The story starts off with Bluebell, the newly appointed Wish Fairy, buying some honey from the bumblebees that make the honey, in order to make some delicious honey cakes. But unfortunately, Bluebell ends up being arrested by Queen Caraway and it turns out that the Queen’s honey has been stolen. So, Queen Caraway wishes for Bluebell to find out who stole her honey.
Can Bluebell solve this mystery? Find out in this book!
So, after reading the first book in this series, I was dying to read more adventures from Bluebell the Wish Fairy and man, this sequel does not disappoint me! P.J. Reed did a fantastic job at writing this story as the tone of this story shifts to a mystery genre, rather than be a straight up adventure genre like in the first book. I really loved this change in genre for the second book because I always loved reading mystery books and this book does a great job at setting up the mystery of who stolen the honey from the Queen and how Bluebell and her friends try to solve the case. I also loved the relationship that Bluebell has with both Tobin the Gnome and newcomer, Billy the bee as they both provided some interesting dynamics with Bluebell. Tobin is as usual, usually stern with Bluebell, while Billy is much more playful towards Bluebell. Emma Gribble’s artwork is great to look at as they are simplistic yet beautiful and they greatly complement the cute and mysterious tone of this book.
Overall, “Bluebell and the Silver Palace” is a fantastic sequel to the first “Bluebell” book and if you love reading about mysteries and delicious food, then this book is definitely worth checking out! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing really inappropriate in this book.

The book starts off with a rescue cat named Rupert, who is being taken in to an Animal Rescue Center in Romania and is getting ready to be adopted by a girl living in England called Ruby. But when Rupert ends up falling out of the truck that was going to take him to his new home, he ended up running off to the forest and it was then that Rupert discovers that his journey back to the rescue center will be more difficult than he realizes.
Will Rupert be able to escape from the forest and will he be adopted by Ruby?
Find out in this book!
Elsa Joseph has done a great job at writing this book as the story is full of drama and heartwarming moments. I will admit that the scene where Rupert falls out of the truck and he has to find his way back to the center in the dangerous forest took me by surprise since I never expected this book to go in that direction. I also loved the fact that the first half of this book takes place in Romania since I rarely read children’s books that take place in Romania and it was nice that the animal rescue center treated Rupert extremely well. Jonny Hossain’s artwork was interesting to look at. I loved how colorful the world looks and I love how the characters have happy expressions on their faces whenever they are happy.
However, there are times where the characters’ expressions are a bit stiff during the more intense scenes. Like, the characters would still look happy, even if they are in a dangerous situation.
Overall, “Rupert’s Journey Home” is definitely worth the read if you are looking for a story that has a colorful atmosphere and is full of drama and emotion. I would recommend this book to children ages six and up since the scenes of Rupert being lost in the forest might be a little intense for smaller children. ...more

The book So, I received a copy of this cute little children’s book called “The King Must Laugh” by Godwin Temisa and man, was this book a joy to read!
The book starts off with a dog named Sparky, who enjoys making people laugh and his dream is to become a clown for the King of the land. But unfortunately, Sparky ends up falling ill and he asks his friend, Mya the Cat, to go to the King and make him laugh in his place. So, Mya goes to the King’s palace and tries to make the king laugh, but she keeps on messing up her routine.
Can Mya make the King laugh and will Sparky’s dream to become a clown come true?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! This book was really enjoyable! I loved the way that Godwin Temisa made this book so cute and heartwarming to read through. I really loved the relationship between Sparky and Mya as they have a great friendship and I loved the fact that Mya was willing to help out Sparky, when Sparky got sick. Another thing that I liked about this book was the artwork. Godwin Temisa’s artwork was extremely unique, as the characters have odd and detailed designs and yet, those designs made the characters really stand out to me. The artwork reminded me of those 90s cartoons, like “Duckman” and “Rugrats” that have unique designs to the characters and the artwork in this book made me feel nostalgic for those cartoons.
Overall, “The King Must Laugh” is a truly adorable and heartwarming book for anyone who loves reading books that deal with friendships. I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.

In this second book of the “Terry N Finn” series, Terry the Turtle and Finn the Fish go to school for the first time in their lives and once they arrived there, they will soon discover that there are so many things that they want to learn, which includes learning to make new friends.
TM Williams has once again crafted a truly cute and inspiring book about the importance of friendship and education! I just loved the fact that this book is spent on Terry and Finn’s time in school and how learning about various things in life, like about how nature works, can help them in the long run. It was also nice seeing Terry and Finn make new friends in school as they are usually shown by themselves in most of the books. TM Williams’ artwork is once again extremely well done as we have these adorable characters be put against a realistic and beautiful underwater setting and the text is once again shown in a blue blocky design that really makes this book stand out from other children’s books.
Overall, “Terry N Finn: First Day of School” is a great book for children who want to read books that deal with sea life, as well as the importance of going to school. ...more

Terry the Turtle and Finn the Fish have been best friends for a while now and in this fifth book in the “Terry N Finn” series, Terry and Finn discovered a treasure map and they decided to go on a treasure hunting adventure to find the treasure chest.
So, I was surprised to find out about this interesting children’s book series and I have to say that I really enjoyed this book in the “Terry N Finn” series! T.M. Williams did a fantastic job at both writing and illustrating this book! I loved the fact that Terry and Finn are such good friends and the fact that they spent most of this book encouraging each other during their treasure hunt, really made their friendship with each other that much stronger and I really loved seeing both Terry and Finn go on a treasure hunting adventure together. I also really loved T.M. Williams’ artwork in this book. I love how adorable the characters look, especially Terry and Finn and I really loved how the characters are constantly shown underwater and the underwater background looks so gorgeous. I especially love how creative the text looks in this book as the text are shown in blue blocky letters and they really stand out in the book.

Well, it is Easter time and that means that it is time to read another children’s book that deals with Easter! So, I was given this unique children’s Well, it is Easter time and that means that it is time to read another children’s book that deals with Easter! So, I was given this unique children’s book called “Easter Bogey” by Si Baker and man, was this book so unique to read through!
So, the book starts off with a young bear cub named Dan and Dan loved to pick his nose and take out some boogers and place them in various places, like in his friends’ hairs or under his bed. One night however, the Easter Bunny ended up injuring his foot and because of this, he cannot deliver the eggs to the children around the world. So, Dan decided to help the Easter Bunny deliver the eggs in time for Easter, while leaving behind some of his boogers for the kids!
Wow…. this book was extremely interesting! Si Baker did a great job at creating a children’s book that is unique and gross at the same time. I do like the fact that despite the fact that Dan enjoys picking out boogers from his nose, he is ultimately a nice guy who wants to do the right thing and I loved the fact that he was willing to help out the Easter Bunny when the Easter Bunny injured himself. I was also surprised by how charming this book can get. Even though I am not the biggest fan of gross out humor and this book has plenty of gross out humor, I actually found this book to be quite charming.
Overall, “Easter Bogey” is a charming children’s book for kids who love Easter and gross out humor and kids will definitely enjoy the unique nature of this book! ...more

The story starts off with a man named Alvin who was busy working on some documents in a mysterious mansion that he just bought. But then suddenly, Alvin and his two loyal dogs, Shadow and Faith are then attacked by a dog ghost named Nala. It then turns out that Nala was actually murdered by someone in the same mansion that Alvin currently lives in and now it is up to Alvin, Shadow and Faith to find out who murdered Nala.
Oh, my goodness! This book was truly a fantastic adventure to read through! Alvin Dorsey Jr. did such a fantastic job at writing this book as this book is full of mystery and suspense and I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat, trying to see if Alvin, Shadow and Faith would find out who murdered Nala and help her soul rest in peace. I also loved how Shadow and Faith were so faithful to their master Alvin and how they were willing to protect their master from any harm coming from the mansion, even if they did not fully understand the situation going on in the mansion. I also loved how Alvin Dorsey Jr. wrote the mystery elements of this story as there were clues scattered throughout the story about who murdered Nala and I had a fun time trying to put the pieces of the clues together to find out who murdered Nala.
The only minor problem that I had with this book was that I felt that the story moved a bit too fast and there were times where not everything was explained fully, such as characters like Rachel and Samuel not being fully developed.
Overall, even though the story moved a bit too fast in some places, “The Adventures of Shadow, Faith and Nala” is a truly fantastic book that fans of murder mysteries and dogs will easily enjoy! ...more

The story starts off with a mouse named Newly who owns a turnip farm and he started out eating nothing but turnips for most of his life. But one day, Newly ends up going on a truck ride, but then he falls down a hillside and ends up dropping into a river. Newly then ends up washing up on shore and it was then that he finds a town and he ends up making friends with the people of the town and he would soon discover a new opportunity for himself that would change his life forever.
“Newly Turns Up” was quite a unique and heartwarming story that I found myself really enjoying! I loved the way that Terry Carbary wrote all of the characters in this story as all of the characters are extremely friendly and caring towards each other. I especially loved the fact that the people of the town just openly accepted Newly and his turnip farm and it was great seeing Newly make a good life for himself in a new town. I also loved reading about Newly’s farm life and seeing how he is able to do things on his farm, such as planting the turnips and creating bridges around his farm.
Overall, “Newly Turns Up” is a fantastic story about the importance of friendship and establishing a friendly community that many children will enjoy reading. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to read about the farm life and learning how to establish a caring community.

So, over the years, I have read many children’s books that teach children about how to count numbers. But I rarely come across children’s books that teaches kids about what the highest numbers are and “Pebbles and the Biggest Number” is one such unique children’s book that teaches children about what the biggest numbers are!
Pebbles the Butterfly is on a mission to find out what the biggest number is and in order to search for the answer, Pebbles travels across the world and asks every animal he meets along the way. Of course, Pebbles’ journey is a dangerous one as he has to escape earthquakes, avalanches and tsunamis!
Can Pebbles find out what the biggest number is?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! This book was so cute and educational for me! Joey Benun has done a fantastic job at writing this story as we get to learn more about what some of the biggest numbers are such as, sextillion, septillion and octillion. I never thought that such numbers like sextillion and octillion actually existed and I’ve been learning numbers since elementary school! I had a lot of fun learning about what big numbers I haven’t heard about and I’m glad that there’s a children’s book out there that can educate children about what the biggest numbers in the world are! Laura Watson’s artwork is extremely adorable to look at! I loved the images of Pebbles the Butterfly himself as Pebbles looks adorable on each page! I also loved how colorful and energetic the artwork looks, especially whenever Pebbles meets up with a different animal throughout the story and whenever Pebbles tries to avoid any dangerous situations such as being around an earthquake or a tsunami.

Overall, “Pebbles and the Biggest Number” is a truly cute and educational children’s book for kids who want to learn more about numbers, especially what the biggest numbers are. I would recommend this book for children ages 5 and up since some of the detailed information featured in this book might be a bit confusing for smaller children.

Introduction:
So, let me tell you guys my history with “Sonic the Hedgehog” through the comic books. I grew up reading the Archie “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic books when I was a kid and I always enjoyed reading that series because that series tended to get pretty CRAZY and I LOVED IT! So, I was totally devastated when the series got cancelled after running for over 200 issues (which is quite an impressive feat for a comic book series based off a video game property). So, for many years, I thought that “Sonic the Hedgehog” would never come back to the wonderful world of comic books…until one fateful day, IDW announced that they were going to do a new “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic book series that featured the same writers and artists from the Archie series! At first, I was a bit hesitant about this announcement since I loved the Archie Comics and I did not want to see my precious series be replaced after all of these years. But the moment I picked up this first collection of IDW’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic book series, I was immediately HOOKED! I never thought that this series could actually be so good!
What is this story about?
Taking place after the events of the latest “Sonic the Hedgehog” video game “Sonic Forces,” the series starts off with Sonic the Hedgehog trying to take down Dr. Eggman’s remaining robot armies after the Doctor’s defeat in “Sonic Forces.” Along the way, Sonic meets up with some old friends (Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver) and some new friends (Tangle and Whisper) and they all help Sonic with taking down Dr. Eggman’s remaining robots. However, it turns out that Dr. Eggman had mysteriously vanished after the events of “Sonic Forces” and a new threat is actually the one controlling the robots.
Who is really behind all the robot attacks and what happened to Dr. Eggman?
Find out in this volume!
What I loved about this story:
Ian Flynn’s writing: So, for those of you who do not know, Ian Flynn is one of the original writers from the Archie “Sonic the Hedgehog” comic book series, meaning that he has been writing for this series for over 10 years! So, when I heard that he was coming back to write for this series, I was beyond excited since I loved his work in the Archie Comics. Ian Flynn has once again done a fantastic job at writing this collection of stories. I just loved the way that he portrayed each character, especially Sonic, Tails, Amy, Whisper and Tangle. I especially loved the numerous moments between the characters, especially between Sonic and Tails as we get to see their brotherly relationship with each other. I also loved the fact that Ian Flynn fixed a lot of the things that were controversial from the “Sonic Forces” video game (as that game seems to be extremely hated by the fans). For one thing, he made Tails into a braver and more enjoyable character like how he was portrayed in the “Sonic Adventure” games and I appreciated the fact that Ian Flynn fixed Tails’ character since Tails is one of my all-time favorite characters from the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise. Another set of characters that I really started to take a shining to are Tangle and Whisper. These are two new characters added for the comic book series and I already love these two characters! I just loved the way that these two characters were introduced into the story as they felt like they been a part of the Sonic cast for years, despite the fact that they are new characters. Also, this is a question I tend to ask myself:
“WHY WASN’T SONIC FORCES WRITTEN THIS WAY?”
One of my biggest gripes with the game “Sonic Forces” was how the story was so clunky and I was disappointed that we did not have any plot points about how the characters felt about the bleak situation they were dealing with in the game. In this new comic book series however, we actually get some good insight on how the characters felt about the events of “Sonic Forces,” like how Tails was worried that something bad will happen to Sonic again and whether or not he will break apart again. I just loved that moment between him and Sonic when they were talking about that situation and I just wished that “Sonic Forces” took the time to showcase such relationships between the characters.

The artwork: OH, MY GOODNESS! Probably the best part of this collection was the artwork itself! The artwork was done by several different artists who each brought something truly creative to the series. The artists are Tracy Yardley, Adam Bryce Thomas, Jennifer Hernandez and Evan Stanley. My favorite artwork in this collection is from Adam Bryce Thomas, Tracy Yardley and Evan Stanley. Adam Bryce Thomas’ artwork is probably the most epic out of the entire collection as I loved the way that the action scenes are drawn out and I loved that fact that his artwork has a more serious feel to them. Tracy Yardley’s art is a nice throwback to the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comics since he was an artist from the Archie Comics. Evan Stanley’s art is so fun and amazing to look at since I loved the way that the characters have comical expressions on their faces whenever something funny or shocking happens to them.
What made me feel uncomfortable about this story:
One of the problems that I had with this collection was that I wished that the world that Sonic lived in was established a bit more. Now, as a long-time fan of the “Sonic the Hedgehog” series, I am already familiar with the world of “Sonic the Hedgehog.” However, if you are a new reader to this series or you are just getting into the “Sonic the Hedgehog” series, chances are you are going to be a bit confused about how certain events played out, like how did the war started in the first place? Also, one of the artworks from this collection was a bit off from the rest of the artwork. That artwork came from issue three and even though I did like the artwork from that issue, it stood out from the other artwork in the collection as the other artwork were smoother in style, while the artwork in issue three had more bolded lines for the characters.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, “Sonic the Hedgehog: The IDW Collection Volume 1” is a fantastic collection of stories that “Sonic the Hedgehog” fans will greatly enjoy! If you were a fan of the Archie Comics or you just want to jump into the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise through the comics, then you should definitely pick this collection up! Now, I am waiting for the second collection to come out soon!

So, after years of not being able to read any children’s books that dealt with animals (which are some of my all-time favorite children’s books), I finally came upon a children’s book that dealt with animals called “The Speckled Feather” by Johanna Ries. I must say that I really enjoyed this cute little story about friendship!
The story starts off with three birds named Ade, Emem and Nuru who all live on the back of an elephant in the savanna. One day however, a beautiful speckled feather is blown into their midst and when one of the birds picks up the feather and sticks it to themselves, the other birds quickly got jealous and they wanted the speckled feather for themselves, despite the fact that this is ruining their friendship with each other.
Will the birds stop fighting over the feather to save their friendship? Find out in this story!
Wow! This book was both fantastic and cute to read through! Johanna Ries has done an excellent job at both writing and illustrating this book! I just loved the way that Johanna Ries wrote this book as the narrative was simple yet impactful as the story shows the importance of friendship and how friends can argue with each other if something came between them. I was actually sitting on the edge of my seat, wondering if the birds will regain their friendship again, despite the appearance of the speckled feather. Johanna Ries also did a fantastic job at illustrating this book as the animals in this book look so realistic, especially the elephant that the three birds live on. I also loved the abstract look of the savanna as it has a simplistic look, but still conveys the appearance of the savanna pretty well.
Parents might be a bit concerned about one scene where the main characters are being chased by a predator. While this scene was pretty short, some smaller children might be a bit scared by the main characters being in any danger. Parents might want to read this scene first before reading it to their children.
Overall, “The Speckled Feather” is a fantastic children’s book about the importance of friendship and how your friendship is much more important than any materialistic thing. I would recommend this book to children ages five and up due to one intense scene in this book.

Wow! It has been a while since I last read a children’s book that dealt with sports! And I used to read lots of children’s books that dealt with sports when I was little! So, when I finally got back to downloading books from NetGalley again, I stumbled upon this interesting children’s book called “The Wolf in Underpants at Full Speed” by Wilfrid Lupano, along with illustrations by Mayana Itoiz and Paul Cauuet and man, did I have a fun time with this book!
Today is the day for the big race in the forest! But unfortunately, someone is ruining everybody’s fun as the posters have been vandalized! So, the other animals ask the Wolf in Underpants (yes, there is a Wolf running around in underpants in this story) to investigate this case and once the Wolf searches throughout the forest, he finds a little chickadee. It turns out that the chickadee is the one who is ruining the posters and the reason why he is lashing out is because he was born with one of his wings being shorter than the other and therefore, he cannot fly. Once the Wolf in Underpants learns of this, he decided that he will find a way for the chickadee to participate in the big race, one way or another!
Will the Wolf in Underpants be successful in getting the chickadee in the big race?

Now, I will admit that I was a bit surprised to find out that this book is actually apart of a series called “The Wolf in Underpants” and this is the third book in the series! Seriously, NetGalley tends to only give out half of the books in a series and I usually find myself either reading the second or third book in a series first before reading the very first book in the series. Anyway, despite that, I really found this book to be so enjoyable and fun to read! Wilfrid Lupano did a fantastic job at writing this story as the wolf is portrayed as being a friendly guy who really wants to help out the chickadee with his predicament. I also loved how humorous and snarky this story is as all the characters, including the wolf himself, tend to make witty comments throughout the story, which really made this book fun to read! Mayana Itoiz and Paul Cauuet both did fantastic jobs at illustrating this book as the characters are humorous to look at and I loved the way that the forest is mostly in purple colors as it makes the forest look extremely unique from any other illustration that I have seen of forests in children’s books.
Overall, “The Wolf in Underpants at Full Speed” is both truly heartwarming and hilarious to read through and anyone who loves reading children’s books about sports and humor will definitely enjoy this book! I would recommend this book to children ages six and up since some of the humor might be a bit too witty for some smaller children.

I have been looking for some interesting children’s books to read for 2019. So, I went to NetGalley to seek out some children’s books and I found Marcus Pfister’s children’s book “Who Stole the Hazelnuts?” And man, was it such a hilarious read!
Everything in the forest was nice and quiet until a piercing scream is heard throughout the forest. The scream belongs to the squirrel and it turns out that his hazelnuts were stolen! So, the squirrel went around the forest trying to find the true culprit of this crime!
Will the squirrel find his hazelnuts?
Read this book to find out!
I have never read any of Marcus Pfister’s books before, especially the “Rainbow Fish” series (even though I have seen the TV series). So, this was the first book that I had read by him and I was pretty impressed by this book! Marcus Pfister has done an excellent job at both writing and illustrating this book as the story is both hilarious and mysterious at the same time. I was wondering throughout the whole book about who actually stole the squirrel’s hazelnuts and I was quite surprised by the ending! I also loved Marcus Pfister’s artwork as it is both gorgeous and hilarious to look at as the squirrel’s facial expressions are a bit exaggerated whenever he looks so surprised.
The only slight problem that I have with this book was that the squirrel started accusing his forest friends a little too easily. I would have thought that he would have given more thought to the situation instead of just accusing his friends without any evidence.
Overall, “Who Stole the Hazelnuts?” was a truly hilarious and mysterious book that children who love reading about mysteries with a hilarious twist will read over and over again! I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book, unless you find the squirrel’s accusations against the other animals a little troubling.

It has been awhile since I last read a book by Jan Brett. I used to read many books by Jan Brett when I was little and for a while, I thought that Jan Brett had taken a break from writing books. But, lo and behold! I had just discovered her most recent book “The Tale of the Tiger Slippers” and it was such a wonderful book to read!
The story starts off with a wealthy tiger telling his friends the story of how he got his raggedy old slippers that is put in a display case in his garden. The tiger used to be poor as he had lived with his mother and he worked hard every day to make ends meet for him and his mother. One day, his mother noticed how the stones and thorns in the ground were hurting her son’s feet. So she decided to weave him a pair of beautiful slippers to protect his feet. The young tiger wore the slippers and as he continued working, he noticed some white clay near the river and he decided to use the white clay to build houses for the other animals, which made him into an extremely wealthy tiger. The tiger then continues wearing his slippers, until a couple of other animals would start questioning him about why he wears such “ugly and raggedy” slippers and the tiger would throw the slippers away. But every time the tiger threw the slippers away, they keep on coming back to him.
Can the Tiger get rid of his slippers or is there something more to his slippers that he does not realize yet?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! Jan Brett’s writing is still as beautiful and as intriguing as ever! I loved the fact that this is based off a folktale from India since I love reading folktales from other countries. I also loved the way that Jan Brett wrote this story as it is about a wealthy tiger trying to remember his roots through his old slippers that his mother had weaved for him. This story really resonates with me because I always liked to keep items from my childhood since I do not ever want to forget about my roots or about the fun times that I had as a child. Jan Brett’s artwork is as usual gorgeous to look at as all the animal characters looks so realistic and beautiful. I especially loved the images of the tiger’s beautiful house as it conveys the essence of the culture of India and it is gorgeous to look at, especially with all the vegetation that surrounds his home.

Overall, “The Tale of the Tiger Slippers” is a truly wonderful story about the importance of remembering your roots that children and parents will enjoy reading for many years! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.
Man, it’s been awhile since I last read a “P.J. Funnybunny” book, despite growing up with the series. I think the last “P.J. Funnybunny” book I read wMan, it’s been awhile since I last read a “P.J. Funnybunny” book, despite growing up with the series. I think the last “P.J. Funnybunny” book I read was “It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny,” which was many years ago. So, I finally picked up another “P.J. Funnybunny” book called “The Very Bad Bunny” by Marilyn Sadler, along with artwork by Roger Bollen and I had a blast reading this book!
P.J. Funnybunny did not mean to be a bad bunny. He would do things like break the vase while playing in the house, spill syrup on the floor, cut up the newspaper before his father had a chance to read it and invite his friends over without asking his mother. Because of these things, P.J.’s parents and siblings all think that he is a bad bunny. One day however, P.J.’s little cousin Binky comes in for a visit and he and P.J. started playing with each other. But unfortunately, Binky turned out to be a bad bunny who was even worse than P.J. as he would do things like throw P.J.’s favorite ball into the lake, letting go of P.J.’s balloon and painting bunnies all over the walls in the house.
Now P.J and his family are going to see just how bad a bunny can be!
Wow! I was really having fun with this book! Marilyn Sadler did a fantastic job at writing this book as it was full of good humor! I enjoyed seeing the scenes where P.J. has to deal with Binky’s constant mischief and how he acted more mature in comparison. I found it pretty amusing that P.J.’s family thought that P.J. was the bad bunny, until they met Binky and he turned out to be much worse than P.J. himself! I also loved Roger Bollen’s artwork as it is humorous to look at, especially the images of P.J. and his family having to deal with Binky’s mischief throughout the book! I also enjoyed seeing how big the bunnies’ ears were in this book as they are drawn as taking over most of the space in the pages and seem to be extremely thick in size.
Parents should know that the message of this book might be a tad bit too confusing for some children. The way that I am looking at this story is that P.J. has done some bad things, but he never meant to do any of those things on purpose. He seems genuinely sorry for his actions and only acted out badly when he was punished. Meanwhile, Binky does a lot of bad things in this book, but he is never sorry about the things that he has done and he continues to misbehave towards the Funnybunny family throughout the book. So, basically the book is trying to say that there is a difference between a child doing bad things by accident versus doing bad things on purpose? I am not sure what the book is trying to save about children misbehaving here. If you know what this book is trying to say about badly behaving children, then please feel free to tell me down below.
Overall, “The Very Bad Bunny” is a fun and cute little book about tackling the subject of children behaving badly and I would definitely recommend this book to fans of the “P.J. Funnybunny” series! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since the message in this book might confuse some children.

After reading “Diary of an Ogre,” I was actually surprised that there were several companion novels to the “Dear Diary” series and I was so excited to check out the newest book in the series “Diary of a Monster!”
The book explores about what life for a monster is like as we get to see the world through a monster’s point of view. The titular monster in the story writes in his diary about the various things that he does as a monster such as terrifying the people he comes across, being one of the smelliest beings among his fellow monsters and eating worm cakes and mosquitoes!
Wow! Valeria Davila has done it again with writing this series in such a hilarious and creative way! I loved the way that Valeria Davila explored the world through a monster’s point of view and we get to see what kind of activities the monsters do and how they feel about doing these activities. I also loved the fact that the titular monster in this book is actually proud of being a monster, despite all the disgusting things that he does throughout the book such as being the smelliest monster around and eating mosquitoes and worm cakes. It shows that the message of this book is being yourself, no matter how strange or frightening you might look towards other people. Laura Aguerrebehere’s artwork is as usual humorous and fun to look at as we get to see the monster’s activities in all its disgusting glory! I especially loved the images of the monster scaring off the tourists on an island and the green stink clouds that surround the monster to indicate how smelly he is.
Parents should know that there is some gross humor in this book such as images of the monster cooking up a stew made out of rats and cockroaches and images of the monster eating mosquitoes and worms.
Overall, “Diary of a Monster” is a fantastic book for anyone who is a huge fan of books about monsters and it is definitely worth the read! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since some of the gross humor might be a bit too much for some children.

After reading “This is a Taco!” by Andrew Cangelose, along with artwork by Josh Shipley, I never would have thought that there would be another book from this series! Enter “This is a Whoopsie!” and I automatically went to NetGalley and gave this new picture book a shot and man, was it one of the funniest books I had ever read!
Meet Whoopsie! He is a moose! And this book is supposed to teach children about moose and what their lifestyle is like in real life. Unfortunately, Whoopsie is extremely clumsy and he is constantly falling over himself on each page. After making too many mistakes, Whoopsie decides that he is not the right moose for the job. But, his bluebird friend thinks differently.
Will Whoopsie find something that he is really good at?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! Andrew Cangelose has done it again! I just loved the way that Andrew Cangelose writes the humor in this book as it is full of wit and sarcasm and it just makes this book a treat to read through! I also like the fact that this book has a more heartwarming tone than the previous book “This is a Taco!” did since this book focuses on the friendship between Whoopsie the Moose and the little bluebird who keeps helping him out. Josh Shipley’s artwork is another aspect of the book that I really enjoyed as the artwork is humorous and creative to look at. I especially loved the images of Whoopsie the Moose himself as he has a goofy expression, but he can also sport friendly expressions on his face whenever he is talking to the bluebird.

Overall, “This is a Whoopsie!” is a fantastic read for anyone who loves good humor and books about friendship and children will enjoy this book for many years! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book, unless smaller children would have trouble understanding the humor of this book.

The story starts off with a young girl named Ursula who asks her father to tell her a bedtime story about magical beings called the bear folk. The bear folk were beings who were half human and half bear due to their parents being bears and humans who fell in love and married each other. The bear folk also had the abilities to change shape from bears to humans whenever they feel like it. One day however, the bears decided to stay in the woods while the humans decided to stay in towns; but despite this, some of the bear folk still went into the towns that were occupied by humans and managed to mingled in with some of the humans. It was at this point that Ursula asks her father if the bear folk still exists and will she ever meet one of the bear folks?
Will Ursula meet one of the bear folks?

Yay! I have always loved reading folktales that dealt with magical beings and “Bear Child” is definitely one of those folktale books that I was interested in reading! Geoff Mead has done a great job at writing this book as this book is extremely heartwarming and magical to read through as I enjoyed seeing the loving relationship between Ursula and her father as Ursula’s father tells Ursula a bedtime story that deals with the importance of family. I also liked the way that Geoff Mead wrote the story about the bear folk as I love magical beings that are able to change into different forms and I like the fact that the basis of their characters is that they try to create a loving family with human beings. Sanne Dufft’s artwork is probably the best part of this book as they are gorgeous to look at, especially of the artwork of seeing white cloud versions of the bears up in the blue and starry skies!

The reason why I gave this book a four-star rating was because I felt that the pacing of this book was a bit too slow in some places. I actually wished that there was a bit more action in this book, although I really enjoyed the heartwarming aspect of this story.
Overall, “Bear Child” is a truly adorable story about the importance of family that children will enjoy! I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.

The story starts off with a pig family going out to the beach to have a good time and the story is told in the same rhyme as “This little piggy” like this:
“This little piggy said, “Beach time! This little piggy agreed. This little piggy packed a picnic. This little piggy stopped to read. And this little piggy cried, “Me, me, me! I have what we need!”
Amy E. Sklansky’s writing was adorable to read through as I loved seeing the pig family going out to the beach and seeing what kind of adventures they get into at the beach! I also loved the fact that Amy E. Sklansky wrote this story in a rhyming scheme that is based off the “This Little Piggy” poem. It reminded me quite a bit of Jill Sardegna’s book “The Roly Poly Spider” which was a book that was also written in a rhyming scheme that was based off of an old nursery rhyme called “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider” with a modern twist. Christine Davenier’s artwork is scratchy, but in an extremely adorable way. I loved the looks of the pigs themselves as they all look adorable and I really enjoyed seeing them doing various activities while on the beach such as reading, building sandcastles and playing ball.

Even though I thought that this was a really cute story, I thought that there should have been more adventurous scenes with the pig family or at least more humor in the story. I felt that there were some parts of the story that felt a bit empty, meaning that I wanted to see more excitement in this story, even if it is just about a family going out to the beach (if that makes sense).
Overall, “These Little Piggies Go to the Beach” is a truly cute read for anyone who is a fan of the “This Little Piggy” poem and wants to see a more modern take on the classic nursery rhyme! I would recommend this book to children ages four and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.

So, I got yet another children’s book from NetGalley and this book is called “This is a Taco!” by Andrew Cangelose along with artwork by Josh Shipley. I must say that this is seriously one of the FUNNIEST children’s books I had ever read for the modern era of children’s books!
Meet Taco! Taco is a squirrel who happens to love eating tacos and he only agreed to be in this book if he can have some tacos. Unfortunately for Taco, this book is not about tacos as it is a book that teaches the readers about the life of a squirrel and how they are able to survive in the wild.
Will Taco the Squirrel get his tacos?
Read this book to find out!
Wow! Just wow! I thought that I would never read another children’s book that contains so much humor and wit in this day and age, but lo and behold, I found such a book! Andrew Cangelose has done an excellent job at writing this book as this story is truly hilarious to read! I loved the way that Andrew Cangelose wrote Taco the Squirrel himself as he is such a hilarious character who just wanted to have tacos to eat but has to endure lots of mishaps in this book so that the reader would learn more about squirrels. I especially loved the way that Taco the Squirrel solved the problem of not getting tacos at the end of this book as it was a truly witty and humorous conclusion to the story! I also loved the fact that the tone of this book reminded me so much of the popular children’s book “The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales” as both books have sarcastic humor and characters who continually break the fourth wall and wanted the stories to go the way they see fit. Josh Shipley’s artwork is adorable and hilarious to look at, especially of the images of Taco the Squirrel himself as he is shown as being a puffy looking squirrel with a humorous smile on his face on each panel. I also loved the watercolors in the background as it gives the book a down to earth tone that compliments well with the mellowness of this book.

Overall, “This is a Taco!” is a truly hilarious book about squirrels and unconventional storytelling that children should definitely check out! I would recommend this book to children ages five and up since there is nothing inappropriate in this book.
