you would never catch me talking about it at all because now I know why it was banned and deleted from all platforms and Amazon. This is a Wattpad book gone wrong, and the author had gone wild writing this.

Too much rape and attempted rape was going on which I did not like at all. I saw the Plot-Twist from a mile away, so it did not blow me away. Talk about fucked up characters, shitty timeline, and shitty pace. What makes me mad is that I low-key enjoyed reading this book even though I hate everything about it. The problem was solved rather quickly and to sum things up, both of them were fucked up mentally and physically by their own families/parents and there was a lot of "trauma".
