It is a very dark and gothic novel, with a traumatized hero, who seeks revenge and wants to destroy his father in every possible way. The heroine is caught in between. The hero is obsessed by her, follows her, rapes her and then blackmails her, literally. Nothing is sweetened here, description are very crude and hard to bear, the heroine is a victim that anyway tries to stand for herself. The hero is a sociopath, damaged and unable to have a sane relationship with anyone but eventually he tries to be a better man, and the heroine will be strong until the end. I don’t want to spoil too much but if you want an angsty and very passionate reading that’s for you. Not for sensitive people....more

The heroine was kidnapped and raped as a child, she was so horribly abused that she can’t have children. Or so she thinks. Since we’re in hpland all is possible and everything you know is not true. She’s been sheltered and she doesn’t go out often, but one night her identical twin asks her to go in her place to a function. The book is part of a series of four books regarding four brothers that are accidentally two couples of identical twins. It’s a rich and very famous family so they are all vips. There she meets a handsome prince and decides for once to be a lil reckless. Because she’s tired of staying at home while all her family worries about her. They have a ons and then she leaves the morning after. This hero/ prince knows this would be probably his last glory night because he’s getting engaged with a woman with a proper pedigree. But things go differently. Because the condom broke and even if the heroine thinks she can’t get pregnant she does. But our hero doesn’t know she’s pregnant and in the following months he’s become engaged as provided to a proper woman and is about to marry her when on the tabloids he sees his former ons heavily pregnant. The good prince them kidnaps the traumatized pregnant woman and basically forces her to marry. And this is where things become interesting. Because the poor heroine suffers from severe PTSD and panic attacks that leaves her shattered for hours. And of course being kidnapped is a trigger and she has one of those attacks. There’s a very weird thing that happens because her siblings are always available every time she calls because they feel all terribly guilty and so there’s this strange co dependance that all four have. And so the prince who only wanted one last night of sex without worries, finds himself in a very delicate situation with a pregnant woman who also has PTSD and a fiancée who now is no more his fiancée. Hero and heroine get married but only for one year. He can’t stay married to her because he has to have at least two children and after the first traumatic birth the heroine can’t have any more children. And since his grandmother is the one with the balls and she has decided that he has to divorce the heroine and remarry to have other babies the hero who is the most beta of betas, accepts meekly his destiny. Ok, in the end he refuses to divorce the heroine and there’s a very original ending with another child that his identical twin carried for her. Jeez if this isn’t kinky. I can’t say that the book wasn’t original. The heroine was sweet and traumatized. It was very angsty that she had to suffer all those things when she was a child then suffer again when she was adult. I find her ability to love and move on really amazing. She deserved better and even a better hero. The hero is a pussy. He is mama’s boy and I didn’t like that he was ready to give her up without a fight because grandmama said so. A reference to some real prince? Ehem? Eventually all is well but in this case I really didn’t feel his love for the heroine....more

We have an actress and a billionaire, they fall in insta lust. And when I say instalust I mean literally. He sees her and jumps like a tiger, kissing her and touching her like there’s no tomorrow. Didn’t even say hello. They are caught by a paparazzi and decide to pretend to be a couple for some time. She’ll have some publicity for her movie, he will have attention on that instead of the scandal regarding his mother. They are a troubled pair, she has an awful past, he too. Eventually they will find love and peace. I loved them both. The heroine was really brave, she was raped when she was 15 by her uncle and got pregnant, she gave her son for adoption because her parents abandoned her. A terrible story, something that unfortunately happens in real life. The hero was abandoned by his mother when he was a child and she had other children so he felt rejected. I loved how AG managed to put them together, despite their past. I would recommend it to those who have not issues with rape and adoption....more

Here we are really over the top, the hero planned his revenge on the heroine’s father (which is dead by the way) for 10 years. He had her followed and then made her go to his mansion where he blackmailed her to reveal the world her father was a murderer. And she accepts to marry him. Then she tries to escape but falls and hurts herself, but the hero doesn’t leave her. We have a hero who is definitely a sociopath, a man with so many issues I can’t even tell where to begin. He tries to make her jealous and pretend he has an affair with a gorgeous woman that is - his cousin! Of course the heroine is affronted, the hero rapes her (it was her first time) and they are separated for weeks. Then he tells her he loves her and she divorces him. No! She is happy because she loves him too. The rapist manic sociopath! This is more I can stand. ...more

In this one the hero deserved to be beaten on his thick skull repeatedly, maybe he improved his IQ. He doesn’t want commitments like wife and children so when he starts seeing our heroine, he’s very clear: no strings attached! Everyone is free to do as he pleases, so I think he was entitled to have his opinion about how he would live his life, and the heroine was free to accept or to refuse. She accepts. Nature of course thinks differently and after some months she finds out she’s pregnant. Instead of telling him ( it takes two to do certain things) she asks him if she is free to leave and he answers that of course she is. This level of miscommunication makes me cry. Mr genius of course can’t understand what’s under his nose, how can he understand that the heroine wants to tell him another thing? Some months later he accidentally finds out she’s pregnant. With a finesse that even a jellyfish could do better he is angry with her, but we rejoice because she has a surprise for him: she is expecting twins. So much for not wanting a family. They get married and she’s unhappy because she knows he doesn’t love her ( and we readers know too) but eventually, when she risks her life because of an anaphylactic reaction he understands he has always loved her. No, I don’t think so. He didn’t love her and even if his past trauma could lead to excessive worry and to avoid committing I never saw a real love for her, or for his babies. Anyway I recommend it because it’s a safe and entertaining reading....more

Because this teeny tiny English rose causes the almost death of the two men in her life. First, her beloved ( the hero) is kidnapped and tortured by her criminal uncle, then her husband ends on a wheelchair because he dared to claim his husbandly right and she wasn’t willing. My bird! This woman is worse than a plague! I loved this side of her, so martyr style but not completely. Eh. The story is fantasy. Her uncle kidnapped and tortured the hero and forced her to dump him because she was sold as a slave to an elder nobleman ( are we in the present or in the 1800??), she hits her husband that is hurt and then he forces her to live destitute because she hurt him ( in what century are we??) of course there’s no logic in all this. She was afraid because her evil uncle threatens to kill the hero if she didn’t do what he wanted and she didn’t think to call the police or some social worker to help her??? So very far from reality that I had to give only 3 stars. It would have been 4, because the hero, even if he was dumped when he was hurt in hospital by the heroine, never got over her, waited for her, and even if he told her it was only for revenge, we all can see he was crazy for her all the time. Much angst for misunderstanding and the typical ag mode: the heroine is not able to end a sentence because the hero interrupts her every time, so she can’t explain until the end! The sweet thing is that, even dumped, cheated and rejected, the very macho Sicilian hero was celibate for two years and waited for her. See? Celibacy doesn’t cause impotence ;-) ...more

The charaI love Abby Green because there's always an amount of angst and drama in her books. This book for the first part was all unicorns and roses. The characters meet, fall in insta lust, have a nice holiday in Greece. The hero is smitten with the heroine. The heroine has secrets. But then, in the middle of the book, there it is. The Big Misunderstanding. And believe me, it's very very bad. I couldn't fault the hero for his reaction, the situation was really bad. He felt deceived and threw the heroine out of his house, and then they were separated for four months. Then he understood that maybe - maybe- she wasn't the gold digger he thought and came back to her. Of course after the heroine was thrown out she found out she was pregnant and decided not to tell the hero until the baby was borne. Understandable, since he treated badly. And she was tough. She didn't give up after two minutes like the usual brainless heroines in HP. She made him suffer, wait, grovel. He had a hard past, and so she had. But she didn't let her past define her present, while of course the less tough and brave hero did. He was wary and couldn't trust anyone. What I liked: The hero was sweet and he was immediately smitten with the heroine, even when they were apart he couldn't stop thinking of her. He was not a jerk or a selfish bastard. The heroine was a tough one. She had a difficult past but she was caring and sweet with her disabled aunt. I liked that she wasn't helpless and she didn't let the hero abuse her (this is rare in HP) She was proud and stood for herself. What I didn't like: - In the beginning there's a scene where he has just had sex with a woman, and after a few hours he meets and is in lust with the heroine. Yuk. I found it disgusting. I didn't see the necessity for this kind of scene. I'm sick with womanizers, I think they are shallow and hardly redeemable. I recommend it, it's a safe and entertaining reading....more

She’s his pa and he ruthlessly seduces her blackmailing her whenever she refuses. This really gave me the creeps. He threatens to sue her in the beginning when she says she will resign, forcing her to go to a trip with him, ok it’s work but he tells her he will seduce her. She’s uncomfortable with that and he insists, I couldn’t accept his continued mauling her, kissing and touching her even if she told him didn’t want. It’s not consensual, because even if she was attracted by him with her body she wasn’t willing to have sex with him. I didn’t like it. Eventually they have sex and the affair was quite smooth but in the end he made two other awful things. She resigned and he accepted first, then he changed his mind and prevented her from finding another job so she would be forced to work with him. Is he crazy??? And this because he wanted her as his mistress, knowing she needed to work because she was keeping her mother in a clinic??? This is criminal. Then he tried to force her to go with him to Greece and when she refused he threatened to reveal the mother’s illness to the press ( the mother was a notorious dancer) what is in his head??? I was really disturbed by this performance of his, a display of power unbalance where an innocent woman who only wanted to work, is forced to satisfy his dirty needs? What an awful man he is, I don’t think I can accept that with a man like that the heroine could be ever happy. The heroine was lovely and proud, she was hurt by her previous experience with her mother and didn’t want to be a man’s toy, I loved her when she refused him in the end, I really felt bad for her because she was a brave and honest woman. Anyway I enjoyed the book, it was really angsty and eventually the hero tried to redeem himself ( but I have my doubts)...more

Since she had a traumatic childhood, witThe hero and the heroine had a moc, she had to provide a heir but every time she got pregnant she miscarried. Since she had a traumatic childhood, with an abusive father who hit her and everyone around, she learnt to be distant and aloof and not to show her emotions. The hero's life is based on a lie, since he changed his name and afterwards became a billionaire. His wife doesn't know of course. They have a very dry and cold relationship, they never talk about their feelings, the heroine is shattered by her miscarriages but never shows so the hero doesn't know she's hurt (I wonder if he was hurt, since it was also his babies she miscarried... he said he was but he was not so convincing) The heroine after her last miscarriage doesn't want to be pregnant any more so she limits their sex, that until that moment was great, to going down on him. She doesn't explain that issue to her husband because she's a basket case herself, he doesn't ask. He feels rejected and starts to think about cheating on her. Because what do you do when things are not great with your wife? You try to explain what's wrong and find a solution talking to her, since you've been married for years? No, you think that maybe an affair with that b***h of your PA would be a viable option. Really? Really! You think about cheating. This is the worst. I know he didn't cheat, but only because his PA was a little too pushy, not because he respected his wife and their vows... This was great. I think it should have been acceptable if he felt rejected and then was pleased if another woman shows her desire for him, maybe even tempted because he thought his wife didn't want him any more, this is only human, and it was an impulsive reaction, but coldly thinking about cheating as a solution of a problem means that when in the future you will have other problems, as usually happens in lives of human beings, he will use cheating as a solution. No no no. This is completely wrong. Never mind if they have tons of problems of miscommunication, traumas, and eventually they were able to solve them because he wanted their marriage to last. It's so wrong that attitude of his that I couldn't enjoy the book any more. The end was obviously cute, with the miracle baby, their issues solved, great love from them both, but I think that it wont' be lasting. I'm sorry because usually Dani Collins heroes usually are faithful for years, and never thinks of cheating even if they are estranged. That was a big let-down for me....more

With the perfect amount of angst, big misunderstandings, deception, instalove, i loved it. The heroine works as a maid in the hero’s house and one night he gives up and kisses her and pawns her because he can’t resist her, but immediately after he is horrified because she is innocent and an employee and he thinks he’s exploiting her. The subsequent night she sees him flirting with a female guest and she’s shattered. His brother, who’s a widower with twins, proposes her to be his nanny and some months after they are married. Then he dies in an accident, after telling his brother his wife ruined him and spent all his money. The heroine has now the twins custody, and since she’s destitute the hero blackmails her to marry him in a MOC, so she can keep the kids. Now, the hero of course despises her because he thinks she is a conniving gold digger and not the naive girl he thought she was, and he hates her because he’s jealous she married his brother. He treats her badly and seduces her, realizing too late she was a virgin. The truth of her former marriage comes out, and the hero is shattered knowing he really misjudged her and both him and his brother have exploited her and wronged her. There’s a BM: the hero’s brother was a beast, he hated the hero and stole the heroine because he saw he was interested in her, then wanted to ruin him financially and had a gambling addiction, so the heroine’s debacle was planned coldly by him. The hero living with the heroine gets to know her and understands she’s not who he thought she was, and eventually admits he always loved her and was jealous. Oh, he was celibate since they kissed and it’s almost two years. See, it’s not difficult. What I didn’t understand: the heroine attachment to the twins. They were not related, so ok she cared for them but so much? An enemy to lovers story, with a celibate hero and a martyr heroine and ag is very good with her psychological analysis of characters. Really good for me!...more

It was a nice and sweet story where the hero has a personality transplant at a certain time in the story. At first we see the hero, that has just become king because his loved cousin has died, that is in the usual hp royals style: the higher their rank the lower their iq. He meets the heroine and has a ons and after lot of hot sex he leaves without a back glance. He never checks if there have been consequences. No, he moves on, and plans to marry the fiancée of his deceased cousin, a MOC of course, for dynastic reasons. The heroine is lovely and brave. And of course very fertile. Because she gets pregnant even with precautions. She is also honest and very alone and, after trying to get in touch with the hero to tell him the news, she goes to his Palace and throws up on his secretary. The secretary understands something is going on and calls the hero. The hero is with his fiancé. He’s not very enthusiastic of his fiancé and he’s thinking of the night he spent with the heroine. Not so good. When the heroine tells him she’s pregnant he’s not actually cruel or mean and he doesn’t doubt it’s his son even if he asks her to have a dna test ( it’s ok since they don’t even know each other). Then he asks her how she feels about the baby and she tells him that she would have gone to university but the baby changes everything. She’s not sure if she’s happy but she doesn’t think of a termination. This is very likely. A single mum with no help no partner and no relatives obviously cannot be happy and glad at first. Then the hero acts like the super beta man he is. He speaks of this pregnancy with his fiancée. About the fiancée we understand she’s a nice and sensible woman who doesn’t have strong feelings for the hero and is not vicious at all. We wait for her story with a billionaire next month. The hero proposes the heroine to adopt her baby with his wife. At this point the heroine is almost casting up her accounts - and me too. But she’s more sensible than me, that wanted to kill the bastard for suggesting such a thing in a romantic novel, and says she will think about it. When she refuses his offer the hero is shaken because he has had a personality transplant and the first effect is that he has an immediate insight: he cannot lose her and the baby. So he breaks up with his fiancée and proposes to the heroine. From now on the book is romantic and sweet. He’s not the man at the beginning of the book, that was his doppelgänger, he is now a man in love with the heroine and eventually, when she risks to lose the baby he does everything he can to make her stay. He’s just very sweet. The only thing I didn’t like was his suggestion to adopt the child with another woman. This is not something I expect in a romantic book. Everything else was ok. Even his transformation from stupid shallow selfish bastard to sweet and loving hero. ...more

Tom was jilted by his fiancée that was still in love with her husband and is nursing a broken heart when he meets his new neighbor, a beautiful widow who is hosting raucous parties every night. Hyacinth had an awful marriage and swore she will never marry again. She and Tom agree to have a fortnight affair without strings then they will part. Of course they fall in love but are afraid to admit their feelings. An unexpected event will force them to meet again, this time forever. I loved both characters. Tom is the ultimate hero, a gentleman, who thinks that women must be only worshiped, is kind and sweet and a wonderful lover. He was jilted and suffered once but this doesn’t prevent him from falling in love with hyacinth and for good this time. He’s the best romantic hero I met, so tender and loving and never less that respectful. He’s not a rake, I loved how he was with hyacinth. And hyacinth was a woman who suffered so much from her previous husband that was afraid to marry again but she fell in love with Tom and eventually understood that life without him made no sense at all. A mild angst level, so much romance, I recommend it for all people who need a romantic book in the very sense of the word, with a true hero you can fall in love with. Beautiful! ...more

The heroine is married to a prince and has to produce an heir, they had a MOC but she fell in love with him and so did he, but of course they don’t speak about it. The heroine suffers from endometriosis, that is a very painful issue and prevents her very probably to have children, so she decides to tell her husband and find out a solution. No, of course no, who would do such a stupid and nonsense thing as to talk about a problem??? She asks for a divorce and he thinks she has another man because since her condition is very painful she can’t have sex as before and refuses him very often. He is furious and agrees to a divorce and she doesn’t tell him that she is doing this because she loves him and she wants him to have a wife who can give him children. This is all so stupid. Then one night she has a painful and very bad course, with a lot of blood loss and severe pain and when he finds her in bed he is appalled and immediately wants to help her. The truth is out and luckily he declares he won’t divorce her even if she won’t be able to have children, eventually of course she will have surgery and she will be ok, they will have their hea and also a pregnancy. This is a book where misunderstandings could be solved with a 10 minute talk. It is understandable that she didn’t think he loved her because theirs was a MOC, and their relationship was really weird because they were good in bed but almost didn’t talk about anything serious. I could not stop reading it. The first part could have been a regency novel where a prince sees a damsel in distress, she’s beautiful, untouched and poor and has an evil abusive father who keeps her locked when she’s not working. The prince falls in love with her and tries to respect her because she works in his house, and he’s honorable but since this is a LG and a present and not regency, this particular prince spoils it all thinking how it would be nice to have her as his mistress. Not wife of course since she is the hired help. Then she’s beaten by her evil father and the hero seduces her. Just like that. And after this he’s upset because she lied to him saying she was not a virgin while she was. He offers her to be his mistress and she refuses of course, because naive she may be but not a w***e. The hero then understands he treated her badly and offer marriage, adding that since he can’t marry the woman he loves, he can well marry her. Most romantic proposal ever. And most smart. Of course the heroine refuses. This is where the hero falls in my opinion, and he does something more when the heroine is accused of stealing a jewel from a guest ( evil ow) and she asks him for help, thinking he believes her innocent, but since he is a LG hero, we cannot expect too much from him and he declares that he will help her even if he thinks she’s guilty. The heroine refuses his help and, with the help of one of her friends, disappears and goes to London where she work as a waitress. Then we skip 7 months and we find out she’s pregnant because the fine hero could not even bother to protect her when he had sex with her, the gentleman. She’s going home after her shift when she sees him outside the pub. He wants to talk with her and so finds out she’s pregnant. He’s nice because doesn’t ask for a dna test and offers marriage, the heroine with the pragmatic POV of lg’S heroines, accepts, even if she knows he only wants to marry her for her child, the heir. They get married and are even happy, but the hero, who is apparently slow witted, still thinks she stole the jewelry, and I appreciate that the heroine was furious with him and told him that since he married her he should have been loyal to her and try to clear her reputation. The hero stars thinking, very slowly, that maybe, only maybe, he made a mistake and misjudged her. Then there’s a party for their marriage in his country and she sees the woman he loved, his foster sister. Afterwards he tells her he never really loved this woman but obviously the heroine doesn’t believe him because thinks he only wants to reassure her. After some time the hero tells her that evil ow confessed she paid a maid to say she saw the heroine stealing her jewelry because she was jealous. The hero is shattered because he caused so many troubles but we know it’s not his fault if he’s born slow, and so does the heroine. He tells her he loved her since he first saw her and he was celibate since they first met, tells her he looked for her for seven months and was very afraid that something bad could happen to her. The heroine, kindly accepts his apology. So, this heroine was really nice, even if she was naive she was strong and determined and it was very sad how she had to live with a controlling evil father, I appreciate she stands for herself always and without hysterics and the hero was really lucky to have met her. As for the hero, he was a slow witted man, not able to see when a person is innocent and what were his real feelings for her and for his foster sister, but he was faithful and somehow honorable, he looked for her after she left and wanted to marry her for herself. The book is good, the plot is interesting and never boring. I recommend it. Ps: Innocent in the title because she was not guilty I suppose. ...more

ItThe man was cruel and mean bordering on sociopath, he used the heroine for sex and revenge on her father then he verbally abused her for no reason. It was an unnecessary thing to do and I didn’t understand why the author did this. To show how he changed afterwards, sorry but he didn’t. It spoiled all the book since it’s very difficult to believe he can ever change. Unfortunately men like this don’t change. It was also sad to see a heroine that in the beginning had a backbone becoming a poor excuse of a woman, rejoicing for his crumbles of affection. I don’t believe in hea here. I’m disappointed. This book was only an example of how low a woman can stoop to keep the attention of a man. No good. ...more

It’s more science fiction than hp. The heroine and the hero are separated. The hero left her because she was obsessed with having a child and couldn’t get pregnant. Their life was all about getting pregnant, sex was a duty and she was nasty each time she found out she wasn’t pregnant. She also told him that if he wasn’t able to get her pregnant she didn’t want him any more. That was cruel and awful. The hero was a darling man and he was mad about her. He was treated as a sperm donor. So he left her. I can’t deny I sympathized with him. afterwards she regrets her words and tries to talk to him but he tells her he is happy like that, he wants a divorce and his sex life is great, and besides he had also found out he is sterile. The heroine’s colleagues start seeing him with ow around. One night she meets him with his actual mistress so she can’t deny any more that he has moved on. The same night he kisses her, and she realizes she still wants him, but can’t stand that situation any longer so she tells him she wants a divorce. He doesn’t even blink, but asks her to be his mistress instead. After some lame refusal from her part she accepts because she thinks he still loves her and anyway she still loves him and is willing to accept him as he is. They start having sex, wonderful hot sex and - this was really weird- some days later they declare their love and their intention to stay married. But of course the heroine thinks he will be unfaithful again and each time he is a little bit late she thinks he’s with ow. One day she finds him with ow in his office and she leaves him, telling him she needs thinking. She finds out she’s pregnant and decides to go back to him and tell him. As soon as she’s back, he’s there waiting for her, distressed and worried, and blurts out the truth. The truth is he wanted really bad to make her happy and, listening to a tv program where it was said that women can’t conceive often because they’re stressed, he thought that if she thought he wasn’t able to conceive and was only having sex for fun and not duty, she would have conceived easily. So he made up all the sterile playboy story with women who were paid to be his date but only that, without any involvement, and no sex of course. They were clients or friends, never mistress. He admits he only did it for her and that it hurt him a lot being apart. Ok, how crazy is this one? I know it’s far from reality but it was funny, the heroine was a doormat and I didn’t really liked her. She rejected her husband when he was a wonderful husband only because she couldn’t get pregnant, but she accepted him when he admitted he was sleeping with ow. One evening while they were making out he told her he was going to sleep with ow and she didn’t even balk! The woman was without pride and sensibility (and Jane Austin would know). The hero. What about him. Apparently he knew very well his wife because any other woman would have divorced him and kicked his sorry a** the first time she saw with ow. What saved him is that he was only pretending to be a nasty playboy, and all because he wanted her to get pregnant and have the child she so wanted. What a couple of idiot. What an unlikely book. Of course you have to read it with your eyes wide open and with the only intention of having some light fun....more
