I adored the narrative following several protagonists as opposed to just one and getting such a profound insight into their everyday lives, friendships, beliefs and dynamics... but pure pain (I need to read the next of the series asap)

This was full of angst, yearning, HILARIOUS relatability, tons of pop culture references (which surprisingly, I didn't really mind ~ certain scenes had a little too much for my enjoyment but generally, I think it added to the story) and so much heart! I'm verryyyy excited to see how this translates to screen!...more

This was haunting, melancholic and so so beautiful. Following a 14 year old ghost who develops a tender obsession and fascination with novelist George Sand, this was superb. The dual timeline between Blanca observing George's mundane everyday routine paired with Blanca's past and the lead up to her death ~ Nell Stevens perfectly developed these characters and I couldn't help but fall in love with her narrative. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!...more

Recitatif is a genius piece of fiction detailing assumptions placed upon race, how relationships shape our lives and how the past (when unresolved and heavy) can alter our future. Would highly highly recommend!...more
