I expected this book to be a light, easy read - a welcome change from all the 300+ page books I've been reading latA substantial plot poorly executed.
I expected this book to be a light, easy read - a welcome change from all the 300+ page books I've been reading lately. Instead, I got what should have been a 400 page novel stuffed into 150 pages. It was like watching an out of control bullet train. Everything moved so fast, it was very hard to connect with the characters and really feel for them. It's really sad, because there is a decent plot and characters that intrigued me. I wanted to know more about their them and their lives. But I just got a hasty summary instead. And the end just made me really mad - it ended in the middle of nowhere. One minute there is a serious conversation going on, the next minute I'm staring at the words 'The End'. It was like Charlotte Penn Clark suddenly got tired of writing and decided to just end it there. I thought that the next book would pick up right away even though it's about a different sister, but it starts off five years later in the sneak peak at the end of the book. I'm still reeling from feeling completely disoriented.
