Kurt has laid claim to her, but in an attempt to protect her alphas Ezra and Cayson claimed a “fated mate” bond with her. Unfortunately, this doesn’t get her out of the claim from Kurt. The Ultimas demand they try things out and see if anything is there. These guys (the Ultimas) are weirdos. LOL! One in particular shows himself to be a real jerk. I’d be interested to learn what his deal is. This installment to the series introduces feral wolves into the mix. More men for Faye, but she’s not keen on these new additions. Unfortunately for her, there is a connection there whether she wishes it or not. Not gonna lie, I got irritated with her when she tried to lie about there being a connection at all. Would she prefer Kurt force the issue instead and ultimately push the Ultimas to allow him to claim her? Yes, Faye is an omega, but her wishy-washy behavior works my nerves. The story doesn’t focus enough on the ferals, unfortunately. It needed more. We get steamy scenes, which are nice, but the ending falls a bit flat. Expect a mild cliffhanger, but it was predictable with the way things were going. ...more

The warden says he needs all guardians to round up those who broke out, but refuses to let them go after Astra. Something sounds fishy. The vampires are demanding Astra find a way to fix their reproductive issues...without her abilities. Well, that’s a tall order. She’s not alone, Raze is there, but if she doesn’t comply? He pays the cost. The final book will see the final chapter in Nyx’s threat, and Astra and her men finally getting their HEA. I hate to say it, but I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I had hoped to. The overall storyline feels like there is a Huge brick on the scale putting the majority of problems they face...in their favor. Gods allowing themselves to be blackmailed, an out-of-control shifter decimating the enemies before they can be questioned & no punishment for disobeying the Alpha. I needed more balance in the story concerning the various situations they faced. They were rarely truly challenged. Is it wrong for me to want the characters to work for/earn their HEA? There are a few steamy scenes, and they’re okay, but I wanted more detail. LOL! My favorite part of the book? The surprise cameos! Loved it! Not my favorite in the series, but not every book is going to be for everyone. I’m sure others will enjoy how this final chapter in the series plays out. ...more

Safir is an elf in hiding. She escaped a prison that was meant to hold her until she spilled her secrets, but escape she did. But she didn't escape alone. Now she is a spy and a good one at that. She gathers information for her employer and plays the guardian when needed. Safir has been through a lot in her life, but when a young girl's mother tells her of a vision she has seen...well, Safir is skeptical. A choice she want to make, but will have to because it will be the right thing to do? Sounds pretty vague, right? Well, fate is a funny thing...and it strikes with a twist every time. The storyline is engaging overall. I was swept up in the first half of the story. Gradually, the story slows down, and it became a little more difficult to stay engaged. It's okay though because there are just enough elements to keep me coming back for more. Once the story regains its footing ,I'm pulled back in with unique elements. This book brings in some pretty dark themes, so please read the warnings. It's only fair. The steamy level...pretty low, but you do get a couple of deliciously steamy scenes. would have loved more, but we're hopeful that the steamy level will rise with future books. Mild cliffhanger, so no yowling over here this time. LOL! But, we are still eagerly anticipating the next book in the series. ...more

ThiThe series continues the installment of book four. Unfortunately, it took me a while to recall these characters, and where the storyline left off. This installment started off a bit disjointed for me, but once I regained my footing it gained traction again. The drama continues as Senara works to learn who she is, and the powers that she holds. Along with her bonded, Thorn, it is going to be a tough road ahead with the Void Dragon Empress awakening and threatening everything. The pacing of this story ebbs and flows. When it was engaging I ate up the pages. When the characters were behaving like petulant children or things started to drag it became harder to push through. I was able to skim some spots and not miss out on much. The second half of the story is more interesting than the first as things really begin to heat up. Secrets are coming to light, the tension is rising, along with the danger. The author focuses more on the storyline this book, and so there is less steamy time. I almost thought we weren't going to get any at all. LOL! We get another tense cliffhanger with this book's close. Definitely got a raised eyebrow in how the final chapters play out, but I'll be looking forward to the conclusion of this series. ...more

Two groups of wolves have been vying for control for decades, but the Umbra wolves have been the ones who held control for the past several decades. Their control has harmed their counter group the Elios wolves. Cue up star-crossed lovers – Theron and Lyra. Meet by accident, fall in love, but circumstances tear them apart, leaving Lyra with a broken heart. A year later...fate gives them another shot. This book moves pretty quickly. These are some pretty young characters, but since you’re getting steamy, they are obviously going to be of age. Lyra, 18, reads very much like a woman scorned and unfortunately comes off as petulant, bratty, and a touch immature. We get the story from both Lyra and Theron’s POV throughout the book. The story is engaging, but there are some highly predictable elements that even the characters should have seen coming in certain scenes. The romance moves quickly, but we appreciate that it’s not just Lyra and Theron who claim the spotlight throughout this book. We get some twists & surprises, and I have to say I appreciate that not everything goes perfectly. Character growth is at a minimum which is disappointing, but it’s an enjoyable book overall....more

Imagine treacherous seas, danger from unseen foes, secrets from the past, and so much more. Of course, the way that this story starts off? It will have you hooked...fully. This book is short, fast-paced, and full of drama. The romance moves quickly, but it works! There is a touch of steamy, but not enough for those with greedy souls. LOL! We get an open-ended ending, so whether the story continues into the rest of the Chronicles or whether we’ll have to wait for more...only time will tell. But this is a story we eagerly devoured, and will be begging for more of. ...more

This book gives readers a first glimpse into a world under threat. A wicked woman is coming to steal what is not hers and she's destroying everything her path. The king attempts one last ditch effort to give another time to safely sequester his daughter away. It works, and his daughter, Harmony, is swept away into a fairy tale book. Cue moving forward by a couple of decades and that is where the story kicks off. Imagine Cinderella with a major twist and a mix in of the Wizard of Oz/Wicked and this is what you get. A fantastic story that grips you as Harmony tries to save her friend from a dangerous king. But there is more going on than meets the eye. The pacing of this book overall is good. It's slow at times, but then it will surprise you by the drama intensifying and demanding you pay attention. The final chapters though will have you on the edge of your seat as you begin to piece together more important facts about this story. When I got to the last pages the only thing I could say was "OMG! OMG! OMG!" LOL! Needless to say, I'm excited for where things are going from here....more

This book will grab you and suck you in before you even know what's happening. This novel picks up where book one left off. Tate has been through a lot, but this thing that she's going through? I'ts not over! Not by a long shot! Her friend was hurt, but she had to leave her behind. Now, Tate is being taken to the home of the Untish clans. You'd think the hard part is over, right? Wrong! While Tate is coming into her own, she's in even more danger. Why? Because her past is coming back to announce to the world who and what she truly is. Then there is Chance. Boy oh boy, this book just keeps getting better. Exposed to dark magic, forever changed, magic now infused into his body. You don't know which direction you want to go with him. Shake him, hug him...or worse. LOL! He's a chaotic character, but he's struggling with the changes and it all just makes this book wild. Not a complete fan of Aether's bullying tactics or Tate's aggressive behavior, but we can understand it. Don't have to like it, but we get it. This book is absolutely riveting and the minute we sat down to read it...yeah...page devouring session was in full force. We have to know what happens next so we will be here...eagerly waiting for more....more

Lottie falls through a portal and finds herself in a cursed Oz. There, she immediately meets three men and they proceed to embark on a quest to save Oz. Sounds pretty intriguing, right? Well, for this reader...that's where the intrigue stops. Everything moves pretty quickly. Insta-love, insta-lust and a quick moving story with a need for more world-building and development. This book has a lot of potential, but it needs more fleshing out. I wanted more development to really draw me into the story. As it is, I feel like there is a lot that I'm missing and left me wanting. There are some steamy moments in the story, but they taper off and become more "fade to black" scenes with readers being encouraged to use their imagination. I could have seen this book being a series, but this is what we have. It ended up leaving me feeling disappointed....more

AlleaIf you’re looking for a light reverse harem paranormal romance/fantasy romance novel then Queen’s Shadow will probably be the right fit for you. Alleah started out in the human world, one day a good looking guy offered an opportunity to go to college, all expenses paid. Sounds too good to be true, right? On her way to the meeting...her entire life changed. This is a pretty fast-paced standalone novel. We’re catching up with Alleah four years after entering Briarwisky Academy. The old queen has stepped down and the search is on for a new one. Alleah has no interest in being queen, but her roommate, Sorche, does. This story moves a pretty quick clip introducing bits of drama, whirlwind romance, and engaging elements to engage you into the story. For the most part. Things take some unexpected turns, but then the excitement fizzles. It becomes more day to day back and forth. We have mate bonds established, but if you’re hoping for some spice...this book lacks. That would be okay, if there was more to the overall storyline, but just ends up feeling rushed and in need of more – more drama, more details, just more of everything. Had potential, but just doesn’t meet it all....more

But Siles isn’t going to let the woman he loves get away so easily. He does something he knows he shouldn’t...an act of necromancy. It brings her back, but not who she once was. She’s forgotten. This is a distraction that Siles doesn’t need, but he’s desperate to have her. Exiled he must now raise an army to fight against traitorous Odessa and reclaim what is his by right, and stop the ERA from being implemented and threatening to chain those with power into an unfair system. The back and forth between Madi and Siles will keep you glued as Siles struggles with his emotions, balancing his need to regain his position, revenge on Odessa, and more. Madi struggles to remember who she is, and her life before. The final chapters though? Prepare for multiple POVs and so much more. You’ll be eagerly looking for the next book!

Faye has lost everyone she’s ever cared about. All she had left was her brother...until he was brutally taken by an alpha simply looking to put on a show for his friends. Her time is up for living alone in the woods though. It’s time for The Selection...and whether she likes it or not…she has to go. Faye is an omega, and she has a real amount of trouble hanging over her simply due to the accusation she leveled against her brother’s killer. Nothing was done about it, but that changes nothing. She’s a weak and frail woman. This is pointed out frequently throughout this book. But she’s still an interesting character. Told from multiple POV we get to follow along with Faye, Ezra, and Cayson. This is an interesting cast of characters for sure to follow. There are some predictable aspects of the story, but there is just enough to keep me coming back for more and to keep page-turning to find out what happens next. Expect a cliffhanger with this book. It’s not a major one, but it’s enough of one to leave you eager for more. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. ...more

But one day...her planning can't plan for the threat that comes kicking in the doors. This author literally had me sitting up and my jaw on the floor with this book. You are literally warned that Aven loses her family to the fae, but you only think...one...maybe two. Brace yourself. I kept thinking...no way...there's no way!! It is horrifying, but when I tell you you will be glued to the page...trust me! Not going to say that Aven was my favorite character, but I applaud her strength and resilience. Her attitude irked me from time to time, but I appreciated her character growth as the story progressed. The ending though? OMG!! It will leave you shocked and looking for book two. I need it. Now. You're treated to a steamy scene The Bloodstone Legacy series kicks off with this fantastic book and be prepared to be sucked in from the first page. You're treated to a steamy scene with romantic undertones, but that's where the "innocence" of the scene ends. A dream quickly becomes a nightmare. It's heartbreaking to know how it ends, but it sets the stage for Aden's mental trauma. He carries it with him everyday, but he also refuses to face it. For now. This book gives us readers a dual POV as it alternates between Aden and Ellie. Ellie is a human who has suffered a lot in her young life. The vampire she lives under is shockingly cruel. It is literally jaw-dropping when the author gives us a clue as to the depths of this particular vampire's cruelty. I literally thought one particularly brutal scene was a flashback! Nope! It tells of a scene currently unfolding. I wasn't particularly fond of certain scene skips, but it can be overlooked overall as it probably wouldn't have contributed to the overall storyline as a whole. One of my favorite parts of this story is the world-building. It's done in just the right places with just the right amount to draw me into the book more and more in a quest for more answers. This book is not for the faint of heart, and I loved every minute of it. I personally would have loved more steamy scenes, but for the first book in a new series? This book is a page-turner! The ending left me with my jaw on the floor. Of course, I started piecing a few things together as the scene unfolded, but it still left me eager to find out what happens next. Crossing my fingers I won't have to wait long. ...more
