The writing was a bit difficult, but it did not hinder the readers from enjoying the book. It is my first time reading the author's book, and I was quite impressed. For me, "The Lamp at the Turning" was the most unusual romance that I have ever read. At some places, I felt the stories needed something more to make sense.
The book gives you an atmosphere of old folklore, fairy tales, and futuristic worlds. The book definitely deserves 4 stars. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with an opportunity to read and review the book.

Each character had a different story to narrate, which contributed equally to the story.
Edith's character was the most interesting and secretive one. And the last few pages were a bang. Although the story became flat for a few pages, Still, the climax is fresh in my mind. The only barrier for me was the writing style, which would have attracted more readers if it were simple. I would like to give the book 4 stars.

For me, the most interesting part was Harry and Megan's marriage and their book and show releases, which shook the whole monarchy. While listening to the audio, I felt that it is really not easy for a person to assume such a big responsibility, and that too when he is mourning his mother's death. There is a part in the book where Charles III is acknowledged as a king for the very first time. It really gave me goosebumps. People may say a lot of things, but they don't know that with the crown comes great responsibility. The only thing that was a bit off for me was that the storyline got a bit monotonous after a few chapters. Definitely, I will give the book 4 stars.

But if you are a fan of his work, you should go ahead and give the book a shot. I could only give the book 3 stars.

Medea's character is nice emerging as a strong woman and who is trying to make her mark in this men's world. Few parts of the story were interesting. My favorite one was when Medea tries to flee from her father and the measures she took were shocking and unbelievable. But, still I wanted more from the plot, especially, a Greek atmosphere was absent. Also, it didn't felt like a retelling also. I would only give 3 stars to the book.

A Flicker in the Dark by Stacey Willingham is an amazing psychological thriller by a debut author. The characters, the plot, and the climax—everything is just perfect, like a motion picture. The plot engages you right from the start and keeps you on edge with every page. All the characters are distinct and have a storyline. And the best thing is that all of them are under suspicion. Chloe's character was so interesting. She is not perfect; she has problems, which eventually set the plot on fire. And when you think everything is resolved, the author drops the final bomb.
Stacey Willingham's writing style is excellent, giving the characters a shade of darkness. And the book keeps getting better and better. I must say that it is one of the best thrillers I have read this year. Definitely, the book deserves 5 stars. ...more

It will give them a fair idea of his style of writing. The authors have done a commendable job, as it is not easy to recreate a legend's work. For me, it is a 4-star read and definitely an exciting one.

Ava's character develops throughout the story, from a pitiful life to a conman.
