I wish I could adequately express how much I loved this book. By far the best book I've read all year. Nothing else comes close. It was brilliant. Delphine and Tyler together... I just can't. SO many feels, the emotions were overwhelming, but I couldn't have loved it more. Kate wrote literal perfection here and I can't wait for everyone else to get to experience it.

She was, and always would be, my very favorite sunbeam.
My goodness... I couldn't have loved this more! Avery and Nathan's story was so special to me. I'm obsessed with this series!
Nathan and Avery’s story is a second-chance romance. They dated in high school and were very much in love, but life (ahem… Nathan) happened and things didn’t work out. It’s safe to say they were both ‘the one that got away’ for the other.
Avery has moved on, she’s a teacher who coaches baseball and Nathan was a professional player. But Nathan is back in town… Things don’t work out in her current relationship and she needs a place to stay. Nathan has an extra room.
Oh, the forced proximity of my dreams! Not just that, but workplace romance, small-town goodness, sports romance, and the best familial relationships. So many things I adore in a book. Not to mention the depression representation and honestly one of the best caretaking scenes I’ve ever read. One of my favorite things about this book is how Nathan never made Avery feel hard to love. Sigh.
“Loving you is easy.”
As someone who very much has ‘Oldest Sibling Syndrome,’ I related to Avery so much. So many scenes I read and thought… this is me. It feels nice to be seen in a book in some way. Nathan was truly a gem. Was he perfect, no one is, but he was perfect for Avery and I loved them together so much!
This book made my heart so happy. I can always count on a Brittainy Cherry book to do that. Her writing is one of my favorite things. The Problem with Players is a beautiful romance that will hold a special place in my heart.

“My rainy days are yours, Dominic. If you want them.”
I’m obsessed with Dominic King. I have been since the moment I met him in ‘Flock’. Getting a book from his perspective was something I never thought we’d have but everything I wanted. It was brilliant. Perfect. I laughed, I swooned, and I cried buckets, but I loved every moment. I’m going to make this short and sweet because no one should be spoiled by all the epic we get in this book…
A classic case of a good girl wanting to go bad or, at least, make bad decisions. That’s where I come in. I don’t scare her. I intrigue her.
If you’ve read and loved ‘The Ravenhood’ series, this is a book you need in your life. It has so much we haven’t seen before and so much more insight to the story as a whole. Kate’s writing is always superb and she knocked it out of the park with One Last Rainy Day.

"We'll always find each other. You're the one." "Still and always"
I adore a good second chance romance and Dylan Allen captivated me with Milly and Dean's story. Still the One is one of those books I didn't want to put down, but I also tried to slow it down because I never wanted it to end!
Milly and Dean were high school sweethearts and so in love. It was a real love and one that they thought would be everlasting. There were some huge obstacles out of their control that tore them apart, and now, over a decade later, they're back in each others lives. Milly's life isn't where she thought it would be, but she has a son she loves more than life and now Dean is back.
Dean. Sigh. Dean loves Milly so much and always has. He was an amazing man and boyfriend as a teen, and now grown up, he's even better. Both of them have grown and matured and can see their past situation for what it was and only have the future to look forward to. I love the romance and passion between these two. It's obvious that no matter what happened in their past, for Milly, it's only been Dean, and for Dean, it will only ever be Milly.
Milly is the oldest sister of three and her family storyline is an important part of the book. The first book in this series (Then Came You) establishes the family aspect and even though this could be read as a stand-alone, I would recommend checking out that book first. I've loved both books in the series so far, though this is my favorite. I'm so looking forward to the final book in the series!
If you're looking for a truly romantic second chance romance, I can't recommend Still the One enough! ...more
This is my favorite kind of Brittainy Cherry book. It had all the feels (no one does emotional books like her) but was also sweet, steamy, and forbidden. It had so much heart and left me in happy tears. Perfect perfect perfect!
Milo and Star meet at a frat party on her twenty first birthday and Star does something impulsive that's not like her. She gets together with Milo. She figures she'll never see him again, so no big deal, right? When she shows up to her student-teaching and finds him sitting in class she figures out it's a very big deal.
This book was a bit forbidden, but let me tell you about the emotions. When I tell you this one hit me so hard. Something came into play later in the book that was so unexpected, but brought such depth to the story and made it stand out far beyond any student teacher romance. Starlet and Milo both needed each other in different ways and had something big in common that not many people truly understood.
"I realize that it's you," I whispered. "What's me?" "You're the something that makes me feel better, even on the worst days."
The Coldest Winter is Brittainy Cherry at her best. It gave me the same kind of vibes as some of my older favorites of hers and I honestly couldn't have loved it more. Milo and Starlet are very much the grumpy/sunshine couple I needed and I highly recommend reading this one! ...more
“Their story doesn’t change the significance of ours.”
This is the absolute BEST thing I've read this year. Reverse is everything I want in a book. All the angst, emotion, steam, and romance. It was absolutely perfect for me.
If you’ve read Drive, you know all about the Crownes and Butlers. If you haven’t read Drive, I encourage you to stop reading this review and pick up that epic book. Reverse is a second generation book and trust me when I say it will mean everything to those of us that have read and loved Drive
“You’re a media princess.” Her eyes narrow. “And you’re rock royalty. We both have legacies to try and live up to.”
Natalie Butler and Easton Crowne meet in an interesting way. It starts with some emails, then an interview of sorts. They become friends but there is so much more there. Neither one of them have ever met another person that makes their soul sing like this. They are meant to be, fated. But it’s complicated with their families history.
I want to cling to his star as it burns the brightest- if only to be with him for a little longer. If what Easton said is true, and we live in echoes of defining moments, I want to remain in this one for as long as I possibly can.
Natalie is a journalist, like father like daughter… and Easton is on the verge of something huge. He’s got even more talent than his father if you can believe it. They both are on a path the greatness, but taking that path together comes with so many challenges and difficulties.
When I tell you this book will put you through the ringer, boy do I mean it. It was one of the most romantic books I’ve ever read with a hero that’s unparalleled. But the angst. When I tell you I cried over this angst, I mean it. I was so upset it brought me to tears. But those are the best books. The ones that truly make you feel. This story brought out all of those feels for me.
Kate's writing is mesmerizing and this story captivated me all the way through. It was a long book, but it didn't feel long. Easton Crowne is everything and soooo romantic. I couldn’t love this book more if I tried. It’s such a special story to me and I know I’ll be re-reading it for years to come. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this one!

The Plight Before Christmas was the perfect holiday read. I smiled so big, laughed so hard, and loved it so much! Seriously, perfection!
Whitney is having a rough start to her holiday season. First, she gets passed on a promotion that she deserves, and now she’s back home for Christmas where her car breaks down and nothing seems to be going right. Aside from spending time with her hilarious family that is. And then he shows up… her first love and college boyfriend, Eli.
What are the odds that Eli has recently started working with Whitney’s brother and he brings his lonely new coworker home for Christmas? You would think they’d be low, but with Whitney’s odds… well, it happened. Eli was the one that got away. The one that broke her heart. And now he’s here. And ready to win her back.
Oh the romance in this book… so wonderful and sweet. This book had it. That Christmas magic. One of my favorite things about it was the family dynamic. If you come from a crazy and fun family, you know all about it and it never gets old. I loved every page of this book!
We all know Kate can write angsty, emotional books, but I personally love it when she writes fun stories. This one was such a blast to read. It was funny, swoony, and steamy. If you pick up just one holiday book this year, let it be this one! It was fantastic!!...more
The Mastermind was another masterpiece by Dylan Allen! Jules and Omar were everything and I couldn't get enough of their story. Romantic, pass5 stars
The Mastermind was another masterpiece by Dylan Allen! Jules and Omar were everything and I couldn't get enough of their story. Romantic, passionate, with a bit of suspense and angst, this was perfect for me! I loved being back in the world of 'Rivers Wilde' again and can't wait to read more!
I read my first Elsie Silver book this year and I enjoyed it a lot, but I loved this one even more! The Front Runner had the perfect mix of angst, steam, emotion, and fun! Stefan and Mira were absolutely fantastic and complimented each other so well.
"I'm not the villain you think I am." "Or maybe you're exactly who I think you are and I like it."
If you’ve read ‘Photo Finish’, you probably don’t think too highly of Stefan Dalca. I know I didn’t right away. He’s an enemy/rival Gold Rush Ranch, and Mira’s best friend runs that ranch. Mira is a veterinarian and runs between the ranches taking care of all the horses. When she needs Stefan’s help to save a baby foal, she sees a totally different side of him.
Misunderstood/broody heroes… they’re one of my favorite things in a romance and Stefan is exactly that. How he appears to be is not how he is at all. I adored him. Watching him with Loki warmed my heart, and I loved seeing him with his sister. I especially loved watching him thaw out Mira little by little. It took some time, but he was persistent and eventually, she couldn’t resist him.
This is the third book in Elsie Silver’s ‘Gold Rush Ranch’ but can definitely be read as a stand alone. I loved being back in this world and I’m glad I’d read the previous one before this because it was nice knowing a lot of the secondary characters and their story. This is lovely forbidden-ish romance that I couldn’t get enough of!

“You don’t look at me like I’m tragic. You look at me like we’re inevitable.”
A Photo Finish is my first book by Elsie Silver and I enjoyed it so much! I’ll definitely be checking out more by this author. I loved the banter, it had the emotion I crave in a romance while still being fun. The heroine was fantastic and sassy and the hero was grumpy and complicated in the best way.
Cole meets ‘Pretty in Purple’ aka Violet virtually. Violet doesn’t know what Cole looks like or who he is, and he doesn’t know anything about Violet either, except what she looks like. When they meet in person unexpectedly, it knocks Cole’s socks off. He doesn’t react in the best way to them being connected through is brother and family’s ranch.
Fast forward a few years later and Violet is riding as a jockey and gets hurt. She has to recover before getting back to work and ends up living in the main house where Cole happens to be staying. I love me a good forced proximity romance and with the past between them… gah. The tension was so high and it was so so good!
As always, my favorite part of this book was watching these two truly start to fall for each other. It was a slow burn with a grumpy hero and that always hits my love buttons. Sweet, steamy, and swoony- this is one you don’t want to miss!...more
I've read most of Corinne's books and I've loved so many of them, but this has to be one of her best. She really brought the feels, angst, and5 stars
I've read most of Corinne's books and I've loved so many of them, but this has to be one of her best. She really brought the feels, angst, and emotion with You Loved Me Once. This is an addicting and compelling read all about the choices we make that can be wrong even if they're right, and right even if they're wrong.
Serenity is a doctor who has a passion for what she does. After losing her mom to cancer, it solidified that this is what she was meant to do with her life. Now, fourteen years later, she's running her first clinical trial that could change the lives of so many women fighting for their lives (and fertility) with ovarian cancer. With this trial comes a blast from her past and some complications she never saw coming.
Serenity has been a bit standoffish since not only losing her mom, but her college fiancé. She's spent the last few years being casual with another doctor, Westin Grant. Westin is everything and works hard to break down the walls Ren has put up. She swore she'd never let herself fall in love again because she didn't want to experience that heartbreak but Westin doesn't give her much choice. He's pretty incredible.
As I said before this book is about choices. Ren has to make a choice that could effect her career, her relationship, and her world as she knows it. It's a situation I wouldn't want to be in and that choice keeps us on pins and needles seeing how things would work out for her.
I loved watching the growth and changes Serenity made throughout this book. There were so many great scenes with her family and of course, my favorite part about this was the romance. Though the romance isn't always first and foremost in this story it plays a large part. Westin is most definitely my favorite hero of Corinne's (sorry, Mark) and he was incredible, patient, and so loving. This story touched me and made me think, feel, and fall in love. Highly recommend this one!

Our love story isn't your everyday romance. And I know it’ll never end. Because this is us… And us, is forever.
I am obsessed with Beth and Carter! Dylan Allen has this way about writing characters that speak to you and I am so in love with this story.
I’m always here for a second chance romance and Beth and Carter’s was one of the best. Carter meets Beth one summer and they both fall hard for one another. That summer was everything for both of them. But things happen and miscommunication comes up, and they spend the next decade apart.
When Beth and Carter meet again, it’s not an easy path for them to be together. They go through so many obstacles, but their love is stronger. There was some drama and angst, but it only made the happily ever after between these two that much sweeter.
I don’t want to talk too much about the story, because you need to experience these gasp worthy moments for yourself, but I will speak about the characters. I adored Carter, but Beth… Beth is QUEEN. She is one of those heroines you can’t help but to completely fall for. So strong and relatable, and honestly she made this book for me. We all love a good hero, but when there is a heroine I have this much admiration for, it really makes the book for me.
I love romances that are full of passion, and no one writes passion quite like this author. If you want a romance that is passionate, epic, raw and gritty at times, heartbreaking but also healing, I can’t recommend this one enough. These characters and this book will stay with me.
“You asked me when I’d stop trying I said never. You asked me how long I’d love you I told you forever.”
I love her beyond limits, because she loved me through what I forced her to endure. She loved me though I made us impossible.
The Finish Line is the book I never knew I needed. I was perfectly content with how 'Exodus' ended, but now that I've read this, I realized just how much I wanted and needed more of this story. What an epic ending!
This book was such a journey. It was a long one, but every single part was necessary. There were parts that felt a little random, but then later it would just click. Everything was important. It all came together seamlessly. I laughed, I cried, I cheered for these characters. Cecelia was so fantastic and strong. I loved her even more in this book than I did the others. She was a queen and finally, after everything, she got her rightful and deserving king.
I have no doubt that The Finish Line will be one of my top reads of 2021. It's definitely the best book I've read this year so far. If you've read 'Flock' and 'Exodus', you need this book in your life! And if you haven't, get to them asap. You won't regret it.
Chock-full of emotion, suspense, steam, and ALL the freaking feels, Kate Stewart delivers an intense and brilliant end to The Ravenhood books. These are must reads that I highly recommend.
Jameson Taylor is a masterpiece, and I’m in way, way over my head.
This book absolutely positively slayed me. It was everything I wanted and more, and I was completely blown away. Jay McLean always hits me right in my feels but also gives me the perfect amount of humor, angst, and romance. This gave me the best kind of old school mature YA/NA vibes and I was so here for it!
Holden is a character I've loved since I first met him in Leo. Holden has a lot going on right now. He's a senior in high school, but school isn't the only thing on his mind. He's carrying a lot on his shoulders. Jameson Taylor is new to school and Holden is taken with her. If you think Holden is carrying a lot of weight, meet Jamie.
Jamie's life has been so incredibly hard. It's incomparable to most teenage struggles and I felt for her. I had so much respect for her and I wanted more than anything for her to be okay. I adored Holden so much. I mean, Jay McLean writes these special kind of heroes that have the biggest hearts, but are also alluring and you really can't help to love them. That is Holden.
Maybe Holden Eastwood isn’t the flame to my moth. Maybe he’s the moon. The light. Guiding me out of my darkness.
Honestly, I could say so much about this book but the main take away is that you need to read it and experience it for yourself. It was completely compelling from start to finish. And that ending.... that ending left me in a state of shock. I need to know what happens from here and I would do just about anything to get my hands on part two of this duet. Thankfully, I'm fairly certain these two won't be releasing too far apart and I'm sure it will be worth the wait. But seriously.. that ending!
Pieces of You was one of my most anticipated books of 2021 and it's turned into one of my favorite books of 2021. Jay McLean never disappoints. This one put me through the ringer and gave me all the feels and I couldn't have loved it more! Highly recommended for anyone looking for that old school NA angst feel!
“You’re not here to be average, Jamie,” he scoffs. “You’re here to be extraordinary.”
I thought Flock was epic and it blew my mind, but I had no idea, no clue, just how epic the conclusion to this story would be. As of now, Exodus is the very best book I've read this year. And I have a feeling it's going to be really difficult to top! It's truly brilliant and a must read.
“It takes a queen to love and understand a king. Did you think this would break me? You made me!”
Cecelia's journey continues... One of my favorite parts of this story is watching Cecelia's growth and seeing her strength. The romance aspect was incredible, but there were so many more complexities. I felt so much for these characters and I flew through this book. It was a long one, but it didn't feel long at all. It was completely unputdownable and I FELT SO MUCH. I'm one of those 'give me all the feels' readers, so this was honestly perfect for me.
There is so much I want to say about this book, SO MUCH, but I'm not going to because I don't want to spoil 'Flock', and going into these books blind is such an experience and it's one I don't want to ruin for anyone. These books hit me so hard. They're emotional, twisty, original, angsty, steamy, and everything I want in a book. The Ravenhood duet is of the best duets I've ever read. Kate Stewart's talented writing and passionate storytelling really shines with this one and I can't recommend it enough. My favorite Kate Stewart book (and I've read them all) and my top 2020 read.
“You left the best part out of your story.” He draws his brows and shakes his head. “Don’t.” “Us. That’s the best part. Our part.”
What an epic way to end The Underdogs series. Every book in this series has been a five star favorite for me and this was no exception. After reading the first part of this story in the 'Team Player' anthology, I was chomping at the bit to get to this. It was everything I wanted and more. Lance and Harper stole my heart. I loved this book so much!
Harper and Lance meet in college. Lance is a football player but also loves boxing. He uses as an outlet, as he’s got a lot going on in his family life. He’s a serious guy and is a little broody and stand-offish at first. Harper is a dancer, but is waiting to follow her dreams until she gets a college education. She’s not traditionally the most beautiful girl, but I loved seeing her through Lance’s eyes. These two have a bumpy start to their relationship, but they fall in love. It's a bit forbidden due to who Harper's dad is, but they make it work. Or they try to.
What I loved most about this story was the way these two fought for one another. Their were times Lance fought for Harper, and there were times that Harper fought for Lance. They never gave up on each other, even when things seemed impossible. And oh my goodness, the way that Lance saw Harper, the way he looked at her.. my heart. I love that Kate wrote a character that wasn't conventionally beautiful. My heart was so heavy with what Harper went through but Lance saw her as the most gorgeous thing alive and isn't that the way it's supposed to be when you truly love someone?
“She’s a six at most, why are you wasting time with a six?” “Add five to that.” “What?” “She’s my eleven.”
Not only do we get Lance and Harper's story, we get a fair bit of Theo and Laney, as well as Troy and Clarrisa. I loved getting more from these two couples and I adored the ending of all their stories.
This story was amazing. It had the perfect amount of angst, heartache, and emotion. It's a beautiful second chance romance you don't want to miss out on. The Guy in the Middle is by far my favorite book of 2020 so far, and I'm sure it will be a contender for my best book of the year!
I cling to him knowing that from this moment forward, all my steps will always lead back to him. This isn’t commitment. This is forever.

When I read 'The Guy on the Right' earlier this year, I fell in love. That book was all kinds of epic and I was instantly intrigued with Troy, who was Theo's roommate. Then we found out the connection between Troy and Dante and I knew I had to have his book. I loved TGotR so much, I didn't know if this would be quite as good for me. Well... it was. In fact, I think it was a tiny bit better. Because along with being hilarious and a blast to read, it gave me all the feels. And Troy Jenner... Troy is Kate's best hero to date. I was obsessed with this book!
Troy Jenner told a lie one night to a pretty girl, and his life was forever changed. Troy and Clarissa meet at a bar and really hit it off. Clarissa is a new teacher, and she believes Troy is one too. A few months later, she finds out she's pregnant. And then she finds Troy. And then... she finds out Troy is not a teacher. No, he's not a teacher at all. He's an 18 year old high school student. Clarissa is devastated and more than a little upset, which is understandable. This puts her entire career, her entire life in jeopardy. She shuts Troy out and never wants to see him again.
Fast forward 5-6 years later. Even though Troy has never met his son, he's always done the best he can for him. He's been on the sidelines, watching out for them and helping when Clarissa will let him. But now that he has his life together, he's a senior in college and headed to the NFL, he feels like he can approach. Things are about to get hella complicated for all parties involved...
He’s so smart, my son. My son. He wasn’t a mistake. I refuse to believe it. I will be whatever he needs. For my son. It’s time to be a father.
My absolute favorite thing about this book was Troy and Dante's relationship. Troy really stepped up for him, and not only became a constant present in his life, but also his best friend. It was truly the sweetest, most heartwarming thing to witness. There were so many scenes between these two that made me laugh hysterically. I adored them together. I have to admit, it took a little while for me to warm to Clarissa. But I do understand why she made the choices she did.
Not only was the familial aspect of this story fantastic, but the romance was great as well. It was steamy, sweet, and messy at times, but it was still beautiful. Kate Stewart does the best job of writing love story's that are a bit of a mess, but still perfectly imperfect. I know I've said it once, but it bears repeating. Troy Jenner is the best hero Kate has ever written. That's hard for me to say because I love her Jack and Reid, but Troy truly takes the cake for me.
“I’m lucky you’re mine.” He turns to me, his eyes filling with emotion as I tell him my truth. “You’ve surprised me, Troy. In the best way.”
I loved that The Guy on the Left wasn't a carbon copy of TGotR. They are totally different books in a lot of ways, but both of them are equally wonderful. If you're looking for a heartwarming story that has a little angst, a lot of laughs, and a ton of heart, pick this book up! It's definitely one of my top top favorites of the year!!
“You and Dante, you redefined my dreams. My everything is yours.”

The Guy in the Middle (Fair Catch) by Kate Stewart
There's a lion inside that little lamb, and if that was an invitation, I'm all too ready to unleash her.
The Guy in the Middle (Fair Catch) is Lance’s story from ‘The Guy on the Right’. Lance is Theo’s quiet and mysterious roommate. I have been dying to learn more about him and I loved him (and this novella) more than I thought possible! I was seriously obsessed with this and couldn’t put it down. Lance and Harper are everything!
Gah! It was so beautiful and emotional. I loved it so much!
I am so so happy that this is continuing on to a full length novel coming this winter, because I need more! The start of this has so much potential and I know this book will be amazing. I give it 5 full stars!
Fast Break: HOOPS Novella by Kennedy Ryan
5 stars
“Sometimes it’s good to want too much. Sometimes wanting ‘too much’ is how we get it all.”
If you’ve read ‘Block Shot’ you know Quinn Barrow. She is Banner’s best friend as well as an athlete, an enterpenure and an amputee. She is strong, fierce, and an amazing heroine. Jag sees her and wants to know her, but Quinn doesn’t make it easy for him.
Ean Jagger is the an NBA coach. He’s quiet, thoughtful, intense, and great at his job. Quinn likes Jag, but she’s hesitant to be with him. I love how he showed her he was in it for real. It was such a great story. I only wish we had more of them! Kennedy Ryan knows how to pull on my heartstrings and make me feel while reading. Though this was mostly on the light side, it had some emotional parts and that speech at the end made me cry. I adored it!
Love Game by Emma Scott
5 stars
“It’s a crazy life, isn’t it?” I said. “Good and bad. Ugly memories and beautiful things, all existing at the same time.” She smiled and nodded. “I think that sums it up just about perfectly.”
Out of all the novella’s I’ve read in this anthology so far, Love Game was the most sports heavy. This story actually made me want to watch some tennis. Reading about Kai playing was intense, fun, and such a treat.
Kai Soloman has the potential to be the best of the best in tennis… if he could get his attitude in check. He needs help and Daisy Watson is just the girl to help him. Daisy is incredible. She’s a bit scarred from something that happened in her past and Kai is grieving a loss of his own. Together, they help one another in different ways.
This is a fantastic good girl/bad boy romance. I love Emma’s gorgeous writing and I couldn't have loved this more!
A Slice of Love by Teagan Hunter
4 stars
I have another shot with her, and I’m not going to screw it up this time.
Jonas and Frankie knew each other in high school. Frankie had the double whammy of being both the pastor’s daughter, as well as the principal’s. She was pretty off limits to everyone. But Jonas had it bad for her. Something went down between them and it’s been years since they’ve seen each other, but Jonas has never forgotten about Frankie.
After college and an injury that has threatened his NFL career, Jonas is home getting PT and he runs into Frankie. The spark that was always between them is still there, but Jonas has a lot of explaining to do…. I loved these two together. I especially loved how they both carried that torch for each other for all those years.
Teagan Hunter always makes me laugh with her stories. This was no exception. It was funny, heartfelt, and so sweet!...more
