Grant was the backup quarterback for the Seattle Sharks. He had a pristine reputation as a pastor’s kid and was expected to live up to it. The Sharks also had a previous QB whose reputation was a nightmare so they were incredibly strict with Grant’s expected image.
Daisy was a flight attendant who took on a second job as the flight attendant for the Sharks corporate jet. She also had a secret hobby under a pen name that wrote an erotic book about her fantasies with Grant.
As expected, Grant and Daisy’s secrets eventually blew up on all accounts. Although the story was well written and well developed, it felt mechanical to me and I desired more feeling. It was probably more of a personal preference. Additionally, I wanted to see more of a conclusion with the reporter - no spoilers forthcoming, so no elaboration here, just that I wanted more closure.
True to the series, Brannagh included all of our past favorites throughout the storyline. It was great to catch up with them and see the big picture of their friendships and team bonding.
All in all, it was enjoyable. Next up is Tanner. We weren’t introduced yet, but my guess is that he was the veteran QB that was referenced as being injured near the end of the book. Either way, we’ll see in Necessary Roughness.

Although it can technically beEntangled was the second book in the Angel’s Halo MC series by Terri Anne Browning. It was my first book by the author. Although it can technically be read as a stand alone, I recommend reading it in order for the series to fully understand all plots.
Willa was still a child when she met Spider but the chemistry was off the charts. They bonded and fell in love until a night of betrayal. A few years later they met again. The storyline was primarily about the events of the MC. It was a little confusing but I’m hoping that I can fill in gaps by back tracking to the first book then to the next book in the series.
Multiple stories were carried over from the first book in the series, Angel’s Halo, and were threaded throughout the storyline. Additionally, multiple POV’s were mixed in based on those multiple plots. I enjoyed the stories and the complexity within each but it felt like a soap opera. I craved more from Willa and Spider - the other plots were a little distracting detracting from the main theme. (Update after reading the first book in the series - it made more sense and wasn’t as distracting - best to read the books in order!)
All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read. It ended a little too abruptly for me but hopefully we’ll get more development through the next books, Guardian Angel (Hawk/Gracie), and Reclaimed (Jet/Felicity)- both were set up perfectly, giving teasers for an emotional yet explosive story for each one.

Although there are currently 40+ books in the series, this was only my third book of the series and all can be read as a standalone. As to the Iron Fiends MC, it was the first for Travers and set the stage well for the series.
Sloane McDare was a faithful romance reader and was attending the Motorcycles, Mobsters and Mayhem Book Signing conference. Aero was a patched member of the Iron Fiends MC. His club had just completed a charity ride and we’re staying the night before heading back home. As luck would have it, they were staying in the same hotel as a book signing. And the story began…
Winters wrote the story as a faithful and curious reader meeting a biker for the first time. It bounced between reality, fairytale and pinch me in case I’m dreaming moments. Sloane was awkward and funny and was referenced as cute. Aero was not your typical rough alpha biker but was portrayed as an average guy who happens to ride a motorcycle and is part of an MC. The plot focused on the introduction of the two and getting to know each other with a timeline over two to three days for the entire book. The plot was straight forward without any drama. The vibe was a deviation from the normal MC storyline.
Winters also introduced the club as a peek into the series and who we can expect. And lastly, she left a huge teaser aka cliff hanger for an opening into book two, My Savior....more

NoFreedom Ride was the tenth and final book in the Devil’s Knight’s MC Second Generation series by Winter Travers. The series was best read in order. Note: I read an unedited version from Amazon, so this review did not address any editing but focused solely on the characters and storyline.
Freedom Ride opened six years after Chase the Sunset, book nine. Snapper was being released from a six year stint in prison and headed home to the Devil’s Knight’s. Despite prison, he wasn’t jaded and still had his good spirits and hope for the future. Lennox was a few states away but met Snapper through her brother, Snapper’s cell mate. They had never met in person but had been writing letters for the last three years. And the story began.
I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and both characters. I also enjoyed how Travers incorporated Meg and King, book one, original series. It brought everything full circle for both series. I also enjoyed how Lennox fit with the craziness and chaos of the Devil’s Knight’s Old Ladies. All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. I don’t know where Travers will take us from here, but I can’t wait to see if she takes the journey to a third generation. ...more

I’ve taken a break from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: I enjoyed both characters (Birdie & Easy). The storyline started exactly where the previous book left off with Easy fainting while in the hospital waiting room. Travers took us through the health issues with Birdie helping to navigate the way as a doctor and friend to the MC. Travers also added a challenge from Birdie’s past that crept into the present. It was a quick read with some sadness mixed in. I would have liked a deeper dive into the conflict - it abruptly ended without much depth - but it was still enjoyable. Additionally, another teaser segue into the next book with Snapper in Freedom Ride. All in all, it was another great addition to the series! ...more

I enjoyed both Mako and Faith aka Indigo. The storyline centered around Faith getting her sister back. Loyalty was everything. It was a quick read and the storyline had me hooked from the beginning. It was a little rushed and somewhat disjointed. I would have liked more depth as well as more detail and dimension regarding the final conclusion of the conflict; however, it was still enjoyable.
