Fake dating, single dad, age gap, grump/sunshine, workplace, friends to lovers, and pining!? Seriously, I'm obsessed. Farley and Meyer have been friends for a few years ever since Farley ran into Meyer at his daughter's birthday party. Meyer ended up becoming Farley's manager and they've been friends ever since. Farley has the chance to go on tour with two other amazing female comedians, but they want to drum up interest and excitement in the tour, and what's more exciting than their dating lives? They propose Farley and Meyer fake date, so they agree.
I really loved the flashbacks and how they were so strategically placed throughout the story. Farley and Meyer both have been dancing around feelings for each other, and we get to see scenes where things were so close to being something but never really crossed that line. And I loved how Meyer was kind of pining the whole time for Farley and his character was just THE BEST. And Farley's character was so refreshing and fun. Her job as a comedian was so unique and I loved her relationship with Meyer's daughter. She was deaf and Farley already knew ASL, and I loved watching them interact. This is definitely a new favorite book of the year and I couldn't recommend it enough!! ...more

This was so cute! It's a traveling romance and we explore the friends to lovers relationship between Molly and Andrew. They've spent the last 10 years (I think?) flying home to Ireland every Christmas. Throughout the book, we get flashbacks to various flights and when things started to feel more for each other them (I love a hero who falls first!!). This time, there's a huge snowstorm and their flight is canceled. Molly is determined to get Andrew home for Christmas, so they go on a whirlwind journey to Ireland and fall in love along the way. I love how this book was told with flashbacks to the different flights they've shared and how Andrew was falling for Molly the whole time. Their journey was full of shenanigans and fun side characters and I just had so much fun reading this! I do think the ending dragged a bit because there were about 100 pages left and I had no idea what else could happen. But the romance was so adorable and the characters were all so charming and fun. I highly recommend picking this one up during the holidays! ...more

If you want a light Christmas romance (most was during November and December at a Christmas tree farm, but no actual Christmas going on), this is perfect for you. I loved the relationship between Stella and Luka so much. They have been friends for ten years and their relationship was just so sweet and endearing. In order to get her farm featured by a social media influencer, Stella lies and says she owns the farm with her boyfriend. A boyfriend she doesn't have. So she turns to Luka to be her pretend boyfriend. They fall so easily into an intimate relationship and I was just swooning over Luka! I love how he was smitten with Stella and he wasn't the one afraid to commit. I do wish we got the storyline with the social media influencer a bit more since that's what the story was leading up to since the beginning, but I think this was such a cute friends to lovers, fake dating romance! This will definitely put you in the holiday mood and it was just too cute!...more

This was such a good new adult romance! This is a roommates romance where the heroine is actually the basketball coach's daughter and the hero is on the basketball team. Cole was SUCH a sweet hero and I loved the friendship that bloomed between Cole and Zoey. This was definitely a friends to lovers romance and it was fun watching Zoey be friends with Cole and his friends, especially Teddy. This has a great cast of characters and it just makes me more excited to continue on in the series and see these characters more! Since this is a coach's daughter romance, I did expect it to be much more taboo and forbidden, but it barely was. This was much more sweet, which I still loved. ...more

This book was so much more angsty than I thought it was going to be! Isabel and Hunter are happily married, and they've always had their best friend Drake by their side. Recently, though, Drake hasn't felt as fulfilled with his life and Hunter has started having a fantasy. A fantasy of Isabel and Drake get together. When the three go on a road trip to check out a bunch of clubs similar to their own, things start heating up between the three of them. While it sounds like a spicy time, this was actually really emotional and deep, especially when it came to Hunter and Drake. Hunter has some serious scars from his past, especially with his father, and that's why he's so reluctant to explore his sexuality as an adult. He has always been attracted to Drake, but he doesn't know if he can accept that part of himself. Since there were three of them, I wasn't sure how the balance of their relationship would work, but I ended really enjoying their individual relationships and how they all ended up working together. Things got tough at the end and each pairing had to figure things out before the three of them could be happy together. I do with we got a little more from Isabel as a character, but overall I really enjoyed this one! ...more

I'm honestly obsessed with this entire series and I think I gave every one five stars. This one has the sweetest hero ever and I just was obsessed. Ryan is a professional hockey player and all around good guy. He meets Zoey in a cafe and she helps him out with her taxes. Zoey freaks out that she's late, so he gives her a ride to a church she needs to go to. He quickly realizes that Zoey is homeless and missed the cutoff to stay at a shelter for the night. Ryan offers for Zoey to stay with him and the two strike up a friendship, even though Zoey finds it hard to accept help from anyone. The relationship between Zoey and Ryan was so sweet and I just loved how close they grew to one another. Ryan never saw Zoey as a burden and he just wanted the best for her. Zoey was such a strong heroine and I loved her journey of getting on her feet while trying to ignore her feelings for Ryan. Her story was so heartbreaking and I just wanted her to be happy and find her HEA with Ryan. Every book in this series does have a suspense aspect where there's a villain, which I actually like! The plot gets a little intense and I'm kept on my toes. I absolutely adored this book and couldn't recommend this series enough!! ...more

This was a super cute small town romance! Definitely low angst, so I wanted just a little more angst between them. Instead of any conflict in the actual relationship at the end, the conflict was having to do with people in the hero's past. But I loved the friendships in this book and how protective Vivi's sisters were over her. Niko was also a really great hero. I loved how he took care of his younger sister and her daughter, even if it meant making sacrifices himself. He's someone who loves to take care of and protect people. When Vivi's long-time boyfriend cheats on her, she wants to have a fling and knows Niko would treat her right. I liked how it was actually the heroine pursuing a fling and it was fun watching Niko slowly break down. We did have some drama with her ex and someone else who was interested in the hero, but other than that, not too much drama in the relationship. It was just a super sweet small town and friends to lovers romance. I'm excited to try out more from this author! ...more

I love a brooding hero who is angry at the world. Also, when the girl is his best friend's girlfriend? Bring on the angst!! From the beginning, Mascen treats Rory horribly. Rory and Mascen were best friends when they were little, but after Rory's family falls apart, her family moves and Rory is basically left to fend for herself. Now, she's doing her best to do well in college and make new friends. I really loved her relationship with her roommates and how different they all were from each other. They were fun and I loved how they helped her out when it came to dating and going out, especially since she hasn't had the time to let loose and have fun. Mascen is immediately hard on her when he realizes who she is, but Rory really connects with his best friend. This became super angsty because Mascen starts falling for Rory, even though she's completely off limits. I really loved how they reconnected and started falling for each other again. Mascen also had to confront his relationship with his rock star dad, which I enjoyed as a side plot. Even though this is technically a bully romance, Rory never let Macsen push her around and she stood up to him when he was being mean. I really loved her character and seeing what she came from. I'm excited to move on to book two and read Cole's story! ...more

I was nervous going into this one because I don't read a lot of rom coms and sometimes Amy's books just aren't my vibe. But I trusted some friends' recommendations and I'm so happy I did! I really loved Freya's character and how sweet her friendship with Mac, who is a big Scottish soccer player. When he learns that Freya is a virgin, I was swooning that he wanted to teach her and take care of her before she found someone she wanted to be with. Of course, they start to actually grow feelings. This book is so fun and definitely has a charm to it, but it does turn really serious when someone close to Mac is sick and he gives up everything to be there for that person. But I really loved how protective Mac was of Freya and just how well they clicked. I loved that Freya was plus sized and was trying to put herself out there now that she is almost 30 and wanting to find her forever person like all of her friends are. It was so fun seeing the side characters from Amy's other series because I love a big cast of fun characters. I'm just so happy I enjoyed this one and I'm excited to read more in the series! ...more

Now they're in college and dating other people, but that doesn't stop them from hooking up. The night Everett finally admits he wants to try a real relationship with Leighton, he betrays her and has to win her back. This reminded me a lot of the show Greek with how dramatic everything was and how messy these characters were. As usual, there was plenty of spice, but the story overall was my least favorite of the series. ...more

This felt like it was the set up for their actual story that we get in book two. Grace and Asher were best friends growing up. Now, they're home from college for the summer and Asher decides he's going to pursue Grace and that they're meant to be. As soon as he decides this, Grace agrees and already planning their forever future together. The pacing of this book was off for me, so it felt very insta-love and we skip over them dating each other. Suddenly, they're madly in love. Then, we get to the end were drama FINALLY happens and then it ends on a cliffhanger. There were no real obstacles in their romance until the end and I was mostly bored. It felt like the only purpose of this book was to give backstory, and I could care less about backstory. I would have just skipped to book two if I had know that was where the real struggle and build up of the romance is. There was no struggle in this book. It rushed through a romance just so ...more

I love this series so much, and I knew this novella about the father and his dead wife was going to make me emotional. I loved watching them first meet as children. It's a childhood friends to lovers and social class difference romance and it was perfect. One of the best novellas I've ever read. They are obviously in love, but both of them know they can never be together. Marsden decides to invite her to the Christmas ball as a gift to Linnie and they spend a magical night together. He promised his mother, though, that he would court someone of her choice if she invited Linnie. There was so much pining and angst and I loved it. Then, of course there's heartbreak and the foreshadowing in this book broke me. Ughhhhhh I didn't want the ending to happen even though I know what it is since I read the series already. I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first one because I loved our characters and their chemistry together. Fox was such an interesting character and there was a lot fleshed out about his past and how he's always been known as a womanizer and a playboy. His relationship with Hannah was sweet and I loved how they were friends over text first. Hannah had a huge crush on someone at work, though, so there was a bit fake dating in here, which was fun! I love an angsty romance that takes years to develop, and that's exactly the case with this one. River is adopted when she's 13 after being in very bad homes growing up. Rhett is her adoptive brother's best friend and immediately feels protective of her, but nothing happens while they're growing up. The two dance around their feelings for each other for years until, ten years later, they cross a line. Now they have to confront their feelings and the hurt they've caused themselves and others. While there is cheating in here, I could see why it happened and understood why Rhett found it so hard to go all in with River. River is still trying to cope with her trauma and live life and let people in, even years after she's adopted and found her place with a loving family. I also usually don't like a jealous ex, but the one in here made sense and I could definitely see her side of things. Like I said, this is an angsty romance, which I loved. My only complaint, though, is that we get a scene in the prologue of River and Rhett crossing a line together and then jump back ten years to the beginning of their story. When we catch up to that scene in the present about 50-60% into the book, though, it's completely skipped over and I feel like it was an important scene that needed to be developed and shown. So the pacing could have used some work, but other than that, this was definitely a good read! ...more

Ruthie is kind of stuck in a rut in her life and Teddy pushes her to take chances and think about what her true dreams are. Is she really happy or is she just content and scared to make any changes in her life?
The two residents that Teddy ended working for were amazing and I swear that all of the main characters were just so lovable. But oh my gosh, I was so addicted to this romance and this story! This book was so action packed and I loved how fast-paced the plot was. This takes place at a college for mafia children and each grade level is competing as a team in this tournament and there are three rounds throughout the school year. I loved these games and seeing the characters get so competitive and obsessed with winning. This was interwoven with the romance, which was so angsty and I loved it. Leo and Anna have been in each other's lives since they were born and raised as cousins, even though they're not blood related. They've been looking at each other in a new light recently, though, and know that going away to school together could finally take their relationship to the next level. I loved their friends to lovers romance and I didn't mind how long it took them to get together. They had some growth to do individually and they also had to deal with Dean, who became obsessed with Anna at school. I'm not sure I necessarily loved having all three POVs (Leo, Anna, and Dean), but it definitely made me not a fan of Dean...at all. So now I'm scared for his book. BUT this book was just amazing and left me amazed when I finished. Definitely a new favorite from Sophie Lark! ...more

I don't know what was wrong with me, but it took me a good 100 pages to really get invested in this story. I was stuck on the first 100 pages for almost three days, but after that, I really appreciated the build up of the beginning and the development of Maryann and Nicolas's relationship. Nicolas is a rake and Maryann is trying to get out of a horrible engagement. When rumors come out that Nicolas was climbing out of a woman's window, Maryann starts a rumor that it was hers. Nicolas is intrigued by Maryann, but he's currently trying to ruin the men who took his best friend from him when he was younger. If anyone knew that he had feelings for Maryann, things could go very wrong and she could be in danger. The development of this romance was everything and I loved how it was slow and how Nicolas and Maryann were truly friends first. It was so sweet! Then, the last 100 pages were definitely a wild ride and I had no idea how things were going to end! I thought Maryann's relationship with her brother was very interesting and how his own plot line carried out. Aside from a slow start, I loved everything about this book!...more

Michael is EVERYTHING. I love a romance where the guy is pining over the girl and cannot get over her. In this one, Michael is in love with his cousin's wife. TALK ABOUT ANGST. When his cousin dies, Michael goes off to India and doesn't come back for four years.
I really loved how Francesca was genuinely in love with her husband and had never seen Michael in a romantic way until he came back from India and was in her life again. She had always known that Michael was a rake, but as soon as he was back looking for a wife and she decided that she was ready to remarry, the tension between those two was amazing! I could not get enough of their romance and banter and friendship.
