A short and sweet second-chance romance with a bachelor auction included? Sounds fun - yes, please.

The author mentioned this series in the back of the book I read before this one. I saw it was a short one, I knew I liked her writing, and I decided to give it a try. And I’m glad I did!

Grant left town over a decade ago and left Eliza without an explanation, and also with a broken heart. Now he’s back and he’s up for bid. And Eliza just couldn’t help herself - even though she’s still a little bitter all these years later, she needs answers. She’s going to be the highest bidder. Plus the money she uses will go toward a good cause.

Grant does his best at groveling and tries to win her heart back. I enjoyed watching the fire between these two spark back up.

I enjoyed this quick and easy read and I’m ready for another one of Mama Mae’s boys!

Surreal!
She is doormat
He is a coward
Such kind of pain… You can feel like H literally broke her life !
He is one of the worst heroes ever!!! She is one of the worst heroines ever…
After 12 years since H walked away like a ghost, that same night, she let him fuck her… of course, H has a condom on his wallet… sooooo romantic!
I’ve read this after Romeo team’s book from this author… never again, bye!

Second chance at love. Grant left town without warning and Eliza was devastated. Now twelve years later he’s back and Eliza wants answers. This was a story with many emotions. From the start it draws you in to find out the answers of what happened all those years ago. Eliza has done her best to forget Grant but as much as he hurt her, she knows she still loves him. Grant knows he let Eliza down and now he has to convince her nothing else matters but her. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

2/5 🌟

This story just wasn't my thing honestly. I didn't really vibe with it. I normally know what to expect from shorter stories but this one just didn't have a good development and everything about it was meh.

He left her unexpectedly for years and decided to come back. Then he apologizes said he made the worst mistake and DOES IT AGAIN after he gets into her pants.

Then she forgives him and happily ever after. The cutest part about it was the epilogue and at that it was hard to enjoy.

He could've just communicated with her in both situations like an adult but we can't do that.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read.

Grant and Eliza meet in high school and dated, until graduation. He left and didn’t look back. He thought he need more to prove himself. Twelve years later he’s back in Broken Bend Texas for Mama Mae’s retirement. Eliza never let Broken Bend, she is now going to take over for Mama Mae’s Pups for Progress. As assistant director she is overseeing all the activities. Grant’s brother Owen picked him up from the airport and tells him he’s in the bachelor auction. When he walks into the gym she can’t believe he’s back. She leaves the gym and he follows her. She tells him to go away and he tells her they need to talk. He tells her he owes her an explanation. He wants to meet for coffee but she tells him she doesn’t want his explanation anymore. When Grant takes the stage as the next bachelor, something comes over her and she bids five thousand dollars on him. No one outbids her. When she meets him backstage she tells him she doesn’t want the date she just wants him to tell her why he left, why he never reached out, why he never came back. He asks her if they can go someplace and talk. She tells him to meet her when everything is done. They head to their spot and head to the river. He tells her he owes her an apology. It was her dream to go to UT. He wanted more, she asks him why he didn’t tell her. There was a darkness inside of him. He had to go to NY to find his dad and ruin him. He found him and tore him apart but that wasn’t enough. He grabbed her and kissed her. He started to realize a peace he hadn’t felt in twelve years he should have never left her go. She tells him she’s thought about him everyday she tried to forget and move on. She tells him she should hate him but she doesn’t she loves him. He tells her he’d do anything to have her back. They begin to kiss and strip each other clothes. She tells him she wants him now and doesn’t want to wait. He pulls her on to his lap and she lowers herself onto him. They both come, their release crashing into them. He tells her he loves her he always loved her. She drops him off at Mama Mae’s and agree to meet up later. He tells her to go and and get some sleep. She wakes to a text message from him he needed to go back to NY he’ll call when he can. She can’t believe he once again left her. He tries to call her for two days, sends her flowers and send cards. He figured out a way to work remotely. Then heads back to Broken Bend. He arrives at her home and knocks. She tells him to go away. He tells her he can explain but she tells him she’s tired of his explanation. He tells her he walked away from his business he’s selling his penthouse. She unlocks the door and lets him in. He follows her to the kitchen. He sees her eyes are red. He explains why he had to go back, then gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him. She asks him if he’s crazy and he tells her about her. She tells him to prove it. She tells him to spend a year providing it and ask her again in a year. One year later he shows up for their one year anniversary date. He takes her back to the river. He pulls out the blue ring box and hands it to her. She opens it and finds a key. He tells her he bought the riverfront and the twenty acres around it. It's were he want to build their home. He tells her there is something else in the box. He goes down on one knee and asks her to marry him. She tells him hell yes.

Getting ready for Momma Mae retirement party, Eliza is excited to take over for her. Eliza finds out that all of Mae's boys are coming and that includes Grant. He broke my heart twelve years ago. Just left after graduation with no good byes or anthing. It was the hardest thing she's ever had to deal with.
Grant is back in town for the retirement party and to see all his brothers. Momma Mae is their foster mom but they all love her and each other. One of Grants brother out him the auction to raise money for the shelter. Each guy was acted off but when it came Grants turn, the ladies were bidding and Eliza wasn't going to let have him but her. She bid five thousand dollars for him.
Grant was thrilled it was Eliza but he didn't want her to spend that much money especially knowing she didn't have it. They got to have their date but actually they spent it reminiscing about their past. Grant promised Eliza that he will always be there for her and she was glad to get her Grant back.
The next day though he leaves Eliza to go back to work. Disappointed in him, she's upset but when comes back he explained everything and how he is back to be with her for good. Nothing could make her happier except the day he proposed to her.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance in a new series. In this book, Grant returns home for his foster mom's retirement and is roped into a charity auction. Eliza was Grant's high school sweetheart and they were going to go to college together, but Grant left and never returned without an explanation. Now Eliza is set to take over for Grant's foster mom and when she learns Grant is actually home again, she wants answers. Grant sees Eliza again and realizes he made a mistake in leaving her and wants a chance to explain himself. I liked this quick read. I like Grant and Eliza together. I think Grant really regretted his actions. I like that Eliza wanted Grant to talk to her and explain himself. I think they both still loved the other and i think they were meant to be.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Grant is the first book in the ‘’one night with a billionaire’’ series.
This story is short, fast paced and an entertaining read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Grant is a successful businessman that hasn’t visited his old home in years. When his brother pressures him to visit, he doesn’t expect to reconnect with the girl he loved and left. Eliza hates Grant for breaking her heart and leaving but will she give him a second chance?
The chemistry between Grant and Eliza is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I look forward to more books from this series.

Another brilliant series by Eve London that I have the privilege of reading to give my honest review.

Dissilusionment caused by the thought of revenge on his father, leads Grant to leave his foster family and first love Eliza behind in Broken Bend, Texas for a life in New York.

Now as a successful businessman he is back twelve years later in Broken Bend, Texas for his foster mother's retirement party and to hopefully make amends with Eliza.

All the old unresolved feelings are still there between them and when Eliza wins a date with Grant she Hope's to get closure on why he left after all the plans they made for their future together....

A short steamy smexy second chance love story that shows us how important forgiveness and trust is, to build new foundations for a lasting love.

I like this author’s writing and I get that we all have our personal demons but the male lead in this story, Grant, irritated me. I didn’t appreciate that he’d left the female lead, Eliza, with no explanation and never come back and apologised. It just rubbed. And, whilst she made him work for forgiveness and to feel secure in his future intentions, a lot of that was off the page.

This short story was dual POV, well written and edited, and introduced a new set of characters who are intriguing in a town that is interesting. Whilst this storyline/character didn’t do a lot for me, I’m curious to see where the author takes the series.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Winning the Prize . . .

Eliza Robbins has had a broken heart for the past 12 years since Grant Davis suddenly walked out on her without a word. Now Momma Mae is celebrating her retirement with a party and all her boys are coming home to Broken Bend, Texas, to be with her, including Grant.

Grant’s brother makes him step up for an auction for a date as part of the fundraiser, and Eliza wants an explanation for the past. So she puts in the winning bid to get to talk to him. Will she get her answer? Will she forgive him for his foolishness and letting it go for so long? Will this be their second chance for happiness, or is it too late for that now?

A second chance romance when Grant comes home to see family, little does he know but , the woman he left behind still wants answers. Can Eliza get the closure she wants or will this one night open up her heart again to the only man she ever let in. A heartfelt read and great beginning to this new series of bunch of foster brothers who have all grown up.

When Grant heads home to see family in Broken Bend, Texas he never imagined running into the woman he left behind twelve years before. Eliza is finally going to get an explanation for what happened years ago. This is a second chance love story between two people who belong together. The writing is well done and the characters are believable. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Eliza and Grant were sweethearts, they always talked about the future, or her future. After graduation, Grant left with his own goal in mine. Now twelve years later, Grant is back and Eliza maybe ready for the answers.

Grant is fast read that deals with the pain of the past, and the possibilities of a future. As Grant and Eliza reunite and realize that they heat and passion never really left.

Loved this book

I kind of read this series of stories backwards. I regards Owen first, liked it so much I had to read Grant. Eliza and Grant fell in love while in school. He could not come to terms with what his father did to him it left him with a burning desire to ruin him. He left as soon as he graduated and left her behind. Twelve years later he returns for a retirement party for his mother. You know how it goes from here....not. Read this book it's sooo good. :)

The Ending Saves the Story

Grant comes back for one-night to the small town he left in his dust… blah, blah, ex, blah blah, auction, blah blah rekindled romance until he screws up.

It’s Eliza, at the end, who saves the story. She is no pushover, and she makes Grant step up to his pretty words and check his values in order to get a second chance with her. she knows her value and flexes her inner power, and that’s what saves the story from being trite and one-note.

The couple: Grant and Eliza

Romance trope: second chance
Series: One Night
Length: 48 pages

Plot: Grant and Eliza were a sure thing back in high school, but he left her without a word, feeling the need to seek a life beyond his small hometown. For twelve years she's been pining for him, never getting over him and the love they shared. Now he's back to visit his family, and she's determined to get the answers she needs.

Commentary: I feel like there was never really a good explanation for why Grant left and not a good grovel either. Eliza deserved more than she got in both respects.
Twelve long years of wondering what I’d done wrong faded into the background. The whole time I thought I’d chased his demons away, he’d been battling them in secret.

His "demons" were pretty much normal everyday fears and insecurities - problems that almost every single person ever suffers from. There was nothing, in my opinion, that necessitated him ditching Eliza the way he did.

Next book in the series: Owen: One night with a Cowboy

This Billionaire love story is for Grant and Eliza. This is a second chance love story. I hurt for Grant and how hurt he is. I also just wanted to hold both of these characters for all the hurts and time lost for them. I loved that these two make each other whole.

Good short story. Grant and Eliza were a couple back in high school unless he left suddenly. Twelve years later, he’s back for his foster mom’s retirement party/fund raiser. He’s on the auction block and Eliza couldn’t resist bidding on him to find out what happen all those years ago.

Grant abandoned Eliza right after high school without an explanation. Twelve years later he comes back home & he finally gives her an explanation of why he left.

This is a very short story. There aren’t a lot of details in it, but it’s less than 50 pages (the number of pages was not written in the description before I got the book, but by the time I read it, it had been added).

Absolutely loved the newest book in the One Night series. Grant is hellbent on pursuing his dreams and making money. As one of Mama Mae's boys he heads home for her retirement fundraiser. Eliza has had feelings for Grant but he immediately left when they were young, and she makes him see life has more to offer. Im such a huge fan of every book Eve writes.

With this rock

This was an adorable second chance romance, the fact that it included a billionaire, a date auction for a good cause and a sassy stubborn FMC was the icing on the cake.

My first book by Eve but not my last, I'll be back for more!
