Plot summary( with spoilers)
Anna and her nephilim friends plans to rid the world of their demon fathers but things did not go according to plan as the dukes found out the prophecy might be true and she might be able to get rid of them, they started stalking her and she had to live her life on the road from hotel to hotel. Her father found a lophole to get Pharzuph off her back. Jay and Marna got together but she got pregnant, apparently the surgery didn't work on her.
So her and Kaidan had to get married and have sex to get the dukes off her for being a virgin and still be pure of heart. Their victory was short lived cause she was forced to use the sword when a whisperer attacked and almost possessed Pattie. That put her and Kaidan on the run cause he won't leave her. He pretended to be on his dad's side and turned her in.
They almost killed her at the summit but thankfully she did not die, she sent some dukes to hell and a few that redeemed themselves went to heaven but not without cost, The dukes killed Pattie as test to get her faith to falter but it did not work and Kope almost died but his dad possessed his body and healed him then left before his soul departed his body. The Nephilims also got their soul cleansed now their soul is no longer damned to hell but their urges still remained.
Six years later in the epilogue Anna and Kaidan went to Malawi to visit Kope and Zania and also to adopt kids from their orphanage too. Blake and Ginger got together for reals, Marna died during childbirth but the baby survived and Jay got a cool DJ job in L.A....more

Wendy did it again with her characters and plot.

She visited him in jail and realized his on the size of God but was one of those that was deceived by Lucifer and fell.
She also visited the convent she was born because the nun that gave her to get adopted mother has answers for her but the nun died before she got there but left a box with here which contained a helt and Kaidan confirmed that it's the sword of righteousness.

This book is also very diverse, the main characters are all from different races, Wendy really outdid herself there.
Plot summary(with spoilers) Anna found herself working even when she vowed that she will not, cause the demon whisperers stalk her like crazy, Kaidan refuse to talk to her, its being months since they last saw and she's still heartbroken.
The spirit of the nun who gave her to her adopted mother appeared to her and told her that they is a prophecy that a pure in heart nephilim can send the dukes back to hell and God will give them a chance at redemption on judgement day, also a great news for the nephilims because they can then live their lives the way they want. She disclose the message to her father who told her that they need allies, he sent her and Kope to different parts of the world to gain allies, Zania daughter of the duke of hatred,Flynn son of greed and the former crew Ginger and Marna the twins, Blake and Kaidan.
Kaidan was still not talking to her when she went to tell him and Blake, she later found out that it was her dad that told him to stay away, she was super pissed and they started dating. Her father then told her that Zania one of her allies is about to be killed and sent Kaidan,Kope and Flynn to rescue her, The duke's spies saw Flynn there and he was killed for interfering, but he refused to tell them who he was working for or with. The dukes then decided that they need to purge(kill) all nephilims.
Anna and her crew have to act fast to get rid of the dukes before they kill them all. ...more

Spoiler alert Cecile is now living with her mom and singing in the opera and also hunting for the witch while Tristan is rotting in jail for his crimes against the king. The half blood and true blood both hate him, the former cause he used them to get Cecile it instead of asking.
Cecile made a promise to the king to find Anuhska so that he'll stop toturing Tristan, she got lots of leads on the location spell all lead to grave yards apart from two one of which leads to the Reagent's palace. She found a way to free only Tristan from the curse to come meet her.
Together they looked for the witch, with help from Chris and Sabine. They found out that the witch has being imortal by killing the women in Cecile's family by using them for sacrifice and her mother is the next to be killed on the next solstice and full moon. Little did they know that her mother is already dead and that it's Anushka that is wearing her mother's skin. And Anushka is also her grandmother.
Anushka tried to kill Cecile and take over her body but could not because her life is bound to that of Tristan. She killed her and broke the curse. A moment later they heard a loud flapping of wings lo and behold it's a dragon from the world of the trolls.

I love this quote by Tupac that inspired the book name. THUG LIFE : THE HATE U GIVE LITTLE INFANTS FUCKS EVERYBODY.
The book is about a black girl starr who witness her black friend been killed by a white cop for the lamest reason ever (he thought a hairbrush was a gun) like seriously?
Starr lives in the hood with her parents and brothers but school in a suburban white private school, has a white boyfriend, white friend and all. The story talks about how black people are mistreated and killed cause people just conclude that cause you're black and poor you're defintely a thug which is fucked up.
The police terrorized her family cause she testified, apparently seeing your friend getting shot for nothing is not enough, after everything the jury still found a way to justify the cop for killing a 16 year old.
"I didn’t know a dead person could be charged in his own murder, you know?"
I love all the cultural stuff in the book, i guess black people are the same wherever we are. I wish authors write more books like this that potray sociatal issues. ...more

Since I watched the movies before reading the books, I can’t help but compare the both.
One thing is for sure, the movies did a good job but the book is way better than the movie, they cut off some vital parts that are very important to the progression of the plot and character development, I understand why they did that but I don’t have to be happy about it.
The book began with the death of Harry’s parents, we saw how that affected the wizarding community and how he came to live with the Dursley’s. To say his uncle and aunt are horrible people is an understatement. The book features lots of his childhood with the Dursley’s and his admission into Hogwarts where it all began. I love how all the students are in different houses, brings back memories.
I love the world, it’s kind of like urban fantasy with it’s own twist, it’s contemporary but the wizards have their own world where they live in a sort of fantasy world where magic and mythical creatures live. The writing is straight forward which isn’t surprising since it’s a young adult book. The book is written mainly in Harry’s third person POV with a few by other characters.
The magic system isn’t exactly original, the author gave a new twist to something we’re familiar with, it’s usually elemental magic with spells and the like thrown in. The depiction of the magic system was well done.
So far I love all the characters in this book, even Draco the bully, they are all so well written. I still can’t decide on a favorite, I’m torn between the three friends, Hermione, Ron and Harry.
Harry is the weird one who knows nothing of the wizarding world but somehow survived the worst villain they had even seen as a baby, they all know him but he is lost but slowly finding his place.
Ron knows all about the community but he has very big shoes to fill, his brothers are big names so everyone expects him to be as good as them, being poor doesn’t help.
Hermione is the know it all, she’s very smart and though new to the world have read all there is about it, meeting her helped Harry and Ron’s academics big time.
Then there’s the Weasley twins, George and Fred, Percy, Neville, Hagrid and many other awesome characters....more

This bookThis series took the longest to finish, I started reading it in 2017 and finished in 2019, I read a book each year and am glad I splitted it.
This book is my favourite in the series, Annith is also my favourite of all three girls, her story had so much revelations and its a great conclusion to the series.
World building and Writing Before this series I had no idea the French invaded Brittany. The author did such an amazing job depicting it. There was no confusion whatsoever. The book like its predecessors its written in first person POV of Annith the MC.
Characters Annith is such a strong female character and she is nothing like the way people thought her to be, she is no where near docile. She is brave and goes for what she wants.
Balthazar the love interest is another great character, can't say much about him cause of spoilers. But one thingis for sure, he is kind, loving and selfless. What more could one ask for.
Sybella, Isbeau, Duval and Beast were all in this and they all played interesting roles, even the Abbess. ...more
This is really going to be a short review, based on the fact that 3 stars review are just so hard for me to Buddy reading with Kelsey My Dec tbr twin
This is really going to be a short review, based on the fact that 3 stars review are just so hard for me to write most times and also I didn't enjoy this book even though it was okay.
As glad as I am that I enjoyed this book, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed. The book lacks action, in depth depictions of things that happened in the book, some things were just too rushed for my liking.
I love the politics and scheming in the book, even though I predicted most, I still enjoyed the scheming a lot.
The world building is average, it was just okay. The book is written in the first person point of view of Ismae the MC. Despite some of her cringing thoughts I still enjoyed her narration and the dialogues in the book.
The characters are a bit bland. Ismae and Duval was okay and the rest was more of a filler than an actual character. I expected more from Anne and the other nobles but got nothing.
The plot is no where near original but the author did a good job with the book....more

This one focuses on Sybella'This is even better than the first one, I was a bit skeptical about this, that was why it took me this long to read this. This one focuses on Sybella's story, the politics and war was less in this, the book is 50% Sybella's life, 50% the other stuff. The romance also is cool, it wasn't forced or rushed but happened at a good pace. This book took place after the final battle in Grave Mercy.
The world building and writing is esqusite, I can see an improvment between this and the first book, especially the battle scenes, this is written in first person POV of Sybella.
The characters here are so cool, they were not one dimensional.
Sybella is my favourite character in this book, I like that despite all she has been through she refuses to give up and still has room for love in her life, I prefer her fighting skills to that of Ismae.
The Beast of Worach didn't die as we thought, but was captured by D'Albert, he was tortured but didn't break.
Julian my sweet Julian, I was skeptical about him at first but that changed and he is now among my favourites.
Ismae and Duval was just in this for a few pages and that place was cool.
Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom....
Before I read ToG, I had no idea that Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom....
Before I read ToG, I had no idea that Fantasy is different from Historical Fiction, and since then I've read a total of 110 Epic Fantasy and 52 Urban fantasy. This series helped me to not only differentiate the two genres but it also helped me to discover my new favourite genre, which is FANTASY. I singlehandedly discovered this series by myself early 2016, that was before EoS came out, I decided to wait till it came out thinking that EoS will be the last book in the series. January 2017 I started reading ToG after my finals, I was obsessed with it, it delayed the writing of my undergraduate thesis for a few weeks but I have no regrets.
This book started two months after the incident of EoS, I know its so short, that is not even the worst part about the pacing, apparently the whole series happened in a year, just one year so all the undying love and loyalty happened within 365 years. That is way to short. Even though I love this book so much I have to admit it didn't live up to expectations given how EoS and ToD ended I expected more from the conclusion to this amazing series. The fight scenes were beyond amazing, so was the writing and characters. The other battles in this book were much better than the final battle, things were a bit rushed, In my opinion the strings were to well knotted together it seemed unreal how they defeated all their foes.
World building and Writing We all know that SJM is great when it comes to building worlds and there is no exception here, everything was so well depicted, especially the battle scenes. Just like its predecessors the book was written in third person multiple POV.
Characters The characters are astounding , its almost impossible to hate them, SJM went as far as to explain not only how they are at the moment but also the incidents that made them the way they are. Since basically everyone is coupled, I’ll explain them with their partner.
Rowan and Aelin our led characters, Rowan is torn that Aelin was taken from under his nose and also not knowing that they were mates, Aelin was tortured for two months straight by Maeve, after she got out she suffered from PTSD which was well portrayed, Rowan helped her to move on, a day at a time.
“I don’t sleep well these days.” He cut her a sidelong glance. “I don’t suppose I’m the only one.” She picked at the blister on her right hand, hissing. “We could start a secret society—for people who don’t sleep well.” “As long as Lorcan isn’t invited, I’m in.” Aelin huffed a laugh.
Dorian and Manon, I don't care what anyone says, as far as am concerned they are a couple. Dorian is in search of the third and final Wrydkey while battling with his inner demons, due to his possession, he is very reckless that Manon of all people even thought that. Manon is still trying to rally the Crochan and for them to also accept her as their Queen, with the beloved 13 at her side and the Ironteetg Witches hunting them.
Lysandra and Aedion, She is as sweet as ever and her dedication to Terressean is so admirable given the fact that she is not from there, she kept up the charade for months. Aedion was an ass to her for the better part of the book cause he blamed her for Aelin getting captured.
“I’ll get the archers sorted today. And ensure the soldiers at the gates know how to wield that boiling oil.” “Do you know how to wield it?” Aedion arched a brow. Ren snorted. “What’s to learn? You dump a giant cauldron over the side of the walls. Damage done.”
Others include Loracn and Elide, Chaol and Yrene whom didn't get much POV and finally Nesryn and Sartaq whom I can count their POV on one hand, I think.
Gavriel and Fenrys also played a major role in this. I love them both so much....more

This book did not wow me the way i expected, i predicted the ending from the beginning, that is not to say the book is not good, it is and i still like it, will definitely complete the series.
I like the character development a lot, how Simon being a vampire changed everything about him, Alec finally coming out, and Jace always with his arrogant and cocky attitude that i love. The new characters are great too, i love Sebastain looking forward to read more about him in the next book. I did not like that the author dragged Jace and Clary to the ending of the third book before realizing that they are not related, i would have loved the book more if they found out in book two. the writing is also good, and i really like the plot....more
