With its gripping storyline and undeniable suspense, "You Shouldn't Have Come There" by Jeneva Rose is a must-read for fans of thrillers, suspense, and mystery. This novel will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. As a fan of Jeneva Rose's writing, I have observed her unique talent for incorporating unexpected twists and turns into her stories. "You Shouldn't Have Come There" is no exception. Every detail in this novel is meticulously crafted to keep the reader engaged and enthralled. The story centers on a woman named Grace, who decides to spend 10 days at an Airbnb in Wyoming. The idea of a peaceful retreat quickly turns into a nightmare when Grace realizes she has no cell service or internet connection. As she settles in, she notices an abundance of women's clothing and underwear at the ranch. Her unease deepens when she confronts her host, Calvin Wells, who provides a flimsy excuse about his "dead girlfriend." However, Grace's worries don't end there. Her car is also acting up, and Calvin's "mechanic" brother, Joe, offers to fix it. The next day, Joe arrives and reveals it will take two days to repair the vehicle. Grace witnesses Calvin and Joe getting into a physical altercation while the three of them go out for drinks. To add to the mystery surrounding Calvin, Grace discovers that he has a younger brother named Joe, who seems to have a dark past. As the days pass, more secrets come to light, and Grace's suspicions deepen. She encounters another guest at the ranch, an older man named Albert, who appears to have an unusual fascination with her. Meanwhile, Charlotte, the woman pursuing Calvin, arrives at the ranch and reveals to Grace that they had a brief romance. The tension among these characters heightens the already palpable sense of danger and unpredictability in the story. The novel takes a chilling turn when a drunken Albert crawls into Grace's bed, leading her to lock her door and scrutinize her surroundings even more. As the sun rises on the secluded ranch, Grace awakens to the sound of Calvin installing a new lock on her bedroom door. After the unsettling events of the previous night, Grace feels relieved to have the added security. She exits her room to find Albert, the ranch owner, apologizing for his brother Joe's actions and introducing her to his medical bracelet. Grace is taken aback by the numerous allergies listed, but she doesn't have much time to dwell on it as Calvin appears with a fire extinguisher in hand. In a swift and shocking move, Calvin uses the extinguisher to put out the flames that Joe had started in the main building. Grace is left speechless as Joe, fueled by anger and resentment, accuses their mother of shooting their father and taking her own life. But before the situation can escalate further, Almond, the local sheriff, arrives to take control of the matter.
Almond conducts an interview with Grace and strongly advises her to leave the ranch as soon as possible. Grace, still reeling from the previous night's events, agrees to depart in two days. However, while observing from a distance, she notices Calvin leaving in his truck and seizes the opportunity to sneak into his basement. What she discovers there is enough to make her question everything she thought she knew. A photograph on the wall reveals that Albert is not only the uncle of Calvin and Joe but also the father of the missing ranch hand, Briana. As she digs deeper, Grace uncovers a guestbook, with the last signature being Briana's. Could it be that Calvin and Joe are hiding something about Briana's disappearance? Grace is determined to find out, and her journey to uncover the truth leads her down a dangerous path.
Her curiosity eventually leads her to Calvin's hunting knife, which she takes possession of before noticing Betty, Calvin's surrogate mother, outside in her nightgown. Betty warns Grace that she should not have come, and at that moment, Grace realizes that the lock on her bedroom door has been installed incorrectly. As the following day dawns, Calvin informs Grace that Joe has been arrested for his arson and Albert has gone missing. Determined to leave the ranch as soon as possible, Grace asks Calvin to fix the lock on her door. But Calvin has another excuse, claiming that a mechanic will be fixing her car that evening. Grace is suspicious, especially when she confronts him about the guestbook, and he produces it without Briana's name. As Calvin dozes off, Grace finishes packing her belongings. But before she can leave, he drinks two cups of her drugged coffee and when she goes to start her car, it won't start. She quickly realizes that something is not right and before she knows it, Calvin has grabbed and dragged her. In a desperate attempt to escape, Grace bites his finger and runs into the house. Calvin, fueled by his own anger and desperation, tracks her down to his bedroom before being incapacitated by her drugged coffee. With Calvin finally subdued, Grace interrogates him and he finally confesses to causing the car accident that killed his girlfriend, Lisa. But what shocks Grace even more is his admission that the missing Briana is alive and being held captive in a nearby shed. In a moment of sheer panic and rage, Grace uses Calvin's hunting knife to end his life. As Grace finally leaves the ranch, she is consumed with thoughts of what she has just uncovered. Once a peaceful haven, the ranch is now filled with secrets and lies. And Grace, while grateful to have escaped unscathed, can't help but wonder what other dark secrets may be lurking just below the surface. "Grace's Discovery: A Twisted Tale of Deception and Redemption "Something is unsettling about discovering hidden secrets within the walls of a seemingly ordinary home. This unease turned into a nightmare for Avery Adams when she stumbled upon the taxidermized heads of previous female guests in her husband's closet. But what was even more shocking was the space reserved for her own head on the wall, a chilling reminder of her potentially gruesome fate. In a moment of sheer panic and desperation, Avery sets the entire house ablaze, determined to free herself and Briana, another captive woman. But as they escape, Avery decides to leave Briana behind and drives off into the night alone. Little did anyone know, this was just the beginning of a shocking journey that would leave readers reeling. As Avery arrives at a gas station, still reeling from the events that just unfolded, she realizes that the attendant knows her true identity and that her husband, children, and seemingly perfect life in Chicago were all just a facade. Her real name is Avery and she has been living a completely different life than what her family and friends believed. Thankfully, the attendant returns her driver's license, giving Avery a sense of relief. But instead of simply driving off, she sets the station on fire, perhaps as a symbol of the old life she is leaving behind. She is no longer Grace, the perfect wife and mother, but Avery, a woman who has been living a lie. As she drives back to her home in Chicago, Avery is left to contemplate her actions and the life she is returning to. Her husband and children are completely oblivious to the turmoil she has just experienced, thinking she was on a relaxing retreat near Seattle. Looking at her daughter, who resembles her, Avery considers taking her on a future trip, perhaps as a way to make amends for all the lies and deceit. But as readers reflect on the shocking revelation of Grace's true identity, one can't help but wonder what led Avery to this point. How did she end up living such a drastically different life? And what will happen now that she has returned to her old one?
So, if you're looking for a gripping tale of deception, redemption, and unexpected discoveries, look no further than "Grace's Discovery." Just be prepared for a wild ride that will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew. In conclusion, "You Shouldn't Have Come There" is a thrilling and suspenseful read that will leave you breathless.

Over-review
Okay is it fair to say that I love love this book. I normally buy my books, and surprisingly I didn't buy this one. I rented the audio from the library and listened to it. In three days', time I will finish reading it. I must say this book is awesome!!! What drew me the most was the relationship between the siblings. The reason why this drew me in the most was because I have that same relationship with my sisters and brother. One of my sisters I haven't spoken to in two years, the other every now and then via text. With that being said the book touched home for me, I enjoy the background history of all three characters. I enjoyed all three characters. I was trying to figure out which character I related more too: Beth, Nicole and Michael?
The book is set in the early 90’s, but it comes back to the future (present day.) Also, Jeneva Rose, every few chapters she would switch perspective of Michael, Laura Nicole or Beth. Home is where the bodies are is a book about three siblings whose mother (Laura) dies. It tells their story about their missing father, and a crazy tape they found that showed both parents covered in blood with an unidentified body. Later it is revealed that the unidentified body is a little girl that they knew had come missing during their childhood. Immediately I thought it was Nicole, because of the drugs and how wild her life was. I immediately pointed to her. But time will tell it was not Nicole, so fasten your seats, it's going to be a long fast bumpy ride.
My favorite part of the whole book was when Michael (the brother) wanted to buy his mom home from Beth for his sister Nicole. At this time the will has been read and Laura (mother) has left the house in Beth name. Beth rather sale it because she fell like Nicole wouldn't be able to take care of the bills and upkeep of the house. But Michael was reassuring Beth that he will help her keep up with the bills and ins and outs of the house. However, after much thought later in the book she decided not to sell him the house. Why is this part my favorite? Because this started showing the true plot and intentions Michael had. Did I say my favorite character was Nicole. I mean Michael. LOL. You will have to read this book; the characters will have you second guessing until the very end.
When I say I have not run into a book this good since The Patient by Alex Michaelides!!! LAAAWWWWDDD have mercy this book was bomb!!! It was exciting and thrilling all the way till the end. If there is a part two of this book.....count me in!!! The only part I didn't care too much for was how it ended. I thought a little more details on their lives after everything would have been great. If you like fast-paced books that keep you wanting more (a page turner if you will). Check this book out, you will not regret it!!!
Recommendation: The other books that are made by Rose: The Perfect Marriage and You Shouldn't Come Here. Sadly this is my first book from Jeneva Rose, but I will be checking out more from this author.
