My biggest issue withBecause we need to make it SUPER CLEAR in the reading and writing community that WRITING IS, AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN, A HUMAN CRAFT.
My biggest issue with this author is the "apology" she put out in comparison to the AI prompt that was found in her book.
In her apology, the author says she used AI to "help edit and shape parts of the book" because "simply can’t afford a professional editor". BUT the AI prompt in the book says "I have rewritten the passage to align more with J. Bree's style..." Rewritten. The AI prompt says "rewritten". Not "edited". I don't believe her BS apology at all because that was a conscious and deliberate attempt to plagiarise and "rewrite" using another author's style. She didn't use AI for "editing". She used it to write the book. Anyone with two braincells will look at the AI prompt and her apology and see how they're completely different.
I will never accept or respect anyone who calls themselves an aUtHoR or wRiTeR but uses a machine to create for them. They're called a "writer" because they write. If you don't write, you are not a writer. Feeding a prompt into a machine does NOT make you a writer. Writing has become worse than garbage in recent years because for some reason everyone now believes they can be a writer. No.
Not everyone can be a writer. Not everyone is a writer. Not everyone should be a writer.

As soon as the male lead goes to the FMC tribe, the women jump him and try to undress him if I remember right. It was absolutely disgusting, and the REASON I dipped out of the book was when one of the women outright said "if this situation was turned around, it would be horrific" or something like that. Like it's terrible for a bunch of men to hold a woman down and grope her, but it's okay when it's a man?
Gross. That is triggering as heck for some people. There are far better ways to write this trope. ...more

I've already figured out that Rina Kent is just not an author for me because her writing is absolute garbage. Like, wattpad garbage but make it worse because some books on wattpad were better than this. It is so immature and undeveloped, and I am amazed at anyone hyping her work. The ideas are sometimes there, I'll give her that, but her writing is so bizarrely underwhelming that I really believe anyone who enjoys her books just doesn't read much?
Tell me what is there to like about her characters? They're all so dumb and childish.
I am so sick and tired of authors writing rape and assault and romanticising it. Dark romance has really lost its meaning, and it's impossible to even find anything truly "dark romance" because it's all just rape fantasies being glorified. ...more

The idea of this book had everything I wanted but it was a massive disappointment. I understand the heroine went through something traumatic, but GODDAMN the amount of crying, flinching, wincing, shaking, shivering, throwing up, gasping, panting is just TOO MUCH. Also used too much were the words humiliated, pain, shame, and torture. The author must really love those. This needed editing VERY BADLY! The book was horribly long, and I don't think the author understood the words she used because they made no sense. Literally while reading this, I thought this was an unedited wattpad book.
At 30% of the book, I was genuinely shocked and annoyed I was nowhere near the end. It was too damn long and too damn boring.

So many kinks listed in the warnings were my jam, but the thing that I would have LIKED to be warned about was that the guy shares her with his friends. I did not sign up for this shit. I thought it was just going to be a MF romance, but there was absolutely no romance or feelings between them other than lust from her and... I don't even know what he felt. "Sexual group activities" is not a good enough warning. I thought it was just going to be randoms in the background doing dumb shit. NOT the male lead sharing her with three of his friends.
Jessica? I'd slap that dumbass back to her mama's womb if I ever met her. Her friend Ashley was SO much better and smarter. Authors need to stop writing weak, pathetic and stupid female leads just to make their male leads seem more "alpha". No. It makes him just as stupid.

To the people who recommended this book to me, shame. I did not enjoy this book at all and it was mostly because of that atrocious trope of "females! We need females!" If I see one more book with that trope, I will BURST! But more than that, it was *how* the trope was executed. Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians had that theme, as did Ella Maven's Drixonian series, but why these books/authors excelled and did well for me was because of the way the females were treated and spoken about; they were treated like living beings, valued and adored. I love that, because we already live in a society where women are possessions and objects. I do not need or want to read that shit in books, especially the alien/monster stuff I love. So this did horribly for me because as soon as the women arrive, they were being snatched and taken by the aliens because they're a "boon" and "prize" for the tribes. Tribes were going to go to war over them because warriors could finally break their celibacy and find mates. The whole mate thing seemed like it was forced on the women. Just because a warrior found he had a mate, that's it. The woman had to accept and couldn't do anything about it. The author made great talk about how the females had "a choice to reject" but that's not how the "warriors" behaved, spoke, or thought. The men even talked about how they had a claim over the women WHO THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW OR COULD SPEAK WITH! BRUH! These people talked about the women like they were buying chicken from an auction! YUCK!
I stopped reading this book 4 times, then at the 58% mark, I was skimming pages and only really read the dialogue. The ending was not a HEA for me. For once, I would really love to see a woman stand with her people and fight for more rights and freedom than just being a mate to a warrior. I really hate how quickly and easily these women give up everything and just roll over in scifi books.
Obviously, I won't continue this series. Didn't enjoy the author's writing either, so I'm not sure if I'll read from her again. ...more

I should have looked at the 1-star reviews on Amazon but no, sci-fi and alien romance is my jam but this was revolting, repulsive garbage. I'm not even censoring spoilers because f this. If you're going to write about "soldier" women, make it make sense. They get captured and they're cowering immediately? I mean at least the others went on hunger strikes and tried to rebel somehow but the main character was absolutely PATHETIC and I couldn't stand her. "I won't make it easy" or "I won't go down without fighting" bitch where? She slapped him once and called it quits. Didn't even go off at him for drugging and taking her consent! He literally said to the women either fuck my warriors or be sold into whorehouses, and I'm supposed to believe his people "prizes" women and "treat you well"?? There's apparently another species that can breed with them and give them lots of sons in one go, but of course it's the puny humans they want.
I am sick and tired of authors writing women as brainless, hormonal walking wombs and vaginas that are only good for one thing and melt at the slightest hint of an attractive male. I read fantasy and sci-fi to escape the shitty reality we live in. I do not want to read about women being forced and raped and written as "soft cunts" whose sole purpose is to "comfort" men. I also do not want kidnapping, coercion, manipulation and force to be written as "flattering" like that main female character said. How the f is it flattering to have your will and consent taken and be forced into sex slavery? I'm supposed to believe rape is flattering?! Barf bitch. I'd rather die a slow painful death.

Let me start by saying that I love Lycans. Absolutely love these creatures, and I was in the mood for a dark Lycan romance book. BUT THIS BOOK WAS NOT IT! I HAVE READ BETTER BOOKS ON WATTPAD WRITTEN BY A 13 YEAR-OLD! I can't even properly think enough to type this review. I honestly didn't even want to write a review for this, but here goes. It's a long rant because I need to vent and let it all out. Spoilers ahead.
From the very first chapter, the very first thing that I asked myself was "did anyone edit this shit?" because there is no way - absolutely no way - that any professional editor would have read this book and gone "yep, good to go". NO! This whole book needed so much fixing! 5 chapters into this book and I cannot count how many times I asked myself "has this book been edited? Did anyone edit this? WHO EDITED THIS SHIT?"
Here is why.
THE WRITING The writing is too. Damn. Repetitive. Too damn immature and juvenile. I don't know this author or how many books she's written, but this reads worse than a first draft, and I know that because I work with authors and beta read/edit for some. This easily falls into the worst writing I have ever read. It was so repetitive and so stupid that I often skipped PARAGRAPHS because it literally said the same thing over and over. "My female", "male", "masculine" and "flavour" had no business being repeated so much. What foking flavour? In the last 10 chapters or so, I was just skipping to the dialogue. The writing made no damn sense. I don't know this author, but it felt like a 12 year old wrote this. I just have no words to describe it, but let me give you an example: when they were having sex and she was moaning to no end, she "undiluted" beneath him. UNDILUTED? IS SHE LIQUID OR SOMETHING? IT'S UNDULATED! WHO THE HELL EDITED THIS? WAS THIS EVEN EDITED? I just cannot rant enough about how horrible the writing was! Please author. Whoever your editor was, if you even had one, demand a refund asap.
THE CHARACTERS Mika has the mental capacity and the personality of a rock, and even that is insulting to rocks. Who meets someone within 24 hours and immediately goes "god I'm so wet, he's so mAlE, I want him, everything he says is tRuTh" yeah like every word that fell from his lips was bible. I have never read a character dumber than this, and I can list A LOT! That chapter where she runs because he told her to, and she's like "I'm running from my mate because he will claim me" like she just accepted everything so quickly and so easily. Honestly. This girl's only personality trait was to be his mate and fok toy. That is it. I cannot tell whose POV was the hardest to read from, because Ren was just as bad, although he was more repetitive. "My female, my mate, mine, I waited centuries. NEED. FEMALE. NOW! FEMALE!" If I read female one more time, I will bash his head with a shovel. Literally in one of the first 5 chapters he said something like "another night alone" and I yelled UGH GROW UP! This guy was constantly thinking that as soon as he met this "female made only for me", he would take her from her life because she was his. Like her sole purpose for existing is FOR HIM. Buddy get some sex toy or something if that is all you're after. Also the AMOUNT of times he said he was big, thick, tall, and referred to his dick as "long, thick, big, huge" etc LIKE CAN SOMEONE PLEASE COME AND PUT THIS ANIMAL DOWN? This one time he said his dick was the "thickest part of me"... so like how thin are your legs? Your arms? Your body in general? Because if his dick is the thickest part of him, perhaps he was the main character and I missed the memo. THE GRANDMA! OMG I CANNOT LIST HOW MANY TIMES I ROLLED MY EYES AND SLAPPED MY FOREHEAD! Her only purpose in this book is to *encourage* Mika to seek the woods and "fulfil her purpose" because you cannot go or be somewhere without it being on purpose. Her coming to this village is so she can fUlFiL hEr DeStInY. I don't know who I wanted to kill the most out of those three characters. Probably the grandma.
THE PACING Too damn fast and all over the place. Their entire relationship happens in one week. ONE WEEK. This betch meets the man one day, gets ate out on his dining table the next night, foks him the whole night a few days later (both are apparently virgins, but they both go all night and hardcore??? And he's a natural sex god???). A few days later, she's attending the mating ceremony to be shown off to other lycans that she's mated to Ren and belongs to him. Fast-forward to two years later and she's pregnant with his twins, foking in his castle every morning and night.
THE PLOT Who?

But bring in the four cliche male leads and she becomes sooooo pathetic. I couldn't. The change was too much too fast, and I couldn't handle it. I gave up on this book when the FMC was found and brought back after her escape, and she was so chill and calm about it after everything she went through. She just accepted it and was like "yup, I'm happy now". Um, excuse me wtf? I am literally still pissed that I don't even want to go into details about this book. The "hero" is disgusting, and not once did I feel anything for him. And what the heck was this thing with Eryx? He might as well have been a part of the mating bond because he was literally always there with them, and he had feelings for the MC. I genuinely thought this would be a threesome book, but he was just there for no reason. This book was also really confusing and disjointed in the first half. Like I would be reading a paragraph and then something entirely unrelated would be said and I'd literally need to backtrack and read again to make sure I didn't skip a page or a paragraph.
If this review was confusing, it's because I don't even know what to think. In short, this was major wasted potential. One star for that. ...more

Good writing? Meh. Solid storyline? Who?
So just because a story has "good sex scenes" it is good? That's such a damn shame.
The idea was interesting. But I didn't like that it was quite literally human trafficking. Women over the age of 18 were left out at night, blindfolded, barely wearing anything, left out for anyone to see while they stood alone and terrified. And then the creatures just come and snatch them off and leave. Only women over 18. Misogynistic and disgusting.
Red's character was so inconsistent and irritating as hell. Who calls themselves weak every time they open their mouth? She has no respect for herself, and she can't make up her mind. She says she won't do one thing in the first sentence and the next sentence she'll do exactly what she said she won't.
The book is riddled with errors and inconsistencies, but since this is a Wattpad story I don't judge too harshly on that. It's Wattpad. People write for fun and rarely do you find a well-written story on there. This story is not one of those rare ones. It seems people rave about it just because of the sex, and that is honestly so disappointing. Readers and reviews these days are hard to trust because slap a sex scene in a story and hundreds of people will tell you its amazing, regardless of the plot and writing. ...more

For some reason, Amazon isn't letting me leave a review, so I'll post it here. Possible spoilers ahead a super long, critical review.
I totally, fully, completely, honestly, genuinely regret reading this book. Was that too repetitive? Well, that's how the author's style seems to be, based on her two books that I read. To give you an exact quote from the book:
"Oh, no. This was bad. Bad. Bad. Bad. Bad. Bad." ... "Over and over and over again." This one right here was repeated so much that I honestly cannot stand the phrase now.
I was SO intrigued by the 5-star reviews on Amazon and all the raves, but I now genuinely believe they're all from her friends or super-loyal fans because honestly, how in the world did this book get all the good ratings that it has?
Characters: ISABELLA pissed me off the most. She was supposedly a strong, powerful wolf who wanted to be a warrior more than anything, and that was admirable because she wanted to protect her people. Where I hated her was her disrespectful comments about Vanessa when the woman honestly never did anything wrong, as far as I remember? Vanessa was mostly nice, but just because she was constantly flirting with men, she was a "whore", a "try-hard", and my favourite which is given to any girl who is flirty, "bitch". Excuse me, but what the hell? Isabella was the bitch in this story, no offence. I absolutely could not connect with her. Isabella was also introduced as a fierce warrior, and I would have liked to *see* more of that. Her flirting to complete her mission isn't fierce. Her killing a rogue or two *just like that* isn't fierce. I wanted to see more of her strategising, plotting, intimidating and doing something other than growling or just slashing her nails across someone's skin.
VANESSA didn't deserve any of the disrespect or hate she received. A few times in the story I even thought she LIKED Isabella because she showed so much interest in her. That would have been such a plot twist! Even though we didn't get much from her, Vanessa was probably my favourite character (if I had to choose one).
And then there was ROMAN. The guy was basically nonexistent in this book unless they were having sex. He was always so hard on Isabella for no reason before she turned 18 and when she finally did, his personality does a 180. And he was the Alpha? Where? We literally saw nothing that displayed him as the Alpha. It would have been much better if he was a common wolf, because he really didn't do shit. Raj was heaps better, and he was just a side character.
Chemistry: Who? There was zero connection between Isabella and Roman. They fought most of the story and when they were not fighting, it's because Roman had his fingers in her pants. I didn't get the vibe that they were mates or that there really were any intense feelings between them. It was all physical. The scenes with Raj and Jane, although brief, showed far more affection than what Roman and Isabella ever displayed. Towards the very end (final 3 or so chapters), Isabella just suddenly and randomly blurts out "I love Roman". With the way they kept dancing around each other, I expected the revelation to be a bit... more. But it was just thrown there, just like the sex in the final chapter.
The sex scenes were boring. They just seemed so stiff, rushed and thrown there just because. It wasn't hot. It wasn't erotic. It wasn't special. It was simply... tedious. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the sex scenes in Come Here, Kitten were better, and I hated those as well.
Plot: The book has 55 chapters I believe and only when we get up to I think chapter 45 do we start to see the plot *somewhat* moving. The story progressed so slowly. There was nothing exciting happening in the beginning, and then when we reach the final 5 or so chapters, it's basically arushtothefinishline. Like that. The rescue was too fast. Ryker's death was too fast. The Lycans acknowledging Isabella as their leader was too fast. It all happened in literally one night. You had 45+ chapters to lay out the plot and the storyline, but ended up dragging it all only to rush it at the end. The book is incomplete and unsatisfying.
Writing Style: I said it once and I'll say it again, the writing comes off as immature and childish, boring even. I don't know if this is because of the characters' pov or the author's actual style, but it's honestly hard to enjoy. It's also repetitive. I get that there are certain things you need for dramatic effects but not to THAT extent. Some things are better left unsaid to allow the reader to connect the dots, to think, to theorise and keep guessing. Repeating things hinders the story and progress. Also, the author has no grasp whatsoever of the show-don't-tell. We get told the character is hurt, angry, sad, scared, etc but never actually shown anything.
Final Thoughts: Judgemental female. An "Alpha" male who does nothing. Swift and sudden fighting scenes. Plain and pointless sex scenes. All tell and no show. Repetitive and immature writing. Totally misleading reviews. Isabella could have been less bitchy and more thoughtful. Roman could have been shown as the leader he was said to be. The sex scenes could have been more intimate between them, or even just small gestures of affection would have gone a long way. The fighting scenes should've lasted for longer than 2 seconds, and the story could have moved a little quicker and had some suspense to keep the reader hooked. I wish people who left reviews told you why they give the ratings they do rather than just gushing or hating without giving an actual, helpful review. ...more
Seeing other people give this book 1 or 2 stars makes me feel not so abnormal because HOW CAN YOU LIKE THIS BOOK?! How can you connect with the femaleSeeing other people give this book 1 or 2 stars makes me feel not so abnormal because HOW CAN YOU LIKE THIS BOOK?! How can you connect with the female character? How can you enjoy the stiff and emotionless writing? Is this the male we are supposed to love and cheer for?
The male lead is just like any other male lead in romance stories these days: "asshole alpha" or "alphahole". On that note, CAN WE STOP THIS "ALPHA" BS AND SHOW MORE MALE DIVERSITY?! People are so hard-pressed about lack of body diversity or skin diversity, but can we please address the lack of male representation, too? I am so SICK of reading about "alpha" males and assholes. Manwhores, especially, need to be scrapped. I hated whenever we were in Vicious's point of view. He saw himself better than anyone else and had one of the worst God complexes I've ever read about. Not only that, but the way he treated women. I cannot count how many times he made me roll my eyes and scoff. This is attractive? This? Nah brother pass it on.
And weak, spineless females. Um, hello? Have you ever mingled with girls before? VICIOUS, I tell you! Considering the bullying Vicious put her through and the way he ruined her life, you'd think the girl would have some sense and hate him. But no because oH gOd He'S hOt! Douse him in ice. That will hopefully get him to calm down a little.
Overall: this is a concept that has been countless times and has failed countless times. Modern authors are ruining the "Romance" genre for me. They are really messing things up now and I hate the "standards" they are setting up. I hate books that teach people that blackmailing, bullying, degrading, whoring, being a cold asshole, ruining someone's life and treating them worse than you would treat a piece of furniture is okay SO LONG AS you are hot, rich or have some sad backstory. You're good to go as long as you look like a model and have some cash. A sob story will be the cherry on top but you're fine.
This isn't romance. This is something I've seen in CRIME documentaries. Please stop glorifying bullies and assholes and "alpha males" in stories. Even cave people weren't this bad. ...more
I don't normally give books a negative review, but I just had to put this out there so people know what they are getting into since most of the reviewI don't normally give books a negative review, but I just had to put this out there so people know what they are getting into since most of the reviews are, in my opinion, misleading. This review might contain spoilers, so proceed with caution.
I first stopped reading this book at chapter 4 because I just couldn't get into the writing, but after a few months, I decided to give it another go and really see what the hype is about. I know the author has another book published and it has a lot of five-star reviews, so I really wanted to experience what other readers were experiencing. The blurb for this book seemed promising and the reviews did, too.
However, I fully gave up on the story on chapter 19, and I personally won't be reading from this author again for the following reasons.
This book was WAY too repetitive. It was basically "Moon Goddess" this and "Moon Goddess" that, "my pussy" this and "my pussy" that, but it was mostly "I clenched" and "my pussy clenched". I could not stop rolling my eyes because EVERY paragraph had "I clenched", "Moon Goddess" and "my pussy clenched" like for the love of God, this was so cringey to read! Overusing "pussy" and "clenched" does not make this erotic. It makes it hard to read.
Another thing that really irritated me was Ares or Mars or whatever he wants to call himself. He was your typical arrogant asshole. For me, there was zero chemistry between the two main characters. Ares, especially, saw Aurora as more of a body than his "mate". He just shoves his fingers inside her whenever he likes, eats her out whenever he wants and fucks her with no questions. Is she really his mate or his whore? We constantly got told that he is "so dominant" but we never see anything to justify why or how. "Commanding" people to do something doesn't automatically make you dominant. Neither does being "rough" during sex.
Aurora was another character that I personally disliked. She was constantly contradicting herself and that made it really difficult to connect with her. One moment she hates Ares and the next she's drooling over him. One moment he's the worst creature ever and the next "Moon Goddess, I want him". The inconsistencies are just overwhelming.
And then there are the sex scenes. People are hyping them so much that it was honestly disappointing when I got to read the book because I had such high expectations. The sex was bland and repetitive. It was also meaningless and sometimes cringe-worthy. Sex does not make a story, but that's what people choose to focus on apparently.
The author had an interesting idea, but she horribly killed it with a cliche male character, annoying female lead, repetitive phrases, and immature writing.
