I absolutely adored little Isabella, I just wanted to squeeze her every time she was on page. Our MCs are just perfect for each other, they balance and work out so well, the way they bring out these new sides to each other and encourage each other to be their bests was just so inspiring. Charlotte is such a strong woman and has been through so much in life, just watching to explore the true her and what she wanted in life was so awe-inspiring, I was literally smiling so much for her. Charlotte is described as a warrior, and she is, but I think the best way to describe her is as a mother bear because that woman will do absolutely anything to protect that child and the people that she loves. Declan is on his own level, watching him get to explore and open up to this new side of life and watching him come fully into his role, as not just a leader but also an individual, was, honestly, really entertaining. He is such the perfect sick match to Charlotte, especially with his encouragement towards the end there. I do think these characters had the perfect ending for them and it wrapped it up really nicely, but I do also look forward to little snippets of them in the rest of the series. The side characters provided moments of perfect comedic relief and the perfect of times, I would literally burst out laughing multiple times. The whole plot in and of itself was really interesting and I can’t wait to watch more of it play out and all the new layers that are going to be added to it....more

The tension throughout this entire book was so perfectly done, literally right up to the end, there was still shocks happening. The narrations for the audiobook, were spot on for me personally and it made the writing have that much more of an impact. Especially Alexis’s internal monologue and her relationship with Nyx, like that whole thing was just so perfect and such a good time, that it added an extra layer to the story because I think without it, it would have been too intense and the story could of become overpowered. Our MMCs are morally grey and moody on a whole other level, it’s like they tried to keep out doing each other on who could be the most grumpy, but the way they became so possessive and protective over our FMC, just had me kicking my feet and smiling. The plot and the politics of this world were so strong and you are immediately immersed straight in and you are hooked from the get go. The world building is done flawlessly and with it’s modern elements, it really makes you feel like you are right there alongside the characters and experiencing the world and it’s changes with them. I am so eager to see where the rest of this series is going because I just need loads more, like I need a never ending story here, I feel like personally there may even be some potential for a spin off for a certain character or two. ...more

I’m really intriguedWe are thrown straight into the action for this one and it is definitely a tough one, so make sure to check the trigger warnings. I’m really intrigued to read the physical/kindle format as well, as there are some quotes I want to highlight out. I absolutely love Cora Reilly’s writing, she was my first introduction to mafia romance when I started reading again a few years back and her work and characters will always hold a special place in my heart. And getting to explore the next generation, hit me with such nostalgia, there is still some work of hers that I need to read but I’m so excited to be back within this world. Cora Reilly takes some really hard topics and handles them with such care, she wrote the story of these characters with such delicacy, I felt every moment of it, I was on such an emotional rollercoaster with them. These characters are so strong when you take into consideration everything they have been through together, they build a bond like no other, watching it grow from start to finish was so wholesome and will be one that sticks with me. They’re story brought me so much joy and happiness, I was smiling like a kid at Christmas by the end. Honestly such a beautiful read, with tension and angst throughout, this one is a mixture of so much. The dual narration was perfect for this book and the narrators did an amazing job. Highly recommend picking up if you haven’t already....more

I was so ready for August’s story and it didWell what a way to end this series, Monica Murphy really brought it full circle and I loved every moment. I was so ready for August’s story and it did not disappoint, he is one grumpy bastard but watching him with Sinclair was just so argh, it had me giggling and kicking my feet. Don’t get me wrong he is an absolute arse to her, and well pretty much everyone, but watching him grow and develop when thrown into a situation that is new to him and he doesn’t know how to handle, was not only entertaining but was also so wholesome in such a unique way. Now I’m not a makeup person, you will never see me with it but I will not look at lipstick the same way after this book because now my imagination will just run wild. Sinclair is such a strong character and to still look at the positive side of August even after everything he put her through, was a true show of her character. As a couple they should not work as well as they do, they are complete opposites but they balance each other out perfectly and the bond they build is just beautiful. Their story is such a tense one and I love how their past isn’t just brushed under the rug and forgotten about and you watch them come to terms with it and where they are out now in life. I loved the writing style and I was gripped straight in from the get go and got lost in their world. I am so in love with this universe and reading this book has just made me want to go back and start all over again. It's so sad to see it come to a close but it was done with the right story and the right characters, this world will forever hold a special place in my heart. ...more

I’ve loved getting to explore these characters and their story, there are some really intricate and well done connections throughout, that really give it this added layer. Storm is so much more than what we see of him in the first book and really getting to look deeper into who he is was really wholesome and gave me a whole new found respect for him. Briar is such a sweet soul that has been handed way too many bad hands in life and did not deserve the shit that she went through, it made me so happy to see how far she had come at the end and to truly stand up for herself and what she wanted out of life. Also read Storm’s bonus epilogue and it wrapped up their story so nicely and with so much happiness. Another incredible read that I highly recommend to anyone....more

I felt the book to be perfectly paced for them and what they were going through, the spice was *chefs kiss* and I just ate it all up. The writing style was so smooth and flowed really nicely, there’s the odd few time jumps but honestly can barely notice other than when its acknowledged, it’s that smooth. I’m so excited to explore more of these characters and dive deeper into their backstories. OMG I have loved these characters and their story, they were literally perfect for each other. I’m obsessed with Conan, he is such a golden retriever for Hallie, even if he is a little twisted in the head, but it just makes you love him more. It was really nice to get to see the world and himself, from his perspective and what made him into the man he is today. Hallie is such a strong character and she goes through so much in this book alone, she is truly an awe-inspiring person. Seeing her reaction to the world she is thrusted into and how she handles it, is a real testament to her character and how she listens to both her head and heart. Together they face a lot of challenges and battle them head on. I was nearing being an emotional wreck towards the end there but I managed to keep it together and only tear up a little. But they did also have me laughing, cause the banter between them was perfect. It was really nice to see this other side of the games and how some of the other characters viewed them. I was utterly obsessed with the writing, it was so smooth and the plot worked at the perfect pace for them. I literally read it in one sitting, staying up till 5am to finish it. I’m ready for the next book right now, cause I need to know where we go from here, you can’t leave a girl hanging like that. ...more

Both Sage and Beau come so far from the start of this book, let alone from when we first meet them in the other books, they are both such strong willed, powerful individuals in their own right and the determination they both have throughout their story to achieve all their dreams and goals, is so inspiring to watch. They both grow so much from the beginning of this book and they're relationship develops at the perfect pace, to some it may feel like it was fast but as you dive into their relationship, it is actually perfect for them. Arabella is such a strong character but she show's these moments of vulnerability which add so much to her as a character. Watching her go through what she did, had me on such an emotional rollercoaster, I was definitely teary eyed at points. Rowan is such a sweet soul and he gives off all the grumpy vibes, but watching him with Arabella just had me kicking my feet. Their story is so sweet and wholesome, it gave all the right vibes and was just what I need right now. Well this has been the perfect kick off book to this series, I have loved it. The writing is just so quick, easy and it immerses you into the world and the lives of the characters straight from the get go. Unravelling this mystery and falling in love with the characters at the same, was the perfect balance to this entire book, also spice levels were absolutely spot fucking on. These characters, well, what a rollercoaster they have had, I really felt for all the shit that Emma went through and how tough a world she lived in, it is such a true representation of a woman’s role in a man’s world. Alex was the perfect gentleman to her, even with his stalker tendencies...more

I devoured this book in a matter of sittings and just fell entirely in love with these characters and their story. I have been on one hell of a rollercoaster ride, I have felt every emotion possible and feel honoured to have watched their story play out. I was tearing up throughout the whole book, but that ending finally got me and I let the tears fall. Teddy is such a wholesome character who you can not help but love and he will have you laughing over the silliest things and his deliverance is just perfect. He’s chaotic, passionate and will do anything for the people he loves, even if it means hiding his true self. Henrik is such a broody reclusive character when we first meet him but watching him come out of his shell and show his love for Teddy and Karolina, was just really wholesome. Watching him come into who he is as a person and the way he takes the time to not only educate himself but to experiment on his limits and boundaries, to find where he is truly comfortable in life and his sexuality was really awe-inspiring, and you get this whole new level of respect for him. They both get thrown into a situation that they are completely unprepared for and do make some rash decisions, but they handle it all with so much love and respect for not only each other but also little Karolina and the impact that everything has on her, they ensure that she is a main priority and that she is protected no matter the cost. Their story is one that will forever live with me, there are so many important moments throughout this book that are a true representation of life and how the world reacts. Topics are handled with such care and the messages that are said in this book are ones that should be told worldwide. If you have not picked up Emily Rath or the Jacksonville Rays series, this is your sign to go do so now, I just know you’ll love these characters as much as me....more

Well, I don’t know what I was expecting but it I received an advance review copy for free from Ellie Marney, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Well, I don’t know what I was expecting but it was not that. I have been with these characters from the start but the growth in this book alone was just insane. Both their professional and personal relationships shone through nicely in this book and balanced out really well. I was so happy for their ending together and think it was rounded out in the perfect place for them. Watching them both find their boundaries and where they felt comfortable in life, was really wholesome, knowing what they have been through. Now the story as a whole, I was on a roundabout the entire time and didn’t think I was ever going to get off at the right exit. That ending has had me shook and I mean the literal ending there, surely it can not just be left there like that, not after everything we have been through with all the characters, it just can’t be possible. I think that ending will forever haunt me knowing that it’s just been left like that, with so many possibilities. All Shall Mourn releases on 5th February, so now is the perfect time to catch up on the first two books in time for this release....more

I loved the characters and their dynamics, how they built this bond before even developing a relationship further. The work place romance, with a little bit of enemies to lovers, with the tiniest bit of miscommunication (in my opinion) and I mean tiniest, gave it so much tension just watching it bubble. Vaughn was grovelling so good there at the end the man went to extremes to get his girl back and I was here for it. OMG where to begin with this book, it had me engrossed from the get go. I was so invested in these characters and their story, it had me guessing at every turn. The only reason I couldn't rate this book higher was because I had guessed where it was going back in chapter 5, although it did still have me making other theories all the way till the end, but I just personally wished I hadn't made that connection and theory so early on into the book, that is entirely on me and not the author. I loved the writing style and how well it all flowed, if the authors other work is like this, then I know I am going to be hooked. I can't wait to check more of it out and this is your sign to pick this book up now....more

This one took me a little to get into, as it wasn’t giving me the vibes that I normally get from a Karina Halle book, but as soon as I hit 20%, god did it change. The moment the tension started to build and more of the plot/mystery aspect started to come into it, I was hooked and couldn’t put the book down. I was not expecting that twist at the end and very much had my mind blown, I wish I caught my reaction on camera. I loved the character’s and the different layers to them, and how well they blended together, their personalities came together so well. Honestly another Karina Halle book that I loved and I can’t wait for more....more

I’m so glad that I finally got round to reading Eli and Ava’s story. I love them as character’s and the complexity of them, not just as individuals but also as a couple. Their story is definitely an interesting one, getting to see it all play out in more detail, after everything we see in the previous books, definitely gives it that added layer of tension and satisfaction when they get their HEA. Watching them both grow, Ava becoming such a strong willed character and Eli letting his walls come down, was so breathtakingly wholesome, I generally just really loved getting to read this book.
