What can I say about this book aside from it was everything I wanted and more. What a comeback! I was missing Harper’s words, it’s been a while since she published, and she came back with a bang. I was so obsessed with this story.
This review will be short and sweet, because honestly you need to go into this one as blind as possible. I’m glad I did. I knew it had some tie-ins to the Corps Security books, but that’s all. Olivia and Drew’s story was definitely a slow burn romance. Olivia is a single mom to her niece, Riley and owns her own business. Drew is a protector and he’s sticking close to Olivia and Riley for his own reasons.
I loved Olivia and Drew together, but honestly little Riley stole the show so many times. She was the most adorable kid and watching her with Drew, her giant. I melted. This book was so full of heart and I was so happy with how it concluded. This one was such a win, gave me all the feels, and left me with a huge smile on my face. It’s the book I didn’t know I needed, but I’m so happy I got to read it. Long story short, pick this one up! You won’t regret it.
“Sometimes all you need is a second for your life to change, darlin’. Just one second and you feel the winds start to pick up, giving you a hug while pushing you toward what you desire.”

“I love you, little darlin’..Still. Again. Always.”
Carian Cole has this way about her writing. Her books always seem to hit me right in the feels, and this one did just that. Penny and Alex’s story was emotional, heart wrenching, and healing.
Some love is strong enough to overcome all hurdles. That is the kind of love that’s in this book. It will defy all obstacles, and even though it’s an unconventional romance (with a large age gap) it worked. The slow burn was impeccable and I don't want to say too much about the actual story itself, but Alex and Penny are meant to be.
The Lovely Return is so epically romantic and beautifully written. It made me cry more than once and even though it had some hard to read moments, it had me smiling so big at the end. Will definitely make my top favorites list of 2023 and I can’t wait for it to come to audio so I can reread it that way. I highly recommend this one!
Be careful what you wish for. Make it count. Because you just might get it.

After the Storm was THE BOOK in this series I was waiting for. I mean, a grumpy single dad who's a vet and loves his daughter more than anything? Sign me up! I'm happy to report this one didn't disappoint. I loved it so much!
Cage has had one focus since the moment he found out he was going to be a dad. His daughter, Gracie. He hasn't been interested in relationships, that is, until the one that got away, Presley Duncan, comes back into town.
Presley and Cage were so in love when they were younger, but time and distance made things complicated between them and they ended up going their separate ways. But their love never died. The longing of this second chance romance... sigh. I adored these two together.
My favorite thing about this series is the Reynolds family bond, banter, and text thread. I had so much fun any time any of these scenes came up. Cage always makes me laugh the hardest. I loved that even though this book was emotional at times, it felt light too.
Though Georgia and Maddox's book still can't be topped for me, this one was a close second. Cage and Presley belong together and Gracie is the absolute sweetest. I loved her relationship with Presley. This entire series has been such a win for me. I can't recommend these books enough!

I love a shy boy. This book, it was so good. I really enjoyed ‘Icebreaker’ when I read it last year, but this was so much better in my opinion. Russ and Aurora were so sweet together and brought out the best in one another.
Russ is a hockey player. He’s the quiet goalie on the team and has some family issues. Aurora has family issues of her own. But she handles them in different ways. They meet at a hockey party at the end of the year and sparks fly. Then, when they both show up at the same camp as councilors they realize they’re spending the entire summer together. With a no fraternization policy.
Russ Callahan was my absolute favorite thing about this book. It’s one of those stories that got a 5 star because I loved him so much. The romance was great, the ending had me in happy tears, and overall I loved it so much!

Caught Up was the perfect book for me. It had so many things I love in it. Single parent and nanny, the cut5 stars
“Today was a good day.”
Caught Up was the perfect book for me. It had so many things I love in it. Single parent and nanny, the cutest kid ever, sports romance, baking (one of my favorite hobbies after reading), and all the emotions I love and crave in romance. Liz Tomforde has not just one (The Right Move is my #1 favorite book of 2023) but two books in my top favorites of 2023 because this one will be high up on the list!
Miller never planned to be a nanny. In fact, she is one of the top pastry chefs in her field, but she is burnt out and needs a break. She decides to go to Chicago to spend some time with her dad (who is a baseball coach) and that’s where she meets Malachi. Kai. Baseball Daddy.
Kai is a single dad and only wants the best for his son, Max. Because of that, he goes through nannies… one right after the other. He’s a pro baseball player and his team is supportive, but they need a nanny that will last the rest of the season. He’s skeptical when it comes to Miller Montgomery, but he loves Miller’s father so he gives her a try.
Miller + Kai + Max = everything. The romance between the couple is perfect, the relationship between Kai and his son was the most beautiful and heartwarming, and don’t even get me started on the bond that Miller develops with Max. It’s the best thing ever. When Max (view spoiler)[finally gets her name out, and instead of Miller its Mama he’s trying to say… I bawled (hide spoiler)] honestly this is everything I want in a romance. I’ll take no criticism with this book it’s as close to perfect as they come.
I’m honestly obsessed with this book and this series as a whole. I have a feeling who the 4th book will be about (confirmed that Rio will be the 5th) and I’m stoked to keep reading about these characters. This is one of those books that I know I’ll find myself rereading time and time again!

Elsie Silver is killing it with this ‘Chestnut Springs’ series. I know I can be a picky reader at times (especially when it comes to my 5 star favorites) but every book in this series has been such a hit. It’s so rare to read a series where every single book is 5 stars, but here we are. Welcome to Chestnut Springs!
Beau Eaton is the one I’ve been waiting for. He used to be a lighthearted and fun Eaton, but his time in the military changed that. Now he’s got that tortured/damaged hero vibe we all love. Bailey Jensen was born into the wrong family. She’s sweet and shy, but her father and brothers are nothing but trouble and she can’t get ahead in Chestnut Springs with the Jensen name.
Beau and Bailey become friends and Beau has this idea. Maybe Bailey would get better opportunities and people would treat her with more respect if she was going to be an Eaton… hence the fake dating/fake engagement. We all know that fake dating turns into real feelings and I was more than here for that!
I loved Bailey and Beau together so so much! I just wanted to give them both the biggest hug. Bailey needed someone to love her and care for her so badly. She’s never had that. And she was there for Beau in ways that his family couldn’t be. I adored them both.
Hopeless such an incredible read. I couldn’t love this Eaton family more. All the funny moments (thanks Harvey) and heartwarming scenes, and how love just radiates from the pages. This one was emotional, but still kept a big smile on my face. This series has been epic from start to finish and if you haven’t read these books, I can’t recommend them enough!

"Love brings miracles we'd never dreamed of.”
This book was just what my heart needed. So sweet, charming, and the perfect feel good small town romance.
Honey Creek, Illinois reminded me of the town of Serenity (if you’ve seen Sweet Magnolias you know what I mean). The kind of town where everyone knows everyone and people look out for their neighbors. That hasn’t been the welcome that Alex Ramirez got when he came to town to open a new restaurant. Though his bad attitude didn’t help anything either…
Yara Kingsley is such a sweetheart and does everything she can to make Alex feel welcome but these two butt heads. She decides after a few bad interactions that they are not meant to be friends. Then something happens and changes between them.
Alex is the grumpy to Yara sunshine. They work so well together. Yara’s ex-husband is the town chief and dating has been impossible for her so they come up with a plan. Yara and Alex fake date so people around town see her dating and maybe they will start being more welcome to him. Plus, he could use a date to his best friend’s wedding (best friend is marrying his ex-girlfriend’s sister).
You know my favorite part about fake dating is watching the couple realize it’s not fake at all. Sigh. I also loved the banter between these two. This one would make for a perfect rom-com on the big screen. I’m so happy we’ll get more time in Honey Creek and I can’t wait to read Yara’s sister’s books.
If you’re looking for a grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, enemies to lovers small town romance this is the book for you. It was a lot of fun and kept me smiling from cover to cover. This was a bit different than some of Brittainy’s other books, but still had that special touch of hers written all over it.

I haven’t devoured an ebook this quickly in some time. Less than 24 hours and I had this read from cover to cover! It was one of those books that I couldn’t put down. It was so much fun, kept the biggest smile on my face, and had just enough emotion to balance it out. This is my first Laura Pavlov book and it’s safe to say I’m a fan! I’ll definitely be checking out more of her books.
Grumpy/sunshine is my absolute favorite and Georgia aka Tink is one of the most sunshiney characters and I mean that in the best way. Maddox is her new boss and the quintessential grump. Maddox doesn’t want to like Georgia. He doesn’t want to fight the urge to smile every time he sees her, but he can’t help it. She wears him down and does it quickly.
Georgia was my favorite character in the book. I loved her. And her entire family! I’m so happy her siblings all have/are getting books. Maddox was great as well. He had some valid reasons for being the way he was and he just needed the right person to open him up and his Tink was perfect for him. Honestly, there was nothing about this one I didn’t love. It was fantastic and I’m so happy I picked it up!...more

After reading Misfits Like Us, and loving it soooo much, I was worried this wouldn't measure up. It had a lot to live up to... I shouldn't have been. This was just as good as it's predecessor. LiLo may be my favorite fictional couple and I'm obsessed with the Hales, but Donnelly and Luna are a close second favorite. I love them that much!
Unlucky Like Us takes place right after 'Misfits' left off. This one has twists and turns I didn't see coming and that ending has me stunned! I hope we get the next book in this series sooner rather than later, but I'll wait however long I have to ;)
Once again the Donnelly/Loren relationship was elite. I adore Xander so much and Luna and Donnelly together was everything! My favorite couple of weirdos that can just be themselves with each other. Sigh. It's so good! Definitely will be on my top favorites list of the year.
Donnelly has made me feel like my galaxy is the happiest, most exhilarating place to be, even if I’m the only one there.

“My rainy days are yours, Dominic. If you want them.”
I’m obsessed with Dominic King. I have been since the moment I met him in ‘Flock’. Getting a book from his perspective was something I never thought we’d have but everything I wanted. It was brilliant. Perfect. I laughed, I swooned, and I cried buckets, but I loved every moment. I’m going to make this short and sweet because no one should be spoiled by all the epic we get in this book…
A classic case of a good girl wanting to go bad or, at least, make bad decisions. That’s where I come in. I don’t scare her. I intrigue her.
If you’ve read and loved ‘The Ravenhood’ series, this is a book you need in your life. It has so much we haven’t seen before and so much more insight to the story as a whole. Kate’s writing is always superb and she knocked it out of the park with One Last Rainy Day.

It’s been such a long time since I’ve read a Willow Aster book and this one was soooo good!
Autumn Nights starts out at Autumn’s sister’s wedding. Autumn meets a guy there and it’s pretty obvious that one- she has no idea who he is, and two- he’s enamored with her. He just happens to be Zac Ledger, a pretty famous NFL player. Autumn doesn’t do ‘sport’ so she could care less.
Fast forward just a few days later when she’s back in California her boss gets a job to do Zac’s house (Autumn is in interior design) so she goes cross country again to Boston for a few months. Autumn is dead set on doing this project, but her boss is insistent and she realizes pretty early on that the first impression she had about Zac was wrong.
Zac has a daughter named Ivy who he’s completely devoted to. Listen, single dad romance is my catnip and this one was done so well. I loved Ivy and Autumn’s relationship, honestly that was my favorite part of the book. The romance was also great. It took time for Autumn to trust, but with time she did. Honestly, Zac’s whole family was great and they made the book that much better.
This book made my heart so happy. I smiled through so much of it, but it also had enough angst to make my heart race and kept me intrigued throughout the story. I loved it so much and it’s one I would highly recommend!...more
When I read 'Heartless' last year, I thought no Elsie Silver book could top that. Honestly, this one was just as good. I loved Reckless so much. Winter was fantastic, and Theo was absolutely perfect. This is a troupe I'm not a fan of, but she did it just right. There was nothing I didn't love about this book!
When Winter and Theo meet, they have a lot of chemistry. It's obvious right away there is an attraction there, and though neither are in a place for anything serious, they act on it. One night together changes everything. Theo is a professional bull rider, a protégé, and on his way to wining titles. Winter is a doctor, in the middle of a divorce, and finding herself again as well as developing a relationship with her sister, Summer.
Winter is such a strong heroine. She doesn't have a good example of what it is to be a good and loving mom, but when she finds herself in that position, she does the dang thing and she does it so well. She's an overcomer and though it takes people a while to get in there with her, once they do she's kind, loyal, and loving.
And let me tell you about Theo. This man is perfection. How much love, care, and attention he gives to both of his girls. Swoon. I just adored him so much. He jumped right in there and took the role he was always meant to fill. I loved Theo and Winter together. This has a bit of an opposites attract vibe and I am here for it.
Now to the troupe we all know and love loathe... if you know me at all you know this is one of my least favorite things in books, so if it worked for me, it will work for anyone lol. Don't let it scare you from reading this epic book! I won't give any spoilers, but ya'll are just going to have to trust me.
I've read almost all of Elsie Silver's books and the more she writes, the more she solidifies herself as a new favorite for me. This book had the perfect amount of angst, steam, and heart. I know Reckless will be making my top 2023 list and I can't recommend it enough! ...more

This book! Out on a Limb is by far my new favorite Hannah Bonam-Young book. It was the sweetest and most swoony read, was funny and emotional, had amazing disability rep, pregnancy in the book (not secret baby thankfully) and was just all around the most heartwarming friends to lovers book I’ve read.
Win and Bo meet on Halloween at a mutual friend’s party. They hit it off as they’re wearing matching costumes (what an adorable meet cute!) and one thing leads to another… this is a very casual one time thing until weeks later when Win discovers she’s carrying a little souvenir from that night.
Win tells Bo right away and they reconnect, as friends. I love their friendship. I love how they can be themselves with each other. Bo is an amputee and Win has an underdeveloped hand, hence the cute and clever title. I love how it wasn’t brushed over, but also wasn’t made the focus all the time. It was so perfectly balanced.
Honestly this was a perfect read for me. There was nothing about it I didn’t love and I know it will be on my top reads of 2023. I couldn’t keep the smile off my face the entire time I was reading and Bo is just the most incredible cinnamon roll hero. I recommend this one to all romance lovers!

“You are going to wreck my world, and I’m going to let you.”
Forbidden Hearts is the first book in Corinne Michaels new ‘Whitlock Family’ series and I loved it! Single dad, age-gap, forbidden small town romance- I was so here for it!
Phoebe is back in her home town of Sugarloaf for the summer during grad school while she tries to figure out her life after a hard year. Asher is with his daughter and in need of a nanny. Phoebe is just the person for the job. Asher is particular with who stays with his daughter, Olivia, as she’s deaf.
He’s not thrilled with Phoebe being the nanny, but as she’s fluent with ASL and his nanny quit last minute he has no choice. Asher and Phoebe don’t get along well, but Phoebe wins him over after he sees how much Olivia loves her.
Not only is Phoebe his daughter’s nanny, and 24 (14 years his junior) but her dad is the Sherif and his boss. It’s complicated, forbidden, but as feelings grow between them they can’t stay away from each other.
I adored Asher so much as a father, and as a man in general. He was the perfect guy for Phoebe and there for her in ways he didn’t have to be. I was obsessed with them together and even though this was lighter than Corinne’s books usually are, I teared up at the end.
I loved the writing, the characters, and of course the romance. I’m so excited Asher’s siblings are going to be getting books and I can’t wait to read them!

"We'll always find each other. You're the one." "Still and always"
I adore a good second chance romance and Dylan Allen captivated me with Milly and Dean's story. Still the One is one of those books I didn't want to put down, but I also tried to slow it down because I never wanted it to end!
Milly and Dean were high school sweethearts and so in love. It was a real love and one that they thought would be everlasting. There were some huge obstacles out of their control that tore them apart, and now, over a decade later, they're back in each others lives. Milly's life isn't where she thought it would be, but she has a son she loves more than life and now Dean is back.
Dean. Sigh. Dean loves Milly so much and always has. He was an amazing man and boyfriend as a teen, and now grown up, he's even better. Both of them have grown and matured and can see their past situation for what it was and only have the future to look forward to. I love the romance and passion between these two. It's obvious that no matter what happened in their past, for Milly, it's only been Dean, and for Dean, it will only ever be Milly.
Milly is the oldest sister of three and her family storyline is an important part of the book. The first book in this series (Then Came You) establishes the family aspect and even though this could be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend checking out that book first. I've loved both books in the series so far, though this is my favorite. I'm so looking forward to the final book in the series!

This is my favorite kind of Brittainy Cherry book. It had all the feels (no one does emotional books like her) but was also sweet, steamy, and forbidden. It had so much heart and left me in happy tears. Perfect perfect perfect!
Milo and Star meet at a frat party on her twenty first birthday and Star does something impulsive that's not like her. She gets together with Milo. She figures she'll never see him again, so no big deal, right? When she shows up to her student-teaching and finds him sitting in class she figures out it's a very big deal.
This book was a bit forbidden, but let me tell you about the emotions. When I tell you this one hit me so hard. Something came into play later in the book that was so unexpected, but brought such depth to the story and made it stand out far beyond any student teacher romance. Starlet and Milo both needed each other in different ways and had something big in common that not many people truly understood.
"I realize that it's you," I whispered. "What's me?" "You're the something that makes me feel better, even on the worst days."
The Coldest Winter is Brittainy Cherry at her best. It gave me the same kind of vibes as some of my older favorites of hers and I honestly couldn't have loved it more. Milo and Starlet are very much the grumpy/sunshine couple I needed and I highly recommend reading this one! ...more

Every time I pick up an Amy Harmon book I become enthralled by her words and storytelling abilities. I love how she writes books that I normally wouldn't pick up, but I end up falling in love with the stories. A Girl Called Samson was a beautiful journey that hooked me from the start.
Deborah Samson spends most of her young life as an indentured servant to the Thomas family, but even when that servitude is over, she doesn't feel free. As all the Thomas boys have done, Deborah also wants to join the fight and become a solider. She's tall enough, she's strong enough, the only thing holding her back is her gender.
Deborah disguises herself as a young man and goes off to war. I loved being in Deborah's head. She's strong, brave, and determined. She has a strong moral compass and does what needs to be done without complaint. This story follows her as a child, teen, and adult and you see a lot of growth and development as the story goes on.
One of my favorite things about the book was getting to know Deborah through her letters. I also truly loved the romance. It was a slow burn and not the focus of the story by any means, but I loved how it all turned out.
This book was exceptional and I'm so glad I listened to it. I loved the way the narrator really brought the story to life. Once again, Amy Harmon writes another one of my favorite books! I highly recommend picking this one up!

After reading the first book in this series, I knew I wanted Ryan Shay’s book asap. And when I saw it was with Indy… I was even more excited. This one was perfection. I'm 100% sure this is going to be a contender for my top read of 2023. Seriously, I was blown away.
Ryan is one of the biggest stars in the nba and has been made team captain of the Chicago Devils. He’s one of the best guys ever, but he doesn’t always come across warm or inviting. To his teammates, or just people in general. He’s close with his twin sister, Stevie, but aside from that has some major trust issues. Then enters Indy.
Indy is Stevie’s best friend and needs a temporary place to stay. Stevie sweet talks Ryan into this, even though it’s the last thing he wants. He’s one of those people that values his privacy and doesn’t like people in his space. But Indy, she invades his life in every way possible. And with time, he starts to like here there.
“And I’m messy. You don’t like messy.” “I like your mess.” “And I’m needy. I have no idea how to be alone.” “Good. I don’t want you to be alone. I want you to be with me.”
Watching these two slowly fall for one another… it was beautiful. Ryan Shay is everything and Indy was incredibly relatable for me and I loved watching both of their growth in this story. Honestly, I feel like I could gush about this romance all day long. I want to reread it asap and can’t wait until it comes on audio so I can do just that.

Have you ever started a book and just knew it was going to be epic? That’s how I felt with Cruel King. I was obsessed with Gavin and Whitley from the start and I knew this would be a five star favorite for me pretty early on.
If you’ve read the prequel, Cruel Kiss and the rest of the ‘Cruel’ books, you’ve been anticipating Whitley and Gavin like me. Whitley has been in LA working for a few years and she’s back in NYC. I loved the moment she first saw Gavin again after those years.
Gavin and Whitley have always been friends. Each others wingman/wingwoman if you will. But things are different now. It starts with a fake date between them, then quickly turns into a fake fiancé. The feelings between them may have been hidden, but they’ve never been fake.
Whitley was such a boss and I loved how unapologetically herself she was. Gavin was such a fun character and my favorite hero of this series, after Camden Percy of course. My favorite part of this book was how much Gavin loved Whit for who she was. He never tried to tame her or change her, he just loved her for her.
Linde always writes the best angsty romances, and this did have some angst but it was also fun, romantic, and steamy. I highly recommend!
