Is this author joking with the mob part? It's like a half written mob story and an insanely one sided second chance romance where the MC is literally pure evil selfish and cold. Yet Im unfortunately the type of reader that needs to see things through. I hated it. Sooo much.

I'm so obsessed with this entire world the author built. All of the books are interconnected and the characters are reoccurring. I love an interconnected series.
This level of building the backgrounds and stories of so many different characters takes skill. I truly love this author's work and all of the books and men that are so swoon worthy.
Luke Rhine is a retired army general who's best friends with Dillon Gannon's boss, the colonial. When Luke is in danger, Liam, the colonial, sends Dillon to Luke's side to protect him.
Leaving California and going to Luke's Arizona ranch leads to steamy tension, angst and fighting those feelings that you ultimately can't fight.
Dillon is emotionally exhausted and feels he has too much anger to ever be in a serious relationship. He's happy relegating his life to living on his ranch and taking care of the animals. Luke's ranch is an animal sanctuary which I found so sweet.
There's love and there's a battle which is common for the elite soldiers that are a part of the authors incredible world building.
She also has a great way of differentiating the characters in all of her books. There are so many books written, yet each man has his own unique voice.

This book is really cute and sweet but it also gets deep and romantic! I loved it. I usually love Kelly Fox romance novels because she gets deep in your soul and when her characters connect, it's the most adorable and relatable thing.
This book at first comes across as your average MM romance but let me tell you, I kept going back to reread some of my favorite scenes. I just adore these two. ...more

There were pros and cons for this story for me so I'll share my review in those terms.
The cons were that the book similar to the other one I read from this author, centered around family. That was a drawback from me because I really dislike the whole evil wealthy family trope.
But, fret not, the love connection made up for it.
I'm torn on this read. I feel like they made their love declarations way too early on. I also feel that the dad part at the end was very "wattapad" of this author.
I can't do any more family drama, so I'm scared to read anything else from Jaime Reese as I'm worried this author's MO is primarily consistent of family drama. ...more

Reasons: BORING Not enough scenes with the main characters together interacting. That right there ruined the book for me.
For chapters and chapters I had to listen to this boring story which was too predictable to maintain my interest.
I had to skip chapters of the most boring dialogue I've ever read. Blah blah blah. None of it was interesting.
I couldn't even get through the epilogue without being bored
I like books where the author writes a strong romantic love connection between the MC's.
This is my second book from this author and I've felt the same way in both books. This book really made me miserable while I was reading it. It was almost physically painful to get through this.
I feel as though the author tricked the reader by writing a strong angst in the beginning in order to keep the reader engaged enough to see how the two MC's would get back together. Yup, a dreaded break up where the two MC's don't interact throughout the book.
Mindless drivel of people trying to find out what was going on that was the entire book.
My God was this book poorly written! The plot was terrible, the writing felt juvenile as if a middle schooler would have written this book.
I started My God was this book poorly written! The plot was terrible, the writing felt juvenile as if a middle schooler would have written this book.
I started reading MM because it is so much better than MF. This terrible piece of trash book is an exception.
Truly one of the worst and honestly DUMBEST books I've ever read in my life. It doesn't even make sense and I found a spelling error. You can tell the author doesn't give a sh** because this book is from 2011. She didn't fix the error. That's weird.
The story is so stupid. It's about a young 22 year old man named Jory who witnesses a crime. Sam Kage is the detective assigned to the case.
I was SO DISAPPOINTED in Kane's character because I read about him in the other books and he seemed like such a stand up guy with a boss personality. In this book, he was a cheater, a liar and human trash. Sam doesn't even deserve to be a detective from what I read. He's so stupid. He's a stalker and a child. It's so weird !
He stalks Jory non stop and always ruins Jory's good time when he's hanging out with his friends. He is basically the typical alpha a-hole that I've read a million times in MF books but I never expected to see it in MM, even if the book was written in 2011.
We need to treat people with basic decency. No one thinks the jerk hero is hot. I guess this author just wrote this in 2011 and perhaps it was her first book.
Idk about Mary Calms.
The way she writes doesn't make sense a lot of the time. She doesn't explain anything and expects the reader to just read her mind and know where she's going with the story.
I don't think I'll ever read another book from her again after this one. ...more

I wish there was more romance and less silly scenes. I'm never a fan of comedy in romance novels. Well, Cora Rose does it perfectly and Patricia Logan and Leighton Greene are great with throwing in some comedic relief.
I can't take it anymore and the more I read, the angrier I am. I'm angry at myself for not having the ability to just DNF this stupid series. ...more

It must be read in order as the story follows a larger story line. Each book is written to completion, however the story of the two men grows with each book as does their love.
Just when you think Patricia Logan can't get any better and you can't possibly love a couple more than the one in the book you just read, you search Logan's catalogue and uncover more magic. Pure, emotional, heart stopping, page turning passion heat and true love!
The story of Jarett and Thayne is one you'll never see coming. It'll blow you away with its page turning twists.
You will never expect the way they each grow as individuals and how epically Patricia Logan writes the two men. Both of these two men are hurt by life in their own way.
Thayne is angry he has to be in Witsec after being undercover for two years. Thayne works for the ATF. His last mission to get one of the world's most dangerous criminals was brutal. Thayne has experienced great loss while he has been gone. He's angry at his boss, the ATF and the arms dealer he had to be around for 2 years.
All Thayne wanted was peace. His boss had other ideas assigning the white haired and blue eyed mysterious Jarret Evans to be in charge of his safety until Thayne had to testify against his tormentor.
Jarret, a man you will no doubt love, was just as much as beaten down by life as Thayne. As a former Marine sniper, Jarret has faced his great share of loss from his time in the Marine Corps. He is jaded and has never believed a man like him could ever find true love. You will read this story and be right there with Jarret and know his mind as well as you know your own.
You will live in this story as the world building the author writes is perfection. This is why I love Gay Romance!
Follow Thayne and Jarret along as they find themselves, let down their walls and find love. After all, love is all that matters. They are truly soul mates in every sense of the word. The author captures the real moments that happen when a couple falls in love. I appreciate that.
This is one of my favorite stories and my favorite couple. Talk about Boyfriend Goals! Everyone will want to watch Thayne and Jarret together. It's pure enjoyment from start to finish in this entire series!!

I wasn't interested in the story and had to force myself to finish this when I wanted to DNF it twice and came really close. The thing is, I know in the author's mafia series that it's best if you read all of the books in order. So I did. I would highly recommend you start with the other mafia series she has written if this is your first look into author Leighton Green'a work.
The Morelli Family Series, the entire world the author creates with her mafia series starts there. I strongly suggest that you read Married To The Mobster first.
Then, in the last book of that series we meet the one of main characters in this book, Jack. Officially Johnny Jacopo.
So this is what I didn't like about the book. Johnny aka JJ or Jack is kind if a depressed downer the entire book. He feels like he made some big mistake in his past surrounding the Castilli Family who he is working for. Due to his guilt, he stayed in the Castelli Mafia "Family" and allowed himself to be demoted and treated like garbage by his fellow mobsters. It's not a huge issue of bully or anything, I just mention that to say, he's highly depressed and always sulking and it's a huge reason, probably 50% of why I didn't like this book.
I didn't like that the Main mafia character was a loser and thought of himself as one. I prefer my mafia males to be obviously hot but also, rugged, ready to those down and cocky. He was neither of those things although I'll give it to him that he did save the other MC Miller a bunch of times.
Basically there is a huge mystery in this book that Jack has to solve. Miller also gets involved and they end up working together to solve the issue. So it's a very suspenseful book but lacked the romance I need to love a romance novel.
I didn't feel a connection or any love between these two MCs. I would have loved more passion, more angst, more anything regarding that type of heart warming emotion that makes you love a book.
It just wasn't for me at all. I felt frustrated but I am highly excited for the next book and I have loved MOST of the author's books.
I didn't like one of the books in the Morelli Series that much so I'm hoping this is just a fluke and I'll love Sandro's story because I was into him without even knowing too much about him.
Still, Leighton planted the seeds. And they are very delicious, dark and dangerous seeds! Just the kind I love. I have a feeling that in the next book I'm going to fall in love with Santo. He's got that BDE that I love in my mafia MCs!
Wow! Mind blown because let me just say... this book is absolutely AMAZING if you love romance and love love! I'm one oI will NEVER forget these two!
Wow! Mind blown because let me just say... this book is absolutely AMAZING if you love romance and love love! I'm one of those people who adores a book about two soulmates who find each other and have magical moments of true love that you really understand if you've been in love yourself.
When going into Crease you already know Max from books 1-3. If you don't already know who Max is, let me stop you now and say you should probably go back and read at least book 1 Shiver (it's also amazing). Book 2 is a 3 person relationship which I don't like so I skipped. I really only like and find palatable 2 person relationships but that's just me. We all have our own kinks and preferences which speaking of... back to Max and Crease. My GOD is this book HOT!!!
Deep, passionate, loving, surprisingly epic and HOT AF are only a few of the adjectives that come to mind when I think about this book. It doesn't even begin to cover how passionate this was.
This is not your regular MM hockey romance. In fact, there's very little hockey.
I wish more books were like this. Less background stupid unnecessary story line and more focus on the 2 main characters! I love when romance novels have scenes where the 2 MC's just find each other's souls and connect on a deep level. That's what you'll find here.
The way Deryke who's German (yass) loves Max is the kind of love I think every person in the world wants. A deep soul touching love.
Crease is a: Hockey Hurt/Comfort Gay/Bi-awakwning
Romance that starts when a straight hockey player, Deryke is on vacation in Kala, the well known gay island that's meant for fun and freedom from cameras runs into Max Latham, who's also a well known hockey player. They've always known each other on a surface level, but something happened to Max recently and it changed him. He just wants to be left alone to dwell in his own misery.
What he doesn't expect is to find himself so suddenly needy and craving for his NFL rival.
You guys... this book seriously hot hot hot! If you love hurt/comfort, there's no better book than this.
I am in love with everything about this story and everything about Deryke and Max.
I LOVE in a gay romance novel where the characters are obsessed with each other on a super needy/clingy level! Crease is all about codependency and I am ALL about that!
Codependency to me, is the best part of a romance. In a novel as well as real life. I was in awe of how well the author wrote the codependency between Max and Deryke! I love when an author writes UNAPOLOGETIC codependency! I can't stress that enough!
I know there are alof of exclamation marks used here but my God, I'm tired of reading about independence and not about neediness. I love neediness in men! It's my absolute favorite part of a romance story where one person is literally obsessed and willing to give everything to the other person. Max was open and raw. Just how I like them! This story was EVERYTHING!
I wish I could live in this book honestly. I would read about these two every day for the rest of my life. I could read about these two just eating breakfast and doing nothing all day and I would be happy due to how openly raw and obsessed with Deryke Max is! Gahhh I'm just so sad it's over now....more

So son in law/son in law, MM, billionaire, age gap, forbidden, great read! It was fast yet did tend to drag. I think this could have been 1 book rather than a duet. The story abruptly stops so the duet is really one long book. Still, it's worth the read.
The Charles character is an adorable yet cold 48 year old man ... yes!! I love when characters are in their 40s!! I'm not in my 40s yet but something about men almost 50 makes me soooo hot. If I was single currently at 37, I'd go for someone 48 minimum and I'd go up to 65.
I can see why August "Auggie Long" a much younger 25ish year old, is so attracted to Charles. Charles is such a cutie and just too good for the world. He wants to raise a baby that may not even be his just to the little baby a good life; he wants to make up with his son who he didn't have the best relationship with and blames himself for.
The issue is obviously the family aspect of it all because this is a weird relation but only by marriage.

This book is my favorite in the series.
What I hated: I don't like how controlling the one MC, Sawyer is. It's extremely annoying. If you like those controlling tell the other what to do, you'd love this.
It could have been more passionate but it seemed mechanical.
