Perfect for anyone with kids who are worried about animals and the environment! TW for climate change, death of a whale, near-death of a beached whale, climate anxiety, mentions of a dead mother by cancer....more

I was a bit apprehensive at first, given that it's a love story and I'm not exactly fond of those, but it didn't entirely take over the narrative, and actually worked quite well. I preferred Bram's POV over Eve's, because his chapters had more action in them, as well as information about the world outside. Eve I think could have been a bit more proactive, and I would have liked more explanation in places, but I understand that you can't fit everything into one book. Hopefully these things will happen in the next two books. Overall, a pretty good book, and the first one I've actually finished in a while and actually enjoyed! Tom is an absolute genius when it comes to song writing, and a brilliant story writer on top of that. For this anti-Christmas girl, this is now a must-read every year, something I never thought I would do! I'm going to be singing 'I heard A Noise On The Rooftop' for days now!...more
Tom did it again and has written another incredibly imaginative, brilliantly written, fun read for kids and adults alike. I'm going to review this on Tom did it again and has written another incredibly imaginative, brilliantly written, fun read for kids and adults alike. I'm going to review this on my channel, so I'll be brief here: The Creakers is just as good as The Christmasaurus, if not better because this is more to my sense of humour/tastes in subject matter. It's so imaginative, it will set any kids imagination on fire immediately, make them giggle, and thoroughly enjoy themselves the whole time they read. Shane Devries drawings are perfect as always, I loved all the details, and it added so much to the story. (view spoiler)[The references in this book to The Christmasaurus are perfect and the subtle jab at Piers Morgan will bring a huge smile to parents faces. My favourite references though will always be the references to McFly and Tom's life. The cameo to Buzz and Buddy was adorable and the McFly poster on Lucy's wall made me tear up. And Tom's message to Danny, Harry and Dougie brought me so close to tears I literally can't see what I'm typing properly. That's my unstoppable Galaxy Defending fangirl side talking, but it meant a huge amount to see these things in this book. (hide spoiler)] So glad this came two days early, I loved every second of this book, it's absolutely brilliant, and exactly what I expect from such a brilliant writer as Tom. Filled with loads of work outs that even I could do, and dance routines I cannot wait to try out, I am suddenly filled with the need to go out and actually do something. More importantly, this book focuses on how getting up and moving can really help with mental health issues, such as anxiety and OCD. As someone with OCD and stress and anger related issues, Harry's story is inspiring, and has left me wondering if getting up and moving will help me out at all. There's only one way to find out...
