This series just keeps getting better with every book—more action, more emotion, and even higher stakes. I’m completely hooked!!
After the events of the last book, the group is split up, and I really appreciated the multiple POVs this time around. It helped me stay connected to each character’s journey as they fought to survive and find their way back to one another.
It was really heartwarming to see how much love this big, chaotic group has for each other—and how far they’re willing to go to protect one another. Despite the seriousness of the situation, I also loved the occasional humor from their familiars and their antics, which livened up the story—especially Bandit!
The romance ? You won’t be disappointed! It’s still just as hot, spicy, sweet, and tender as ever! Loren and Darien continue to be the power couple I can’t get enough of, and I absolutely loved watching Roman and Shay struggle to express their true feelings—it was all so delightful. I adore them all and I’m seriously rooting for their happiness, even with danger constantly around the corner.
“You’re my whole world. I love you more than I can put into words, but I’m trying to express my self properly, but gods, it’s hard. No words are good enough to adequately express how much I feel for you.”
The ending had me feeling it all—on edge, full of questions, but still holding onto hope. But their fight isn’t over yet—a massive threat is still looming, and it’s going to take everything they’ve got (and then some) to save their home.
The writing style makes it so easy to fall into the story. I find myself constantly wanting to dive back into this world, always wishing I had the next book in my hands already. I can’t wait to see what the author has planned next!!

The lessons aren’t always pleasant. Or easy. And you won’t always understand why things happened the way they did, until much, much later.”
The Artist of Blackberry Grange delivers everything a gothic reader could hope for: a haunted manor, dark family secrets, and an eerie, unsettling atmosphere that pulls you right in!
The author crafts a unique and intriguing plot, weaving together the concept of delving into the past through painting—a truly original and captivating idea. The narrative can be intricate, with several characters and their secrets, manipulations, and dual timelines to follow. While this complexity might be challenging at times, it enriches the story and offers an engaging experience.
The book explores several compelling themes with exceptional depth, including personal loss, healing, compassion, the emotional toll of caregiving, and redemption through breaking cycles of pain. Kennedy handles these themes masterfully, giving the story both emotional weight and thought-provoking insights.
One of the standout aspects for me was Sadie, the main character, reconnecting with her Aunt Marg while piecing together her family’s mysterious past. It took some time to warm up to the characters, as some of them made questionable decisions. However, as their histories unravelled and their secrets came to light, I found myself understanding them better and appreciating the complexity of their journeys.
While the mystery and atmospheric elements were enthralling, Sadie’s romantic subplot felt somewhat rushed and slightly forced. I wished the story delved deeper into her love interest to give this aspect greater depth and development.
Overall, this character-driven story is beautifully written, brimming with sweet, tender, and heart-wrenching moments and richly developed characters. Paulette Kennedy’s captivating writing style continues to amaze me with each book she wrote. I’m eagerly looking forward to exploring more of her work in the future!

I love the first book, and I was very excited to read the sequel, The Bond that Burns which started right after the ending of Book 1, On Wings of Blood. Truthfully, I have mixed feelings about this book.
Plotwise, it was fascinating. I was intrigued as Medra set out on a mission to uncover the hidden history of the dragons and their riders, as well as secrets kept from the public by the Four Houses. Not only that, but another shocking secret finally came to light.
Medra is doing her best under the immense pressure and expectations of being the only dragon rider. I admired the way she stands up for herself and her dragon, and her friendship with Florence. And who could forget the adorable Neville ? It’s impossible not to love him; his cute antics always liven up the story!
While I enjoyed the storyline and love the characters, the direction of the romance wasn’t what I expected. I spend most of the time hating Blake (Medra’s love interest) due to his attitude and action toward Medra, which angered me so much! Initially, I was rooting for Medra and Blake, but after this book, I no longer feel the same way. I don’t’ get the Dramione vibes anymore and I think Medra deserves better than Blake…
The last few chapters were quite intense, with twist after twist, some of which were left unanswered. This left me wishing I had the next book in the series.
Overall, this was still a pretty good sequel. The easy-to-read writing style, short chapters, epic world building and loveable characters kept my eyes glued to my Kindle. Despite my mixed feelings, I’m continuing the series since I’m curious to see what the author has in store next.

Featuring a vampire lord and a witch thief, this story delivers a compelling mix of magic, tension, and intrigue.
A word of caution: some content in this book delves into darker themes that may be sensitive for some readers, so I strongly recommend reviewing the content warnings beforehand.
As the first installment in the series, Never Run From an Immortal is a promising start to a new romantasy world! The rich, immersive world-building immediately drew me in, especially with its unique blend of magical powers and advanced technology—making the setting all the more exciting to explore.
The story is told from dual POV: Rae, a witch, and Aidan, a vampire lord. Both characters are morally complex and hidden in secrets they’ve guarded for years. This depth adds layers to their personalities, making them fascinating protagonists to follow.
The dynamic between Rae and Aidan is a delightful mix of banter, flirtation, and palpable tension. Their moments of sweetness are heartwarming, and I’m eager to see more of their relationship develop in the next book! As the story progressed, I found myself connecting with them and gaining a better understanding of their characters and reasons.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Rae and Aidan’s story – it was both entertaining and captivating. With the unexpected twists in the final chapter, I’m excited to dive into the sequel and discover where the author takes this series next!

Medra is a fierce, determined and curious girl who found herself in a strange world and betrothed to a vampire prince. I really enjoyed following her story as she navigates through this new world – seeing how she tried to survive and made friendships with Florence and Naveen.
Blake is a mysterious, cruel and arrogant guy, although he also has a soft side which we see more of from his POV. I liked seeing Medra and Blake’s attraction grows into something more as we delved deeper into the story. However, his possessiveness towards Medra can be slightly alarming. After that last chapter, I’m curious to see how their relationship will progress in the next book.
There were lots of twists and turns near the ending, as betrayals and dark secrets starts to come out one by one. I’m hoping we’ll get to explore more of the world building and also get to know more about the dragons and their rider’s history in the next book.
Overall, this was an entertaining and addicting dark academia romantasy! I was hooked right from the start and I’m looking forward to read the sequel coming out very soon!
I wasn’t aware that this was a spin-off series to the Blood of a Fae series, but don’t worry I enjoyed reading this book without any problem and I’m sure you will too. If you want to know more of the land where Medra comes from, then you can check out the Blood of a Fae series.

The Fal“For whatever your mistakes, for whatever of your faults, for whatever unintended pains you may bring this world, I will love you anyway.”
The Fallen and Kiss of Dusk is a fantastic sequel—the stakes are higher, the emotions are deeper, and one of my favorite parts? All the iconic characters from other books in the Crowns of Nyaxia universe show up and actually contribute to Mische and Asar’s journey! Seeing Oraya and Raihn (forever obsessed with them), Atrius and Sylina, and even Septimus pop in? Chef’s kiss!!
Mische and Asar story picks up right where book one left off, and thank the stars—they’re not apart for long. Together, they dive into a quest that pits them against fate, gods, and everything standing between them and their happy ending.
The character work in this duology is top-tier—the arcs are rich, raw, and beautifully layered. I can’t help but root for Mische and Asar. They’ve come so far, and their bond just keeps deepening with every trial they face. And Luce?? Best girl. She’s a total star and always shows up when it matters most.
“No matter what’s ahead, never sacrifice the messy parts of your mortality. I like those the best.”
That final part of the book was wild. I did not see that twist coming, and now I’m bracing myself for what’s next. The gods, vampires, and humans are clearly gearing up for something massive—and that epilogue?? Septimus is giving mysterious mastermind vibes and I need his story ASAP.
Overall, this duology is a well-written story. The Crowns of Nyaxia series never misses—amazing characters, epic world-building, and a plot that made you always crave for more. I’m beyond excited for the final two books in the Crown of Nyaxia series – the Bloodborn Duet!

I wasn’t sure about continuing this series at first, but this sequel changed everything. It’s a lot more action-packed and emotional; it has all the elements I wished for more in the previous book.
The Night is Defying started right after the ending of the previous book, providing just enough information to jog my memory so I could keep up with the plot easily enough. I love the dual timeline and dual POVs, which allowed me to discover more about the events in the past through different perspective of the two main characters, Nyte and Aestrea.
I really enjoyed seeing Aestrea’s journey as she battles to regain her memories and learn more about her powers. Not to mention, she also has to deal with a mischievous and tempting Nyte who always riled her up but always support her for who she is not for what she is.
It was impossible not to root for Nyte and Aestrea when it seems like fate always keeping them apart, yet they keep coming back for each other despite it all. Their love was tested with every obstacle, it was heart-wrenching but also admirable.
The last few chapters are so intense, I didn’t want to take my eyes off of my Kindle, afraid I’m gonna missed something. All the chaos, betrayals and display of power in the final battle kept me on the edge of my seat!
Overall, this was an improvement to the previous book; more captivating with plot twists and significant character development. Some parts are a little slow but that HUGE CLIFF-HANGER at the end just made me eager to pick up book 3 in this trilogy for more of Nyte and Aestrea. They deserved the happy ending they’ve fought so hard for!

Reading the Silver and Bone trilogy has been a wonderful and thrilling journey, and it ends with an unexpected conclusion!
The plot picks up right after the ending of book 2, Smoke and Mirrors, with the stakes even higher. A powerful evil entity escapes from the veil, trying to wreak havoc in the human world and driving a war between the supernatural beings.
Jennifer is truly an amazing character; I admire her and feel for her because she’s been through a lot. I absolutely love the family she found and the friendships she forms in unexpected ways. They always love and support her, and their humor livens up this serious and dark story!
The last few chapters were heart-breaking to read with so much oss and grief. Even with the final goal fulfilled, the bittersweet ending was a fitting conclusion to the story The ending also left a glimpse of hope for a spin-off series with a new main character, which I would love to read!
Overall, this series was a must-read for fans of paranormal mystery thriller with found family and badass FMC! I was hooked right from the beginning, and each book just keeps getting better and better! I’m really looking forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

What I love most about this series so far are the characters. The author has written them so well that it’s hard not to feel connected to and love them. I adore their strong friendship and how well they work together as a team, with a few sassy comments sprinkled in which liven up the story!
The storyline is also fascinating, beginning with a twist — a person came back from the land of the dead and was seen walking about the street! The mystery kept me hooked from the start, and the last few chapters are quite intense, leading up to the big reveal.
While the ending of Smoke and Mirrors tied up most things nicely, another unknown danger is still waiting for them all... The cliff-hangers at the end definitely made me with I have book 3 in my hands because I needed to get on with the next adventure with these awesome characters!

Calling all dark fantasy lovers—you need to grab this book asap! Especially if you love: • Enemies to brothers • Slow-burn romance • Heists and political intrigue • Angels and demons • Hades/Persephone vibes
There’s a lot going on in this story from the murder mystery to vampires-human political intrigue and gangsters. Numerous dark secrets and hidden agendas make it difficult to know which character to trust as I read this story.
The book is divided into four parts. The first part felt slightly slow due to the introduction of characters and the world-building, but things started to get a lot more interesting by the second part. By the third and fourth part I couldn’t put my Kindle down!
The characters are complex and well-developed. Gabriella's character development is particularly striking, as she undergoes significant changes after what she learned and went through. I was also deeply invested in Hades, who remains a dark enigma with uncertain motives. Despite his ambiguity, I absolutely adore the brother-friend complex relationship between Hades and Demetrius throughout the story!
The romance wasn’t the centre of the plot but added a great touch. Seeing the forbidden romance between a politician and an assassin, as well as the enemies-to-lovers romance between the mafia boss and a journalist, was intriguing. I’m looking forward to see more of them in the next book!
Overall, this is a remarkably well-written story with a massive cliff-hanger ending and a gripping storyline. Such a page turner! I’m definitely keeping an eye out for the sequel once it comes out!

The delicious tension of academic rivals turning to a burning and swoony romance, combined with dark family secrets kept my eyes glued to my kindle, making this one so hard to put down!
Maddox and Atticus have a complex love-hate relationship, it was fascinating to see how their relationship developed as the story progressed. I adore the slow-burn chemistry between them. They clearly had history and something happened that left me dying to know what Atticus was hiding from Maddox.
The unique, dark and enchanting world-building complete with fey, necromancers and the green witches was captivating. I absolutely loved Maddox’s big family-they’re chaotic behaviour really livened up the story. I admired the love they have for each other, seeing as they never treat Maddox differently for being a necromancer in the family.
The last few pages are quite intense as dark secrets were revealed and the stakes got higher, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering the fate of Maddox and Atticus.
Overall, this is such a page turner! A very well-written story - I’m definitely coming back for more of this series!

If you’re looking for an enemies-to-lovers story between a vampire and a vampire hunter, look no further—this book is for you!
The plot was well-paced and well-written; I was hooked right from the start until the end following Carolina and Lalo tackled the vampire issue. The characters are loveable and I especially enjoyed the funny teasing between the siblings, which really enlivened the story!
Carolina is a badass character whom I admire and love. She’s a fierce fighter and lover, often quite reckless and prideful, and finally she meets her match in Lalo—the sweetest and sometimes awkward guy who always riles her up but also becomes one of the few people who can comfort, understand and support her.
I loved the chemistry between the two of them. It was delightful to see their banter and slight flirting! I was rooting for them the entire time and curious to see how or whether they would get their happy ending while saving mankind from vampires.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable and entertaining YA vampire romance that comes with a satisfying ending! I’m definitely keeping an eye out for more books by this author in the future!

The plot is pretty interesting, the writing style is also easy to read and the plot flows smoothly. I get to enjoy exploring the world building and its magical and dangerous creatures lurking in the Fae world.
It took a while for me to like the main characters (Tarian and Imogen), the assuming and the miscommunication between makes me feel frustrated sometimes. It would’ve been a lot easier if they just sit and tell the truth from the start. Nevertheless, I do like the tension and the bickering between them throughout the story as well as the secondary characters like Ethan and Sarah.

Gossamer is the final book in The Golden Wolf trilogy bringing Cin’s journey to an end. After the events of the previous book, I was curious to know whether Cin will have a happy or bittersweet ending. The flashbacks were a nice touch which I really appreciate to refresh my memory and keep me up to speed.
This book is also more action-packed seeing Cin is on the run from the villain. Numerous secrets about Cin, about Ragnarok and the prophecies are revealed and it was fascinating to see some of the Norse Gods made an appearance as Cin sought out their help to save the realms.
One of the standout characters from this book is Bebe, the cat – Cin’s best girlfriend. Their strong friendship is heart-warming and Bebe’s sarcastic comments always liven up the story! Another favourite of mine is Jor, the fun and selfless Midgard Serpent. I would definitely go on a coffee date with him!
While I enjoyed this book, I couldn’t say the same with how the romance unfolded. Cin and Havoc’s interactions were sparse, and I would have loved to see more of them as they finally stopped fighting their feelings for each other.
Overall, this is a highly entertaining, fast-paced book. Everything was wrapped up quite nicely, I really enjoy seeing Cin’s character grow throughout the trilogy. I’m looking forward to see if this series might continue with a different couple, as I’m not quite ready to leave this captivating world.

I’ve never read a paranormal detective story so this one really intrigue me right from the premise! The storyline is pretty unique where our FMC – Jennifer Jones is a vampire detective who works to solve supernatural cases.
I really enjoy my time getting to know Jennifer Jones throughout the story along with following the investigation of a serial killer. There’s no info dumping and I can follow the plot easily, although there are quite a lot of characters to keep track of, not to mention there’s two different timelines as well.
The last few chapters are quite intense and I was slightly heart-broken by the ending, but I’m curious to see what happens next, what kind of cases will Jennifer and her friends solve next time….
Overall, for a debut novel this was pretty good and enjoyable. It’s a good start for a series and has the potential to be one of my favorite series, but we’ll see.. I’m looking forward to read the sequel of this trilogy soon!

Born of Blood and Shadows is recommended for those who especially enjoy reading Anti-Hero main characters.
This book started with a strong opening, getting me hooked into the story pretty quickly at the beginning. I was interested in seeing how Ameris (the FMC) changed throughout the story after going through many major events which leads her to made some questionable choices. I was a tad frustrated by her a few times, but I was curious in seeing what the future hold for her.
As for the romance, I don’t really agree shipping Ameris with Xander (the MMC)…. Sure, they are attracted to each other but sometimes Xander can be dismissive towards her and even underestimate Ameris, which really annoys me. I’m hoping there’ll be more relationship development in the next book.
The last few chapters are quite intense, a betrayal I didn’t see coming and also a show of true power really surprised me.
Overall, it’s a good start for a fantasy series. I’m hoping there’s more exploration of the world building and also more background story regarding the Fae kingdom. I can see it has potential to be a great series so I’m looking forward to read the sequel and find out what happens next especially after that HUGE CLIFF-HANGER at the end of it….

I thought her ability would make it easier to solve the mystery in this story, but that’s not the case. It makes the mystery just as challenging to solve!
One of my favorite aspects of this story, beside the supernatural ability and the beautiful writing style, is the family dynamics. It’s heart-warming to see the James women always having each other’s back and caring for their small town, despite the way of how some of the people in town treat them.
I’m thrilled to see Rowan and Hadrien as the main characters cause I love their banter and the tension between them in the previous book. However, just like the first book, the romance is not the main focus of the story. I would’ve love to see more of them working together to solve the danger lurking around the small town again.
The pacing was a little slow at first, but the twists and turns in the last half of the book more than make up for it, keeping me on the edge of my seat the whole time That last line at the last chapter really surprised me! It made me wished I had the next book in my hands already!
Overall, Lies on the Serpent’s Tongue is a fantastic addition to the series! Judging by the ending, the series is far from over, and I’m curious about which sister will be the main character next. My bet is on Juniper! Well, no matter who it is, I will definitely keep an eye out for the next adventure in Caball Hollow!

Set in the eerie, atmospheric Appalachian town of Caball Hollow, Bittersweet in the Hollow perfectly blends mystery and paranormal elements! The local legend of the Moth-Winged man also adds another layer of darkness drawing me into its well-crafted world-building.
What sets this novel apart is the unique supernatural abilities possessed by Linden (the FMC) and her sisters—such as tasting people's lies and feelings. I also love the descriptive writing style; the way the author vividly brings the setting to life right down to the mouth-watering details of the food.
The first half part unfolds at a measured pace, but it’s the second half part that truly captivate me as the plot thickens and long-buried secrets are uncovered, making it nearly impossible to put down.
As for the romance element, the complex relationship between Linden and Cole adds emotional depth to the story. Their intricate history and the gradual rekindling of their connection is a nice touch which adds as a satisfying romantic subplot.
Overall, this is a fantastic YA read, brimming with dark secrets, vivid descriptions and a satisfying conclusion! I wasn’t ready to leave this small town so I was thrilled to learn there’s a second book in this series featuring another sister. I’m looking forward for another adventure in the next book!
