I liked learning Gaston’s backstory and relationship with the prince (Kingsley). However, Gaston’s character is so entirely opposite what we saw of him in the movie that it was kind of hard to accept. And did we need another book covering Beauty and the Beast? It would be more fun to hear the backstories of villains from movies not yet included in the series. I am looking forward to the next book....more

We know Sam has been watching over her, and Grace feels connected to his wolf. A sweet, wolfy romance that spans three books and is a delight to read. The story is told from multiple POVs, and I like seeing the different viewpoints. Book one was my favorite, and three was my least favorite, but overall a great series....more

The evil queen is misunderstood. The witch is trying to help the family. The dwarves are boys who are being forced to work in a mine. Snow White is used to living in a castle with all the privileges that come with it. When forced to flee that comfort, she learns survival skills and takes care of seven boys in a cabin in the woods. The story was a little slow going, and I kept thinking everyone was lying. But as I waited for the other shoe to drop, the story unfolded. Overall, the book was good but not extraordinary - a good retelling that fans of Snow White will enjoy. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review....more

So, there is a video game called The Mirrorverse involving Disney heroes with amplified power tasked as Guardians fighting against evil beings createdSo, there is a video game called The Mirrorverse involving Disney heroes with amplified power tasked as Guardians fighting against evil beings created by Fractured Magic. This book turns that into an action-packed story. Snow White discovers abilities she didn’t know she had and joins Mickey and the Guardians in fighting against the Evil Queen, who uses fractured magic to create creatures who attack them. I enjoyed the story. Seeing Snow White realize she was more than just a damsel in distress was fabulous. Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, Stitch, and Sulley are also part of the Guardians, and it’s fun to watch them banter and work together to fight evil. Hades helps the Guardians and delivers some funny sarcasm along the way. If you are a Disney fan, then this book is for you....more

This book turns the first one on its head. The School for Good is now the School for Girls, and Evil is the School for Boys. Instead of Good and Evil being enemies, Girls and Boys are. Princesses and Witches live together without the need for Princes. The animosity between the two schools is much worse, and Agatha and Sophie are determined to fix it. I still have difficulty accepting Agatha and Sophie’s friendship. I like this book better than the first, and the cliffhanger ending was very promising. ...more

Sophie had waited all her life to be kidnapped. - first line
I love Agatha, but I don’t get her friendship with Sophie. Sophie is awful and completely self-centered. I like how this book turns the ideals of good and evil on their heads. It shows that being beautiful outside doesn’t mean you are good on the inside. And people that aren’t stereotypically fairy-tale beautiful aren’t necessarily evil. Agatha has a good heart even though she doesn’t like most people and dresses for comfort instead of to impress. Thus, she ends up in the School for Good, and Sophie who is princess-pretty but selfish and uncaring on the inside ends up in the School for Evil. I didn’t love the book, but it had enough promise that I will continue the series. ...more
