The positives: -favorite word thing: cute -her parents and his family: awesome -weekend getaway house: fav thing ever -their closet: very endearing -the realistic teenage jealousy -elliot: a good soft boy mc -SABRINA
Things I didnt like, at all: -the drama between them felt dragged out ngl -elliot (view spoiler)[being assaulted (hide spoiler)] and that not being addressed at all. Also, his dickhead friends just playing downstairs while that happened to him. -I loved Sabrina but she just fucking disappeared in the second half of the book honestly. Her character felt like she was just there to push Macy towards Elliot and I didn't like that :( -There was just this subtle undercurrent of "the person you fall in love first, you can never move on from them" like I get that with Macy and Elliot but why did they have to show the same thing with Sean and Ashley? Like no, if my partner walked out on me and our kid because they wanted drugs more, I'd never take them back (but I get that this is a personal thing) -Emma was such a 1D character. Maybe it's because I've never seen anybody crazy attach themselves to someone already in love with somebody else/somebody who's clearly not into you. And she never faced the consequences of her actions? tf was up with that -the whole thing about Weekday Elliot and Weekend Elliot - I rolled my eyes so hard when I read that. Maybe it's justified from a high school teenage pov, but as a 21 y/o - can't relate, you and your partner are pretty obviously going to have lives outside of your relationship like friends, hobbies, work -I did not particularly look forward to their horny times as teenagers because of the details - we got nothing when they're older but sm of it when they were minors, make it make sense. - also the amount of grunting and growling happening in this book, yikes...more

“Because they could kill you!” “They better,” I say to her. “Because anything less than that isn’t going to work.”
Jude as a narrator is extremely unreliable, resilient, ruthless, manipulative, and vengeful -- and that is precisely what made her an absolute delight to read. Her hunger for power and her anger towards everybody who has done her wrong was so palpable, I could feel it. Her struggling with loving Madoc while knowing he was responsible for her parent's death was also executed very well. And do not get me started on the knife to throat scene - I need some more of that. Actually, scratch that, a LOT more of that.
I've had my wattpad phase where I read all kinds of cliché romance books. A lot of them involved the bullying trope. And a lot of them did not work for me. Mainly because I just could not stand the main character bullying the female main character and getting away with it because she silently bears it all (doesn't want to worry her parents / doesn't want to stand up against the popular jock because then she'll become more of an outcast / its embarrassing / she just doesn't want to stir up drama). And I've read a lot of enemies to lovers too, which also most of the time did not work for me despite it being a trope I love. Either because the reason for them being enemies did not make sense to me, or because it very quickly turned from i-hate-you-so-much to you-are-the-most-beautiful-person-in-the-world-i-cant-live-without-you.
And all this is exactly why Cardan and Jude made sense to me. They were both unhinged. He pushed her too far and she paid him back, never backed down from him. They spoiled each other's food, he drowned her, his friends made her eat the everapple and embarrassed her, she killed his friend off, she tied him up and kissed him just because she could... you get the point. I want this dynamic to not change, because not every book needs to show perfect relationships. Sometimes we can just have two people who constantly butt heads, and occasionally trade kisses ...more

Aristotle's development with his feelings, expressing emotions, and his relationship with his parents and friends other than Dante was fun, but I did not enjoy this book at all. Dante suddenly changes from sweet, loving, caring Dante to impulsive Dante. I didn't like that either considering that he was my favorite part of the first one. And his dad, of course. I like Sam's character.
The dialogue of this book was just not it, it was trying way too hard and I found it hard to read the book at times.
The ending was way too rushed imo and it didn't sit well with me.
In conclusion, I would not recommend it to anybody. If you like the first book, leave it at that. ...more
