This was a rapid and easy read, but the book felt flat for me, and I couldn’t connect to any of the characters and didn’t care about them. It has a very descriptive style, and the plot is practically non-existent. Though it was a quick and easy read, I found finishing challenging.

I loved the premises of this book; however, the execution let me down as it is prolonged-paced It's a very character-driven book with significant character development, and I loved that we have a diverse case. While reading this book, we can see one of the substantial points of focus is the character flaws in part of the book. It felt so long, and I struggled to read. I felt there could have been more of a plot. I still don't understand that magic system in this world. It is left unexplained for the most part. I am curious to see where the story will go. It feels more like a cosy fantasy with a hint of romance with the tropes of forced proximity whilst following Auerila, whos curated a perfect human life alongside her serious magical life.

Today, I’m excited to share my thoughts on *The Someday Daughter* by Elle O'Clover.
Welcome back to another Friday Netgalley Backlog! In this week’s review, I found *The Someday Daughter* to be a quick and engaging read. The story beautifully captures the nuances of relationships through the lens of a mother-daughter dynamic, exploring themes of motherhood, young adulthood, and personal growth.
We follow Audrey, who is reluctantly forced to spend her summer before starting pre-med on a book tour with her controlling mother. The first half of the book sets the stage, but I found the second half to be more captivating and transformative. I especially appreciated the representation of mental health and how it underlines the complexities of the mother-daughter relationship.
Overall, it’s a poignant tale that resonates with anyone who has navigated the challenges of familial expectations and personal identity.

I especially felt sorry for Lucy at the beginning of the story and how others have made her feel about her skin.
The mystery unfolds when Lucy goes to Comber Bay and discovers Jess's house is empty. Additionally, I enjoyed the different timeline that allows us to follow Mary in the 1800s. This book felt very atmospheric and mysterious at the same time. The cliff, the baby, and the painting all kept me thinking and guessing throughout the story.

This book was quite easy to read, and it’s clear the authors have a solid grasp of teenagers and their dynamics. The friendship between shy, awkward Elijah and the more self-assured Wade felt genuinely sweet. It was heartwarming to see their growth throughout the story as they learned to embrace their true selves. There’s a bit of a love triangle that caught me off guard, but I appreciated how it was portrayed.
While I usually enjoy dual perspectives, I felt this book might have been stronger without Wade’s point of view. It seemed almost like it could stand alone, as his character didn’t show much development. Plus, neither character really apologized to their friends for their behavior, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a fun and engaging read that really captured the essence of being a teenager.

HarperCollins Children's Books, Young Adult andIt's Netgalleyback log day, and today, I will review We're Never Getting Back Together by Tracy Badua. HarperCollins Children's Books, Young Adult and MulitClutral Intrest book. I enjoyed this book so much -it has all the elements I love. Tracy Badua has a unique talent for crafting flawed and unlikable characters, a quality that many readers may find intriguing. However, I must admit that I was not in the right mindset for this when diving into her latest YA novel. As I read, I wished the characters could have resolved their issues simply by pausing to communicate openly. It's a familiar sentiment, yet the challenges they faced felt like an unnecessary pile-up, detracting from the narrative. This book might resonate well with teenagers who appreciate a lively music festival backdrop filled with the complexities of friendship. I am curious to hear others' thoughts on it, as I still have high hopes for Badua's future work.
The story centres around Jana Rubio, the dutiful younger daughter of Filipino immigrants, who grapples with the weight of her family's lofty expectations, constantly striving for perfection. In stark contrast is her best friend, Maddy Parsons, who embodies a more carefree demeanour but battles the harsh criticism of her weight from her judgmental parents, leaning heavily on Jana for emotional support. Together, they anticipate seeing their favourite band, the Newcomers & Goers (affectionately known as CoGo), at the vibrant Orchards Festival. Yet, their much-anticipated night turns for the worse when a significant argument erupts, casting a shadow over their friendship. Compounding their troubles, they discover that a friend has misplaced the keys to their only mode of transportation home. With these setbacks, Jana and Maddy must unite, confront their underlying issues, and work together to navigate their way back amidst the chaos of their emotions and the festival atmosphere.

I love following the Willimont sisters on their journey to love. This time, we are following Juliet and Will through a dual pov. I love how we get to see each of them dealing with practising romance together. I love how we see the representation of autism ( as a neurodivergent momma, it's done well). One of the book's favourite parts is the texts that made me smile. I enjoy Chloe Liese's romances. The relationship between the characters develops gradually, creating a compelling slow-burn dynamic enhanced by the fake dating theme. I also appreciated seeing familiar faces from earlier books in the series. As usual, the portrayal of chronic illness and neurodivergence was handled with care and sensitivity. This book is another fantastic addition to the series.

I’m thrilled to have received an ARC from one of my favourite rom-com authors! In this charming story, Lucie's daughter, Maya, finds herself on the phone late at night with a radio host, sharing all the juicy details about her mom's love life—or the absence of one—with everyone in Baltimore and the listeners of HeartStrings.
The story is told through the dual perspectives of Lucie and Adien as they navigate working together on Lucie's love life. The banter between them, along with the palpable sexual tension, makes you root for them from the start. I loved how we got to learn about both of their backstories and how this adds depth to the narrative.
This book had me feeling a whirlwind of emotions; I found myself laughing heartily at some moments, crying during the poignant scenes, and jumping for joy as the story reached its exhilarating peaks. The author masterfully took me on an emotional rollercoaster, crafting a narrative that was both engaging and deeply resonant. I was completely captivated by the vivid characters and their journeys. Now, after experiencing such a thrilling ride, I can’t wait for the next instalment in this captivating series! One question: And I must ask, with all the charm that HeartStrings brings to the story, where can I find my very own HeartStrings Jumper? It seems like the perfect accessory for a fan of this delightful tale!

I was genuinely excited to dive want to extend my heartfelt thanks to One More Chapter for providing me with an advanced reader copy of *The Gifted*. I was genuinely excited to dive into this book because its premise captivated me right from the start! Chiara, the main character, is intriguing; her morally grey and complex nature adds depth to her tragic journey. She has faced incredible hardships, yet her resilience in fighting for herself and her sister is truly inspiring. That said, I did encounter some challenges while reading. I felt it would have been beneficial to have trigger warnings for sensitive content, such as child abuse and sexual assault. These themes were quite overwhelming for me, particularly the child abuse aspect, and I found myself needing to take breaks to process my feelings. Overall, I appreciate the depth of the story and the emotional journey it offers, but I believe clearer guidance on sensitive topics would be invaluable for future readers.

From the moment Alouette walks the plank—revealing she can't swim—I was hooked.
The characters truly shine: Alouette is sharp and witty, while Edwin, the one-eyed thief, adds chaotic energy. Captain Atlas brings intensity and intrigue to their dynamic, filled with humour and depth.
Dorsch’s vibrant world-building, from bustling ports to elegant masquerades, creates both high-stakes moments and heartfelt scenes that deepen the story. With adventure, humour, and a hint of romance—especially the tension between Alouette and Atlas—this tale explores loyalty, identity, and trust.
A heartfelt thank you to Mia Dorsch for this ARC! I devoured it quickly and can’t wait for her next creation. If you enjoy fast-paced, heartfelt fantasy, grab this when it hits the shelves!

While some may view her uniqueness as a monstrosity, she is truly a rare gem that adds depth to her lineage. In contrast, we have Kyle, whose vibrant energy leaps off the page and instantly captivates readers. His character is wonderfully developed, and he quickly becomes a fan favourite, bringing humour and joy that brilliantly lightens the story’s mood. His presence balances the novel’s more serious themes, making the experience even more enjoyable.
This novel is a delightful read, effortlessly drawing you into its charming universe with a fluid narrative that keeps you engaged from the first page to the last. While the depiction of vampires may remind readers of the "Twilight" series, it skillfully weaves its own unique twists and turns. This connection only enhances its originality, crafting a mesmerizing tale full of mystery and emotion that will enchant anyone who takes the plunge into its captivating pages.

This book grabbed my attention from the start and shifted to a comfortable pace, allowing me to truly connect with the characters. I absolutely loved how they were introduced, making it exciting to get to know them better. The addition of the fairies brought an enchanting twist that added to the story! While I had a minor issue with the character naming that slightly hindered my enjoyment, it didn’t overshadow the overall delightful experience. I wholeheartedly recommend giving this charming read a try!

In this book, we are following Xander, the brother who only focuses on business and is a workaholic. He is going to get rid of their non-profit business that makes pralines and gets introduced to Baliley and Avery, the two sisters who run the operation. Bailey and Xander have an initial attraction at first but aren't acting upon it. It is nice to see how this changes over time and how Xander can have a heart. I really liked Avery as a support for Bailey, but yet again, the grandmothers made me laugh out loud with their strong will and determination. I love the scene with Xander and Bella. It shows how families are great and connect. I felt like this book was over in a flash, and I highly recommend reading it if you want a book filled with love, spicy, chocolate and pralines.

The chemistry between Wren and Torji you can cut through with a knife it is very well-written. I absolutely devoured this book and can't stop thinking of it . The romance, the fights, and the tension were absolutely fantastic, and I cannot wait to read more of this series already. The chapters are short and snappy, which adds to the tension within the book, and when I was reading, an hour flew by in 5 minutes; I highly recommend this book. ...more

I got about halfway through before I felt it was best to move on. The pacing was a bit slow for my taste, and I found the character development lacking, despite the intriguing premise and beautiful cover!
I encountered some challenges with the characters and the storyline. Initially, I struggled with the chapters focused on the ex-boyfriend, and it felt like I was stuck there. Wolfie was somewhat endearing, but Pippa didn’t connect with me as she seemed to lack confidence. I hoped for growth, but her character didn’t quite deliver for me. Looking forward to finding my next great read!.
