I’m target number one for the bullies on the football team.
I wrote an article in the school paper daring to say that some of the athletic funds should be spread around instead of every dollar going to them.
But this is Texas.
And this town is football Mecca.
I should have known better.
They’ve been making my life a living hell.
Teasing me, calling me names, spray-painting my locker.
I need protection.
I need a beast.
So, that’s exactly what I get.
Elijah ‘The Beast’ Stoll.
Former football player, former school god, Jacksland town legend.
He’s my cousin’s best friend and it’s time to pull in a favour.
Maybe if he picks me up after school and I’m seen with him, they’ll lay off me a bit.
It’s a pretty good plan.
But what I don’t take into account is how protective the beast is.
And how utterly obsessed he becomes with me.
The football team is screwed.
And if I’m lucky, I will be too.
In the good way of course ;)
The Beast is one possessive alpha who’s ready to protect his girl from the school bullies no matter what it takes. Mess with his girl at your own risk. Just make sure you have health insurance first.
Insta-love at its finest in a SAFE read with no cheating and a super sweet HEA guaranteed.
Olivia T. Turner. Look at those initials baby! I was born to write OTT!
I love Over The Top alpha males who are possessive and completely obsessed with their women. These dark powerful men take what they want!
If you like your book boyfriends sweet and cuddly than shut the computer off and walk away. If you like your heroes, rough, dirty and possessive to the extreme, come on in and have some fun…
Always 'safe' with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA.
What do you do when you’re getting bullied at school? Well, you ask your ex-football star cousin for help… until you go to his place and find his hot asf huge/bulky friend instead… the one you’ve thought about over the years 👀😅.
Ali (18) has been getting bullied because she, as a gymnast whose noticed how disproportionate funding is distributed to non-football programs at her school, wrote a letter that ended up getting published about the inequality and unfairness of how monies as spent- specifically, football 😬. So what happens? The football team starts bullying her- and it becomes a school trend😏.
Elijah (mid/late 20s?) sees Ali, all grown up now, and wants her. She barely says a few words and he’s there, willing to do anything for her (giving me JK vibes). He’s gonna protect her and make sure NO ONE treats her badly… and it’ll start with teaching these football bullies a lesson 😈💅.
Oh man. Those scenes were FUN 💁🏻♀️.
And their chemistry 👀. Ali’s had a crush on Elijah for years, but she was underage. He’s seen her but never noticed her in that way. Now that she’s legal, all bets are off… and so are their clothes 😉.
The smexxy times, the tension, all 🔥. Elijah has a diiiiirty mouth… and he knows how to use it 😉. The way that man wants everything to do with her 🍒 is downright sinful 🥵. He’s all about pleasing her💦 and claiming her 💁🏻♀️.
I wish it was longer! I wouldn’t have minded getting more history on Elijah too. Overall, I really enjoyed it

One tiny mistake on her part has Ali number one enemy to the football team when she wrote how unfair the school was about money and sports. So she's harassed all day by the team and the principal turns the blind eye because well football stars. She's annoyed and only 3 months left of school she goes to her older cousin who is an ex poplar football star. But meets the Beast Elijah who she tells her problems to Elijah and he agrees since he is already sprung for her. No one is touching his girl and he'll make sure everyone knows this isn't fake for him. And boy he does show them football players taking down the bullys. Beside that it was a super short book.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, Drama, sexy times , virgin and no manwhore

3.5 stars. Sweet, cute, sexy, and short. Exactly what I come to this author for. A little bit ridiculous too, but that honestly just comes with the insta-love trope.
It was hot. Elijah is possessive, protective, obsessive and totally 100%, all in for his girl.
Zero drama, plenty of smut, simple plot. The perfect type of novella to reset my head between bigger books.
I missed reading mindless smutty novellas. The books I've picked up lately really aren't that smutty and I'm y dying from the abstinence.
Anyhow, quick summary. Girl got bullied, girl met possessive guy, girl told him what happened, he kicked the bullies' asses and they have an amazing banging session.
I definitely was expecting more from this story. I love an OTT protective alpha so that won major points for me. It can’t be counted as safe because he knew her in the past and it’s not clear if he was with others through that time. I was disappointed that it wasn’t mentioned to be honest.
-no cheating -no ow/om drama -uncertain if safe because it’s not clear if he was with others after knowing her -no violence of a sexual nature -virgin heroine/ not clear about hero but definitely don’t get the vibe that he is a virgin or celibate -epilogue 4 months and 25 years later
okay??? I’ve never wanted something to be more full length until now. I took this book out on a whim cause it looked spicy and dude it was, like hellaaaaa hot. But also the premise of this was so sweet and I desperately wanted more, if the author ever comes back and writes a full length 200+ book on this with more scenes I would read.
OTT Protective possessive H/ bullied h/ quick/ steamy/ insta
-OTT protective possessive H… -sweet h whose bullied at school -steamy -v card h -quick.. so a lot of this story is ridiculous lol I think the whole book takes place in 2 days maybe 3 lol. -insta everything
3.5 Stars Ali wrote a smart school paper about how the schools funds should be equally distributed. Other sports teams are suffering with their outdated supplies and Ali recommends that the funds shouldn’t all go to the football team. A local newspaper picks up the story and Ali becomes public enemy number 1 with the community and the football team at school. Going to her cousin for help, she runs into Elijah instead, the successful, jacked up football celebrity of his day. Ali used to crush on Elijah, watching her cousin play football so she could see Elijah block his way through the opposing team. She can tell in his eyes, and his words, that he’s game to help her with her bully situation at school.
“Let me help you, Allie,” he says with a sexy desperation in his tone. “Let me take care of you. I can fulfill your every need. I want to.“
Elijah is absolutely obsessed with Ali, and immediately wants to keep her forever. He’s a little worried about how her cousin Collin will react, but that doesn’t stop him from taking what he wants.
This was a short, smutty, sports romance. Elijah is great at being obsessed with his heroine and making sure her every need is taken care of, even after the bullies are handled, which doesn’t take long. Ali has always wanted her hero and she’s willing to do whatever her heart desires in order to enjoy her time with him. We’re left with these two falling in instalove and helping Collin & Ali’s moms mend their relationship. Cute story!

The only reason why this wasn't a DNF was because it was only 81 pages long. It really wasn't to my taste.
I didn't buy either Elijah or Ali as characters. In general, the characters seemed quite cardboard, without much depth behind them. Elijah is the possessive and over-the-top alpha, Ali is bullied and excited to be with her childhood crush. I wish there was more to their characters than just those phrases.
It's possible to have an instant romance and a decent plot, but I feel like this novella only delivered on the former. I know there's only so much an author can do in 81 pages but I thought Turner could've done at least a little more than what was in the book.
It was quite satisfying to see Elijah deal with Ali's bullies and the steam was hot. However, those two factors weren't enough to redeem the issues I had with the character and plot.
Faster and furiouser! This was cute but everything moves so fat but its a Olivia t turner book so o knew it would be the case. He gets back at the kids who are bullying her at school. And then he wants to breed her. Okur

STORY: WHAT I LIKED: This was cute and likable. You have an insta obsessive guy, Elijah and the naive not so sure teenage girl, Ali. She wasn’t all the way naive. I like the storyline that brought them together, it’s why I like it. It a sweet, nice and light read.
WHAT WAS SO SO: I am one for obsessive and possessive men/boys, but Elijah, after a milli sec surpassed obsessive and possessive. I fully understand this is an insta read, but I wish his possessiveness was gradual. It hit me so fast, I didn’t know how to process it.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY Chemistry wasn’t bad it was ok. It was likable but ok for me.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: No one stood out, it was mainly the two characters.

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
Another delicious read by Olivia T. Turner. We get a possessive sexy MMC, a blushing shy FMC, super sexy times and I couldn’t ask for more.
Ali’s having trouble at school and what better way to get that trouble to stop than having a big, strong former football player show up and escort you from school? Seems like a solid plan. Especially after Elijah takes one look at Ali and knows she is the one for him. Their chemistry is instant and super hot. All the growly possessiveness is just delicious. I also really liked Elijah putting Ali’s tormentors in their place.
Another quick and sexy read that’s a win for me.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
“I inhale deeply, trying to get a whiff of her warm virgin cunt”
so excited for someone to get a whiff of my warm virgin freshly eighteen cunt!!
BEWARE THIS SMELL IS HAZARDOUS….
men are trying to convince us they can smell virgins… uh no… im not buying this…
“plunging my ravenous tongue into her tight little hole. It’s virgin sweet and dripping with warm honey.”
There’s too much of an emphasis on her virginity and that she’s freshly eighteen… you could still have possessive fuckboy alpha male who “will kill everyone who looks her way” without her being a virgin and freshly eighteen.
it grosses me out… “With a growl, I dive in and lick her cunt with my flat tongue, getting all of it with one, slow, delicious lick”
Ali has had it with school. With three months left and still the bullying continues because she dared ask for new items for the other sports teams and reduce the funding for the football team. A planned has formed but she needs her cousin, whom she hasn't seen in a while. But she encounters Elija instead, his best friend. I enjoyed this book. I liked the story and the characters. Who doesn't enjoy a hot steamy book once in a while.
Ali gets bullied at school after writing a not so nice piece about the highschools football team. Now she needs help from her cousin Collin. But it's not Collin that opens the door.... It's Elijah a former golden boy and football star. She always had a crush on him and now as they meet again as adults sparks fly😉 Elijah is instantly obsessed and protective of Ali and boy is he making the bullies pay 🤣 Instalove, sweet, romantic, steamy🥵 and totally safe(for me it was Double virgins 😉) with a great HEA and no drama 😍😍😍😍
There is nothing about this quickie that I enjoyed. And I knew the moment I started that I wouldn’t like this story.
The story felt gross, predatory, awkward, weird, disjointed.
I think I’ve attempted this author’s writing before and hated it…
I’m frustrated with myself, I shouldn’t have pushed through it, I should have moved away and found something else. But, I wanted to finish this book because the tropes that were here were what I was seeking and now I just feel icky.
Definitely a steamy enjoyable read. However, it just didn't hit the mark for me.
Due to the fact its a novella their romance had to move super fast and I found myself wishing for a little more build up in the relationship. And there was just a few things I felt a little nah on for my taste.
My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.
Ali is being relentlessly bullied at school by the football team. Getting hurt why attempting a backflip she notes the poor condition of the equipment for gymnastics and other school sports. While the football team has all new state of the art equipment so she rights an article for the school paper asking for fair distribution of funds. The players don’t like that and the school does nothing to help her against the harassment. Thinking her older cousin, Collin who was once the school’s quarterback could pick her up from school a few times would earn her a reprieve from the bullies. Her mom and aunt had a falling out so she hasn’t seen her cousin in a few years but hopes he will help her. When she arrives at what she hopes is his house she rings the doorbell and is shocked when her school girl crush answers the door. Elijah is best friends with her cousin and the two played together, he was called the Beast in school. He owns the house and the two friends live there together. Elijah is stunned by the beauty he see on his doorstep and knows she is his forever girl. When she asks for Collin he thinks she might be Collin’s girl. She tells him she’s his cousin and turns to leave, Elijah stops her and tells her he remembers her. Collin is out of town on business but he tells her he can help her. With a bit of coaxing she tells him everything, he is pissed and vows to get each and every punk that has bothered his angel. The next day after school he is waiting for her in the student lot. The football players are all excited to see him and he’s ready for them. He starts doling out punishments and things get real when the coach shows up and ask Elijah to come show the players some moves. He uses the practice to really hurt the worst offenders. He gives them a real beat down. Ali is so happy and gets turned on by her man’s beastly display. They have to detour on the drive home for Ali to show her appreciation with a blowjob. The next day the players avoid her and the other students all are super nice to her. After school she asks to go home with Elijah, they have their first time together, she’s a virgin, no mention of his past. When her cousin comes home unexpectedly things get a little awkward until Elijah tells him he loves Ali and she’s his forever. I love you all around. She and Collin get their mom’s to make up and after graduation Ali moves in with Elijah. Epilogue 25 years later with Elijah coaching the high school team and their son playing while she and their daughter watch them win another championship. Love a man who will defend his woman against bullies.

If you are looking for a quick read that is 🔥 with an OTT dominant, protective alpha male, then this could be a story for you.
⛔️ Contains scenes and references to subject matter that may be difficult for sensitive readers. This includes adult language throughout, steamy intimate scenes with dominance, submission, restraints, breath play, etc., and violence such as verbal and physical bullying, threats, etc.
I mention this for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There is at least one grammatical issue with an incorrect word choice or typo. I uploaded my note to goodreads for anyone interested. Otherwise it has a good flow and pace.
I am in awe of how much of a story universe Olivia is able to get into such a short story. I have read a lot of stories that are double, or triple in length that aren’t as developed. Great job!
In this story, Ali is a senior in a Texas high school. She wrote an article suggesting that some of the money dedicated to sports could be shared among all the programs, not just given to the football team. You would have thought she threatened to murder half the town! Now she is constantly harassed, mocked, teased, and bullied. Ali needs some help … she needs her cousin.
Unfortunately Ali hasn’t seen him in a while because her mom and aunt have been fighting for a couple of years, but she decides it is worth a trip to his house. So Ali takes a variety of buses, finally arrives and knocks on the door, but she is still not sure what she is going to say. That is probably for the best since it isn’t her cousin that answers the door. It is the boy, um, man now, that she had the biggest crush on for years.
Elijah, along with Ali’s cousin, were the stars of the high school football team and the main reason they won state championships. They both would have been stars in the NFL if not for a drunk driver. He just finished a workout and is only wearing shorts … heaven above …
To say that Elijah wasn’t expecting it to be his best friend’s little cousin is an understatement. Ali has grown up in the couple of years and is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. His attraction and desire is immediate and overwhelming.
So much so, that Elijah knows right away that she is his … His to love and his to protect. Those that have bullied her are going to find out why he is called Beast.
Ali has been getting bullied at school by the football players, popular kids, and well mostly everyone, because of an article she wrote for the school newspaper.
She has a plan to stop it. Her cousin Corey is a few years older than her and was a big football star at their school. So she wants to ask him to pick her up from school a few times to hopefully help some of the teasing to stop when they see her associating with him.
But when she goes to his house, it's not Corey that's home, it's his best friend and long-time crush, Elijah -- aka the Beast. He was also a big football star at the school. So when they hit it off, he offers to help her out.
Protective Beast has been on my TBR for a long while and I kept passing it over because it seemed very cutesy and fluffy. I'm not always in the mood for that, but sometimes I am -- like right now after I've just finished a few very dark books and need something light and sweet to balance it out.
This was definitely light and fluffy. But it also was a little too cheesy for me.
I didn't hate it, but the cheese was a little much. And the insta-love was a little hard to believe. This guy is like talking babies and marriage the day after they meet. No guys get that serious that fast, and if they do it's kind of creepy.
I also found it very awkward that she referred to him as "Beast" instead of his name. It might be a good nickname for him as a football player, but it's not a very cute nickname for a girlfriend to call her boyfriend.
There were some things I liked. The steam was decently hot and they were rather cute together. I liked his dominance and that he's this big buff guy with a soft spot for only her.
But overall it was just very cheesy and too short to build anything up. I'm not sure if I'd read more by this author. Maybe if I was in the mood for something quick and light and couldn't find anything else, but I don't know.

I am voluntarily reviewing a reader copy of this book.
Ali committed the cardinal sin when she wrote an article for the high school paper about the amount of money the school pumps into the football team compared to other departments, she has been public enemy number one with a neon pink target on her back. She only has three months left at school and she is ready for them to be over but she knows that the football team will continue making her life miserable so she has one idea that may take the heat off her at least for a little while. Asking her cousin for help is her only option, with him being such a star when he was at high school, she is sure that once they see her with him, they will back off. Only what she finds when she goes to see him isn’t her cousin but his best friends and her still very real crush Elijah. Could he be the one to help her with her problem and is all he doing just for show or is it possible he wants her to be his girl?
Elijah was meant to be winning the Superbowl by now with his best friend Colin but one night changed the course of their lives forever, after they were hit by a drunk driver the careers that they had carved out for themselves were over. But their lives had moved on and was now a personal trainer, there was however something missing, and he had no idea what that was until Ali knocked on his door and knocked the air from his lungs with a shy smile. And once he hears her plight, he knows that he is the man to deal with it and getting to show the world who she belongs too is just a bonus. But when all is said and done will she be the beauty to his Beast?
Loved this book Elijah was the perfect alpha male who was going to show the world that Ali belonged to him and whoever hurt her would know what pain was really like. Ali was super cute with how she behaved around Beast. Highly recommended 4.5* read.
"...He’s even bigger than I remembered. A massive chest, thick muscular arms, legs like freaking tree trunks. But it’s his eyes that really get me. They draw me in and won’t let go. My feet are cemented to the porch as I stand here quivering in front of the boy who was my first love, my first crush, my first obsession." ~Ali
Olivia T. Turner KNOWS how to write over-the-top, insta-love, obsessed/possessive heroes & fiesty/smart heroines. We have a different backdrop to read against for our couple Elijah & Ali - Texas high school football. Ali is a senior in high school (legal age) and Elijah is the older legendary ex-high school football player (best friend of her cousin) that comes to her rescue against bullying. Olivia's version of payback is epic against the bullies. We read about a lot of football terms/actions thrown around throughout the story... AND Ali & Elijah's chemistry is off the charts sizzling! 🥵
“...Is it something I can help you with?” There’s a look in his eyes… almost like he’s in pain right now. It’s like I’m causing it, but I don’t know what I’m doing. “Let me help you, Ali,” he says with a sexy desperation in his tone. “Let me take care of you. I can fulfill your every need. I want to.” ~Elijah
To have that single-drive intensity focused on you would be amazing! Olivia writes it in the best way possible! 😊🌴🌺 I received an ARC for my honest review.
I read a lot of mountain man romances by Olivia T. Turner. This premise was something I wanted to read/listen to as soon as I read it. I liked the concept of the story. I don't know how seriously it was meant to be taken, but it definitely was over-the-top and made me laugh at times.
Ali noticed that all the funding was going towards the football team, and everyone else's equipment was worn and desintegrating. She submitted an article in the school paper suggesting the funds be allocated more fairly and now the football team is harassing her and making her miserable. She goes to her cousin for help and finds his friend instead, whom she's had a cruch on. Elijah takes one look at her, decides she's his and he's obsessed, and is immediately willing to hunt down and take out the whole team. He agrees to pick her up from school and be seen together where the team will see them together and leave her alone out of respect for him as a famous and skilled ex-football player.
It just felt like an over-the-top, macho-man stepping in to save his girl from anyone who even thinks of her in the wrong way. The way he was taking the guys down was amusing though a bit much. The chemistry between the Ali and Elijah was immediate.
I listened to this audiobook narrated by Vivienne LaRue and Noel Harrison. Noel has a wonderful, deep voice and suited the Beast perfectly. Vivienne was a good match for Ali.
Story: Ali (h) is a high school student who is being bullied by the football team after writing a newspaper article critical of the funding the team receives in relation to other school sports. In a town where football is king, Ali finds herself seeking help from her cousin, but instead encounters Elijah/Beast (H), a celebrated former outside linebacker. It's instant attraction between the two and Elijah is more than willing to go on the offense in beast mode and take down Ali's bullies. Elijah is her strong overprotective love who'll do whatever it takes to make those responsible pay for the hurt they've previously brought down on her. Very hot, intense sexy relationship between Ali and Elijah with a satisfying HEA in this fun quickie!
Audio: The narrators did a good job with this story. The audiobook uses two narrators, a male narrator, and a female narrator, depending on whose POV the story is being told from - I would have preferred that any dialogue coming from Elijah or Ali, regardless of whose POV, would have been voiced by the male/female as appropriate as I find males trying to voice females and vice versa to take me out of the story. Noel Harrison does a good job with Elijah, and Vivienne LaRue gave Ali a nice tone that seemed age appropriate and had good emotional inflection.
