Wow. What causes window fogging? Read my review and you will get your answer.

Photobucket

Dear Reid,

After I saw your book title I found myself thinking "Seriously?" Don't shoot me now, ok? I'm going to banish my negative thoughts from my brain. See? Done. Now that we're ready to delve into…no, no, I can see your devilish grin already…I don't want to deal with your dirty mind right now…*cough* What did I want to write down actually? I'm babbling and it's entirely your fault. Reid, you are throwing me off balance. Do you do it on purpose? Okey-dokey, ready, set, go!

Let's face it, I was really glad when you took our insecure heroine under your wing. Can you believe it? Lucy wanted to date Dr. Douchebag. Honestly, why in God's name would she choose such a slimy dude? Lucy was and is beautiful and he didn't even notice your queen of hearts before you put her through a makeover. He doesn't deserve her. I always wonder why certain guys can't see beyond someone's armor and inadequacies. Oh well, if your major features are being shallow, self-centered AND career-driven, then something is entirely wrong with your personality. Hey, back off, Reid! I was talking about Dr. Douchebag. Ah, I get it, you might be woolgathering about your Lucy. Sheesh, get a grip, Reid. To make a long story short…get her!

OMG, Reid, I'm in a puddle at your feet. You have an extraordinary mouth (pun intended). I had this special moment here…

Photobucket

Yes, please, please, eat me too!

Mmm, my inner kitten was moaning. Oh my, I can't believe I'm using the term "inner", it kinda gives me the creeps for a very specific reason. Ah, where was I? Alrighty, I'm back on track again. You sure know how to satisfy your woman. Being touched, kissed, cherished, and loved by you is heaven on earth. Amazingly good. May I line up too? On top of that, your story was loads of fun.

Reid, it's not a secret when I tell you that I love your wit and humor. You're a superb fighter, makeover expert, professional seducer, and artist. Without a doubt a woman doesn't stand a chance against a combination like that. As a matter of fact, your insecure Lucy fell very hard for you. Time to wake up, Romeo! Let's face it, I could feel the chemistry between you and Luce. My oh my, the sparks were flying, and I could witness some super steamy and very hawt moments. Oh Reid, you were spoiling Luce with your scrumptious mouth, mind, and body. It's beyond me but I just adore your skills--in and out of the bedroom. You're a devilishly wicked lover. Fan-freakin-tastic. Having someone like you between the sheets--or anywhere else for that matter--is such a scrumptious experience I wouldn't miss for the life of me! In all honesty, I know all about your sexual prowess, however, what you dished out verbally was so utterly witty and hilarious, I just laughed my pants off. *grin*

"Okay, here comes your boy with our drinks. He'll wait for you to approve the wine. I want you to channel Jessica Rabbit and give him a show."
Her jaw dropped. "You want me to channel a cartoon character from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
Reid's expression actually looked like he couldn't believe her incredulity at his choice in sex goddess. "She's sex on heels. Every dude wants to bang Jessica Rabbit."

I know, dearest Reid, we have to cover the bad part too.

When I was 85 % into the story I had this moment here…

Photobucket

Clue in, Reid, you acted like a certified jerk. Frankly, what the hell were you thinking, huh? You know I really love your mouth, however, this time you didn't do yourself a favor. Wow, what came out of your delectable mouth was…pure…bullshit. Well, excuse my French but I have to be straightforward here. I just feel that I have to give you a piece of my mind, and somehow I think I should straighten you out. Read my lips: you are a coward, Reid! You with me? That said, I always thought you were such a smart and witty guy, but sadly you have really taken leave of your senses. Well, rant over. BTW, this is one of the reasons I couldn't give you a five-star rating. Sorry, but that was such a pathetic move. No…just no.

Another reason was your lovely queen of hearts. Why in God's name would a beautiful woman think so low of herself? I don't get it. It felt a bit too farfetched--just too easy for my liking. That said, I couldn't buy into it either. Furthermore, I will confess that I'd've loved to see you fighting, Reid. Unfortunately, this was not going to happen. While the first half of your story was fantastic, I felt that the last 30 % of your amorous adventure lost a bit of its pace.

Last but not least there's another reason it was "only" a 4-star rating: substance and depth. I just wanted a bit more, you know? Don't get discouraged, though, because I'm pretty sure there are more good stories to come, and I can't wait to read more from your creator.

Now that you have your head on straight, keep your cool, dude. Enjoy seducing your beautiful Cinderella.

Take care.

Baba

P.S. Your jaw just dropped, my dearest Reid. Are we a little bit speechless? Tsk-tsk, shut your mouth, cutie pie, we don't want to catch flies. *grin*

4 Tried and True, Steam Inducing, Feverish Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free-GRAB QUICK, IT'S FREE!!!
As we develop as people, we learn our likes and dislikes. We learn what type of clothing manufacturers work with our bodies. We try on different styles of outfits, take a look, and see if we feel like ourselves in the reflection.

Sometimes we get comfortable with a perception of ourselves but that may not be how others see us.
Where we see a nondescript, just an ok figure, others may see the perfect way everything just goes together.

Where we see ourselves as never being the knockout or attention-getter, others may see the subtle flair which sneaks up on your beauty…. A kind that overtakes any blatant display from others.

And where we see the embarrassing, awkward movements and brain freezes, others may just love the purity of who you are… and the biggest question is.... can we as who we have always seen ourselves, shift and see from another angle, another perspective to see what others may see in us?

This question plays out not from just from Lucie Miller’s experiences but also in a more internal way for Reid Andersen, our couple in Seducing Cinderella.
This had all of the moments we would expect… friends to lovers...revealing the diamond in the rough... and insight to both of their insecurities and fears.

And for me… that was the real beauty of this tale. You actually got a twofer… yup, two people who saw themselves one way and by the end of the tale… both were able to see all that they were through the eyes of the other.

This also had the beauty of comfort for me… because I knew from the start how much I was going to enjoy this book. There is nothing better than when you know what you want… seek out the source of how you can get it… and then have it delivered to you, happily.

The Entangled/ Brazen group has become that “go-to” for me. When I want to feel the excitement of two people connecting, learning that something is percolating, bubbling, and about to surface; when the talk gets intimate, sensuous, and downright dirty…. I know I will be satisfied with this brand.

What I also know is there will be some substance to the journey besides hot, sweaty, wish-fulfillment sex. Because what makes the sex so good… so real and oh, so gratifying is the substance in all of these stories. There is always some type of recognition. Some way the characters accept or understand that loving the person they desire is ok and right. That whatever obstacles they thought were real… they could see their way clear and make the “right” choice in the end and be with the person they loved.

So if you are like me and love to see people come together, have that juice flow and feel how excited they are to just be standing next to each other…. to almost think those words he is whispering in her ear while he is dragging his fingers up her bare arm are being said to you, then this book and brand is for you.

I now I am off to meet Jase, Lucie’s brother…And see if he makes me feel that tingle, too….

Seducing Cinderella by Gina Maxwell
Book 1 in the Fighting for Love series. Contemporary romance. Friends to lovers troupe.
Mixed martial arts fighter Reid goes to physical therapy rehab on his torn rotator cuff injury. Turns out his therapist is his best friend’s little sister. Lucie lacks confidence in her sexuality so Reid makes a deal to teach her to flirt while he does the rehab per her strict instructions. Both know he’s going back to fighting in Vegas when his healing is complete.

From innocent flirting and clothing makeover to full daily sexual encounters, the couple grows closer as his leaving town gets nearer. Will they hold to their no commitment agreement?
Innocence swivels to multiple high heat scenes in the book. It’s sweet and spicy at the same time.
The updated version (early 2020) includes a wonderful epilogue that fans were asking for.
Engaging, hot and satisfying.

Excerpt:
“ A sigh of exasperation proceeded grumbling of what sounded like his name in mixed company with some very unfavorable threats against his manhood. And yet he smiled. He couldn’t help it; she was adorable when ornery.”

Lucie and Reid used to be friends when they were kids. She was the little sister of his best friend, but then she went to college, he went becoming an MMA champion and never saw each other again. Until now.

description

Now Lucie is a PA and he’s a champion who suffered an injury. Fate decided to put them together as doctor and patient. And everything would be just lovely if she wasn’t in love… with another man. A doctor at the hospital that never looked in her way twice.
So they make a deal: He moves to her house for the time of his treatment and in return he teaches how to seduce a man. But that’s the thing about teaching: it comes a time where the student become the professor, and Reid starts to fall for the girls he is trying to help get another guy.
And how do you win a girl that is trying to win another person?

description

I really liked this book. I wasn’t expecting to like it this much. The story is sweet and sexy and I got hooked from the first page.
Definitely, a series to follow.

description

Rating: 4 stars.
Storyline: Slightly predictable but sweet and engaging. The end felt a little short for me, I was expecting more.
Writing Style: Pretty good, flawless and addictive writing. Third person, alternated POV’s.
Character Development: Lucie was a great female character. She was sweet and strong and I liked her from the beginning. Reid was also a great example of the perfect alpha-male. I got a little annoyed with him in one point, but he redeemed himself. The supportive characters are also great. Can’t wait to read Vanessa’s book.
Steam: Hot.

OH MAN!! I AM CRYING AND SMILING AND DYING!!! This was the most beautiful and most heart pounding story I've read in a long time!! GAHHHHH.....that ending! *wiping away tears* I know nobody can see me...but literally there are tears rolling down my face! Reid..I love you! I love you, I love you, I just freakin love you!!!

UPDATE!!!

****First off, I would like to thank Gina L. Maxwell and her publicist, Jessica for giving me a copy of the book to review! I wouldn’t have melted into a puddle on the floor without you! *wink****

Hmmm....okay..how do I put this?? This book was pretty much my most favourite of all time in the history of ever! :D Seducing Cinderella had me in its grasp the moment I started it! It was sweet, funny, sexy and sooo addicting! I read this in 3 freakin hours!! O_O All that humor, seduction, love, drama and sexual tension had me laughing, biting my nails, begging for Reid to come stay with me or wishing like a clown on crack that I was in Lucie’s place! It was simply perfect!

My impression of Reid:

description

Oh, did I mention that non-stop swooning, drooling, getting turned on and falling in love are all a part of this magnificent book!? Yep, when you meet Reid Andrews, your life functions get terminated and you can’t help but fall for all that bad boy charm, sexy as sin tattoos, seductive eyes and smile and that impossibly sweet teddy bear side! Not that it happened to me....of course....*cough*

Reid Andrews, famous MMA fighter, finally has a chance to reclaim his belt as the light heavyweight champ, until he gets a shoulder injury that could very well mean the end of his career. With only months away from the big fight, Reid needs to heal - and fast. So Reid’s trainer, Butch, is left with no choice but to send him to a professional. Expecting someone who doesn’t understand his sport, Reid is surprised to find his best friend's little sister as his aid. Lucie Miller, physical therapist, is insecure and in love with a doctor, who doesn’t see her as more than a friend. So, when Reid comes back into her life offering seduction lessons in exchange for quick healing, she doesn’t turn him down. What was once a friendly relationship, Lucie and Reid soon find themselves engaged in an emotional battle of a more intimate level - one neither is able to resist nor confront. It’s one tough fight, but it’s a good thing neither is ready to loose each other’s hearts.

Don’t they both sound amazing! Lucie was such a treat. I loved her shy but totally feisty personality. She was cute and adorable and beautiful! And when we find out about what her ex-husband did to her, I was crying for her and very pissed of on her behalf! I mean, seriously, what a douchebag! I swear my middle finger was constantly playing jack in the box whenever he came up! Shallow Douchenozzle! Okay, Okay, I’m angry...again...*breathing in and out, in and out* Lucie’s character grows so much throughout the story and I was jumping with joy, as Lucie slowly starts to believe in herself and see herself as a beautiful woman once again. It was very touching and I loved the connection I felt with Lucie through her ordeals. She was a doll and there wasn’t one moment where I wasn’t cheering her on! YOU GO GIRL!! :D

Then we have Reid Andrews. Holy HOT TAMALES! The things I would do to this man....seriously though, Reid...after reading your story, I only have one thing to say to you:

description

Yes yes, call me a slut, a vixen, a naughty girl....but that doesn’t change the fact that I drooled and swooned, and purred and melted into a puddle over Reid!! Sexy...not even close, hot...doesn’t even begin to cover it, scorchingly beautiful....getting warmer, killer orgasm alert....DING DING DING DING!!!

Reid was fantastic...if you couldn’t already tell. He is a bad boy through and through but with a sweet side. What I loved most was how Reid also had insecurities. The way Ms. Maxwell portrayed those feelings on paper, was achingly beautiful. Reid wasn’t just some dumb jock, his character had depth. I loved that! Not to mention, his sense of humor and witty remarks. They had me laughing non-stop!

LOL XD Now add all that to his relationship with Lucie...WOWZA! I could practically see the sparks and thunder and lightning! It was hawt and scorching and totally panty melting! Watching Reid break Lucie’s armor of insecurities and turn her into a confident woman was amazing! Reid showed her, her worth and that anyone would be stupid not to love someone like her. And that right there, sealed the deal for me! How could it not?! This book wasn’t just some erotic story, there was real emotions and depth, that made you feel as if you were actually in the characters’ place. I was literally shouting at them to hurry up and get together! It was wonderful! :D

The secondary characters such as Vanessa, Eric and Kyle were all so much fun and likable! I would love to get a story for Vanessa! That would be too cool....and hilarious! XD

Overall, Seducing Cinderella was definitely worth the read! It was perfect from start to finish and I had a blast reading it! With a perfect blend of humor, romance, seduction and drama...it will have you hooked. I highly recommend this book because its one contemporary book you don’t want to miss out on! Ms. Maxwell, I sincerely hope you write a gazillion more books because this one blew me away! :D

My Fave part of the entire book:

He grinned. “You’re going to make me spell it out, aren’t you?”
“You’re lucky I don’t make you write it in the sky with one of those little planes.”
He chuckled, but sobered fairly quickly. Still holding her close, he touched his forehead to hers and spoke with the utmost sincerity shining in his hazel eyes. “Lucie Marie Maris...I am completely and utterly in love with you. And as God as my witness— no matter how long it takes—someday I will be worthy enough to be your husband, because I can’t bear the thought of living without you.”

***Seducing Cinderella was labeled the USA TODAY bestseller today, so hopefully it will be coming in paperback format soon!! WOOT WOOT!!***

Very cute, super steamy, corny but lovable, easy read. That just about sums it up I think.

Reid and Lucie are very likable, inoffensive characters and the plot is simple, light on angst and tension, a little predictable but sweet.

The sex scenes were hot!! Seriously hot! Reid is a professional fighter, sexy, hench, yet he has a softer side, is a closet sculptor and a master at seduction... obviously. He would be wouldn't he?!

Lucie is a geeky, chaotic bookworm with a stunning, sensual sex Goddess hidden beneath her dull exterior... yeh, I know, it's predictable but you've gotta love it.

“Maybe the best way to teach you how to seduce, is to let you feel what it's like to be seduced.”

So naturally, the super sexy master of seduction reconnects with the goofy girl from his childhood and ugly duckling inevitably turns into a swan. And in teaching her to become said swan, Mr. Fighter Man falls for the girl! Oooobviously.

“Since when has my heart been with you? Quite possibly from the first time I heard you snort. Very probably when you flirted with our waiter. Almost certainly the first time you fell asleep in my arms. And more definitely the night we made love.”

The characters could have done with a little more depth. It would have been nice to meet Lucie's brother, seeing as he clearly a huge part of both of their lives and I would have liked to have known his reaction to the eventual relationship. It would also have been good to read more about Vanessa, Eric, Stephen, etc. I liked Vanessa, she had a great sense of humour and I'd have liked to read more of her.

"Yeah, okay. We've..."
"Screwed like rabbits?"
"Been intimate. And it was..."
"Phenomenal, out of this world, good enough to make you instantly bend over and grab your ankles every time he looks at you?"
"That was a little over the top, even for you, Nessie."
"Sorry, I got carried away. Continue."

The book was very step-by-step typical romance. There was no real sub plots, very little background, minimal emotion and as I mentioned, hardly any depth to the characters. I wasn't addicted, I did manage to put it down and do other things and it didn't occupy my dreams like a lot of books seem to when I put them down to sleep.

But it was easy, emotionally undemanding and very steamy! If that's what you're after, give it a go.

Lucie Miller has been pining after her co-worker, Dr. Stephen Mann for years. He’s gorgeous and is “the picture of confidence” which has women swooning all over him. Just when Lucie thinks he’s finally going to ask her on a date, he shatters her by asking for her best friend’s number to ask her out! As she’s crying her new patient shows up. Little does she know that this is Reid Andrews, her brother’s childhood best friend and current MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) champion. At his prodding, Lucie confesses why she was crying figuring her chances with the doctor are non-existent.

Reid was injured while training and needs to be fighter ready in two months before he has to fight a challenger for this title. To accomplish that, he needs one-on-one intense therapy. Reid is shocked to find out his best friend’s little sister, Lucie, is the therapist assigned to him. Much to his dismay, Lucie has other patients and duties. Never one to give up, Reid suggests a bargain: she trains with him full time and he gives her lessons in seduction that will have the doctor eating out of her hand. Little does Reid realize, Lucie doesn’t need lessons to capture his heart.

I loved this story. It was the perfect mix of humor, romance, and HOT all wrapped up in one. I’m sure there’s not a woman alive that hasn't felt inadequate at one time or another, so it was real easy to relate to Lucie. She truly felt plain and boring and had no clue about wooing the opposite sex. I found her naiveté adorable. Reid on the other hand was strong, confident and sweet. Not to mention sexy with an edge! Here’s the drool-inducing description of him:

The man redefined Michelangelo’s idea of perfection, making the Statue of David look like a flabby wuss. His dark blond hair was cut close to his head and brushed forward and to the center, creating the tiniest of faux-hawks, and giving his model-perfect good looks a slight edge. Then there were the tattoos…good Lord, the tattoos.

I love it when romance includes humor and this one is packed full. I found myself highlighting in my kindle so many good lines! Here’s just one of the many that had me giggling:

Lucie: “I can’t believe it’s you. Wait, why does my chart say Randy Johnson?” Reid chuckled at the ridiculous name he used for anonymity. “It’s an alias.” Wanting to erase the pained look from whatever had happened before he arrived, he gave her a wicked smile and added, “And sometimes a state of being.” Her brows gathered together for the few seconds it took to sink in, then her cheeks flushed with color and her eyes grew wide. “Reid!”

The lessons in seduction were just so much fun to see played out. With the way Reid gives them, I’d be happy to take some of those lessons myself!! Where do I sign up?!! I can’t talk about this story without mentioning the scorchingly hot scenes! Some of the scenes should’ve had an Advisory Warning Label like: Warning: May Catch Fire While Reading This! I’m so happy that there was very little angst or frustration in this story and if I had any complaint it would be that I wanted more at the end. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed this and I’ll be checking out anything else Gina L. Maxwell writes! Definite recommend!

I just want to say thank you to my friend Bethany who is always ready with something scrumptious whenever Laura and I request a naughty read-along!

If you like it hot and quick then this is the book for you. Seducing Cinderella will entertain, hit you where it counts, and leave you very "satisfied".

Reid is Lucie's fairy sexmother (he can bibbity bobbity boo me any day). He and Lucie move in together so he can give her lessons on how to seduce her long time crush (insert douche-cough here) in return for her helping him get ready for the fight of his life. A fabulous concept that could have been executed a little better, but hot MMA fighter sex really makes the negatives easy to overlook.

The dialogue went a little too Harlequin at times (I completely burst out laughing when he called it her honey...OUTLOUD), but then the author would write a line and damn if I didn't get all tingly (and in all the right places).

"Because when I make you come for the first time I don't want you holding back. I want to hear every hitch of your breath, every moan. And I won't be satisfied until you scream my name."

The side stories are a bit random and don't fit well with the plot and the ending goes all teen blockbuster movie which made me almost give this three-stars. I mean the ending was sweet, but knowing Prince Charming has shoe'd Cinderella from the front, the back, and everywhere in between makes the sweet fairy tale ending seem very YA! Definitely gives new meaning to the phrase "some day my prince will come".

All negatives aside, Reid This book won me over. It's a great book to turn to when you're in between reads or when you want something fun, hot and quick! You'll be turned-on entertained to the point where you'll be very forgiving of a few minor flaws. Gina L. Maxwell...I got my eye on you! READ ON!

Apparently I 'm in a 2012-2014 rom-coms binge lately. I've missed all this gems back then so I'm making up for it now.

I like this one so much. The story was cute and funny, steamy sometimes and with good chemistry between the main couple. Reid knows Lucie since they were kids, him being her big brother best friend. He is a MMA champion who suffers an injury and needs recovery and Luce is his doctor who is gonna help him get back in shape for his next big fight. The problem is , she loves a colleague from work that isn't noticing her even in the slightest , her being shy and coy and very insecure, so Reid makes a deal with her , to let him live at her place , platonic of course, while she is helping his recovery and he is training her how to seduce her crush.
Obviously thing don't go as planed... they have more chemistry than either of them anticipated, and feelings are blossoming between them too. They are so cute together, funny banter,sexy flirting . The secondary characters are a bonus , they make the story even more entertaining. I want to read all about Vanessa(bff) and Jax (big brother) in the second book.

(just look at this man candy ...I m not drooling, you are!)

You know that time when you don't want complicated? You just want a lazy and lovely book to keep you entertained? I felt exactly like that last week and my wish was granted. I found Seducing Cinderella and it was just what I needed:  a great hero, a funny heroine and a sweet love story with an extra topping of steamy scenes and not complicated plot for my scrambled brain.

So, Reid is a mixed martial art fighter who needs help in fixing an injury he got just weeks before an important match. Who better to help him out that Lucie, his best friend sister, who is a physical therapist and can reshape him in no time. What Reid forgot to consider was how natural and beautiful Lucie is, but considering he has to focus on his career, the attraction for her had to be kept aside.

The problem is that Lucie is not very cooperative and considers Reid deadline as unrealistic for what a therapist might achieve. The solution? Reid offers Lucie a complete make over in order to get the man that she loves, a doctor colleague of her that doesn't give her attention. She reluctantly agrees and as you can imagine, they will end up falling for one another:)

I know, it was not unpredictable, surprising or whatever. But it was soooo sweet:) I loved Reid duality, the fighter and the lover. The way he behaved towards Lucie and the confidence he inflicted in her by making her aware of her qualities.
I liked Lucie as well, a great girl with a lot of insecurities, but the way Reid helped her was amazing and totally transformed the shy girl from the beginning to a very cool chick.

I loved the chemistry that they had, the love scenes were actually impressive and I liked Gina's interpretation of them. They were bold and hot and different in every scenario. You didn't have that feeling " here we go again", no.. They were diverse and actually very fitting for the plot and characters.

In a few words, I totally liked it, just that I won't give it 5 stars because the plot was too easy but it deserved a royally 4 stars for everything I have read there :)

This was a yummy 3 star read for me.

"Heart. Any fighter can win against any odds if he has more heart than his opponent."

It was short, predictable and more-than-a-little cheesy, but still, it was cute and had a fuzzy HEA.

Reid is a highly successful, smokin' hot MMA fighter. He works hard at his job, is dedicated and right now does not have the time to be injured. Which is what leads him to Lucie. Lucie works as a physical therapist. She's a cute, clumsy bookworm who is utterly infatuated with another doctor at her clinic who won't give her the time of day and lacks the confidence to do anything about it. With Lucie desperate to go out with her doctor love and Reid desperate for more time around Lucie, he offers to move in with her so that she can give him around the clock physical therapy and he can give her "hands on lesson[s] in Seduction 101" *rolls eyes with a smile* ... hmmm... I'm guessing I don't need to spell out where this all going, riiiight?? :P

"Maybe the best way to teach you how to seduce,is to let you feel what it's like to be seduced."

There are a lot of "picture perfect" things about this book... I mean, its got "Cinderalla" in the title... its a little fairy-tale over the top perfect - cute and clumsy girl meets fuckhot tattoed filty rich bad-boy-with-a-soft-artistic-side fighter... moves in with him instantly... just can't resist the chemisty etc. But at the same time, if you just approach it as a fun, light read then its pretty cute.

I did really love that Reid wasn't just pure fighter - he cooked, painted, sculpted etc. He wasn't afraid to show all his sides and it only added to his hotness! Seriously, I need to find me some more MMA fighter guy books!

"Because when I make you come for the first time I don't want you holding back. I want to hear every hitch of your breath... Every moan... And I won't be satisfied until you scream my name."

The sex is hot and there's a fair bit of it. There were several moments where I wanted to slap or throttle both of them but the ending is all wrapped up in a little bow and there are no surprises or twists to the story.

I liked it, but I found it very easy to put down and I prefer my stories with a little bit more depth. But if you are looking for something light, short, with steam and a HEA, then this is might be the book for you.

This book was so fun to read!!! It pretty much pulls you in hook line and sinker from the very beginning. It's steamy, steamy good! Reid is a MAJOR hottie and super smooth. Some of the things that come out of his mouth leave you feeling week in the knees! This book was really sweet and had so many amazing moments in it...I loved it! Can't wait to read more by Gina Maxwell :)

"Seducing Cinderella" is book 1 of the Fighting for Love series

How are the sex scenes?

Passionate and memorable with emotion that will make you forget to breathe.

How are the story lines?

Entertaining and character driven. Seducing Cinderella constantly revolves around the hero and heroine's relationship.

Summary

Reid needs full time physical therapy and Lucie needs Dr. Stephen, her sexy co-worker who's romantic intentions are currently towards Lu's uninterested friend. To achieve their goals, they strike a deal: Luce will get Reid ready for his rematch and Reid will help Luey nab Dr. Clueless Dumbass...or, Stephen.

Review

Gina Maxwell's "Seducing Cinderella" is a modern romance with scene-stealing characters and chemistry that proves everyone is having sex all wrong. Her writing is impeccable, but she had me at the dedication:

"...I searched for, and finally found, THE THING I WAS MEANT TO DO."

I still tear up reading that. Good for you, Gina.

Reid is beyond hot. There's no other way to put it. With his body and hair and tattoos and confidence and words...ohh, his words. In their first scene together Reid tosses Lucie on the exam table, stares deep into her eyes and breathes, "So, Miss Miller, tell me where it hurts."

Everywhere. Dies.

We find out fairly soon that Lucie more than fancies Dr. Stephen - she loves him. This is expounded upon and picked apart later, but thank you Gina for giving us a heroine who truly wants another guy.

Gina's writing is seduction on paper with lines like, "His breath feathered the drying strands tucked around her ear, and when he spoke, the vibrations from his voice rippled along her neck." Lucie thinks she'll never survive Reid's lovemaking. I felt I wouldn't survive Gina's writing. Her meanings are so layered and her descriptions and comparisons are so original that it took two days to read 155 pages.

155 pages?

"Seducing Cinderella" sure as hell feels like a 90,000 word novel with 12 subplots and guest walk-ons.

Reid pursues Lucie from the beginning, though he (and I) never noticed. Upon a second reading, I realized that Gina’s subtle hints ease us into the big “I love you” making it the natural next step - instead of a sudden scene-crash so many other novels die from.

Gina uses the best unique phrases. My favorite: “…pushed him with the strength of a baby bird.” Find that scene and we’ll talk about how accurate this sentence is.

"Seducing Cinderella" is true to its title. Reid is seducing his Cinderella and she is sometimes clueless to his seduction. So she says careless things, mentioning Dr. Stephen at inopportune times. Genius. Now we get to read great emotion and actually see Reid and Lucie struggle. Then when Reid demands to know why Lucie chooses Stephen...

“I don’t know what you want me to say.”

In nine words Gina sums up feelings I could describe to you in four paragraphs. I’ll repeat. Genius.

The ending almost threw me into a seizure. Gina pushed the story one way – so much so that I was sure we would have a Rocky reenactment of Reid in the ring shouting “Lubert.” We didn’t.

I then thought we may read the classic “let down” scene, where the characters finally see one another and have the story end two sentences later. That didn’t happen either.

What did happen was an ending that became predictable only right before it was read and a few lines that may remind you of a Young Adult romance. (The title is Seducing Cinderella, after all.) Gina did not end this novel on a Young Adult note, but she ran head first towards that line and thumped it.

I sat there with tears in my eyes, my adult mind being completely at peace with the heart-tugging journey and my teenage heart beating staccato from the melodramatic ending.

...

Food for thought - despite my usual dislike, Seducing Cinderella contains the most erotic and beautifully written oral scene I have ever read.

Now go forth, purchase, and find it.

Oh, and read my my site text, too.

WELL HELLO REID ANDREWS!!
Photobucket
(*Just pretend this tatt is on his right arm and goes up to his neck ok?! Okay ^_^*)

The man redefined Michelangelo’s idea of perfection, making the statue of David look like a flabby wuss. –Lu

Long story short.
Reid and Lucie grew up together as Reid is her brother’s best friend.
They lost touch when Reid becomes a top UFC Fighter.
He’s off his game now that he has a shoulder injury. He needs to get better FAST so he can reclaim his title. He needs one on one physical therapy.
When Reid gets to Lucies office he has no idea it’s his LUCIE. She has been married and changed her last name. When he gets to the office he sees she’s been crying.
She wants the Dr she works with but he doesn’t notice her.
Reid and Lucie come to an agreement she will work with him and get him ready for the fight, only of he teaches her how to seduce the Dr.
Of course they agree.
And of course by “teach” he has to “show” her.
Badda bing badda boom you end with an awesome story.

This story had the 4 things I normally look for in chick lit.
A- Amazing Alpha male with a filthy mouth- but can also be sweet.
“You’re sexy as hell Lucie, and I want to unwrap you to get to the decadent prize underneath. I want to learn your likes and dislikes – to know your fears and your dreams – and I vow to peel back each beautiful layer until I discover everything about you.”
…….
“Because when I make you come for the first time I don’t want you holding back. I want to hear every hitch of your breath. “He placed a kiss at her temple. “Every moan.” Another kiss on her cheek.” And I won’t be satisfied until you scream my name.”

B- Scorching hot sex scenes
“Goddamn it, Luce.” He said gruffly. “I love that you’re always so wet for me. I’ve never felt anything so tight and hot. I want to live inside you and never leave.”
-- Obviously I can’t write the actual sex scenes but you get my point! LOL
C- Lol moments.
“There’s more to you than meets the eye, isn’t there?” He grinned and raised a brow. “I’m not a transformer if that’s what you mean.”
…………
Phenomenal , our this world, good enough to make you instantly bend over and grab your ankles every time he looks at you?”
………..
“Never trust a man if he doesn’t at least drink beer. A man that drinks things that end with the word `tini` aint really a man. He might as well be announcing the size of his pecker as he is ordering a drink, if you know what I’m getting at.”

………
"Okay, here comes your boy with our drinks. He'll wait for you to approve the wine. I want you to channel Jessica Rabbit and give him a show."
Her jaw dropped. "You want me to channel a cartoon character from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
Reid's expression actually looked like he couldn't believe her incredulity at his choice in sex goddess. "She's sex on heels. Every dude wants to bang Jessica Rabbit."
**Side note I am clearly not a male but even I want to “bang” Jessica Rabbit! LOL

D- HEA
“Since when has my heart been with you?” She nodded. He stepped closer and framed her face in his large hands. “Quite possibly from the first time I heard you snort.” He placed a kiss on the tip of her nose. “Very probably when you flirted with our waiter.” A warm kiss on the freckle by her eye. “Almost certainly the first time you fell asleep in my arms.” A small kiss on the opposite cheek. “and most definitely the night we made love.” Finally a tender kiss on the lips.”

~~~~~~~~~~~ 3.5 STARS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was very sweet. The only hang up I have with this book is an MMA fighter helping a woman with a makeover. Guys in General can express what they like on a woman but picking out a new wardrobe and giving a beautician advice about all the different makeup looks? Unlikely.
Luckily this fantasy spin on an otherwise sweet romance didn't last long! Reid and Lucie were believable as a coupe surprised to fall for each other while hatching out a plan for Lucie to land her dream man, while providing physical therapy for Reid. Little did she know that her dream man was under her nose the whole time.
Advice soon turns to lessons in intimacy and what Lucie thought she wanted for a successful relationship was not even close to what she ultimately needed. Reid never knew he could want the normal things in life but when the right woman comes along...
The book did get more interesting in the last half when the stakes got higher and the emotions ran rampant. Not to say it wasn't good in the first half but rather just picked up. I am a huge fan of friends to lovers/best friends sister--type stories. They seem to be more tender in nature, more fulfilling, maybe due to the history involved or the bottled up passion lain dormant for years.
This of course was a best friends sister tale, with the story continuing in Rules of Engagement, book 2 in this series. But don't fret, the story is resolved here between Reid and Lucie, ending as beautifully as I'd hoped for. Their tale continues but isn't the emphasis in book 2 since Lucie's best friend gets her chance there. And with Jackson, Lucie's brother and best friend to Reid, being the lucky guy ;-)) looking forward to continuing this series!
(Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC in exchange for a honest review)
Publication date: 15 March 2020
Plot
Since Lucie was not attractive enough to be brought to a ball by her colleague, she then confides in her new patient Reid who coincidentally walked right in to see her crying. She stares at Reid with different lusty eyes after she sees his tattoos and shoulders, warnings of him being her brother's bestfriend ignored. Reid gives Lucie a deal: her being his in house physical therapist and him being her love guide.
Thoughts
It felt like a big part of the book was missing and that is how were Lucie and Reid during childhood since that's where Lucie's crush began from. It was hard to keep an interest in this book because of how forced the connection between them was. Both seemed to have a goal in mind and just because it aligned, they thought they have a connection. I couldn't feel the butterflies or the passion and electricity the characters felt for one another. I requested for this ARC because I read the review that it had "hot sex scenes" but they were a complete turnoff because of how cocky Reid was. In all, it just felt like a fairy tale and too much of cliches.
Seducing Cinderella was a wonderfully fun, often funny, seriously hot book! Reid and Lucie are both likeable, sympathetic, and well-developed characters with a ton of chemistry between them. I love friends to lovers, brother's best friend and childhood crushes turned adult affairs stories, and this one has it all. Add to that a hero who is seriously molten hot while at the same time having a real sweet side, and Seducing Cinderella was an all-around fun, fast-paced read! Definitely recommend!
“Heart. Any fighter can win against any odds if he has more heart than his opponent.”
This was such a charming little story. Yes, it was highly predictable and it went by way to fast for my taste, but that was just peachy with me. Reid was all kinds of sweet and sexy. Who wouldn’t fall in love a tattooed bad ass UFC fighter with a soft side? And Lucie was just adorable.
Oh, Lucie. She’s a very successful Physical Therapist and loves her job. She loves that feeling of helping others. Lucie is beautiful inside and out. She has such an amazing heart, but alas, she is a wallflower. She’s been pining for her Doctor co-worker for years. They work closely together, but not once has he ever noticed her that way. She tries to patiently wait for the day that he will. That is until Reid walked back into her life.
Reid Andrews is desperate to win back his title. Fresh off a shoulder injury, he’ll do whatever it takes to make himself better in time for the fight. Since his trainer is out of commission for a while, he has no choice but to seek outside therapy. What he didn’t know was that the therapist he was seeking help from came in the form of his best friend’s little sister Lucie. He’s always had a big brother complex when it came to Lucie. So when he walks in and sees her crying, he’s determined to find out why. She explains her situation regarding her doctor crush and he comes up with plan. He’ll teach her the art of seduction in exchange for 24/7 therapy. She agrees, takes time off work and off they go. Soon after they begin their lessons, it wasn’t long for them to incorporate bedroom physical activity into their plans. So what’s the drawback? I’m sure you can guess.
They each contemplate if what they want out in life is really what they want. Lucie begins to see her doctor-crush in a whole new light. When comparing the two, Reid wins easily wins, but they have nothing in common; that would ruin her plan to start a family with someone more compatible. Plus Reid would eventually tire of living a quiet life with just one woman. Wouldn’t he? As for Reid, he starts to question whether or not to stop fighting all together. Is there room for Lucie in his life if he’s not ready to stop? Is he even relationship/family material? Can he give her what she wants?
“Get him off the phone, or I’ll get you off with him on it.”
Ummmm…yea. Reid and Lucie’s physical relationship is hot. There are lots and lots of steam in this one for everyone to enjoy, but that wasn't the best part. I absolutely loved the ending. Yes, it was a little cheesy and very Cinderella-ish, but I love that fairy tale, so it was just fine by me.
Klişe ama aşırı tatlı bir kitaptı. Yazarın dili, karakterin libidoların Allahüekber dağlarına çıkmadığı, özellikle kadın karakterin salaklıkta dünya markası olmadığı, erkek karakterin dur az bad boy olayım diye kasmadığı ve ilk sevişmeleri sonrası hayatımınmanasıbitanemaşkımçiçeğimböceğimminiğime bağlamadığı çok tatlı bir kitaptı.
Hıı bu kadar beğendin neden 3 yıldız diye sormayın lütfen sağlam bir kitaptan sonra (bkz: Rüzgarın Adı) bu tarz çıtır çerez kitaplar okuyorum kafayı toparlıyorum ama çok beğensem de çıta çok yükseklerde olduğundan cimrilik ediyorum :)
What a wonderful spin on the Cinderella fairy tale.
description
I hate to give any of the plot away other than to say this was a wonderful "friends to lovers" book. Reid is a MMA fighter recovering from an injury. He's sexy as hell and multi talented. He turns to Lucie, an old friend and physical therapist, to help in his recovery.
st. pierre
This was an erotic yet romantic story of a girl learning that Prince Charming wasn't as beautiful on the inside as he appeared on the outside. I loved Reid taking on the role as the fairy godmother while he trained to get his belt back.
Fight
Lucie was in much need of self confidence and I loved her transformation. And Reid was the man to show her the way. This was an adorably hot read.
Gina Maxwell is a friend of mine, and when I met her she wrote paranormal romance. (She still does, but that's not the point.) Then one day, she sat down to write a contemporary, and bam! she knocked it out of the park! Check out her debut with Entangled's Brazen line if you like humor, great dialogue, hot heroes with a bit a real-world-male edge, and heroines who find their feet and their confidence and start kicking ass. Can't wait for the rest of the installments in Gina's "Fighting for Love" series.
I would just like to start off by saying, all I want for Christmas is my very own real life Reid. That man defines the word delicious.
Lucie is a physical therapist who is head over heels for a doctor she has worked with for awhile but he just doesn't seem to notice her..Until Reid, who is an MMA fighter, comes to her with an injury he needs worked out before he tries to reclaim his title. He teaches her how to seduce, and in return, she helps him get ready for the big fight...Easy right? Oh so so very very wrong. Reid is Lucie's older brother's best friend and is now wondering why he never noticed her before.
Lucie is beautiful but lacks the confidence and conviction she needs to carry herself with the knowledge of her beauty, Reid is there to help her along... Their chemistry is undeniable.
To carry out this arrangement, Reid is moving in with Lucie for a couple of months so she can devote all her time into getting him ready...She is not prepared to have this gorgeous, sculpted, tattooed, Michelangelo of a man in her house and teaching her the art of seduction, but sometimes, people are just naturals...example? Sure!
She tipped her head in a coy manner and looked up at him through those sexy spiked lashes. "Then again, technically speaking, I suppose it's you that's gotten into me." Reid hadn't been aware his jaw had dropped until she lifted it up with the tips of her fingers and said, "You keep your mouth open like that and you're bound to catch flies."
Reid has his very own special moments, the man as I said defines delicious. He is flirtatious, confident, sexy, an alpha, and definitely a fantastic lover...a charmer. Yes he is ALL of that and much much more...
"Pretend I'm him. I haven't been able to keep my eyes off you since the moment I saw you. I'm wondering how I could've been so blind not to have noticed how truly gorgeous you are."....."I start with simple chitchat, shoptalk, but the entire time you're talking I'm staring at your lips and imagining what they'll taste like." Yes that's right, SWOON!
Taken from the book description: Soon Reid finds him himself in the fight of his life...winning Lucie's heart before she gives it to someone else.
I will tell you right now this would have won my heart ten times over, "Since when has my heart been with you?" She nodded. He stepped closer and framed her face in his large hands. "Quite possibly from the first time I heard you snort." He placed a kiss on the tip of her nose. "Very probably when you flirted with our waiter." A warm kiss on the freckle by her eye. "Almost certainly the first time you fell asleep in my arms." A small kiss on the opposite cheek, "And most definitely the night we made love." Finally a tender kiss on the lips.
I'm not sure if that last quote would have ruined it for those who have not read it, but I hid it anyway :)...Once you have read the book, read this quote and tell me you wouldn't have just completely melted! I know I did!..>Read this book, it was a short but a definite fantastic read :)
Avevo pensato di andare sul sicuro con "La Straniera" della Gabaldon, perchè avendone solo sentito tessere le lodi, ero (e sono) mooolto mooolto curiosa.
Ma, ahimè, la mia codardia mi ha fatto desistere, e di fronte a quell'abnorme numero di pagine che non avevo proprio il coraggio di affrontare in quel momento, sono approdata - meglio inciampata - qui.
Scegliere un libro in cui la protagonista rincontra un vecchio amico d'infanzia/pugile/bono/alto/prestante/figo/tartaruga/ben messo lì in basso che, con la scusa del "ho la spalla a pezzi, devo combattere e... ehi sei la mia fisioterapista", le propone (al loro primo incontro dopo anni) di trasferirsi da lui per aiutarlo a guarire, e nel frattempo insegnarle a conquistare gli uomini e finire per fare le cose porche mentre lei tenta di conquistare un altro... beh si, deduco che il karma abbia voluto punirmi (giustamente).
All'inizio i due non provano una seria attrazione fisica, questo perchè non c'era ancora stato modo di vedersi mezzi ignudi.
Quindi ecco che Reid (questo il nome del tizio superaccessoriato), da esperto seduttore qual è, le propone (lei è Lucie, per la cronaca) di mettersi in costume per poterle osservare meglio la merce e riuscire a farle capire quali parti del corpo valorizzare per conquistare il collega di lavoro per cui sta in fissa da tempo. Lei non è d'accordo, ma STRANAMENTE acconsente, impaurita dalla minaccia di dover restare in intimo anziché in costume. Fin qui tutto chiaro, no?
Una volta spogliata, lui la posiziona davanti allo specchio, le si struscia dappertutto, accarezza qua e là, mette le dita in zone che in teoria non avrebbe neppure dovuto sfiorare, preme, palpa (e a momenti schiaffeggia) di tutto e di più e per lei è ancora tutto normale, nessuno scandalo, è il suo vecchio amico, la sta aiutando, non prova nulla, oh le scappa un gemito, non era niente... ma che caa... perchè si ferma? Ah giusto, forse stava esagerando.
Ok, prendete tuuuutto questo, spargete delle scene tipo quella appena descritta e distribuitele più o meno a caso fino a metà libro, poi decidete di farli andare a letto insieme per fare "pratica ravvicinata" *dieci facepalm di fila* ed avrete partorito uno straordinario spreco di carta e inchiostro da prendere e mettere da parte nei casi in cui avete voglia di fare un falò.
description
Quello che chiedo in un libro è che non siano rose e fiori dal primo istante, che la passione sbocci col tempo, che i baci non vengano dati per tappare la bocca a qualcuno che parla troppo, che i due si odino ma che non si amino dall'oggi al domani, che le battute argute non siano solo a sfondo sessuale, che i due protagonisti mi stiano un briciolo simpatici, che i titoli abbiano a che fare seriamente con il contenuto del libro (parlo dell'originale "Seducing Cinderella"!!), e che le protagoniste non vengano vendute all'asta per un ballo da CENTOMILA DOLLARI!
Reid Andrews, a mixed martial arts fighter need a help to reclaim his belt of therapist Lucie Miller to heal his injury in short time. He made a deal to Lucie she will not refuse. Lucie Miller has a crush on doctor who didn't notice her for so long. She agrred to Reid to help her boost her self confidence and learn how to seduce the doctor she wanted for so long. All went well until Reid want for himself the improvement of Lucie. They grew up together and he is her's brother's bestfriend so he's afraid to risk the friendship. He think that Lucie deserved better than him.
This is cute and feel good read. I enjoyed it. Though the irony of MMA fighter teaching a woman to choose a dress and flirt seems funny. But it works for me, like it. I love the writing. The intimate scene of Reid and Lucie was definitely HOT. But Lucie didn't matter to me much. I find her cute though weak sometimes. Her insecurities of everything is annoying. She was a successful woaman after all. The story was predictable at times but still okay. Onto next book ;)
