The Seven Senses

Looking For You

Rate this book
Everyone wants to be an artist. Everyone but administrator Gwendolyn Gibson. She works in the art department of a small college, where she’s surrounded by artists who are flakes, artists who are irresponsible, and artists who are…gorgeous?

When photographer Shane Duval walks into her office and promptly takes a picture of her backside as she bends over a file cabinet, Gwendolyn is not impressed. But he’s the artist-in-residence, and she’s stuck with him for the semester. The students might be inspired by his sophistication and talent, but Gwendolyn knows better than to get involved with an artist, no matter how charming he is.

Shane isn’t happy with the situation either, but at least it’s temporary. He only needs to lay low in Ohio for a few months until trouble from his life in New York blows over. But there is something about Gwendolyn’s competence, her creativity, and her curves that Shane finds irresistible.

Falling in love is a complication neither of them needs. But when Midwest practicality meets New York ambition, the results are something neither of them could see coming.

Looking for You is the third in the Seven Senses romance series by Jordan Bloom. All the books are stand-alone reads, each with its own hero and heroine. Set in a Midwest college town, the books feature solid friendships, fascinating men, and compelling love stories guaranteed to set your heart aglow.

I really like this series. During each book you get the feeling that you are truly a part of the story. It felt like you were also walking along the river, watching some art, eating delicious food … The love story was hateful in the beginning but developed throughout the story into something special. Shane and Gwendolyn make each other complete. The only thing I missed was some more insights on how the exhibit went and some kind of epilogue.
But I’m really excited to read the next one.

He is an artist, a photographer, working a semester at CU. She is a very driven worker at the art department in CU. He is gorgeous. She is curvy. But opposites attract, right? Can they fight the chemistry between them or will they fall for each other been at risk of hurting themselves? A beautiful story about self esteem, pursuing your dreams and true love.

Gwendolyn & Shane
*
Life is a photograph with a double exposure.
*
Gwendolyn works at the university where Shane is the chosen artist-in-residence for the semester. She wanted someone else to be chosen this year and got him instead. So now she is determined to stay away from him and make him someone else's problem. She hides the artist within her and does art for her eyes only.
Shane is a photographer that only wears black, kisses with his eyes open, owns a cat called Diane and goes through life visually. After a fallout with his manager in New York he comes to Ohio as the chosen artist where he meets a curvy goddess.
The book is a great interpretation of one of the seven senses. There are many cute and steamy moments between the main characters. It's definitely a lovely weekend read with great humour. The author catches hurt so well! I had a knot in my throat for a full chapter waiting for the tears to spill. HEA <3

This was such a breath of fresh air! It’s my first time reading a romance that hit so close to home.

Looking For You by Jordan Bloom is the third book in The Seven Senses Series and oh my goddess, it was fantastic! I got pulled in with the first two chapters! This romance is the story of an administrator named Gwendolyn who really wants to have this up and coming artist named Paris Po join the art department this coming semester. But her dean has other plans and brings in a photographer named Shane who takes stunning nude photos, those of which Gwen doesn't really approve of. Now, she has to spend the rest of the term avoiding him. Good luck.

Jordan was able to bring such life to these amazing characters! Seeing Gwendolyn’s perspective and then shifting to Shane was seamless. I appreciate that this story fully expressed both sides’ lives. There’s been so many times that I’ve read a book and the focus was mostly on the female lead rather than both. I could feel both the leads' stories and both arcs equally.

There was a great balance of themes throughout the story. From misogyny to beauty standards and even the stealing of others' work. They all seamlessly flew together and made it that much more enjoyable. They were built into the conflict as well as being in the background. It hit all of the points and still wasn’t too in your face. Great job!

It was steamy when it needed to be and filled with love and compassion with those hints of uncertainty. Jordan wrote this so meticulously that it felt natural, like I was part of the story. Psst, can I have a Shane, too? Haha

My only issue was that the ending felt a tiny bit too rushed and kind of on a cliffhanger, which could easily leave it open for more later. If there was an epilogue or maybe a few more pages to close things out a little more, it’d be even better. With that being said, I know there will be more to this story in the next book, so I’m definitely looking forward to reading The Taste of Dreams!

I’d highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience a love story with a voluptuous and empowering female lead character.

I think this might be my favourite “Seven Senses” book so far!

This time we dive into sight and get to know Gwendolyn, artist turned college administrator, and Shane, photographer now artist-in-resident. Of course they are going to fall in love, they just do not know it yet.

They get off in the wrong foot and have very different opinions about everything, but still need to work together to make things work.

And boy do they make things work.
I found all the disagreements, careful truce, tentative relationship, and budding romance very real and easy to follow, and I was very much rooting for the two of them.

Shoutout to Minnie, I need her in my life to organise all the things.

The subplot with student Rio was fair – the imbalance of teacher and student relationships was well covered – but I was not impressed at all now Shane
That was not a critique, that was a put down. He was right, yes, but he is her teacher and should not have acted out of emotion. (Yes for the story I get it because it was his lightbulb omg-I-am-in-love-moment.)

The whole part of Gwendolyn having her walls up was something I kind of missed in the story. To me she acted perfectly normal so I wonder what that says about the height of my walls..! ;)

It was great fun to see the main characters of the other books pop in / get introduced, that is a really lovely part of this series.

I received an ARC of this book (thanks!) and these are my own opinions.

I have been enjoying reading 'The Seven Senses' series and this is my 3 book to read. I love the banter between the characters and always look forward to the next book. Shane Duval is a photographer who was looking for somewhere to go after some decisions had him leave New York for awhile. Gwendolyn Gibson, is the administrator at the small collage where Shane Duval was brought in to be the artist-in-residence for this years semester. These 2 get off on the wrong foot from the moment Shane walks in and takes a picture of Gwendolyn's behind. Throughout the story we see Shane try to break through some of the walls Gwendolyn has hidden behind for most of her adult life while she is keeping Shane at arms length from her. I like Shane's character. He seems easy going and the kind of fun person to be around. Gwendolyn on the other hand is a stuck up b***h who really needs to take the stick out of her behind and stop looking at people as being beneath her. She is really not a very likable character throughout most of the story and I'm still not sure if she deserves any of Shane. She definitely was a character you can dislike. I would have liked to see some epilogue of the 2 after the story ended to see how they were working out together but I can image. He did finally win her heart after all.

Shane and Gwendolyn are both temperamental artists to a certain extent. She's more of an art critic who has been burned by others too many times to show any of her work and has self-esteem issues about her weight. She dresses stylishly with plenty of color, but she's had too many men say they like her except for her size. She needs to rock her attractions and Shane wants to help her do that. But he's only supposed to be in her life temporarily and he wasn't even the visiting artist she wanted. Shane was just looking for a place to find himself again after his agent dropped him and ruined his career for having integrity. I loved that he teaches his students about living in the real world as an artist. I wish more college classes were like that. I loved his funny cat Diane. I was surprised that Gwendolyn would want an academic job but not want to work with the students. Her intern Minnie was a riot and great her job. I'm sure Gwendolyn wishes she could keep her.

This is a story of a woman who put up walls so high up she has forgotten who she really is. Gwen is an administrator at Cannondale Uni who wants a female to fill in the artist residence for the semester, but when the Dean choses Shane she turns her anger and disappointment out on him. Shane is an amazing, talented, real passionate photographer who takes a position for a semester needing to get away from NYC. Gwen can't admit how Shane sees her for who she really is, and beyond her walls it would mean heartache and she isn't prepared for that. Shane is making it his mission to get through Gwen's sturdy wall and show her what she refuses to admit. This book will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, of passion and determination and will leave you begging for more. I loved the instant chemistry, passion and love of art It's a must read.

Shane and Gwendolyn . . .

Gwendolyn Gibson is administrator at an art department in a small college. She had someone in mind to join the art department, but the dean brought in photographer Shane Duval as artist-in-residence, and she is not happy with the choice. He does not impress her and he has an arrogant attitude that needs adjusting.

However, they eventually get more comfortable with each other and some interest starts sparking. Shane is only here briefly until things in New York settle down. But he already admires Gwendolyn. Neither wanted to start a relationship, but sometimes it just gets away from you.

I enjoyed this romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Gwendolyn and Shane.

Gwendolyn is a administrator for a small college. The college is looking to find a artist to come in to teach. But when her boss decided to have a photographer in instead of the person that she want she not to happy.

Shane is a photographer. He has been ask by a college to come in to teach photograph. He surprised when he meet the administrator.

This was a fun story to read. It has action and drama throughout. It had a few giggles within.

A great read, the latest in this series.

Gwendolyn meets Shane when he is chosen as their artist in residence. He is the artist she didn't want and is now stuck with him. They don't get off to the best of starts, but once they get to know each other everything changes - until he messes up!

I liked how it is told from both points of view and we also get to see characters from the previous books in this series too.

Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Delightfully cute book and I liked the romance's slow(ish) development. The thing I liked about this book and the previous book in this series was that there was a clear love and passion for whatever the story's focus. In this one, it was art and photography, and though I have no clue about the topics, it sounds like Bloom knows what she's talking about. There's an obvious passion for the subject, and not just in the characters.

thank you HiddenGems for the free ARC

Wonderful characters that you can follow along on this romantic story. There is some humor and some drama with any good romance. Love the interaction and banter between the characters. It's always fun to read a book where romance has some difficulties and some easy parts. Good read.

A slow-burn opposite attracts light read. Gwendolyn is an administrator at a college and Shane is a photographer trying to lay low after imploding in the art scene of New York.

This is my third book that I read in the The Seven Senses series. This book was also a wonderfully written love story that makes you giggle, but also makes you think. I really liked the two characters Shane and Gwendolyn and how they interacted with each other. I can only recommend this series to everyone.

I liked this story and the characters. Since Gwendolyn is so disparaging of Shane's work at first (particularly the subjects he's known for), it would've been nice to see them have a conversation about it.

This book is written from a unique perspective…the female lead hates the male lead character! It’s one battle after another. And they are not nice to each other! But the more I read, the better the book became. It ended up truly awesome!

The storyline is a little tricky; the characters pretty darn good; the plot twists and turns are kind of out there; and the HEA? Damn! It was so good. I needed tissues because this book was one helluva roller coaster ride!

Grab a copy today and let your take wing. This book was really a good read! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and loved it!) ❤️❤️

It was nice to have “real” characters with jobs and normal everyday issues. The author approached the plot with humour and the characters wit and humour came across in their interactions. Going to seek out the other books in the series now…..
