In one hand, the author delivered some heartache and angst through the struggles of Adam, Kendall and Leo. On the other hand, I failed to connect with the core message of the story.
Kendall got married to her boyfriend Adam after becoming pregnant but she delivers a stillborn. It starts the long and hard battle with depression and grief. While Adam tries his best, Kendall seems to be struggling. She gets a new job as linguist instructor in the local SEAL point where she is reunited with Leo Callaway, her old friend and crush from her home town. She still has very strong feelings for him but what will happen to her marriage? Accidents after accidents tear their lives.
So I don't have any issue with a cheating trope. But I need to have a good reason for the cheating. Kendall is the one who pushed for marriage but after the tragic loss of their baby, she cut Adam emotionally from her life. She disassociated from the marriage. I would have understood if Adam was a bad guy. He is grieving too and he is trying his best to salvage the marriage. But Kendall gave up long ago and the worse is she didn't cut him to let him live again. It took Leo's reappearing to stir things. There is a grey part about her and Leo's history so I had a hard time understanding how they had this instant chemistry and emotional pull. Again, Leo is a good guy too. He is a SEAL. He has a moral compass. He couldn't open up about his feels or act on his attraction till their divorce was final. Kendall has two amazing men in her life but she came across as really indecisive and sometimes, inconsiderate. Even her heartbreak couldn't make me empathize about her. A lot of things were happening and distracting me.
I loved Leo and Adam but I failed to love Kendall. So the romance felt flat while the story had great potential....more

Bad boy star of country music meets his match in a sassy chef who demolishes his walls and made him feel alive again. Rye and Tory's story was heartaching and sexy and slow burn perfection. The author brought so many kinds of intense emotions in the pages and through the characters. I couldn't stop once I started.
Rye Crenshaw was abandoned by his rich and traditional Southern family for choosing music as his career. He has his issues and scars. He is angry and bitter about his family but music is his life and he plays the role of the perfect bad boy of country music. He meets Tory is a nondescript diner and he is immediately impressed by her fire and her cooking. He offers her the job of his personal chef on his ongoing Tour and Tory has to accept it because she has a lot of financial responsibility for family even when Rye's personality wasn't exactly charming to her. But is she just a PR plan to recover Rye's recently damaged image? The lines get blurred when he insists that she has to accompany him to a trip to his hometown because his sick father wants reconciliation. Tory sees the different sides of Rye in middle of the grossly dysfunctional family dynamics but is Rye ready to accept their connection anything other than temporary?
Rye is a perfect book boyfriend with so many facets. The world sees the c0cky volatile arrogant personality. They see the tortured musician. They don't see his pain and his darkness. Tory didn't see his real sides initially but as they spent time together in the tour bus and later in home town, she came to know his kind and compassionate and protective sides. His disdain for his controlling mother doesn't stop him from trying to save his sisters from an unhappy future. Rye realised that Tory is lighting up his dark spaces and she calms his emotional storms but he has deep seated self loathing and he doesn't think that he deserves Tory. That trip changed everything between them. The passion was out of this world. But Rye pushed her away and hurt her. She is such an amazing woman. Strong and sassy and loving. But even she has a breaking point. Rye had to do the grand gesture to get her back....more

But I am so happy that I read it because thI think boss employee is one of my favorite tropes and omg I am so late to the party. Like extremely late. But I am so happy that I read it because this goes straight to top of all time favorite workplace romance! Vi Keeland has unique style and that we all know. Chase and Reese has a very special kind of chemistry and I am not talking about the physical attraction only. Their banter. Their witty and spicy back and forth. The emotional connection. Chase is this enigmatic talented charming hot as hell billionaire but this man is hiding some really deep wounds. Reese is sassy and sweet and she is the one who broke down the barrier around Chase's heart. It was a brilliant combination of swoony, sexy and heartbreaking.
Chase Parker went from being the stranger saving Reese from an uncomfortable date to being her new boss( technically her boss's boss) who is making Reese forget the rules and lines. Reese had a regrettable one night stand in her previous job and she doesn't want her career to be damaged again. But Chase is pursuing her with everything. It's all fun and game but their hearts get tangled deeply and Reese doesn't know how to help him to beat his demons.
I loved how Chase is a complete package. He is incredibly smart. He run a successful company but he is still in touch with his roots. He is sexy and sometimes c0cky and so charming. You won't know at the beginning about his loss and grief and pain. Because Reese is different and she dragged him out of that dark space. Their banter was so good. Who knew slow burn can be so spicy! The angst hit at the right moment and last few chapters were hitting me so hard. But at the end, healing came with love....more

The forced proximity and age gap part added to the tension and insane chemistry. Andrew is an alpha hero through and through. He is bossy and possessive and protective to the highest level. Kelsey is such a sweet loving soul who was searching for a place to belong to and someone to call her own. This town and Andrew gave her everything.
✔️ small town romance ✔️ best friend’s older brother ✔️ forced proximity ( Kelsey living with Andrew as physical therapist and caretaker as he recovers from his life threatening injuries) ✔️ grumpy - sunshine ✔️ single mother ( pregnant with baby from her ex)
Andrew lived with a chip on his shoulder. Because he never trusted or felt close with step father even when his stepfather was an incredible man. Now he is unsure about taking charge of his stepfather's family farm and at that point, he has the massive accident during his secret adventure..being a star rodeo. He hates to be dependent on anyone else and that's why he was extra hard on Kelsey. She has been heartbroken recently and her awful ex got her fired from her job with the team. This job isn't just a job for her. There is this sizzling hot chemistry between them but they kept on ignoring it for a long time. But Andrew was enticed by her beauty and her heart and her personality. Kelsey couldn't help but fall for a man who is so mindful of her needs and so supportive. The baby could have been a curse specially when the father didn't want to have anything to do with it. But with Andrew, it was a blessing. He stood by her at every step. Kelsey filled his world with lots of light and love and he found himself doing something he never thought he would do..to fall in love with an amazing woman and build a happy future with her. I love Easterly family so much. They are a loud loving amazing bunch. Andrew and Kelsey kept their relationship secret for a while but they had nothing to fear. The family has their back.

ThThis book had me at a chokehold till the very last word. The Broken Places by Mia Sheridan was a fascinating tale of suspense, angst and heartache. The story can be shocking and disturbing a lot of time as the author expertly portrayed the anguish and danger of addiction and mental health issues. But what made this a compelling read is the constant flow of hope, love and redemption. Lennon and Ambrose are on a journey that will test their intelligence, resilience and above all, their own flaws.
Inspector Lennon Gayle isn't still accustomed to the gore and ugliness of murder. Specially not the ones associated with addiction and homeless people. But a serial killer is on lose. A new purple pill laced with hallucinogenic drugs is always found at the crime scene. FBI has sent Agent Ambrose to help with the case but it's all a game. He has his own reasons to be here. Can they stop the killer before that person eliminates the whole homeless population in San Francisco? And at what cost?
Please read the triggers because this book is very honest with serious issues like addiction, mental health, trauma, abuse and poverty. The author also gave it a bit futuristic vibes with the experimental treatments and trials. Lennon is a very sweet soul. Her empathy makes her stand apart from a regular cop but it could be a bad thing too. From the moment Ambrose appears, I could feel he has more than what meets the eyes. He has been through the deepest parts of hell and he will do anything to support the project that helped him to get out of the hell. He has this calm, controlled, sharp and dominating presence that made Lennon trust him. Their attraction was a factor too. But the mind games and power plays by the killer won't be easy to beat. Ambrose has to make Lennon believe in an almost impossible project so that she would help him to take down the killer and save people. The invisible strings were beautifully placed. It was fast paced and raw and intriguing. And I love how the romance played a complimenting and enhancing role.

This freaking man is absolutely perfect. Hot. Charming. Sweet. Totally in sync with his own feelings. Caring. Protective. Little bit of insecurities keeping the hockey superstar real. I cannot think of a better book boyfriend right now. What started as a fake engagement became something very real.
And then we have Hemi. She had the ugliest roughest early years despite having the best kind of family support and she used all the pain and anger and hurt to become a bada&& boss Babe! Her vulnerability made her erect a wall around her wall. She is sassy and bossy and slays at her job as Head of PR at Toronto Terror. But her heart can be full of doubt and heartache. It was Dallas' job to make her forgive him and make her fall in love. It wasn't an easy one at all. But our man is nothing if persistent and persuasive. His love was more than enough to heal her. This book delivers heartache and swoon in spades. And the spice too.

This fast paced thriller with a fascinating plot and romanYou Can Kill by Rebecca Zanetti kept me glued to the pages from the first word to the last. This fast paced thriller with a fascinating plot and romantic angle is brilliantly written. FBI agent Laurel Snow and her partner (in work and real life) Captain Huck Rivers are facing another cunning and dangerous serial killer who is tied to all the cases they solved before. And this time, their own lives are at risk.
This thriller or romantic suspense has an intriguing plot with so many complicated characters who keep you on your toes. Serial killer Jason Abbott escaped custody. New bodies are appearing but they don't match his old patterns. Laurel's genius sister Abigail may very well be a psychopath with her mind games and secrets. Laurel's father, Pastor Zeke Cain is back in town and he is also a devil person inside. Laurel is pregnant and Huck is in extra protective mode. But he is getting tangled into the murders too. Who is behind everything?
I love how this book gives enough space to Laurel and Huck's relationship. The suspense is the main mode here and the romantic interlude softens it a bit. It also helped me to relate more to Laurel and Huck. Laurel is highly intelligent and her mind is a fascinating space. It was so exciting to watch how she put the pieces together. The author also leaves enough crumbs for the reader and I found my mind working in overdrive. There are so many characters but you will not be lost, rather you would want to know more and more about their dreams and motivations and desires. Huck is like a pillar of strength for Laurel. He is a bit grumpy and closed off for everyone but Laurel is his soul and he won't let anyone hurt her. It's a bit hard for Laurel to lean on Huck but the murders and manipulations took a toll. They were always running to catch the killer and also, running away from the danger. The last few chapters were absolutely terrifying. In the end, you will get some answer but not all..

We Three Kings is a funny and witty and entertaining holiday romance with loads of colorful characters, celebrating family and friendship and love.
Maggie's team is her family. She heads the under- appreciated IT team in the company. She thought she would have to spend the holidays alone as her parents are away for a cruise. But Leo, Jasper and Frank all suggests a different plan. First, to be Frank's fake date to a wedding to appease his highly judgemental family. Then she has to spend some time at Jasper's family estate. And finally, spending Christmas with Leo and his big family. Just before the holiday starts, the HR asks her to select a team member to sack. How can she take this tough decision, when she is falling for one of them?
It's a very British story so if you love the mannerisms, it will be a blast for you. The story is told from Maggie's POV. She is a very kind and fair and witty character. She loves freely. She has a golden heart. Frank is a bit shy and anxious..your typical nerd but he is a sweetheart. Jasper is the smarta&& of the group. He comes from posh family but he isn't exactly rich or a snob. Leo is a mix of swoony and charming and sexy. I don't want to spoil it for you but you will understand very early who is going to be the hero. The Holidays were an adventure for Maggie as she spent some eventful and memorable days with her friends..one became more. It was full of hilarious accidents and heartwarming moments and Christmas magic. She took the right decision regarding the company too. I just found the romance lacking here.
Filthy Mogul by M. Robinson was absolutely electric! The action and suspense will keep you glued to the pages. Duchess and Luke set the pages on fire Filthy Mogul by M. Robinson was absolutely electric! The action and suspense will keep you glued to the pages. Duchess and Luke set the pages on fire with their filthy explosive chemistry. Luke Jameson is giving his father a run for his money. He is unapologetically dark and destructive. If you love your antiheores, Luke will rank pretty high in your list. He owns his monsters. He rules his dark kingdom ruthlessly. And he loved with equal intensity.
Luke Jameson is one of the most feared and successful organised crime lord out there. He doesn't care for mercy or weakness and most importantly...love beyond what he has for his family. He runs a group of exclusive night clubs as front of his illegal business. Duchess joins his club as a celebrity DJ. She is sassy and sexy and instantly grabs Luke's attention. But she is immune to his charms and sex appeal. Luke isn't the one to back down though. On the other hand, his empire is under threat from the enemies. Duchess thinks they can keep it sex only but slowly their souls get meshed together. And then? Everything breaks down. Secrets come out. Betrayal. Danger. Death. Loss. Will they be able to find their HEA.
I don't think I have read a book where the heroine is a DJ! Duchess is no wallflower for sure. She has endless attitude. She is one of the toughest FMC I have read. She has dark secrets and when those will be exposed, your heart will crack. She tried to keep Luke away because she knew he will blow through her defenses. She has her reasons too. Luke never wanted someone as much as he wanted her. His life is full of chaos and danger. He loves this life on the edge. But Duchess brought a level of stability and calm in his life. With her, he felt differently. He started to think about a future. He was crazy for her. It didn't soften him though. He was still a deadly mafia king. But for Duchess, he turned the world upside down. You wouldn't see the twists coming. The last few chapters will be so bad for your sanity because it will be absolutely terrifying and explosive and heartbreaking. Ultimately love will win.

This forbidden therapist/ patient romance comes with so many facets. The author's writing was sharp and powerful and it brought out all the heartache and spice so beautifully.
Being a Psychiatrist myself, I always get excited to read therapist patient romance because it is a slippery slope if not done well. Talia has many roles. An unorthodox therapist, sex educator and ex domme. Billionaire technology savant Kieran Hayes is at edge of break down from all the complex things happening in his life and he has been forced to go to therapy. From the first session, he constantly tries to undermine Talia. Little does he know..Talia has extra motivation to help him because years ago, he saved her. It's a battle of two alphas with sizzling hot chemistry and then the hearts get involved.
Please pay attention to trigger warnings. Talia and Kieran both have scars and demons. Take care of your mental health first. But if you are the kind of reader who thrives in challenges, this is for you. Talia has this hard exterior and her domme side helped her to get control of her life but that doesn't mean she hasn't vulnerability. And Kieran is knocking down her walls. He is equally unsettled by Talia too. He is trying his best to hold onto his dominance but submitting to Talia was a life changing experience. It was heartaching. It was breathtaking. It was sensual. It's definitely a story that will stay with you forever.

The Bonus by T.L. Swan is packed with so many amazing tropes. Billionaire romance. Alpha hero. Sassy heroine. Boss and PA. Secret baby. It had a mix of witty, angsty and swoony vibes. Gabriel Ferrera is powerful in his world. Arrogant. Sexy. Brooding. Intense. But Grace Porter turned his world upside down. She is sassy and stubborn and fierce. Their story has been interrupted so many times over the years and it was a hard earned happily ever after.
Grace Porter has been in love with her boss since she joined Ferrera group as Gabriel's PA. She is indispensable to him but not the way she wants. He is oblivious to her feelings. She decides that she can no longer take the heartbreak of watching the parade of sexy women in his life and resigns from her job. Gabriel tries his best tactics but she is determined to move to a small town in Maine and start fresh. The Christmas party was her last event. And that day Gabriel shows his hands..The scorching hot chemistry takes over. But the night got over and she comes to know that Gabriel can never be hers as he will only marry an Italian woman. She leaves with a broken soul..Little does she know she is leaving with a bonus in her body. Misunderstanding and miscommunication prevent her from letting Gabriel know about the twin surprise. Seven years later..he comes to know about his children. Dominic & Lucia. But he is getting married next month and he cannot stop thinking about Grace. Can they have a happy family?
Grace was my absolute favorite. She always put her self respect first. She has the sweetest heart and she gave everything to Gabriel. The dedication, the loyalty, the time..but when it became too much, she left. Even that sinful Christmas night was her decision. Her choice to claim a bit of closure. But I feel it just broke her worse because hope is dangerous. Then she kept going on like a true warrior. She could have been a coward or selfish person and never try to tell Gabriel. But she did her best even when that man has wrecked her heart. The fault lies with third party here. She raised two amazing kids after going through the pregnancy almost alone. She gave them the best chance to learn Italian language and culture. Gabriel literally stormed into their lives after he came to know about the kids accidentally. Now he might run billion dollars business but he is so clueless when it comes to parenthood and relationship. His upbringing is to blame for this. He was going from sad to angry to upset to begging to threatening to demanding to sweet. It was a mess. Grace was trying her best to keep a balance and the kids come first but Gabriel is always so intense. She didn't want to get hurt again and Gabriel wasn't just giving her any space to breathe. It's so humbling and heartaching to see a larger than life man to get torn like that. But I loved that Grace made him work for it. The kids were so amazing too! Gabriel has broken her heart too many times for her to let him in easily. But he sure did the best groveling. He had to break his own chains and stand up to his toxic mother. At the end, love won.
The reason I gave it 3.5 is the way Gabriel switched from being in "love" to his fiance to love to Grace. Yes I understand it's not the same. But it was pretty evident that he deeply cares for Ariana. It's not just a marriage of obligation. I definitely don't mind if they dated and had sex with other people because that's real life. I can even get a marriage of convenience. But this was a bit hard to get over with.
Jason and Chloe will set your heart and your kindle on fire! Adriana Locke delivers another perfectly spicy and swoony marriage of convenience romanceJason and Chloe will set your heart and your kindle on fire! Adriana Locke delivers another perfectly spicy and swoony marriage of convenience romance in The Arrangement. I cannot get enough of her big family dynamics love. The Brewer family is no exception. They stay together in the toughest times and rally behind each other and other times...it's all fun and banter. Jason might be the brooding grumpy alpha CEO but his friend aka his assistant has him wrapped around her fingers. But she didn't know that until she proposed that insane plan to get fake married and Jason was hell bent on proving that they are the real deal.
