Pim’s night was anything but pleasant but there is a white light in the tunnel as she no longer is at the hands of Master A instead she has a new Master. Pim has arrived on the deck of the Phantom to a new life with a whole new set of rules. Elder never intended to steal Pim from her master but upon returning to the house he just couldn’t leave her behind and when he saw what was happening to her he took matters into his own hands. Now he’s got a girl who’s broken living on his boat that he can’t decide what to do with but he’s not willing to let her go.
As Pim heals from her injuries aboard the ship she get’s to see more of the man who stole her, learning more about him with each day. He hasn’t told her what his plans for her are beside learning all her secrets, leaving Pim feeling unsure and nervous about her future. As the two spend time aboard the ship they can’t deny the attraction for each other but she has issues that are deeper than just the injuries and he has the past that won’t let him move on just yet. Together they may find what they both need each other if he can let go, and she can learn to trust that he don’t want to hurt her.
I love Pim she’s been through hell but it hasn’t broken her if anything it’s made her stronger, and while she may be broken she’s going to never be the girl she was before being taken. I wasn’t sure about Elder at first but when he went back to get Pim I started to cheer him on. While he may have his own issues she may just be the what it takes to fix his heart and he hers. I like the chemistry between the two when she doesn’t have her flashbacks and he isn’t being guarded it just works well.
I’ve been anxiously waiting to get my hands on Dollars after the intense ending of Pennies. The story continues right after Pennies has ended telling the story of Pim’s time with Elder. I love the characters they are easy to connect with and the more I learn the more I love them both. Dollars is an emotional roller coaster that captures the heart as well as the imagination right from the start. This is a book that pulled me out of my comfort zone, I tend to avoid books that have taboo subjects but I can’t seem to get enough of this series. The whole concept of the book is fascinating, it’s one that I have a hard time putting down even though it’s not my typical read. The author has done a beautiful job telling an emotional story, her storytelling just flows and I love it. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one. One of my new favorite authors and series. Highly recommend because it’s just so stunning even if it is one of those books that you don’t normally read it’s worth giving the series a try. ...more

Will this pet fix what is broken and unique the family? We also have a little more of what’s going on with Leon and his little brother who happens to be staying with Count D.
I’m hooked on Pet Shop of Horrors it’s written as a series of short stories which have a larger story surrounding them. It’s this creepy concept of a pet shop that happens to not sell traditional pets. Each of the pets really fits into the owner life giving them exactly what they needed at that point in their life and some may not end happy ever after. I have to admit I enjoyed the concept it’s unique and fascinating I had a hard time putting it down because I wanted to know what would happen next. I like that each story is different some are sweet while others are tragic and down right scary. It’s an interesting concept with a unique spin that I’m just addicted too. I highly recommend. ...more

Aurora and her friends have been after Jared after everything he’s pulled even before she joined the agency. He’s on the run and until she can get justice she can’t leave Alaska to be with Fane just yet. As it get’s closer to Christmas it’s clear that the chance to find him before the new year may not happen anytime soon. All but Noel live on base but she’s willing to take the risk since Aurora has always been Jared’s obsession.
When a ladies night turns horribly wrong Aurora finds herself delivered to Jared by someone she thought she could trust. However, this gives her the chance to take care of Jared once and for all she just has to bide her time because he is determined to add her to his odd little family. Jared is also running with her old fellow agent Valerie who he also had a hand in creating and has gone off the deep end. Will Aurora ever get the chance she needs to take care of Jared?
I love Aurora she’s my favorite vampire hunter even if she just happens to be one of them herself. It’s not like she asked to be a vampire but at least she’s doing something good with it. She’s not had the easiest time with the agency but she’s made some amazing friends who have supported Aurora. For a long time I was torn between Fane and Dante but it all works out in the end at last.
I hate to admit I dragged on this one but it isn’t the books fault. I didn’t want it to end because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye just yet to Aurora and her friends. I was savoring every moment of the final showdown forcing myself to put it down after a chapter or two so I wouldn’t devour it all at once. That control ended last night when I had to finish the last half of the book and know how it would all play out. A truly unique concept that takes vampire hunters to a whole new level even if they have some corruption to deal with. I love the characters they are easy to connect with you can’t help falling in love with Aurora and her friends. True North is a captivating installment in the Aurora Sky series that doesn’t disappoint. I’ve enjoyed the authors writing style because she’s created a beautifully written story that captures the heart as well as the imagination. While I know this is the end for dear Aurora I secretly hope we will see more of her in the future. I highly recommend if your a fan of vampire hunter’s that you check out her series. ...more

Leon will have to trust Count D or he may never have the chance to bring him in. As if being kidnapped by terrorists wasn’t enough next Chris who is Leon’s younger brother has an encounter with a magical three headed dragon. Dangerous creatures are all around but even with the darkness there is till light like the girl who doesn’t want to play piano and saves a puppy.

In the 5th installment we are given a little more into the life of Count D as well as a insight into Detective Leon. The stories involve a congressman intent on solidifying his seat as future president. A runaway royal cat with ties to the future leader of a country. A dancer who is struggling with the fact that the man she loves has chosen another changing her future forever. Leon also brings his younger brother to the count to watch him as he has become his guardian. I like the new twist of Chris who’s joined the counts world.

In the 4th installment we are given a little more insight into who our Detective is because one of the cases requires him to get help from Count D when they find a house full of fish. With Count D’s help they are able to solve the case. They also have a vampire working it’s way across the country that is searching for something. I found the Dark Horse story interesting because it’s all about horse racing. We also had a chance to see Count D’s collection of horses that are inside of the pet shop. As well as a magical encounter with our detective.

In the 3rd installment we are given a little more into who Count D is and his relationship with the officer who is determined to catch him. We have 4 new stories for this installment but my favorite would have to be either the story about Daisy the dog who was unwanted by her owner or the story of Pappy the teddy bear that was given to a little girl to protect her. each story is unique with just little hints of what is really going on with Count D like the one about the rich young people who are disappearing and found murdered. We find that Count D is connected to the killer.

In the 2nd installment of Pet Shop of Horror we are given four new short stories of what happens when people bring home pets from the store. While the main focus is who is really Count D it’s the little bits we get that is intertwined within the stories. First up we have Count D’s trip to the museum with the officer who Is determined to prove he’s a bad guy. In this story the pet in question is actually a living dragon that he’s been nurturing for years. Next up is Dice which is my favorite of the four it follows the story of a girl who parents are murdered and she’s left with temporary blindness. She seeks out a seeing eye dog as well as a bodyguard. Returning home with a man who Count D is determined will protect her at any cost and forms a lifelong friendship. We also have the story of the guy down on his luck with the kitten Lady who turns into a child. Last was the story of the woman who falls off a boat and is turned into a mermaid that proves more than her husband can handle.

Ten years have passed now she's a studen Yuki was saved 10 years ago from an attack by a vampire but her savior was none other than a vampire himself. Ten years have passed now she's a student at Cross Academy working for the guard because she's one of two students who knows the truth about the night students that they are really vampires. Teamed up with Zero who survived a vampire attack that killed his family four years ago the pair works to keep them separate but it's hard when all the vampires are so attractive.
I like Yuki even if she does have a little hero worship for Kaname but he is a good guy, after all, he saved her life and keeps the other night students in check. I'm not sure about Zero he's got issues and it looks like things have changed dramatically for him since the attack. I'm not sure how the dynamic between these three is going to play out nor am I sure if one of them would be a good love interest just yet as both are vampires.
I've seen a few episodes of the anime years ago but I don't remember much of the story so I felt that this is a perfect time to dive right into the manga. The story is interesting we are just starting to see into our trio's world where vampires have recently come to the attention of the humans. I'm curious to see how it's going to work out with the tablet they are taking for the blood. I like the idea of humans and vampires both attending the school, and I'm curious to see how it's going to progress. I've heard so many great things about this manga and so far I'm hooked. The artwork is well done it fits with the words even though it's translated to English. ...more
