First, let me admit to y'all that I waited for the perfect moment to read this book. You see, I thought the ending to the first book was already perfect. I thought I didn't need more confirmation of their happily ever after. However, I was wrong. I needed more of them. I needed to know about him and Raine. I needed more of Sebastian Stark.
They pick up where they left off in the first book. Sebastian and Raine are currently living in Miami. In a building with many other people. Hey at least they're near the beach, right?
Nope.
Raine hates the beach now. She doesn't like it now because of their time at sea. Ironic really because Bastian loves it as much as she hates it.
And that's a problem.
You see, in the first book, we already know that Sebastian could be a jerk. A real jerk about almost everything. He has a temper, but he acts like he's a child around Raine. Here in this book, Bastian becomes more of a jerk. I think it's really the stress of having more people around. I know how he wants the solitary life (WITH RAINE), but since he couldn't have it, he put up with it but is all stressed about it too. In all fairness to him, I think the gentle, caring and loving (not that he ever stopped saying or expressing his love for Raine) Bastian has always been there, he just needed a purpose. He needed to be needed.
That's where the complication comes in.
He's called again.
To fight.
'Til death.

I know, I know. He shouldn't be doing that anymore, being a retired fighter and all that. However, there's an important catch. That catch is his reason to stomach what he's about to do when he said yes to fighting again.
Yes, he's fighting again in this book and the number 1 rule is that there's only ONE survivor. ONE ONLY! He has the right motivation now, so he should really come home alive!
I had no doubt that he'll come out as the winner, but how he does just that is the thing that you have to look forward to.
THE ACTION. IT'S PURE EXCITEMENT AND THRILL! Honestly, it was like watching a movie - like the adult version of HUNGER GAMES. I loved every page of it. You must think that I'm some kind of a sadist, but no. I'm not all for the killing, I'm all for Bastian's survival and the methods of each and every one of them in that field. Definitely a must read! I love the way he pushes himself and the way he observes his opponents. His focus is the best thing. He's just plain awesome that way. :)
I admire Raine's strength in all of this. She might not be physically strong, but mind and heart? She's amazing! I love how she sticks by his side no matter what. She must really love him and I like that for them.
The twists in this book is never ending. I totally think that there's another book coming since there are some lose ends in here. I want to see what will happen to other characters like Landon. I actually want to see if Bastian would get a regular job. I know it's a long shot since I can't even imagine him as anything but a fighter. It'll be interesting to see.
All in all, Shay Savage is still a genius in my opinion. This is an awesome book. Truly awesome!...more

I love just how they got together in this book. The story felt light because under dark circumstances, Roth was one hilarious guy! I swear it! The situations are intense and the action is phenomenal.. but Layla and Roth? THEY'RE ALWAYS SWEET.. As in "I'M-DYING-OF-ENVY" kind of sweet! I like it that they stayed true to that from start to finish of this book! I love it to pieces!!!
The plot is indeed intriguing. The identity of the Lilin is finally revealed, and yet, new players are introduced. I love just how mysterious these characters are. They sure add spice to this book! :)
The ending is really good, but I do have some questions... 1. Morris? 2. Bambi?
I won't elaborate on these questions... But I really wanna know more about them!
I have a feeling that I'll see Bambi again somewhere though. Hmm..

WHO HAD TO PRETEND THAT SHE'S A BOY!!!!!! AHHHH COULDN'T IT BE CUTER??!! But on a serious note, I think her reason for pretending to be a boy is quite noble. Plus, unlike Mulan who had no idea of what she's doing, our heroine slash hero is already good at fighting. It's awesome!! Somewhere along the way, she gets stuck with two studs. One is already there at the top. A real hero. While the other is our unlikely hero, who in my opinion, is more handsome by the way. :)

Together, they learn more about fighting demons, evading bad circumstances. Basically, they just become close friends. Friends who bicker once in a while, but understand one another. It's honestly the best part. Their camaraderie. :)

So yeah, people. I'd like to say that this book, to me, is a welcome surprise. A surprise that I have wanted to have since the beginning.
Christian's thoughts made me sad, happy, hot, frustrated, ambivalent etc. Bottom line is, he made me feel a lot. A LOT. I love him the way he is. The way he's clueless about his own feelings. The way he wants to protect people, and yet I want to personally protect him. The way he appreciates little things and give away big things like it's nothing. I love the way he cares without wanting something back because he think he's not worthy. HE'S WORTHY, by the way.
Frankly, I loved this book because I love the guy. That's just it.
My wish is granted. What more can I ask for?

REVIEWER'S NOTE: Whenever I read fiction books, though I know they're not real, I always see their potential to be real. I say "Oh, this can happen in real life."... Well, this book's dilemma could definitely happen in real life! I'm a nurse, so I know just how serious Epilepsy could be. I have personally witnessed attacks like this before and it's not pretty. Now, for this book to describe just how the family truly cared for Caleb (the boy with this illness)? Let's just say it touched my heart big time.

Another book that makes me feel like I should treasure the life that I've been given!
To be very honest, I had little expectation from this book. I just wanted to read a good book that will make me feel better. I've been ill these past few weeks, so I just wanted to relax and go hide inside a romantic book. I also confess that I read this because of the hot guy in the cover, which if I may say so, is the perfect CREW!! Anyway, with that shallow reason... I got to discover a book that will surely touch your heart.
Crew is a character that you'd want your daughter to date and it's not just because he's handsome and hot and all that girly definition of a man. It's because he's responsible, he puts the other person's needs before him, he thinks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders, he is the perfect combination of alpha and husband material. But of course, he ain't perfect. Crew has his moments of umm.. well.. hot headedness. However, being the forgiving reader that I am, I always forgive him. How he interacts with his family definitely makes up for his lack of social skills sometimes. :)
Now on the other hand.. we have the selfless and truly kind Hudson. Such a beautiful character! I imagined her as a good kind of girl, very pretty inside and out. She's a helper, a fixer and a natural born nurturer. She finds herself head over heels with Crew and off they go on a roller coaster of emotions. I can't imagine living a life like hers. She's actually more free than many other characters I come across. Her family is one of a kind. There are so many of them and all of them look promising. Anyway, she's just someone you'd want your son to hold on to forever. A good kind of woman who's smart and who could also be fun. :)
The story here revolves around their interaction with each others' families. It's their sense of responsibility that will make you love them both. What I love about this too is that the people around them, the parents, the siblings, even the right kind of friends are monumental to building their kind of a relationship. They helped these two characters grow and they made things easy for them and that's a big thing because when you read this, you'll see just how serious life can be.
Watch them get together, stay together, break apart and find each other once again. :)

They're just... MFEO! MADE FOR EACH OTHER. ^_^ Now you might think that I'm just romanticizing their story, but no. They're truly a romantic pair!!
ARDIS, my darling mercenary, is a kickass girl who's known for her ruthlessness in battle. She ran from her past and is currently living with lots of blood in her hands, obviously because of her profession. She meets, ahem, MY WENDEL, who in so many ways, is a gentleman. However, she didn't start out knowing him like that. She thought he was something to be disgusted with, being a necromancer and all that. I'm just so glad that Wendel proved him wrong!
Wendel, Wendel, Wendel... Where do I even start?
MY Wendel is hot. Not just hot, but also dashing, charming, handsome in a refined way. He's such a catch and yes, HE'S MIINNEEE. #fangirlalert
Now that that's out of the way...
Wendel is the kind of hero that is vulnerable on the inside, but all charming and badass on the outside. He maybe your unconventional guy, but he is sweet most of the time. I like how he interacts with Ardis, like she's really a fine woman and not just a mercenary. I like how he took his oath seriously and I like how he was able to keep all of his promises to Ardis. Wendel might be such a mystery, but there's no deying that he's totally head over heels with Ardis and boy, he's not afraid of expressing it!
Our heroine on the other hand, isn't the same. With her past clouding her present, she has a lot of baggage that she holds on to. The twist here even made her life more complicated, so i forgive her for not being so expressive. However, she is truly loyal. I give you that.
I honestly thought that this book won't be so romantic. I was wrong and I was shocked because man... that ending! Okay okaayyy..
YOU JUST HAVE TO READ IT!!!

Okay... So what is this story all about?
It's all about a twelve year old girl named Althea. In many ways, she's just like a normal girl. She likes simple things like eating, running, having a safe place to sleep, having a family, making her sister brush her hair, talking to nice animals.. things like that. However, in some ways, she's entirely different. You see, Althea has powers. Powers that almost everybody wants to possess and because of that, she is always the hunted. Despite being so kind, she is often tricked, abused and just plain captured. Once she's free... she goes through so many adventures, if you can call them that. She meets so many people that I even thought I would see lots of them again in the end, considering that this book is quite long, but no. The other characters that she meets are with her forever, but some just pass by. One person in particular kept her going. Den. You'd think it's puppy love, what with their ages, but the way I read it... They have a great potential as a couple. :) Looking forward to that! Den is my first fave /other/ character, the second is Shepherd, third would be Karina. Both of the latter characters will have great impacts on Althea's life... but I won't say how. READ IT! ^_^
What I like most about Althea's character is not her ability to influence the mind of other people... instead, I love her ability to always, always, think of the good in them first. It may sound naive, but that's what I like about her. The fact that she is hunted over and over again, but she stays true to her belief that life is precious is actually a gift all on its own.
The plot is very, very, very unique in my opinion. It's set in so many places and so many kinds of people are in it too, so boredom will be a thing of the past for readers. In line with that, I can definitely say that the author can make you imagine what he wants you to see. He's so good at creating a world full of... all things different! I swear! It's amazing how such mismatched places could exist in only one world. You'll feel the need to go back to the stone age then move forward up to the most technological future world that you can think of. It's full of action. One minute she's captured, the next she has escaped and you have to go back to review what happened! Who helped her? What did she do? Gosh! This book needs your focus because every detail counts! This book will be loved by many! I hope it becomes a movie!!!

I promise you, people notice and there are people who care enough to do something.
I swear this book is a roller coaster of emotions. I know it sounds cliche, but that's just how it is. Thomas is just a guy that you can't help but love, feel sorry for, want to take care of, hug and never let go of.
Let me start with describing MY THOMAS. *sigh* What can I say? He's imperfect. When this book started, I knew right then and there, he's wan ass. He was uncontrollable. He was kind of violent, and also kind of manipulative. He has many personas. He could be charming, sweet and disarming one minute then violent the next! He also has this weird side. His smart side. I say weird because when you read about him, the way he orders people around and the way he thinks he's the king of the school, you'd think he must not be that smart.. but nope, not him. He's asshole and genius all rolled into one. I say genius because he really is. He's good at academics, really good at literature and damn good at art!
I was intrigued by his character and a little angry about his actions...
Until I met his DAD. My anger, frustration, the want to bash someone with my e-reader? They were all focused on him and him alone. I swear. Everything that he did in this book, I wanted to somehow go inside the book, hunt him down, then burn him alive! That's how much I hate him!

Needless to say, I forgave everything that Thomas did at first because of his upbringing. There really wasn't anything to be proud about when it comes to his home life. It was just a wreck. I wanted to hug him, hell I even cried for him many times! He needed someone to save him from all that, someone who will truly care enough and someone who will stay.
That's where Nicole comes to the picture.
What can I say about Nicole? She also isn't perfect. She has a temper on her. She's sassy, sporty, has a smart mouth on her too and the way Thomas describes her, she must be oh so pretty. :) I love Nicole's attitude towards Thomas and his many personas. It's like she knows how to deal with each one of them, albeit, she had a hard time at first. I love that she stuck around. I love how she just makes everything more comfortable with him and I love just how Thomas can be himself and open up to her. I just love her for him.
The other characters are also here to make the story more real to me. For example, Nicole's dad. There are bad dads, but there are also awesome dads. One of them is Nicole's. I love how Greg can be serious one time, then all hilarious the next. I love it that he didn't let Thomas' psat reputation bother him. I'm so happy that he understands where Thomas is coming from. In end, he's one of the rocks that Thomas held on so that means a lot. He means a lot to this book! :) There are also other characters who stayed and truly wanted to help. That's amazing. It goes to show that even fictionally, people are inherently good. There are just some bad apples.
The book revolves around Thomas and his dad's want for him to be a pro soccer play. Does he want that though? To be honest, I don't know if he really knew what he wanted here -- not until the end that is because by that time, all he wanted was to be with Nicole. Haha! So there. Read and see just how far his dad will take his frustrations out on him.
It also revolves around Thomas figuring out his purpose in life. I know, I know, it's hard to know your purpose when you're just 18. However, he needed it. He needed to know that there's more to life than... well, his life at present. He needed to figure out his worth and his role in other people's lives.
Here are the questions that will be answered in this book:
✔Just how much can a boy be tortured and not fight back? ✔Just how much can he take? ✔Who will help the boy who brought the facade that he didn't need help all his life?
I'm telling you now, this book has growth. I feel like I've known Thomas' character all his life after reading this. Again, I'm saying that you'll feel so many emotions for him and with him.
Oh and while you're reading this, I advise that you remember... Everything can change in just a blink of an eye... and changes? They're not all that bad. :)

Soooo, after re-reading my favorite parts of this book for like 5 times or more, it's just now that I'm editing this review. I think I can do it justice now. :)
Okay.. so Joker and Carissa... JOKER AND CARISSA!
They're KA's sweethearts! Fine, so they might have not known it when they were younger... but they truly are.. SWEETHEARTS!!! :)
Just a little background about them:
JOKER - He didn't have the best childhood. In fact, he mostly took care of himself. What's ironic is that He's DAMN SMART. Yes people, HE IS DAMN SMART!!! I love that about him! He's also responsible, he doesn't do things halfway. I love that even when he was a kid, he already had a one track mind.. Like saying: "This is what I'll do and this is where I'll be." .. but the thing that I love most is that HE NEVER FORGETS. :) He looks back and he appreciates. That's the best thing about him! I must admit, I cried for him many, many times in this book. There's just something about Joker's situation - past or present that makes me want to hug him all the time.
Now for my best girl CARISSA - Heh, lady, lemme just say that I know you had the hots for Joker from the start! FROM THE FRIKKIN START! ;) Anyway, my dear Carissa is a very caring woman who has no judgmental bone in her body. She's everything I want to be in a mom and everything I would like to be when I become one. She's kind and nor opposed to doing anything for the people she loves. She also made me very, very emotional. Her will to fight for her son is just... admirable. :)
Needless to say, I think they are perfect for each other. The problem is, they didn't know it at first. That's what y'all should look forward to. It's awesome how people don't see what's in front of them until it hits them hard. However, when it does... It's an awesome ride. :)
How hard could it be for the two of them? Carissa, a single mom struggling financially and emotionally... Joker, a biker with amazing talents, but too many secrets... Yeah, I guess it's hard huh? BUT THEY MADE IT WORK. AND OH MAN.. IT'S SWEET
I daresay Joker is my number 2 biker now. Sorry, but Tack is still number 1. ;)
Joker is amazing with Carissa's boy. He's just... AHHHH-MAZINGGG!! Soooo adorable! You should also look forward to that!!! ^___^
These two characters face the conflicts apart and then together. It's just plain beautiful. . .and HOT! Mind you, there were lots of trials for them, but they had a great support group. Yep - bikers.. Sooo everything went alright in the end. I love Tack's participation in this book. He's just THE MAN. A wonderful role model for Joker. That ending is unforgettable. Just.. *sigh*

I must admit, I expected Kane to be a man of zero to few words. What I didn't expect is for Kane to be so caring, so sweet, so humble (okay, okay.. at times) and so family oriented. I thought he's the silent type who bears the weight of the world... but nooo.. Kane talks.. A LOT. And when he talks, PEOPLE SHOULD LISTEN. I think that's the best thing about him. :)

I like Aideen because she's a woman who can bend to the new things in her life. I like that she doesn't take Kane's or anybody else's crap. I like that she has her own mind and that she wants to be responsible for herself, but also knows when she should accept help from other people. I like how she cares about people. She cares deeply and she cares with a vengeance. I like how she interacts with her family. Having four brothers must be so hard for her, but she breezes through every single one of them. Must be nice being a princess in the family, eh Ado? ;) Now what I LOVE about Aideen is her kindness towards Kane even from the start. There's something there. Underneath all the bullshit that is her saying that she's pissed at him or whatever. She was focused on him from the start and never let him down til the end. I love it.
I love them.
The other characters in this series definitely add an extra OOMPH to this book! I just love how they go to being serious one minute then laughing their assess off the next! It's still the unique quality of this series! All of these characters have the ability to knock your sad faces off! ;)
Aideen and Kane (and everyone else in the gang, really) embark in a new chapter in this series. They learn the value of sharing, caring and everything else in between. Someone from the past tries to steal their happy bubble, but as I expected... the brothers are all prepared for battle. Nobody hurts their women! There's romance, action, comedy and mystery.. What else are you looking for?? READ IT NOW!!

It's not your typical romance book wherein the meet, they get to know each other then bam! Connection! Sparks fly! Yay! LOVE!

They almost drown, they meet, they piss off one another, they tolerate each other, lust after each other they fight, they get exhausted, fight some more, learn to tolerate each other more, FISHES FLY!, Vget to know one another by talking, lust after each other more, BIRDS FLY!, get to know each other more from talking, lust some more, become a team, fight for their survival, FINALLY GIVE IN TO THE SPARK, survive and try to be stable
Yeah, that's mostly it.
Raine and Bastian meet in a dangerous scenario. They learn how to fight for their survival as they also learn about one another. However, while doing that, they also learn that something connects them. I honestly didn't see that coming and I still don't know how I feel about that even though it's been weeks since I read this. I would have to read the next book to clarify how I feel about their past. Anyway, I'd like to focus on their present predicament.

The way they interact with one another is just... GOLDEN! I love how Raine doesn't take Bastian's shit and the way Bastian treats Raine, like she's fragile. No matter how you look at it, there's a certain sweetness in how they talk to each other. I love it. I love how a big bad male like Bastian can be put to his knees by a small woman like Raine. :)

Let's just say that it's all about a pre historic man who finds himself a mate who's from a very modern time. He teaches her all about his world while she teaches him some things that she can from the modern times. It's as awesome as it's heartfelt.
I love how they slowly cared for each other. It wasn't something forced and it wasn't super fast. They slowly gained the trust and love of each other. Even with their differences and language barrier, they got to a point wherein they were patient with each other and tried hard to understand the other. They slowly but surely built a family for themselves and it's just plain beautiful. I also love that the author showed just how brutal the life conditions in the past could be. It made me appreciate what we have now and it made me thank a lot of people before me for bringing this kind of life TODAY.
I also have to say.. with all the seriousness of this book, it's also sweet AND DAMN HILARIOUS. There were just so many times wherein I laughed so hard with both of their reactions to one another. All I can say is, laughter cures everything, even the trauma of being transported to another time/world. :)
I had complete faith that the author will give me a beautiful ending and that's what I had. It's damn beautiful!!! I wanted to read the book again right away!!
Ahhh.. It's so hard to describe everything that I've read. I'm afraid I'm not coherent enough. All I know is that this is a must read. It's unique, it's brutal, it's enticing, it's hot, it'll teach you many things and you'll feel an array of emotions. It's worth everything!

This book is not at all what I expected it to be. I expected the corny kind of love story between a woman from Earth and an alien. I expected this to have a lot of fast, ummm.. intimate scenes too. However, this book proved me wrong.
Grim may be a big badass king alien with all of his might and power, but he's vulnerable. He accepted a long time ago that he isn't fit to have a partner. He isn't fit to have children. He has long since accepted that he's the last of his line. I pity him because when he looks at himself, all he kind of sees is a failure. A badass still, but a miserable badass that is.
Until he comes across Lisa, a single mom with a one track mind when it comes to her children.
Lisa is from Earth. Life didn't go the way she wanted, but she soldiered on because of her children. If you ask me, Lisa is a badass in her own special way too. She endured it all.... Ugh, I can't say what she endured for it will give out big chunks of info.. SPOILERRRSSS.. Soooo yeah, you'll just have to trust me. I promise you that she endured something really awful and it takes a lot of courage to continue living like that.
It's fully explained how she was able to adapt right away to Grim's way of life. It's pretty impressive and amazing how she integrated herself in that situation as well as the kids. Well, no surprise with the kids. Kids are usually resilient. They were all so sweet to Grim that I was touched every time they address Grim.
Their love story isn't your everyday romance. It's even more special because Lisa is the one teaching Grim about the ins and outs. I had fun reading about Grim's slip ups and how fascinated he is with Lisa's Earthly quirks. It was fun as it was also heartfelt. :) They also had an explosive romance! Hah! You have to look forward to it!
What makes this book stand out too is the fact that men in this book AREN'T ALLOWED TO BE @$$#%2*8 TO WOMEN.It's strictly forbidden because women are scarce (AND I MEAN SCARCE) already. They have to treat their women as the treasure they truly are. However, in doing so, they gave too much power in their women that they don't know how to appreciate what they're given anymore. In this book, Lisa and the others will start changing their perspectives regarding the roles of women in contrast to that of a man.
All in all, this is an amazing book with lots of life and family lessons to learn. ;) Hot and explosive too! What more can you ask for? ...more

Puck and Becca sure had it rough.. but that's how they got together. Something happens that changes both of their lives. It changes them and connects them at the same time. I think the right word for them after that is "suspended". Their life gets suspended and then restarts five years later...
And oh... restarting never seemed so good. :)
Puck is you man's man. A real man in every way. He lives and breathes his motorcycle club. He'll do anything and everything for his club and in all fairness to his MC, the Silver Bastards, they're far more decent compared to other MCs. He's a reliable, loyal and protective. Personally, I think she's just what Becca needs.
Becca is a girl who've known the dirty life since she was so very young. She didn't come from a decent family, but she wants something more for her future. She works hard, does her best in school and even loves her foster family. She also has a nice set of friends. I like it that she stands up for herself. I like it that she is unafraid of saying how she feels. I think the only disadvantage that I see in her character is that she cares too much about her mom. Yeah, I know it's a standard thing to care for our moms, however, if the said mom constantly lies, cons us and breaks us to pieces... I think it's safe to say that it's unhealthy to care.
So.. a little recap, we have a man's man and a girl who stands up for herself. What does that show us?
It's a catastrophe!! Such a beautiful catastrophe!

They collide again and OOHLALA... it's an explosion! I can't say sparks because it's a total understatement. They're totally hot together and ohmy, they can be really, really, really sweet to each other!! I like how their history molded the right fit of a relationship. I love how the author was able to create such unique characters with definite sets of characteristics. It's awesome! They stand by their unique wants, needs, likes and dislikes. It's deliciously amazing when two people clash like this. A MUST READ!
You won't only like the pairing, you would love the story altogether! There's just something about motorcycle clubs. That mysterious, dangerous but one hell of a camaraderie vibe is indeed something that would entice everyone. I am sooo in love and this is just the first in a new series! Effin amazing!

I shall try to break it down without giving out big spoilers. . .
The characters are more mature now.
Rimmel had gone from being a nerd who hides efficiently behind her clothes and big glasses to being a proud girlfriend who tells everyone how awesome her guy is.
*imaginary* Rimmel would like to borrow a line from Taylor Swift's song and turn it into Rim's song for Romeo--> 'cause you know I love this PLAYER... and he LOVES the GAME!!!
Seriously, she's so supportive! The number one cheerleader! I also love it that in this book, our Rimmel didn't back down. She has a good, sturdy backbone now. It also helps that Romeo is always there for her. He's the reassuring soul all the way for Rim.
Romeo on the other hand is everything you'll ever hope for a guy his age and then some more. He's something, I tell you that. When this series started, I thought he was just a jock. Oh man, if you can just see his transition from that jock to a guy who puts everything about him second to everything about Rim? You'd love him to pieces! I am so, so sure that you will love him here.
I think I've already said this about their relationship, but I'd like to reiterate it... THIS IS A STRONG PAIR. Nothing, and I mean nothing can separate them. The best thing about them is that they kept being together no matter what happened and mind you.. there are so many things that could have ruined them! But no kiddos, this pair can stand the tests! They are adamant not to let other things spoil what they made for themselves. Especially Romeo. That guy. MYGAWD, he's always there to save the day, always there to make things better, always there to have an easy or not so easy way out.
It's just plain perfect. I can't say anything bad. I just love it!
If you ask me about the secondary characters... I would definitely describe them as... EFFECTIVE. I really got angry with Rim's dad, then I also go angry with that psycho Zach. On the other hand, I love, love, love Braeden. I can't wait for him to have his own book! If I already love him now and it's still not his book..... what more when I'm already holding his story in my hands? GOSH! I also love the other two girls because they're awesome girlfriends. Needless to say, I really want everyone to have their own books! *BATS EYELASHES TO THE AUTHOR* ^_______^

We already know Ally, right? She was young and so nice to our Molly and her cousin, Rome. I love her character because she's loyal and such an interesting person to be around with. Well... She's all grown up now and she certainly made something out of her own will without using the family name. Needless to say, she is something that guys would really want to date! :) I love her!

All I can say about him is he's everything you never thought he'd be!
I love him. I cried fugly tears for him and I will forever remember his character. He left a mark in my heart. A really, really big one.

The story picks up to where the first book stops. The first book ends with what could be a relief-giving scene, so this one starts on that note. Even though they were suspicious, our characters are taken somewhere else wherein they were told to be safer. Little did they know that the biggest challenge hasn't happened yet.
The teens are told about their situation. How they are about to fight for their home and that time is of the essence. Then the challenges begin. Our characters are put to tests, training, even simulations to fight of the enemy. It was very intriguing to read about teens from different countries interact with one another. There were less than pleasing scenes, teens clash, but I guess in real life, these things really happen... The difference is, in this book, everyone wants to be the best, but everyone's also scared to be the best. I liked reading about how they put aside their differences to ultimately do what should be done.
Shane has grown a lot from book 1 to this. I would definitely say that he's more badass that how he was in book 1. What happens when you thought you could already let go of all of the responsibilities tucked under you ... but wait.. NO, IT'S STILL THERE AND YOU HAVE TO CONTINUE. Shane shoulders on! He goes through one thing and another just to help keep everyone safe. I love it that his head is always all about their safety. It's so damn admirable.
Shane is a sure thing. I've read about him fighting mentally and physically. KELLY, however.... IS A DAMN BIG SURPRISE. Watch out for this girl! She won me over with her skills! I also can't believe that I'm starting to like Steve. He's such a big macho man. I like his determination together with his concern and humor. The others are also very good companions and comrades. I felt really scared while reading this because I'm kind of attached to everyone and I just know it would be so sad for me if one of them dies. :S
Ahhh!! this book is just... a revelation. Hold on tight people!!! These teens will definitely rock your world! They're amazing survivors and I know, I just know that they will continue surviving!!! They're badasses!!!!
The ending literally made me shout OHMYGOSH!!! It leaves something for all readers to look forward to. The thrill, the wait and all my theories... I know it'll all be worth it when the third book comes!
If you want to read a book with action, uniquely woven plot, mystery and of course.. thrill.. This one's for you!

What I love about Kristen Ashley is that whenever I pick up a new book from her, I never know what I'm going to get. I didn't read SOARING's blurb before I read it. KA is just one of those authors wherein I never have to read blurbs. I just know in my heart, I'm going to love the story and characters. Amy's story is not perfect. In fact, at one point in time, she was really imperfect. This is all about her trying her best to make the imperfect, perfect. :)
Amy had a good life. A husband she thought she loved and loved her back. Children whom she dedicated her life to. Money wasn't a problem. Then a blow strucks and she... Well, she lost control of herself and acted out. Literally acted out. She's left without a family, but just like any other loving mom, she follows them to an entirely new place and tries to piece them back together again. That's where this story starts.
She meets Mickey, the hot fire fighter guy with somewhat the same situation as her. They actually have a fun start of friendship... but then something happens that makes them fall apart before they even started. And so begins their hilarious banters and the amazing push and pull of these characters. What's so good about this part is the anticipation. You'll look forward to them being together because you know sparks are already flying when they're not even together yet! Just imagine how beautiful it would be once they got together.. Ah, pure bliss!
One must say that they got the love part down to a T. However... This book is not just about that. It's about other profound topics too. It's about family, the ups and downs of divorce, the effects of that to the kids... It's also about bullying. Just read it! You'll see what I'm talking about. Only Kristen Ashley breezes through many life topics and knit it beautifully in one package.
So what did I love best about this book? I would say that it's definitely AMY's character. Kristen Ashley has this amazing power of bringing characters into redemption. Amy was so lost and devastated in the past that it made her do ugly things ( which, I think is still justifiable all things considered). When she realized her mistakes, she started making up for everything. She knew that she had to be the one to reach out. She tried and tried to make things better even when it hurt her. I was hurting for her character, but I was hoping for the best. I am so glad that she got what she really worked hard for. It's a true measure of a person when she fights on no matter how hurt she feels. So yeah, Amy is one of my top KA heroines. She awesome! :)
